Politics / Re: Babangida’s Endorsement Of APC Rattles PDP by aworila: 7:43am On Mar 03, 2013
We can blame past leaders and outside forces that may have helped them loot and destroy our country all we want, but until we admit that there is a problem with the citizenry, Nigeria is going nowhere.

What kind of spineless people are we? We let armed robbers into our homes to loot, rape and kill. The only recourse most of us have, is to run to our different religious enclaves to give thanks that we survived the attack.

If you lost your life in one of those attacks, I wonder how you are going to justify yourself to the almighty that the life he gave you, you couldn't even fight for it.

We are a bunch of religious pretenders. We sure are not Godly. Every Nigerian wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die. I wonder how we get there.

@byrron
Thanks for a well articulated post. I do agree with you, something is definitely wrong with the citizenry.
Business / Re: I can change my name to Mallam Bakare to get loan from Islamic bank by aworila: 10:05pm On Jul 30, 2011
BetaThings articulated things well above I hope i.e. Islamic banking will be under the umbrella of Non-interest Banking.

How did non-interest banking got hijacked, and now perceived to be for Muslims only anyway? Isn't the fact that we now have Brothers and Sisters at each others throat, enough for people to stop and think?

I am of the opinion that the Central Bank of Nigeria (a secular state) is going to moderate this issue. Shouldn't it therefore be illegal for a bank to ask me for my religious affiliation before taking my deposit or granting me a loan? But Nigeria being a failed state, I don't know how that is going to work.

Most of the utterances from the various so called religious leaders are to say the least shameful in the context of a secular state.

I hope the big Imams will use funds from their depositors to help them in return by way of this non-interest banking. Likewise I hope Pastors will see this as a way of helping their flock, with the enormous funds flowing to them, but I guess private jets are really difficult to resist.

There is a lot of poverty in the failed state called Nigeria. It is shameful and it doesn't have to be so.

Technology Market / Re: Guaranteed Laptop Contract: Are You The Supplier? by aworila: 11:05pm On Oct 15, 2009
@mapleville.

I am in the States, but my very best friend is back home in Lagos with the units and will seal the deal with you.

Call Babs on 0803-398-7722 tomorrow and he will sort you out. I gave him your number as well.

Babs knows the drill. The units should still be boxed and the compaq tape unbroken. I left instructions that whoever opens the box buys the unit.

Goodluck with the contract.

Look two threads below this thread for this post.

"Compaq C776nr, Pentium Dual Core, 3gb Ram, 160gb Hd., Webcam, WiFi, USA Specs."

I may also have the Compaq C772nr, 1gb Ram, 160gh HD but no webcam that the Clearance price is now N80,000.

I do have to let my friend know that I have decided to sell at that price though.

I am not in Naija, but my friend can handle the deal for me without any hitch.

Technology Market / Re: Digital Camera by aworila: 6:16am On Oct 15, 2009
@ comrade2009

I have an Olympus SP-500 that I never took out of the box. I bought two memories (1gb and 2gb)to go with it thinking I was going to be doing a lot of photography but never really got around to it. You can have everything for my cost price of N60,000 if you want.

I don,t know your real specification for the 10megapixel Professional Nikon camera, but I am guessing you are looking at 75k to 100k for that one.

Let me know what you think.

Clearance! Clearance!! Clearance!!!

Price of package is now reduced to N100,000.

I am now selling well below my cost for the package. These are fantastic units that are serving the owners that bought at 130k well as I have had no complaints ( some of them are friends and family).

The cooling pad is effective and I use them for all of our laptops. It simply elevates your laptop to allow airflow underneath, and the cooling effect of that will prolong the life of your system especially the battery.

You also get a leather bag to protect your priced possesion.

Place your order today.

Autos / Re: 2000 Honda Accord V6 For Sale 1.25m by aworila: 6:14pm On Jan 19, 2009
Obodo5, as soon as I finalize who is going to handle the transaction for me I will post contact info.

Mus, I am sorry I do not have pictures of this car to post right now, as I did not intend selling it before it got containerized 5 weeks ago. The car is green with no dings or scratches. It is a V6 3.0L Engine with 200 horses under the hood. Auto transmission and power everything including the sunroof, all of which still works. Leather seats, Cd player, Ice cold AC. In short the USA specification of the 2000 accord V6 sedan with no options added. I did not add any options then as I would rather the dealers didn't abuse the car, by installing things that did not come from the factory.
Autos / 2000 Honda Accord V6 For Sale 1.25m by aworila: 6:19am On Jan 19, 2009
2000 Honda Accord V6. VIN 1HGCG1651YA100231
140,000 miles, one owner ( I have owned this car since I bought it in 2000), always dealer serviced.
Container due to arrive first week of February.

Asking a non-negotiable 1.25m for which you get:
1. The car
2. New Brake linings from Honda (which I thought I might need within a few months of driving the car in Nigeria).
3. 4 New tires with 80,000 mile thread warranty (the current tires have about 20,000 miles to go).

I shipped this home with the intention of using it myself, whenever I come home, but my plans have changed.
I will supply contact information for interested parties in due course.
