Dear VO,

This is to say a big THANK YOU for your input during my brother's immigration visa processing.
He has joined my parents and I appreciate your answering all our questions during the period.

I wish you would still be here for me and my sister when we will be scheduled but I know it is not possible.
You have indeed be a succor to a lot of Nigerians and have never failed to answer our numerous questions no matter how silly in may seem. I know you sometimes have to take extra coffee to understand some of our questions wink

We wish you the very best in your next tour and I pray that you find favour before God and men.
May people will come to your aid before you ask for help.

Thank you so much.

Dear VO,

Congratulations on your Parents' Golden Anniversary!
Wishing them more wonderful years together.

My brother eventually picked his passport/Visa yesterday.
Thanks so much for answering our numerous questions through the process. We are indeed grateful

I need to clarify if he is expected to make any payment before he leaves, he was given a leaflet that he should pay $165 for green card, I assumed all necessary payments have been made by my Parent.

Also, congratulations to you all on a peaceful (with some exceptions) election! Nigeria has much to be proud of, all because of YOU and your fellow citizens of all political persuasions. Nicely done! You're a beacon to the world.

Thanks so much VO,

He will send a mail to LagosIV@state.gov to request for an update by the end of next week, I guess it would have been reviewed by then.

We are all so glad we had a peaceful Presidential election, we all had our hearts in our mouths.
The economic situation is picking up and am sure It will be back to normal once we conclude the next set of elections.

Have a wonderful holiday Maam.

Dear VO,

Why are cases put on administrative processing?
Will the applicant be contacted when such happens?

Thanks

I am asking because I am worried, I shared with you that my brother went for his interview on March 12 and all went well only that he was asked to submit NPC birth certificate and AOS from my parent which he did and dropped off about two weeks after his interview though he could not get NPC birth cert because he was born before 1992 when the commission was established but they gave him a letter instead.

I even asked you for an update after he submitted the docs but u said I should give some more time. I was surprised when I checked the status to confirm if the VISA is ready but saw Administrative processing.

How long does Administrative processing take?

Dear VO,

Please can you help get an update on my brother's case, he submitted the required documents and passport at the DHL center yesterday morning.
His case number is LGS2009740010.

It's absolutely fine to apply for a non-immigrant visa while you have a pending immigrant petition. That said, it is more difficult to convince an officer that you intend to return to Nigeria when you're clearly an intending immigrant; but it's not impossible. We recognize that people have valid reasons to travel temporarily to the U.S. while awaiting their immigrant visa interviews. Good luck!

Thanks so much. I will give it a try.

As per my brother, it went well. Though he needs to drop off two docs along with his passport.
He will do that tomorrow and hopefully pick it back next week.

Am so elated. smiley

Thanks so much for all! You have been of great help.

Yes, but he will be responsible for the accuracy of the form. If anything important is incorrect, he can't say "Well, I wasn't the one who filled it out." smiley

No, a photocopy is sufficient in this case. If we need more evidence we'll let him know.

Dear VO,

My brother is with you today. I pray all goes well.

please I have another question.

My parent a USC already petitioned for myself and my sister but our cases are still pending because we had to move from F1 to F3.
I have another sister in the US and her graduation is in May, I would love to be at the occasion with my baby and his cousin (My Nigeria sister's child). We intend to apply for visiting VISAs so that we can be at the graduation.

Is there any law restricting us from visiting the US because we have pending immigrant visa application cases?

Welcome back! I have been refreshing the page to read you response.

My Sister is not at the Embassy today.
She sent a mail to lagosIV@state.gov yesterday, she got a response that her email has been forwarded to the appropriate unit and she should wait for a substantive response.
I will let you know once she gets any other response.

Meanwhile, my brother has an interview next week. From all I read from the thread he has to fill the DS-260/261and bring along the confirmation page. Can I fill it for him as I have all his information with me?

I would also like to know the meaning of "A certified copy of your relative’s passport showing the picture page, biographic data page, and with stamps indicating travel between Nigeria and the United States"
All he has is the photocopy. Does this mean it has to be signed by a lawyer? please help clarify this.

Thank you so much
VisaOfficer:

Greetings! I imagine your sister is here today. Her visa category will change from F1 to F3, and she will need to wait a few years before her case becomes current again. But she will be able to travel with her husband and children, so it will all be worth the wait.

Hello VO, please my parent a USC petitioned for my sister while she was single but she is now married with Kids, she has been scheduled for an interview this week though she tried informing NVC of the changes in her case but she hasn't gotten any response from them till today. Kindly advise on the next step she should take.
