NYSC / Re: Angry Memo To NYSC About Corpers Posting by Auwalms(m): 6:54pm On Mar 07, 2016
Shey no be only me get this thought. NYSC na waste of 365days
ITSaWRAPPP:
a case of putting a square peg in a round hole
For a while, I have intended to write an open letter to address the lacuna in NYSC scheme but being so busy putting structure to my business.
It is so appalling that the scheme has become a shadow of itself. As an outfall of the civil war, graduates were supposed to serve the nation but what do we have? they are instead used to enrich some unscrupulous Citizens and non-citizens. From personal research, I uncovered that most of the schools (privately owned) do not employ qualified teachers instead opt for corpers paying them peanut who they also change annually upon passing out thereby saving their running/operational cost. This is clear case of exploitation and abuse of the scheme which has indirectly denied the qualified teachers the opportunity to practice their profession.
If NYSC must continue, it should be optional. Since the objective is to foster the love and unity washed away by the civil war by unifying a cross section of Nigerians from all regions under a roof/State. Orientation camp is enough to achieve that. Many made contacts across the tribes which they would treasure for years. We don't need a whole year to meet people and know them. Instead Orientation camp should be increased to 4weeks after which corpers get their certificate and move on. Enough of PPA that adds little or no value to the nation and corpers but instead the business owners. I understand that some corpers get retain but sincerely, what percentage of corpers get retained by reasonable and good companies?
The monthly stipends being paid by the Federal government is next to nothing when compared to the cost of livingl; instead a one off lump-sum payment of 237600NGN (19,800 x 12) at the end of the proposed one month camping period would help make more entrepreneurs and increase the nation's GDP. Whoever decided to go clubbing with the funds is free to do so. Wasting people's 365days in the name of fostering unity and inter-tribal relationships is a waste of life
The topic on how NYSC officers are being enriched through the procurement of orientation materials (kits, food etc) is for another day.
Lalasticlala, Mynd44, kindly do the needful
What is your take on the NYSC scheme?

Programming / Re: 10 Reasons To Install Linux Alongside Windows Or Port Completely by Auwalms(m): 2:02pm On Jan 07, 2016
Nigerians dont use linux? Yes! But u have to understand that not only Nigerians, Linux generally has low users primarily due to the fact that it is seen as a bit hard and meant mainly for tech-Savvies and Geeks. Its also important to note that Nigerians may not have the internet power(see how much we dey buy data) to install Application software in the box since linux softwares are not sold in the market the buy appsoft to instal in their windows OS shocked as such the have a point, but a weak point since they are missing all the goodies you mentioned above.

I have been using linux for quite a while(about 6years) and have honestly enjoyed working with it, some of the distros i have used are Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora, Arch and have experimented on Backtrack and Kali lately. favorite play ground has always been the almighty Terminal.

I hope you guys really teach Java not just teach student how to design a UI using the Swing Class without even telling the student it's just a single class out of many, but if you guys would teach from basic Java to Advance(Inheritance, Polymorphism and Abstraction), It's gonna be a good thing to do. best of luck to the students.
Programming / Re: I want to learn programming but hate mathematics by Auwalms(m): 5:08pm On Jan 06, 2016
Being good at maths isn't compulsory, but writing a complex program has to do with Mathematical analysis since algo is a sure thing to do. If you really wanna be a bus stop Software Engineer you will need to start liking maths and even learn it at you leisure time.

Best of Luck on your programming Journey.

I stand by my response.

Your response was quiet okay but you are wrong about ransom32 specifically been around since 2005, Other ransomware since before time but r32 was just unleashed within last year and still on analysis

It is time women all over begin to ask for their rights. Polygamy too, should not be practised in this modern time. It is not in tune with modern realities. It is the highway to spreading STDs and HIV.
Polygamy is an option for those who are interested. It's best we don't instigate our ideas on others. Every man with his cross
