You will have to forfeit payment for the renewal of the expired passport. Next step is to declare the old one missing by swearing an affidavit and a police extract.

The renewal of the passport will be then be treated as a lost case.

This is exactly what I was trying to avoid. Thanks for the advice, I might have to initiate the process but won't photocopy of data page be enough. This is painful honestly

Good morning fellow nairalanders. I do not know if anyone could be of help or has had similar experience before.

I applied for international passport renewal late last month (May, 2022), the one I had expired in 2015 and there is need for mer to get a new one because of an opportunity that beckons

After I have applied for renewal and the processing has commenced, part of the requirement sent to me is presentation of my old international passport on the day of appointment for capturing (June 22, 2022). It was at that point I realized that I couldn't locate my old passport. I have searched everywhere and it is becoming obvious that it is lost.

Meanwhile, I have a scanned copy of my expired international passport, but official at the immigration office are insisting that I have to present booklet or else I will forfeit the money paid as I would not be capture for new one without presentation of the old one

I need help from anyone that has had similar experience or in position to assist please

Anywhere you are in Nigeria, walk up to Transmission Company of Nigeria. Try and get into Protection Control and Metering (PC&M) department as an intern, once you let them know it is knowledge you need and not money, na you go tire....I give you six months to one year, you will be proud you did Electrical Engineering. You will learn a lot about control drawings, modern relays and circuitry among others that will be useful for you in other industries as well as if you think of staying on your own later .

Family / Re: What Happens After Marriage? How Would You Advise The Unmarried? by azeezengr(m): 7:29am On Apr 07, 2021
My remarks here are based on personal experience (of 17 years in marriage) and observations made in the society:
(1) Prayer before and after marriage is highly essential: This is important because courtship and "love" will simply not take care of those spiritual parts of two different beings coming together to live together. When things want to go wrong in your marriage and you remember you pray before you settled down with him or her, you will go back to prayer( and not beer or prostitute or 'spiritial father')
(2) Sacrifice: I believe love is fundamental before two adults come together for marriage but SACRIFICE on both sides is an essential ingredients when you start living together. Both of you have to shift on occasions and come to centre line or you pretend to for peace to reign
(3) Leave like brother and sister but there must be senior between two of you, it is a norm in Africa for man to be senior partner in relationship . Man should be respected by his wife( and vice versa)
(4) If possible, your formative years in marriage(first five years) should be leave far away from areas where both of you grow together to avoid environmental and relatives pressures on your marriage. There are misunderstandings you will settled amicably with ease without external influence coming in.....leave your marriage and family issues out of social media, you need break from your regulars to lay solid foundation for your marriage.
(5)Childbirth tends to change woman physique and psyche hence man should avoid temptations to look elsewhere and woman should work on herself. Most married men have their extra marital experience between the time when their wife gets pregnant and nursing period.
(6) Discuss your finances and be opened with it, building wealth should be a common goal and it should be responsibility of both party to make your financial stability and growth a reality. Marriage pressures are largely narrowed down to two FINANCE and SEX, any man(or woman) that can take care of these two stand chances of 80% in marriage
(7) Be radical with each others concerning your marital sex life, be open to each other and find way to pleasure

They are not fair to the old man at all, the news should have been kept away from him .....they should have allow instincts to suggest demise of his son to him or at most informed him much later that the Yinka is critically ill. Breaking the news to him is just like being ready to kill the
old man.

All the same, may God gives the family fortitude to bear the loss ( but between you and me, what chance the old man stand to withstand the shock )

I pray that may we be the ones that will bury our parents.

In all honesty, I have not come across any politician from first republic till date that is as deep as Awo. He respects education and learning in all forms, reading his books and speeches is always a delight.

There is no more Awoist and Awo himself will weep in his grave if he looks back(if possible at all)

He read alot when he was alive in terms of books and not in degrees, that is one of the reasons he gave quality response to contemporary issues of his time. He also meditates a lot unlike the present politicians that party s lot.

Finally, am not an Awoist for some personal reason but I respect him a lot for he has a strong passion to improve the lot of his race for better.

Politics / Re: I Paid A Debt Today, After 20 Years by azeezengr(m): 7:55pm On Jun 15, 2020
Propene:
On my way home from work today (19th June, 2017), I was so tired, I slept off even before we got to Osborne. I woke up when the bus was at Oworoshoki, I didn't even realise it was raining.
On getting to Anthony linking towards ikorodu road just before the GTBank, I saw a little girl, less than 10 years with a gloomy face. I was partly awake, so I didn't take note of the surrounding.
I noticed she was hawking groundnut and she laid her wares by the road, I felt she was downtrodden due to the sales of the day.
Barely had the bus moved few metres, because there was traffic on that axis, I noticed a large chunk of groundnut littered on the road.
It hit me that the girl wasn't sad because of sales, rather due to the groundnut that fell from her wares and the punishment that awaits her when she gets home.
I felt a pain in my heart, I had to do something. I knew I didn't have cash in my wallet, I have been going to work without cash lately since its Ramadan and no spending at work.
I quickly asked my colleague sitting next to me to give me 500 naira, so I could give her. I beckoned on her, I gave her the 500 naira. She knelt down, without uttering a word probably speechless and I saw happiness in her face
Finally, the bus was on ikorodu road towards Maryland, then I had a flashback.
I remember when i was growing up, less than 10 years too because I was in primary school, there was a neighbour who was a bully and always feared, he sent me on an errand to buy him cooked beans.
I dashed off to the food vendor (canteen) with a stainless bowl, bought the food and was on my way home, the heat from the stainless was unbearable since I didn't carry it in a nylon
The bowl of beans fell off my hands and splashed on the road, I stood there thinking of the punishment that awaits me at home. It's on a weekday in the afternoon and my folks ain't around to bail me.
Suddenly I saw someone beckon at me from a distance, I went to him and he gave me 7 naira (5 naira note and two 1 naira coins)
In the 90s, there were cases (myth) of people turning to goats, yam or whatsoever after collecting things from strangers or picking money from the floor.
However, at that point, nothing mattered to me, provided I get to take a bowl filled with beans home.
I bought the beans, took it home and he didn't notice it wasn't the proportion of a 10 naira beans he asked me to buy for him
Growing up, I had always wonder if that man/boy/Bros (obviously less than 30 years) that gave me that 7 naira was an angel.
Occasionally I do tell people about that incidence, but it was an event that never left my heart
Someday, this little girl selling groundnut will probably have today's event engrained in her memory of how an angel with no wings and golden rings on his head, helped her out of a very impossible situation
I'm not writing this story to amuse you or to get appraisal from you since this is faceless forum
However, it's a true event to tell you that:
We all are angels,
The world would be a better place when we help others selflessly irrespective of who we are rendering the help to (religion, tribe, societal or financial status)
And lastly what goes around comes around
I hope she gets to pass the miracle on to someone else too in the nearest future.
Thanks

Am sincerely happy with this true life story. Truly, the world will be a better place if all of us have hearts that long to help someone in need. Few moments I feel great are when I help somebody to actualize his/her aspirations. I have been on the receiving ends a lot of time. May God bless you and others with beautiful souls
