I know there are So many sectors you can learn a skill in and grow from apart from agriculture. Thanks for the ICT info. The problem is information. That's why I added searching and engaging yourself with productive programmes in this era where mediocrity rules.
Thanks @ general bush.

Sitting in my room after a stressful day and decided to take a break in my own words *nairalanding* with a bowl of garri and ekpa as some of us will do. Then I saw this thought provoking and realitistic topic of yours.
Wow, many of us have been and are still in this stage of yours, so I decided to sacrifice my garri and ekpa to quickly reply your topic hoping it gets to front page. *coughs*
In the year 2011/12, I had my NYSC and was posted to a good company in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state where I was given a room and paid well. I worked my ass off from 8am-12am hoping I will be retained. I worked so hard today, I weep because my mum was ill and passed on but never had the chance to even see her while in the hospital.
Note: None of us were retained because no reference letter from Oga at the top.
After service I applied to everywhere and I remember I passed a test where I was congratulated. The list got to abuja and names were changed.
Now I am writing to you on how i am surviving. This is my answer to your thread and topic *what next after NYSC*
1. I realized I am solely responsible for my success and failures in life.
2. I have no one to give me a job because even that person has a family.
3. Be real and not live a fake life. This will make you attract real friends who likes you for who you are.
4. I relocated to a rural area where feeding, rent, and life is far cheaper.
5. I went into foods. Reselling of food items eg palm oil, plantain, cocoa yam. I buy from the native women and resell at Lagos markets,
6. Started snail farming(also peppered snails) and I have been surviving and do you know the number of hotels, lounges, in Lagos?
7. I set a plan for my life, living below my income, and a cheap and low cost/maintenance area, I have made real friends.
8. Finally I hold my family close because your family is all you have.
Finally learn from every stage in your life because these stages have lessons to help you pass these exam called LIFE.
This is my letter to you. Bless you.

While in Nigeria some youths are thinking about how to use charm to make more money by YAHOO-YAHOO.

In the western part of Nigeria OGUN STATE is championing RITUALISM....

THE SE still doing drugs n fake things.....

That's because your leaders and the masses support and cherish youths adding no productive value to the nation. Eg. BBN. We celebrate misplaced priorities.
When last did we celebrate first class graduates?
When last did we spend so much like 25mill or a leader giving 50mill on a productive youth or project?
Who mtns and companies dey use as their ambassadors?
So at the end all the youths think is wizkid, BBN, davido etc and nothing economically productive .

Which way NIGERIA?...

Its unfortunate. At this stage and state in Nigeria BBN is not what we need or what our youths should push for. Fela once said Africa right now has no business with love nor party songs YES. We should sing for struggle and freedom from Neocolonialism(whites in black skin leading us), corruption, mental slavery, unemployment, under development etc.
What is the positive impact of BBN economically, productively to our kids, youths, and Nigeria as a whole.
I don't blame the youths. I only wish there could be mass re orientation so as to set our priorities right.

Braden7:
If Blacks Weren't Colonized & Enslaved Would Africans Be Christians And Muslim?

Your great grand children will think very differently from the way you do today, just as you think differently from your great grand parents. Your christian or Islamic religious outlook is as a result of events which played out just over 100 years ago :COLONIZATION.
Think about it with an open mind for a moment. Your great grand father who likely lived within the last 120 years was not a christian or Muslim like you are today . In fact, neither Jesus Christ nor Moses nor David ever came to mind at all . How come ? Well, you were colonized by a group of men who forced their religion on you. Remember ,every society has their religion. Japanese has,Chinese have theirs ,Indians have theirs ,,Arabs have theirs. they all maintain their religions and names today because they wee never colonized and enslaved .

The southern part of west Africa are Christians simply because they were colonized . The northern part of west Africa are Muslims because they were colonized by the Arabs. If the southern part had also been colonized by Arabs ,they too would be Muslims . If the northern part had not resisted Christianity due to already having Islam, they would be Christians.
The Asians and Indians weren't severely colonized nor enslaved that's why they maintain their religion. If Japan had colonized and enslaved Africa, all Africans today would be Buddhist , and Christianity would seem like a strange idea. Africans and blacks are the only ones who bear European names and also adhere to their slave religion which was forced upon them. They defend it and fight for it.

What makes you a christian? What makes you think Christianity is the all in all ? Is it because that's what you've been indoctrinated to believe from childhood? if you were born into a Muslim family and society ,you would be Muslim. If you were born into a Buddhist family, the names "Moses" or 'Lazarus" would not come to mind .

Now the Chinese are coming into africa. When they take over, soonest Africans will start worshipping their Gods too. *hopefully we would have sense before then*
