Actually it’s not trash it’s a very insightful and informative post and he is totally right! The only issue is he didn’t also state how pmb policies have added to the slow down on the economy caused by these necessary and good adjustments by his Govt. Besides a very late cabinet he started well bt a year after he went from one mistake to another, continuously taking the wrong decision that is where pmbs issues began now. I mean he had a lot of goodwill and support before bt not rite now. Herdsmen killings and cow embarrassment, abuse of the rule of law and human rights, bad economic policies is Worse corruption!!!!

I’m almost ashamed I supported him and yes Pmb is responsible for making Atiku look like a saint to us tho I believe Atiku may have learnt sm lessons from his past mistakes.

If Atiku can atleast curb corruption and get Nigeria working he will win very easily.
The post might look insightful to you because you have no idea how things work in the real world.

lol its not that clubbing is bad its when u become so much addicted to it that it affects u.it affects ur working capacity in ur place of work wen u club every night and also the high tendency of having unprotected sex with a random club girl if u drunk or the issue of u keeping late nights when ur wife is at home anxiously waiting for u.those are just the disadvantages cheesy.

Go through the thread, there are lots of people who say clubbing is bad and they mean stepping inside the club just once.

You are right. People come to clubs with different intentions. I always try to go clubbing in every country I visit just to see and experience the night life there but according to those more holy than Christ, once you step your feet into a club, you have sinned but none of them has been able to mention the sin committed oh, they just know you have sinned.

Dancing is a very good form of exercise and a good christian takes care of his mind and body. Oh sorry I forgot exercising "adds nothing to the spirit man" so its probably a sin too.

live your life as it pleases you

Wait!!! Why do you sound different? I can't just believe you can compose a more prolific wordings instead of those rhetoric insults u throw at me. Now I can pick points from your write-ups. The only problem with minimum wage argument is the value of our currency. Do you remember the minimum wage was increased from 8k to the current 18k?which was even more valuable than the current proposed wage And there was no inflation as much as you thought there would be. I still want to know how you think we can increase the value of our currency.
To increase our currency, we need more people around the world buying the naira, which means we need to produce more goods the world wants.

Having a low value currency is not necessarily a bad thing as the yen and reminibi have shown.

The average factory worker in China earns $27.50 per day, compared with $8.60 in Indonesia and $6.70.

If we had a serious government or a government with a plan, we would have be working to steal some of those manufacturing jobs from China and South Asia.

At $5 a day times 20 days a month gives $100 which is 35k in naira more than what labour is asking for.

To voice your opinion, obnoxious statement should be avoided. Do away from insults and Verbiage use of words.

If money is not made from the government, how then do you expect a common farmer to own his farm. You probably don't understand my analogy. I will refer you to https://www.heritage.org/jobs-and-labor/report/the-economy-hits-home-what-makes-the-economy-grow

I earlier called you BMC fellow because you still believe anything the mendaciloquence politicians says. The budget you are referring to is full of money going back to their pockets.

Tell me why they weren't able to pay 18k, was it because there was no money?

I still believe investing in Human capital development is the best way to go in Nigeria. Make Loans available to farmers, increase the value of your workers so that they will be able to buy from farmers and the farmer will be able to pay back the loan with interest. I still don't know how to bold sentence on Nairaland I 4 don bold this for you. Desist from the prevaricated statement they had fed u with.

A Country of about 200million is still languishing on how to go about governance.
To make a text bold, highlight the text and click on the 'B' button just above the reply box. That said, there's wishful thinking and there's pragmatism. I prefer to be pragmatic. It would be nice if political office holders reduce they emoluments and stop looting but that's wishful thinking.

Government can work towards increasing salaries and if we go by past antecedents, everything else will increase so the only thing that has increased the amount workers are receiving but the value might probably have decreased.

Government can also work towards reducing the cost of living which would ensure that the current money they earn would increase in value. If the price of food can drop just 30%, peoples lives would be better.
You made one good point in your last post which is increasing loans to farmers.

When you increase minimum wage, all workers across the spectrum get an increase including directors and permanent secretaries who are already on decent wages. The goal should be helping the lowest of the low and the government can start by not taxing anyone who earns less than 45k (I don't know if they are currently taxed).

Then you need to go back to school. Tell me what happens when money does not flourish in a country. I have to quote this from The Heritage Foundation " when a farmer tends an apple orchard and then sells the apples, he gets money to buy what he needs for his own use and to sustain his apple business, while customers get the apples, which they prefer to the money they give the farmer. Income has been created by developing products that consumers want. If the farmer saves rather than spends some of the proceeds, he can invest the money and create even more income in the future" The economy grows when individuals and businesses succeed in recognizing new markets and new opportunities and accept the risks involved in pursuing these opportunities in the hope of earning income. But imagine when these markets are available but no one Buys it, they are going to pack up and leave that country to invest in another country.

Rail or Road construction shouldn't be our priority but our priority should be human capital development. Increase minimum wage which in turn increases tax paid back to the government. When wages are increased, increase school fee and standard of our tertiary institutions which will later in the years be the best for our country.

You are here spitting nonsense. They are telling you there is no money in the country and you are listening to the dissemblers. You argue what you don't know without explanations. I bet you don't live on 18k in a month but you are comfortable seeing your countrymen living on 18k.

I still believe we can pay 60k as minimum wage which is taxable by 20%.

You are a special kind of dull person. From your analogy, the farmer produced an apple before he got paid, he wasn't given the money first in the hope that he would produce something.

Money isn't made from air, so for the government to increase salary, it first has to source the money from somewhere. Now a smart person would know that the last budget was partly funded by loans and any increase to the budget without an increase in productivity means an increase in borrowing which comes with its own costs.

At 18k, close to 25 out of 36 states couldn't pay salaries what do you think would happen to states that can't pay the 18k when it becomes 30k?

I guess you are a BMC fellow who doesn't know anything... You need to understand that the politicians are spending more than what the minimum wage of workers should be. They spend, embezzle and divert enough fund that can be allocated to Productive workers. Imagine what 18k was in 2014 compared to 18k in 2018.. 18k in 2015 was $100 while 18k in 2018 is just $48 and price of commodity has increased by 300%. How do you want the country to be productive when there is no flow of money. If a worker could get 30k, he will extend this to the foodstuff seller around him and other stuffs that he needs. Market will flourish which will in turn reduce the price of commodity and will improve the value of our currency
1) You don't know me but but you've already assigned a label to me which is frankly the sign of unintelligent people.
2) If you had listened in class when your teacher was talking, you would know that the bold part of your statement is trash. The basic definition of in inflation is too much money chasing fewer goods. You don't increase salary because you want production to increase.
3) Like I said in my earlier post, hope is not a strategy. No Governor will reduce his spending because he needs to pay salary.

look Mr man its not by force to serve God

And you should stop misleading people with your fake doctrine

I said Jesus converted her by preaching to her.

He wasn't just 'chilling ' he was transforming her and tax collectors through the word being preached

The transformation didn't happen overnight, it was a long term thing. Even the Pharisees wondered what a supposed holy man was doing with a person of the "world"

stop reading what you want to read to justify yourself

if you want to club , please do. I didn't mention you when I made my comment

stop quoting me and arguing blindly.

I still take my stand on what I said earlier.

A christian who wants to walk and grow with God won't waste their time on frivolities such as clubbing.

Clubbing might be frivolous to you but it might not be to the next. An expensive perfume was poured on Jesus and those around him thought that was frivolous but Jesus thought otherwise

Christianity isn't by force.

Live your life the way you like it

I am living my life the way I like

At the end of the day all flesh will give account to God on how they lived their lives. if they wasted it on frivolous things or lived it doing his work.

Like I said earlier, frivolity is relative and you can't base Christianity on what you think is frivolous or not.

ps: I know someone who thinks time spent on nairaland is frivolous.

That thing you are chasing will live you the moment you drop dead. Not a single handkerchief will follow you to the grave

At the end of the day, its still your choice not mine.
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

why not . Jesus did
but not to sleep with them

rather him being their friend changed their lives for the best.

Mary Magdalene a former was the first person to announce the resurrection of Jesus

So those who walk in the spirit can chill with a prostitute but cannot hangout with their friends in a building called a club?

Your brand of Christianity is one of a kind.

By the way how does chilling with a prostitute help the "spirit man" grow?
Politics / Re: Is This Why Governor Umahi Has Been Crying Over New Minimum Wage? by AZeD1(m): 4:16pm On Nov 08, 2018
Dave Umahi is right. It's sad but its the truth. Nigeria is neither a productive country nor a rich country and every year we keep digging the grave of the country further.

The last budget of the country has us spending about 75% of the budget on recurrent and just 25% on capital expenditure. A certain percentage of the budget (40% is my guess) is being funded by borrowing. An increase from 18k to 30k is a 67% increment.
So the country is about to increase recurrent expenditure by 67% without an increase in productivity? If we continue down this route, by 2021/2022, our entire budget would be funded by borrowing and it would be used just to pay salaries till we can't borrow again.

Hope is not a strategy.

All these people going on about Pharisees, I can't even bother replying them. It's like fornicating and saying it isn't a sin. Just acknowledge taht that it's wrong but you still want to keep at it because you like it.

How is fornicating and going to club the same thing? Did you fornicate when you followed your friends? Even if you did was it everyone there that fornicated?.

I am still waiting for someone to please tell me what goes on in a club, that doesn't happen in a cinema, a wedding and the beach.

what purpose was unilag built for ?

Do you know what a club is? Let me help you out a night club an establishment for nighttime entertainment, typically serving drinks and offering music, dancing, etc.

was it built to harbour all kinds of promiscuity or as a citadel of learning.

I'm guessing you also think hotels were built for promiscuity too.

All kinds of people are present in unilag, including those who are 'poor and pure in spirit'

All kinds of people are present in clubs also

the same can't be said for those who flock clubs

Says who?

I'm not saying that clubbers are the worst sinners

Who told you they are sinners in the first place?

but the more you mix with certain types of people , act and speak in certain ways the more your spirit is corrupted and distant from God. The more we sin, the more we create a void between God and us and one day the spirit can choose to leave.

The same people who go to clubs, go to the same schools, offices, malls e.t.c so you mix up with them so what's your point? or is the devil only in them when they are in the club?

it is impossible to compare unilag to a clubhouse because just ad the purpose for which both were built for are different so is the SUM TOTAL of the population that flock into it

Nobody compared unilag to a club. The question was what happens in a club that doesn't happen in unilag?

The purpose of your walk on earth as a christian is to 'grow ' in the spirit

You can't avoid going to school and maybe seeing one or two scantily dressed ladies ( for example)that could tempt you. You need school

This is 2018, you can get degrees online and did you say one or two scantily dressed ladies?

But why deliberately go to an incinerator when you don't want to attract flies?

Of what benefit is the club to your spirit man as a growing christian

Same benefit going to the beach, Cinema, a wedding or any social gathering

That was why I said earlier thag many Christians don't know who their identity in Christ . if they do they would walk around with pride and not associate with anything that would taint their spirit man.

The Pharisees also believed no true follower of God would be seen with a sinner yet alone dine with them ( of which one was a prostitute). Of what benefit is chilling with a prostitute to your spirit man?

In christianity sin is sin irrespective of were the sin was committed. It would be nice for you to mention what exactly makes going to club a sin. That shouldn't be hard to answer right?

Still on intent here, Lot and his family were in Sodom and Gomorrah where different kinds of stuff like seen in the club were done(I know it's way too high a comparism, but we know similar stuff do happen in both)

Lot and his family tried hard to ensure there was no influence in the midst of these people that made God to send angels to burn the city.

But Lot could only try cos influence had gotten to both his wife and his daughters. Lot must have been a very pious and strong hearted fellow to not allow such acts influence him.

So unless you're like Lot, you'll just turn out the way his wife and kids turned out if you go clubbing often.

You were fast to attack the boldened but didn't you see in my next paragraph the part I acknowledged the fact that people go to church for different reasons as well?

Haba na. Don't be like this.

Im still on the mindset that Christ came for sinners, he associated with them but didn't do the things they do. Don't use our very Savior to justify Iniquity and sinful acts. That's the line there.

As for your boldened, do you think I'm a fool that would swallow that hook line and sinker? Lol Nice try there.

You rather should stop deceiving yourself, and seek the truth and act on it.

Your first paragraph about First timers is common everywhere and we know it's being abused so that's not relevant to the club going issue here.
Dancing is not a sin and YES a whole lot of people go to clubs to dance.
Drinks are very expensive in clubs that's why people drink in bars before they go clubbing(I have been to clubs in 4 different continents and this happened).

Also, everything that happens in a club happens in a house so if clubbing is a sin then having a house is a sin unless your own brand of Christianity classifies sin based on the location it happens.
