I've been done with school since but it would be nice to hear from "smart" people like you why the CDS should take pictures of criminals instead of apprehending them.

FG is in charge of generation while DISCOs are in charge of transmission.Dont being the silly narrative by Fashola into this issue.
FG is not in charge of Generation and distribution. The power stations were sold by GEJ.

Egbin is now owned by Sahara group
Ughelli is now owned by Transcorp
Kanji and Jebba are owned by Mainstream Energy

Femi Otedola owns either Olorunsogo or Papalanto I can't remember
Davido's dad also owns one also.

The only part the FG owns is Transmission.

nwakibie3:

Consider the following words which were sent to me by an insider who wishes to remain anonymous.

“Air Chief Alex Badeh the former Chief of Defence Staff who called the Nigerian President, Mohammadu Buhari a “religious bigot” to his face was assasinated yesterday after he had threatened to expose the government over its involvement with Boko Haram prior to removing Jonathan. Just before he left office, he visited Maiduguri in a covet operation and ran into some top members of the current day government as they were coming out of a meeting with Boko Haram Commanders at the Nigerian Army underground Armory which was siezed by Boko Haram. He ordered his boys not to open fire but took pictures which he refused to hand over to the government when he was retired. He raised an alarm first week in November 2018 when 2 hooded men tried to break into his Asokoro house but DSS played it down. He was assassinated in cold blood by unknown gun men one month later”.

I cannot confirm the veracity of some of these assertions but two things are self-evident. Firstly that he was indeed murdered on December 18th and secondly that there is a dimension to this matter that few are familiar with.
So the chief of defence staff whose job is to protect the nation, sees Boko Haram commanders and their fellow conspirators but rather than apprehend them, he decides to take pictures?

Calling this foolish and r.etarded is an understatement.

Fani Kayode should know that it is possible to dislike Buhari and still be sane.

Hello guys, thanks for all your posts so far, they have been most helpful. A friend of mine keeps telling me to travel with my electronics. I keep refusing because I don’t think I would be able to use them in Canada. Please what are your thoughts on this. I don’t want to later regret passing up good advice after I have landed. Thanks
My advice would be to not travel with them.

Are you sure?

I know atleast 2 single women who could not dedicate their babies in their regular churches because they are unmarried. They both had to arrange with a pastor in a much smaller church, pay some money and dedicate their infants.

That's wrong. Even Jesus did not chase the prostitute away.

Thank you so much. There is always shortage of Civil Engineers everywhere in Canada but these guys seem to not let that change their hiring preference. Its much like the case of doctors. I started hunting BC even before I landed, I even joined BCASSN.

Another thing I find is that I need to reorient my skills to that of North American industry if I expect to start out at intermediate positions. So save for entry level positions, I have grey areas to cover. Stuff like building codes and design codes, and some core technical competencies that are peculiar to the industry here(My focus has been in consulting environment). I am already working on those, while still job hunting. I have volunteered for an engineering internship program that starts next week, and I am hopeful it would help me get my foot in the door.

PS: no one should give up over what i have said. I have heard of a couple of engineers that landed jobs not long after they landed, and some before they did. But what i find is that they usually have western degrees or experience, while some just switch to alternative careers. Still there is no one cap fits all here, hunt for your job, you can get it.
I was surprised when he said there was a shortage of Civil Engineers because we have a family friend with a Phd and she was finding it hard to get a job although she has no "field" experience.

Good to know the opportunities are there and I wish you all the best in the internship.

She come ask what have you done since you arrived, I clear her the work wey boys dey take hold body, i been try package the work but e be like she no chop the package... Next thing aunty say "do you plan on going back to school?"... The way the question drop eh, Aswear it didnt sound like a question at all o! Lol e be like she been dey gimme sisterly advice. If you are a Civil Engineer, I think you should seriously consider BC. My Cousin is there and he says there's a shortage of Civil Engineers.

PS: He has years of experience working in the UK so that might have counted in his favour.

let start seeing NFF rushing to eat where they didn't sow, give the boy some few years and when they notice he is becoming an emerging star you will see Nigeria putting pressure on the boy and his family to come and play for Nigeria but they will not plan to help the boy develop his football now.
Can you explain what you want the NFF to do?

you just dont get it do you,
With the leahy law which he rigorously pursued( which is what you do when you have a weapon to use against someone that is legal( Soft power), we could not do business with legal country to country basis with the west impossible, with the east a big degree of uncertainty about deliveries, the only option underground buy with its own wahala, overbloated prices and still uncertainity.
Could we buy from china, not in the open
Could we buy from russia , we did via poland.

Now please think
We could buy from China in the open.

Also the standard military rifle of the Army is the AK which is Russian made that means any weapon GEJ planned to buy would not have been delivered in 2015 so saying Obama handicapped GEJ in 2015 doesn't add up.

The leahy law was used to stop all, i repeat all attempted aquisition from any legal military suppliers eg our attempts to buy the atak helo from turkey then, a frigate from germany, etc many things you dont know ,it led to us going underground and using fronts to purchase weapons as well as going through porous baltic countries

Thats how we got our BMPs, T-72s etc from Autocraz in poland, supplied via russia.
So we could get weapons from other countries e.g Russia and China, and Obama did not enact Leahy's law so why is GEJ blaming Obama for not being able to get weapons to defeat Boko Haram?

GEJ bought a lot of weapons from different countries to tackle BH..

He needed that American special fighter helicopter to deal a fatal blow to BH. This is happening in February/March 2015 ..The time is limited for him to turn to China.

So, why did Obama refused to sell weapons to GEJ?
Leahy's Law. Read that up.

As for your theory on GEJ needing special helicopters to finish Boko haram, my question is are you this ignorant?

Buying Military hardware is different from buying bread. It takes years for military hardware to be delivered and if GEJ needed helicopters for the fight against Boko Haram in 2015, he should have ordered them since 2011.

How does this answer the question?
If Obama stopped GEJ from buying weapons to defeat Boko Haram, why didn't GEJ buy from Putin? There's no way in the world Obama could have stopped Putin from selling weapons so why didn't GEJ buy from them?

Why didn't GEJ also buy from China?

Shalom oga AZeD1, but those are just 3 cases out of .... hundreds thousands . In my opinion, it is insufficient to come to the conclusion that a Nigerian who crosses the US Canada border will be rejected by the refugee board. Adding to that each person's case is treated on its own merit.

How is computer programming by the way?
I just shared those 3 for now. If you check the site, you would see more. As of now, the current report is 7 out of 10 asylum requests from Nigeria are rejected. Also going through the rejected cases, you would see that the asylum board is asking why didn't you relocate in Nigeria (Internal Flight Alternative).

Also remember 2019 is an election year and immigration is a very touchy subject.

Programming is fine......

Lol, I read through the cases and most of their claims were bogus and they did not provide proper evidence . When one wants to claim asylum in a country, one has to bring proper evidence.
Its hard to provide proper evidence when you went to the US on a tourist visa. You already have a record and at your visa interview, you gave the visa officer the impression that you would return back to the country.
At her asylum hearing, the first question she would be asked is why didn't she apply for asylum in the US. If your life was so threatened that you dread returning back to your country, you would not wait 4 years before filing asylum.

Did she say she wasn't a refugee or you are assuming she isn't a refugee.
She hasn't been answering questions about the father of her kids. How do you know if he is the reason she had fled with the kids?
Don't you know that abused women can apply for refugee status in Canada?
Anyway, it is up to the refugee board in Canada to determine if op is a refugee
The refugee board is not smiling. You are a Nigerian and you crossed from the US, it would take a miracle to be granted immigration status. Go through the following cases below and see.

She'll be asked why didn't she claim the refugee status in the US. Those who are claiming homosexuality, Genital mutilation and Boko haram are also being denied.

Those of you who have stayed in canada for years do you long for your own country?

If Nigerians believed in ethics and morals the country would be better and we wouldn't have to leave the country.

Hi Everyone,

I am planning to land in Ottawa with hubby in two weeks time, we are currently looking for a one bed apartment downtown. Please any suggestions on the best way to go about thus. I have checked kijjiji and the rest of them but not yet successful. I don't even mind sharing a house and having a private room for myself and hubby.

Kijiji is still your best bet. Like someone has said, AirBnB would be better for a start as I would not advise anyone to take a house without first inspecting, especially in the winter.
