The calculation is, from the available 113,113 votes in contention today in Idemmili North and South districts, if APC or PDP could secure 85,000 out of it and APGA secures no single vote from it, then either of those two challengers may be declared winner.
It is just like in a football match where a leading team on home soil that is leading with some goal margins will be requiring just one away goal to lift the trophy or loose out if it failed to score the vital winning goal on an away fixtures, it looks very unlikely for APGA not to score even the one single vote needed to be formally declared winner!

So the situation looks very precarious for APC, PDP and Labour parties in todays supplementary match.
My advice to the trio is to be brave enough to throw in the towel and surrender then declare their allegiance to APGA winner instead of going in there to face certain indelible defeat!

So judging by the foregoing, join us on Sunday 1st of Dec 2013 as Dr Willie Obiano of APGA, the people's general is formally inaugurated as the undisputed winner of the Omambala 2013 INEC Champions league in Awka with the golden trophy!

Ngwakwe: Truth plus Error is Terror. This has been your irrelevant and unsolicited inputs in matters you lack deep rooted and concise knowledge on.

I am from Abia State but expended much resources to see that Owerri indigenes' order of "non natives out of election booths" never materialised to ensure that Ohakim was voted out while Abagworo did nothing than noise making on how they achieved the revolution.

Abia State was under military occupation due the activities of Osisikanku who is somehow from Imo State by birth but an Abian by residence. The combined forces of JTF and the special forces were used to rig T. A. Orji into power against the wishes of Abians.

Don't ever in any away assume that Imolites were more determined than Abians to effect a change but the security challenges were the impediment that obstructed the political revolution in Abia State.

Please I don't like any claim of undeserved superiority of any South East State over the other.

Still remember that 30% of Abia State population are registered voters from other Igbo States. We all have Aba as Igbo common patrimony and it should never be left in the hand of failed governor.

Brotherly Love and Peace

IGBO-SON:
The whole story is sketchy at best, and i feel it's just being released now to make Obi/APGA appear dynamic (at this 11th hour.....when they've spent close to 8 years twiddling their thumbs doing next to nothing!)......and make it look like they're finally making moves to bring out Onitshas full potential.

It's no different from the raft of donations, gifts and policy initiatives he's been making recently: SUV gifts to traditional rulers; monthly stipends to the elderly; the ad-hoc presentation of cheques to schools; conducting LGA elections for the first time since he became Governor! It's all a smokescreen to make people think they've had a working gov't and vote APGA in the coming elections!

I doubt that -if anything is finally built- it would be a world-class structure and a thing of pride to look at; going by his antecedents, it's most likely going to be a collection of budget market stalls and kiosks......that's if anything actually gets built!

I'm prepared to eat humble pie if i'm proved wrong, but i ain't holding my breath!

Why can't you see any good thing for once. I sense bad blood.

Its not Anambra that is building it, its WATC! Anambra may contribute by throwing in the land and enabling environment. And why do you think Obi is not dynamic and proactive? Obi is not a noise maker, he believes in doing things that we have its needs and not for political gains.

Development is not about painting just the state capital, it goes beyond that. Obi is working in all the corners of the state and not just the major cities. Have you been to Onitsha recently? Am sure if you do you will stop this senseless comments of yours because it smacks of frustration and bitterness.

Of course you will be disappointed and proved wrong big time, when the edifice will stand like the ones in Dubai and Asian Tigers, just like Obi has always done to people like you.

Okonkwo said the state government had acquired 50 hectares of land for the project at the 2-in-1 Louis Odumegwu-Ojukwu complex in Oyi.

According to him, the centre will be constructed in phases with shopping malls, modern facilities, eateries, offices, nursery and hotels.

``You know that Onitsha is the largest market in West Africa. We have decided to expand the market by approving the construction of the trade centre,’’ he said.

The commissioner said the establishment of the centre in the South East was to encourage and consolidate on the business acumen of the Igbo.

He said it would also help to sustain strong economic development which will trigger chains of economic activities.

Okonkwo said that some of the social vices in the South East would be reduced as the centre would create employment and improve the well-being of the people.

Also, the President of the West Africa Trade Centre, Mr Emmanuel Anyararu, said the centre would provide a platform for the strong economic development of the zone. (NAN)

If it is going to be like the WTC in new York City , dubai or China then they might not need so much land space

It may likely be a little bit Onitsha outskirts. Maybe areas as Trans Nkisi extention or 33 extension. Onitsha is expanding seriously due to the urban renewal presently going on. I hope Orient will start the International Cargo Airport real soon around Otuocha sites.

All in all this is a win-win for Anambra, SE and Nigeria at large.

Odimegwu must do an expository census in 2016..
Politics / Northern Christians Ask FG To Apologise To Odimegwu by AWKAMADEGUN: 12:49pm On Sep 02, 2013
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 northern states has asked the federal government to withdraw the query issued to Odimegwu and apologise to him.

The Christian body said the call by the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) on President Goodluck Jonathan to ensure that the chairman of National Population Commission (NPC), Chief Festus Odimegwu, does not supervise the 2016 census was misplaced.

In a statement made available to THISDAY last night, the group wondered which part of the North the ACF was referring to, asking when the ACF became a political party that every time they will always dabble into politics?

The statement which was signed by its Public Relations Officer, Sunny Oibe, the body said: “There was a census that was conducted during the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida’s administration. Lagos was given a figure more than Kano. Then the late General Sani Abacha came and split Kano into two, making Jigawa and Kano States. As at today, half of that Kano is more than Lagos. So are we saying that Lagos is not growing, meaning that it’s only the core North that is growing?

“Before the 2006 census, we confronted the former chairman of NPC, Mr. Samu’ila Makama from Plateau State on why religion and ethnicity are not included in census matters to be able to ascertain who is who in Nigeria and the man was sweating. We wanted to know which tribe and religion exist in Nigeria and that these information must be included in census data. The man was sweating. The North then blackmailed and intimidated ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo that if the indices were not removed, they won’t participate in the exercise.

Why is it that it is always the North that is causing problems, claiming that they are in the majority but always afraid of coming out with a true figure that will enable Nigeria to plan well?

Odimegwu has not said anything worse than that of the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. We Christians are always sacrificing because we want the unity of Nigeria to remain. We are also shocked that Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State went so far to intimidate Jonathan and the federal government into issuing a query to Odimegwu. Why did Kwankwaso not go to Jonathan to demand that a civil servant in the person of Sanusi who has turned CBN into an Islamic agenda be sacked?

“What Odimegwu said was the truth; the figure of the 2006 census was cooked to support and favour the core North. The Middle Belt was grossly undermined and we are not happy with that. Odimegwu has stated the fact of the matter. The coming census must be addressed in such a transparent way.

“The North is using all these as a blackmail for the 2015 elections. Obasanjo sacrificed for them, yet they opposed his third term agenda. Therefore, Jonathan should not allow himself to be deceived into sacrificing Odimegwu because of 2015 elections. The core North never voted for Jonathan and they will never vote for him. We know those who voted for Jonathan, it’s the minority Christians in the North who gave him the vote. When we put the figures together, we know the impact of our votes. Jonathan should therefore not be afraid of the majority. All things being equal, God will allow him to get re-election.

“The only solution to these problems is a national conference come 2014 to address all the issues in Nigeria where it would be determined whether we will remain together or peacefully part ways. We will not accept and agree with a situation where one part of the country will always be dictating for others.”

Similarly, an Igbo group, Orlu Council of Elders, has urged Kwankwaso to refrain from verbal attacks on Odimegwu, or be seen as espousing fraud and forgery.

Describing the governor's vituperative attacks on Odimegwu as unprovoked and unnecessary, the group in a statement titled: 'Governor Kwankwaso's Unprovoked Personal Attack on Chief Festus Odimegwu' and signed by its Secretary, Mr. Sonnie Hart Ibeh, said rather than condemnation, the NPC chairman deserves accolades.

The body argued that: "Since Odimegwu's revelations were undefended, honest people will see the governor's action as espousing fraud and forgery."

"The Orlu Council of Elders has read with utter disgust and condemnation the inexplicable vehemence of the attack by the governor of Kano State, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso on the person and office of Dr. Festus Odimegwu, the Chairman of the NPC.

"To unleash such virulent attack and denunciation on the chief executive of a very technical and sensitive outfit of the federal government for making an informed criticism of the work of his predecessors is most unfortunate," Ibeh noted.

While calling on President Goodluck Jonathan to discountenance Kwankwaso's utterances over the statement credited to Odimegwu, where he said previous censuses in Nigeria were marred by insincerity, the group advised that with his position as a governor, Kwankwaso "should conduct affairs as a statesman", adding that, "by his disclosure, Odimegwu has set a target by which he should be judged at the end of his tenure."

Politics / Re: Chevron, Shell Pull Out Of Olokola LNG Project by AWKAMADEGUN: 10:42pm On Aug 25, 2013
edo.girl:
It's all down to viability. Truth is LNG is yesterday's news. The world has moved on. Nigeria's biggest LNG project (Brass LNG)has been stuck in phase 2 (called Train 2) when it was planned to have 4 trains. The multinational oil companies are also involved in that project.

The price of LNG collapsed on the world market a few years back, and though it has improved a bit, new gas discoveries have been made in many more countries (including East Africa)thus meaning there are more supply sources. Paradoxically, much of Nigeria's gas can't be sold locally due to low domestic prices.

With LNG no longer in hot demand (as it was when Olokola and the other projects were planned), and no viable domestic market, any surprise investors are pulling back. Investors are hard-nosed profiteers. They are no mugs.

To compound LNG's problem, there is the phenomenon that is shale gas, which is reshaping America's (and soon the world's) energy market. With the discovery of shale gas, LNG prices in America are so low that if you got a ship-load of Nigerian LNG for free, and ship it to the US, by the time it arrives there, the cost of shipping alone will ensure that the 'free' LNG will still be almost as expensive as the current cost of LNG in the American market.

As far as LNG is concerned, OLOKOLA IS DEAD. It's not politics. The project, and others in Nigeria simply are not adding up anymore. What to do is to keep it alive for other industries, and the proposed Dangote refinery is a good step. It can become a cluster for allied petrochemical, plastic, and other industries. It can still achieve serious success.

What we should be doing as a country is seriously looking at rebalancing the economy away from its over dependence on oil. But when you have a political class whose sole desire is to loot, there is no hope of any such rebalancing happening. They are simply not interested.

Ever wondered how much energy, resources, and valuable time this Presidency was spending on Amaechi and PDP's political machinations in Anambra? You get it! Their own personal financial considerations are far more important to them.

That is the point these clowns fail to catch..

Am sure u know what Uba and the Uba clan represents? Eselu tries to lord it over Ngige, they miserably failed....now with his brother(God forbid) at the helms of affair....your guess is as good as mine

The same comatose APGA gasping for breath like a child who has just been chased by a lion is the party you reckon to still have the salvation of Ndi Anambra in its hand??....how do you people continue to do things the same way and expect different result??

Is it not a known secret that Peter Obi wants to install a stooge, errand boy and a puppet while Victor Umeh also wants someone who can always open the till to him

Infact with APGA and PDP in Anambra, its a game of the highest bidders

So why is it that you are worried over who leads us? Are you not supposed to be worried on how the criminal tinubu is wrecking SW with huge debt profile.

FYI: Andy Uba is far better than Ngige, at least he has proved that in the Senate. For 2yrs Ngige did not move any motion talkless of sponsoring any bill. Ngige was good when he was in PDP, but immediately he went to ACN he became corrupt and incompetent.

APC is not in any election in Anambra, because even goats talk more of Anambrans will not vote any boko haram party.

The contest is between APGA and PDP.

Go mark it somewhere...

Where did you get your gibberish that chekwas founded APGA? You always like feeling good with your usual comments.

Why are yerobas now more interested in SE particularly Anambra politics? It goes to show how desperate some people can be. If you guys are hoping on Ngige; well I have one message for you guys, it is failed mission for boko haram party APC in Anambra.

Ngige is a good man but he has been corrupted by fraudsters and boko haram elements. So there is no way on earth shall Anambrans vote for anything party that has 'haram' as its signature or trademark.

APC is a combination of boko haram sponsors, so it cannot win any election anywhere talk more of center of Igboland- Anambra which produces the best of human capital in Nigeria.
