sisicanada:Easy commute to where? There would most likely be a bus stop 10 mins or less from the house but if you leave in the East end and need to commute to the West end, it would most likely take you 2 hours. To properly answer the easy commute question, we need to know the destination. |

House34:Your statement is contradictory. If all files get to Sydney and are redistributed based on post code, don't you think places with a high population will be slower irrespective of mode of application? Anyway applications are not processed based on post code. My application was processed 8 hours away from where I stay. Infact, they were at least 3 IRCC offices closer to my house than the office that processed my application. The judge for my ceremony was from a different province. If an office has 10 people working on citizenship files, that office would be faster than an office with just 3 people. 2 Likes |

Agriculture / Re: FEC Bans Foreigners From Purchasing Agricultural Produce At The Farm Gate by AZeD1(m): 1:50am On Mar 10, 2022 |
Sanchez01: The answer is the produce more not say the Dutch buyer should not buy anymore. If one person can buy all the produce in there market, it means you are not producing enough and the solution to not producing enough is to produce more. What exactly is the role of the buying agent? Anyway, when tomorrow you are told the only way to be a buying agent is to know a senator and a cabal has decided to hike the price of food do not complain. |
Agriculture / Re: FEC Bans Foreigners From Purchasing Agricultural Produce At The Farm Gate by AZeD1(m): 9:46pm On Mar 09, 2022 |
Sanchez01: What you are saying is what will happen. Here's how it works. Foreigners buy 10,000 from Adamu, Musa sees Adamu balling and decides to start producing. Both the foreign buyers and locals can now buy because everyone is now producing. Once upon a time, MTN sim card was 40,000 and calls were charged by the minute, Glo entered the market and prices have been on a downward trend since then. Free market. 2 Likes |

Travel / Re: Canada Rush: What Desperate Nigerian Asylum Seekers Are Saying About Nigeria by AZeD1(m): 4:34pm On Jan 04, 2022 |
Nonpartisan1: There are agents in this business but they don't tell people the truth. Canada has a serious backlog of refugees claims so it can take up to three years for your case to be heard and and two for appeals. In that time, the claimants are allowed to work so this agents use this as advert. I helped person A ,B, C to Canada and they've been there for 3 years without telling them the true story. This article said 66% are denied but the truth is closer to 80%. For those that get their cases approved, they cannot visit Nigeria again as the moment they do, their asylum claim with be invalidated. 12 Likes 3 Shares |

After a while outside the country, Nigeria feels different. The first thing you notice is the noise and heat. From April 2019 to December 2021, I drove about 53K Km and I used my horn 5 times and the 5th time was just to disturb a friend. In Nigeria, I try not to use the horn but people use the horn as a toy. There are no lane marking on some part of 3rd mainland and Oshodi - Gbagada road. Like WTF? Nobody has billed me. All my friends are currently doing very well in Nigeria. I don't trust Google maps in Nigeria. It hasn't be so accurate for me. Oh lastly security makes everyone that calling me by 8pm but in my base, I go out to jog by 2am. Did I mention the heat? Update 1 Another difference I just remembered is buying fuel/gas. Since I left Nigeria, It's only once I have had to buy gas/fuel and it was sold by an attendant. 99% of gas/fuel stations are self service. Tap your card, dispense fuel and go. 30 Likes 2 Shares |

flexyrule:Engineers by training do design. That's the work of an engineer. You can find the curriculum of any school in the world including MIT and Harvard and it would be 80% similar to that of Nigerian schools with the difference being in the elective courses. If you want hands-on experience, go to a technical school. |

seunmsg: Have you heard of VPN? Nigerians in Nigeria are on Twitter. The only people not on Twitter are those that don't want to be on Twitter. There's no alternative to Twitter, it's not like the government can tell people either choose Twitter or something else. The big losers are ordinary Nigerians who do remote work. Trump was banned and people said it's the end of Twitter yet it's still growing. The Buhari government will come and go... 4 Likes |

Zodiacwarrior:Nobody can really answer the question for you. At the airport, your box will be checked and it should be about 23kg +/-. The box you buy is dependent on you. If you want a box that weights 8k, that's fine. You can also get a bag that weighs 1kg and that's also fine. At the end of the day, the box/bags and it's content should be 23kg +/-. 6 Likes |

austinceasar: Even programmers with 15 years of experience still use online resources for things that look simple. Start by building small programs e.g a program to add two numbers, then do for three numbers e.t.c Remember you are not in competition with anyone so take your time to learn as much as you need. There's no shame in watching YouTube videos 5 times. PS: As you are watching the videos and reading the books, you should practice along by typing the code. You won't learn by just watching the videos. 32 Likes |

Vinnie2000:You think "girl friends" and "Olosho" don't hustle? You really think this lady is not going to buy designers bags? The reason why governors can give their girl friends and Olosho money is because of people like you. You can bet that someone has given his girlfriend money from this because the governor spent money without planning for it. All this giveaways are the avenues politicians use to loot because the money wasn't documented. |

Politics / Re: Dangote Wants Only Refinery License Holders To Import Fuel by AZeD1(m): 4:27pm On Feb 28, 2021 |
Godarz:This is not really true. You can predict the future from looking at the past. Nigeria has one of the most expensive cement prices in the world. Infact, you can import cement from China and it will be way cheaper than Dangote cement. The question now becomes of what benefit is it to Nigeria as a country when we have a massive housing shortage and expensive cement prices? Open the market to everybody, it should be a raise to the bottom. If Dangote can refine fuel cheaper than those importing, they would go out of business. The reason why Dangote wants importation to be limited is market manipulation. |
Programming / Re: Why So Many Junior Developers Struggle To Get An Opportunity. by AZeD1(m): 1:39pm On Feb 24, 2021 |
1) Saying MongoDB isn't used in production is false and misleading 2) Off the top of my head, Paystack and Buycoins were built with Nodejs. It's not a nothing language or a fad. 3) The advice should be learn to program and not learn a language. Understanding the difference between learning to program and learning a programming language will take you far. 4) The aim of side projects should be to learn, it doesn't matter if it's a calculator or a to-do list. Your should learn something or reinforce something you've learnt before. The goal of a side project should be to learn not the project itself. 5) At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what language you know, I've gotten jobs in Java, Ruby, Scala, Go and Nodejs without ever knowing those languages because someone earlier told me about point number 3. 6) An advice I would love to have been given when I started out is this, ensure your learning is focused. This is related to point number 4. As a junior dev before you start a side project ask yourself what am I trying to learn? Building a to-do list just to learn about promises in JavaScript is a good thing. Rebuilding that to-do list with MongoDB just to learn how MongoDB works is valid and good. When you start out, most companies want to know you can learn and are teachable so being able to explain what a promise is in JavaScript will get you a job faster than having a million side projects and not knowing the basics. 7) If you ever have the opportunity to take a course in data structures and algorithms, do it. While you might never work in Google or Facebook, the knowledge would help you become a better developer. 17 Likes 2 Shares |
