Politics / APGA: NEC Backs Gov. Obi, Fixes April 18 For Convention by AWKAMADEGUN: 8:06am On Mar 10, 2013
THE crisis rocking leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) took a twist Saturday as the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party threw its weight behind Governor Peter Obi of Anambra state, adopting him as its Deputy National Leader.

The NEC at the meeting, which was held in Awka fixed April 18 for its national convention, to be held in Enugu.

The meeting, which had in attendance 36 states chairmen of the party, adopted Mr. Peter Obi as the Deputy National Leader of the party. Chairman of the Forum of State Chairmen, Dr. Arzuka Jega, was chairman pro-tempore of the Awka meeting.

They commended the leadership of Mr. Obi and called on him to continue his efforts to reposition the party. It distanced the party from merger process that gave birth to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The resolutions of the meeting as contained in a communiqué made available to newsmen approved 12-man-committee for the April convention.

The party resolved to re-admit without pre-conditions all former members who express desire to return to its fold.

Meanwhile, leaders of the Accord Party (AP) met yesterday in Benin City, Edo State, to review the performance of the party. They attributed failure of the party to reach alliance with others to “selfish and ambitious interests” of some members.

They, however, said AP was not planning to merge with any with another party ahead the 2015 general elections.

National Secretary of the party, Dr. Samson Isibor, disclosed this while addressing members of the National Executive Council (NEC) shortly before its meeting in Benin City.

National Chairman of the party, Dr. Isaac Adeniyi was absent at the meeting but Edo, Beyelsa, Kogi, Rivers, Cross Rivers, Adamawa and Lagos state chairmen were in attendance.

Isibor noted that the meeting was to acquaint the state party chairmen with events in the past two years and strategies on how to free the party from exploitation by individuals.

A national caucus member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), a merger of opposition parties, Annie Okonkwo, said Nigeria needs a firm commitment to “a new order” to forge ahead.

Okonkwo, a senate member, while addressing Anambra Youths at a summit in Awka, at the weekend, lamented the failure of government to embark on projects that create jobs for its citizenry.

A communiqué issued at the end of the summit called for increased participation of youths in governance.

Abagworo:

All I owe myself is a free conscience. I neither belong to rochas nor PDP but I'm impressed with the level of work done so far by this administration. It is not up to 2 years and people are talking about not doing everything or uncompleted road projects. Why is Onitsha still a ghetto 7 years into Obi's administration if I may ask? You've been bragging about the work on Enugu expressway 7 years later and it is still in progress and you are happy. For me 2years or even 4 years is not enough to condemn a progressive Government.

Deal with it bro..Onitsha is turning into a world class city with major world multinationals like SABMILLER and others zooming into the city. Even your brother Orange Drug left your Imo and went to Anambra and built a massive world manufacturing companies, bring 100s of employment to the city of Onitsha while his own state is being over-run by jobless youths. What does that tell? It shows that good governance pays unlike the maximum ruler Roches who is busy fighting with PAs of other governors. Below is the picture of road named after Tony Ezenna (Orange Drugs) road at the Onitsha Harbour. The same road leads to the company. Grow up

More work presently going on in the economic city of Onitsha

This is another area of the Onitsha Fed. Highway near Zik's Junction. Work is seriously ongoing with major widening and expansion of the road.

Politics / Re: Obi Shuts Onitsha Bridge-head ‘markets’ by AWKAMADEGUN: 8:24am On Jan 14, 2013
This is the pictures of the Head Bridge to Upper Iweka as at September last year. Obi is still demolishing and firing work on the road to be like Abuja roads. Am sure they must have been at the completion stage and markings by now.

Not2bee: please my fellow imolities, the time to play politics is not now. the fact that u are benefiting direct or indirectly from the present gov in imo state does not mean we should not ask for a better state for our children. please IMO is not about ohakin or rochas, is about making IMO a better place. ohakin is gone, he had his chance and did little to nothing.now is rochas we will have to voice out, he got the seat because the grass root voted him.IMO is not about owrr, lnfect let me quote rochas is inscrpted on a wall by wetheral roundabout, 'politicians think of next election, leaders think of next generation '.please rochas is doing almost nothing about this next generation nd nothing very encouragg about the present. his free education will yield nothing because of not well trained teachers etc, please visit this, schools.the road are poorly done or abandoned. the general hospitals are abandoned because contactrs are not paid, most of the school blocks are Still in the containers.nothing is happening in orlu to owr road before u know it rain will set in. am in IMO right now.I am from mbaitoli nd nothg has change here, if u re praising rochas mention the lga nd I will drive nd report back to this forum. anything within owrr pls leave it or orlu. oguta is propaganda. please speak the truth so that he will situp.it must not be next tenure, it has to be now

Abagworo:

Orlu is finer than Nnewi, Onitsha and Awka period. Owerri is on another level. No village in Anmbra is comparable to Oguta. So there's nothing to bring. At least there's no street like Oguta road in Imo State and there's no spot like upper Iweka.

Nnewi is finer than orlu, owerre and your rural oguta put together. go figure. Awka is taking another dimension for good, its a city I have seen that houses are constructed with modern building materials and long span alumininum sheet unlike in your Owerre that they use rusty zinks and shabby.

The world understands that Onitsha is economic hub of the east. What is your owerre known for? I have not seen a single Anambran living in imo state, but come to Anambra- Onitsha, Nnewi there are 100s of thousands of Imo people living in Anambra. Infact over 75% of businessmen at Head Bridge Drug Market Onitsha are imo people

In Anambra there is no spot as prostitution infested town like your owerre. Owerre is a ghost town there is nothing happening there except kidnapping and prostitution. Roches is a disaster and fraudulent 419 kingpin. He had borrowed money to build mosques in the northern states, he has rendered your imo state incapacitated and bankrupt. Contractor are not paid, workers are not paid, refuse dumps all over the place. I think you should be more pre-occupied by the waste going on in your poor state of imo
Politics / Re: What Exactly Is Rochas Doing In Imo State? by AWKAMADEGUN: 10:10pm On Jan 13, 2013
@Abagoro

Bring it on, lets see who go run. The fact is that roches is a disaster

abagoro:

There's no light to throw. Most of those are allegations. There was no LGA election but the normal PDP quack selection hurriedly done to disorganize an incoming Government. The truth is that even your Anambra is yet to conduct an LGA election under Obi. A lot of reasons including use of LGA funds for Government work is involved.

There's no looting because his volume of work is above the States possible income by my speculation. He has overtaken 6year old Governors in 1 year and 8 months. Orlu is today overtaking such State capitals in the Southeast as Awka and Abakaliki in modernity and organisation.

Why are you such a delusional and illusioned persona? You mean owerre and orlu that has been abandoned and turned into a refuse dumping ground with red mud all over the place. Did you read posts by your co imo people that exposed your roches? orlu does not even come close to Ekwuluobia nor Ihilla of yesterday talkless.

From the eye witness imo state is broke, heavily indebted, without a visionary governor, has over 1000 PAs, wasting state resources on too many adverts, using state money to sponsor his daughters wedding, defrauding the state while busy talking on daily basis and above all borrowing so much money without nothing to show for it.
Politics / Re: What Do You Think Of This Ad From Osun State? by AWKAMADEGUN: 1:41pm On Jan 13, 2013
kutchs: That boy Rawufu is something else.

just like Okorocha, all noise and no action.

Wait until Abagworo gets your a/s/s, he will roast it for you. grin grin

At the topic: this is the product of acn Yoruba. This is what they want to use in deceiving Nigerians that their regional party is working. The state still cuts an image of rural and backward state. Even the state capital is more like a village.
Politics / Re: What Exactly Is Rochas Doing In Imo State? by AWKAMADEGUN: 1:36pm On Jan 13, 2013
VOICEOFTHEMASES: Now,if you think i just blow my voice above my head on social media about Governor Okorocha, then your dreaming. Last year I was shouting at the top of my voice that there were massive looting going on in imo state but some of you called me names. Wait, soon I will start showing you pictures I took while I was in owerri during the festive period so tat you will understand why I have been shouting that this administration is characterized by lies and corruption. Thank God the EFCC has heard my cry and moved into action. As am talking now, Commissioner of Finance Chike John, and Eche Ezenna George the Accountant General of Imo state are cooling off in EFCC custody. Wait till more heads roll.

Are you aware that when Gov Okorocha came into office in 2011,he sent the 27 elected LGA chairmen parking? Well these sacked chairmen of the 27 local governments in Imo State had told the EFCC that Okorocha misappropriated funds from a N13.5bn bond raised by his predecessor, Ikedi Ohakim. The chairmen also alleged that since June 2011, the Joint Accounts Committee in Imo State had not functioned and all statutory allocations due to the local governments totaling over N80bn had been misappropriated by Okorocha.

Following the ALGON petition amongst others, operatives of the EFCC visited Imo in October and commenced probes into the operations of the state joint account with the Local Government.

Now for those of you that visited owerri during xmas or the imolites that went home? plz tell me where you saw a project that you feel is worth up to 3billion naira or does the state capital look like a place where 80Billion was pumped into? I visited almost 6 LGA but still could not find anything!where did N80billion go to(hahahahah ask me and I will tell you)

Thanks
V.O.M

Where are Roches defenders now? The above throws more light and a major eye opener. imo state people should shine their eyes, this guy is worse than ohakim and ohakim put together. The state has never been lucky since Udenwa

Mehn the gov is a disaster. Like geeez said he is busy fighting in public with PA's to other governors. A mere talkative, we can't wait for ohakim to return in 2014.

salam001: Idemili south have not felt anything, maybe because his enemy(Ngige] is from there, the man is even worse than Mbadinuju

I know that Ngige did so much at Idemili areas. Maybe there is now little to be done as far as that part is concerned. But am very sure that Ngige virtually turned Alor and parts of Idemili into small london.

salam001: i wont call you s.t.u.p.i.d,even though i know you are,
and if what you are saying is true, why did it take him 8 years to start work?
And why is there none in my local government and hometown?

Salami stop it where is your town sef. The governor has done tremendously well. Am from Ekwulobia he has done well for my villa which he turned into a semi-urban center. I was in Awka for a wedding on the 29th, I could not but continue to see cool and nice edifices with hospitality industry and night life booming. Udoka and Abuja estates, roads that were tarred within estates. And more roads are also being tarred within Ngozika est.
Obi has laid down the framework and masterplan for speedy advancement of Anambra. Even Osha is receiving its measure attention in the area of road reconstruction, the Onitsha expressway is presently under reconstruction and remodeling into 8 lanes starting from Head Bridge. The next governor will actually continue from where he stopped. Obi cannot do it all alone within 8 yrs.
