A Pastor identified as Chinedu from Orifite in Anambra state, who was caught stealing a goat at Akukwa village in Igbo-Ukwu area of the state, was served a public humiliation.
The Pastor who was interrogated by the village’s vigilante members, disclosed that he owns a church known as Key of Life Ministries in Ozubulu town but came to Igbo-Ukwu for an engagement. He further confessed to stealing the goat, which he allegedly said he wanted to use for sacrifice.
Pastor Chinedu was beaten, tied up with the stolen goat and paraded round the village before he was handed over to the police.

The General Overseer of God’s Favour Ministry, Iba, Lagos State, Daniel Onwugbufor, was also arrested for alleged armed robbery few months ago.
He was arrested along with an accomplice, Israel Animashaun, by the police in Ogun State.
The Ogun police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the two men were arrested on February 1 by officials of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS, led by Uba Adams. He said their arrest followed series of car snatching report which the command had been investigating.
“Their efforts paid off when one of the snatched car, a Lexus RX 330 SUV, was tracked down to the pastor at his Iba residence consequence upon which the pastor was promptly arrested. This arrest led to the apprehension of Animashaun who is an active member of a three-man gang of armed robbery syndicate specialised in snatching of exotic cars at gun point,” he said.

Mr. Oyeyemi said on interrogation, Mr. Animasaun confessed that he and two others snatched the vehicle at gun point in Ajah, Lagos State, and took it to the pastor who helps them sell such stolen items.

“He stated further that the pastor only paid him the sum of N350,000 for the car after using it for two weeks before he sent it to his other accomplice in Onitsha who is still at large. He also informed the police that he once robbed somebody of a Galaxy Samsung handset which the pastor bought for N35, 000 from him.”

A serving National Youth Service Corps member who is the only son of his family has had his life cut short after he was killed in a ghastly auto crash in Abuja.
An auto accident which occured at the Diamond Bank Junction on Ademola Adetokunbo Way, Wuse II, Abuja, has led to the tragic death of a 22-year-old member of the National Youth Service Corps identified as Tony Zitta.
According to a report by PUNCH Metro, Zitta had gone to drop off a friend after an event on July 29 and was on his way back when his car was bashed by another vehicle
It was gathered that the driver, who was allegedly speeding, rammed into Zitta’s car from the passenger’s side, leaving the victim unconscious.

Reports revealed firther that some policemen, who were the first responders at the scene, allegedly tried to steal some of Zitta’s belongings but were prevented by sympathisers.
While speaking to a correspondent, one of Zitta’s friends, Sowa Alonge, accused the police of aiding the escape of the unidentified driver, adding that the driver escaped in an Uber car, adding that the police allegedly removed the number plate of his vehicle so that nobody would trace him.
Alonge, who co-founded a non-governmental organisation with Zitta, said, “The police took his personal effects instead of rushing him to a hospital. But some ladies that were around did not allow them to take the items away.
“The driver of the BMW that bashed Tony (Zitta) got into an Uber car with his friends, and called a towing vehicle to tow his car away. But people prevented them from towing the car.

“Sympathisers told us that the driver bribed the policemen, but people around did not allow the towing vehicle to tow the car. They made sure that the two vehicles were towed to Zone 3 Police Command.”
Alonge who disclosed that a Good Samaritan rushed Zitta to the Gariki General Hospital from where he was transferred to the Wuse General Hospital, added that Zitta was again referred to the Gwagwalada Teaching Hospital due to lack of bed space at the Wuse General Hospital.
He said, “We were told that there was blood in his head which had been drained. They said he was stabilising. He died the next morning due to complications.
“The Deputy Commissioner of Police in Zone Seven came to Zone Three and told them to take the case seriously and the inspector handling the case said a Superintendent of Police in one of the police stations called him and said that he knew the owner of the BMW and that the owner is in a hospital.

“The SP was trying to find information about Tony (Zitta) and we played along as if he was still alive. He said he was going to send some people to check the state of the car.
“The DCP suggested to them to use the engine number of the car to find the suspect, but they ignored the DCP.”
He noted that Zitta’s mother was distraught as he was the only son of the family.
The Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, said the police did not aid the suspect’s escape, adding that efforts were on to arrest him.

He said, “The case is still under investigation and the police do not have anything to hide in the case. It is unfortunate that we lost the young man; we sympathise with his friends and family.
“At first, we did not know the owner of the car. But after our investigations, we have been able to identify the car owner and we are making efforts to ensure his arrest. There is no cover-up in the case because ours is to serve justice to whoever deserves justice.”

Three siblings have reportedly killed their elderly mother and then used her for some satanic ritual.

Three siblings killed their elderly mother after gouging out her eyes and cutting out her intestines in a horrific satanic ritual, police claim.

The mutilated body of 75-year-old Teodora Quispe Ccayllahua was found by police inside her house in the mountain village of Andabamba, northern Peru.
Her three children, Aurelia Quispe, 38, Percy Quispe, 41 and Marcelina Suane, 46, were later caught by National Police officers and reportedly confessed to the murder.

Aurelia Quispe is said to have convinced her two elder siblings to participate in the gruesome killing after having a dream that she had been chosen by Satan to carry it out

According to police, the siblings conspired together to kill their mother on Saturday (24) night in a grotesque healing ritual in which a loved one needed to be sacrificed to the devil.

Police commissioner Julio Torreblanca told the Peru 21 TV channel that one of the sisters gouged out the woman's eyes during the rite, then cut out some internal organs, including her intestines, with a knife.

They then threw her insides into a nearby pond and bathed in their mother's blood, 'invoking the devil', he said.

Aurelia, described by police as the ringleader, reportedly said at the moment she was arrested: 'The Master of Darkness ordered me, the king of demons is already with us, we are more and every day we will become bigger.'

The murder happened in a remote part of Santa Cruz province (pictured) where Satanic cults are known to operate, promising rewards in return for carrying out grisly rituals

She later told police that she had convinced her older siblings to offer their mother in the human sacrifice after having 'a strange dream, in which I heard I had been chosen. Then a small frog appeared at my door.'

Police later recovered the woman's eyes and internal organs, which were taken with her body for autopsy.

Locals claimed that satanic sects operating in remote areas of the Santa Cruz province are known to practise such gruesome rituals, promising cures, success and financial gain.

The prosecutor in charge of the case described the crime as 'terrifying'. The three siblings were charged with qualified homicide, which can be punished with life imprisonment.

Some police officers have been said to have extorted as much as N100,000 from a building contractor in Edo state.

A report by Punch Metro has shown that some policemen attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Edo State Police Command, have been accused of extorting N100,000 from a building contractor, Emmanuel Alabede.

The operatives allegedly collected the money using Point Of Sale (POS) machine after threatening to kill him if he failed to give the bribe.

Punch Metro learnt that Alabede was travelling from Ibadan to Abuja when the car he was travelling in was stopped by the cops on the Ibilo-Okene Expressway and the bags of the occupants of the car were searched.

Alabede said the operatives told him to give them his mobile phone but he declined, telling them to state what his offence was.

Twenty eight year-old Alabede, who said that the operatives raised their voice and threatened to kill him, added that he eventually released his phone to them.

He said, “They searched my phone but they found nothing incriminating; all they saw were pictures of uncompleted buildings. They asked me if the buildings belonged to me and I told them that they were not mine but they belonged to my clients.

“They said I was lying and accused me of being an Internet fraudster but I told them I was not and showed them my ID card and my company’s card, but they did not release me.

“While they were with my phone, a notification of alert of over N200,000 popped up on my phone from a client and they said they were going to collect the N200,000 from me.

“I told them that the money was not for me; that it was for a client that wanted me to work on his building, but they told me that if I didn’t give them the money they would kill me and nobody would hold them responsible.”

Alabede said when he refused to give the cops the bribe demanded, they told the driver of the car he was travelling in to go.

The Oyo State indigene added that he had to cooperate with the operatives to save his life.

He said, “I told them that I could not give them the whole money but I can give them part of it; so they told me that they would not collect anything less than N100,000 from me.

“They took me to a POS operator and I made a transfer of N100,000 to the operator who charged N2,500 for the transaction and gave the cops N97,500.”

Alabede further stated that the operatives who were in their uniform when stopped his car, changed to mufti when they were going to the POS operator’s stand.

He said he reported to the police helpline (0805700000) immediately he left the scene but was rebuked by the person that picked the call for not calling when he was with the cops.

He added that the unnamed person directed him to the police Whatsapp channel (08057000003), where he was directed back to the helpline.

“I replied them that I had already called the helpline and it was from there that I was directed to the Whatsapp. Since then, I have not received any reply from the Whatsapp channel,” he said.

When contacted, the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, pretended that he was not the person at the other end of the conversation.
“Are you sure you know who you are talking to? Check the number you are calling,” he said and immediately terminated the conversation.
A check through True Caller, a mobile app, revealed that Chidi Nwabuzor was the one that picked the call.
Our correspondent in Edo State also gave the same number as that of the state PPRO.

Punch Metro again put several calls across to the phone number, but it rang out as the police spokesman refused to pick his calls.

A text message sent to the number had yet to be replied to as of press time.

Following recurrent attacks in his state by bloodthirsty herdsmen and nonchalant attitude of the federal government, Governor Ortom has dumped the party.
Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue says he has ceased to be a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following what he called “a red card” given to him.

Ortom made this known on Monday in Makurdi shortly after swearing in a new Special Adviser on Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Jerome Shimbe who replaced Mr Titus Zam, sacked on July 8.
According to him, the red card from APC will enable him to join any political party that has an ideology worthy of being adopted by his administration.
The governor stated that the strained relationship between him and the party under which he contested the 2015 governorship election in the state has left him without a party.
The governor partially dissolved his cabinet last week, retaining four out of the 16 commissioners and seven out of 19 Special Advisers.

Although, he gave no reason for the sacking of the members of the expanded cabinet members, it was reliably gathered that the sudden cabinet reshuffle might not be unconnected with the friction between him and the APC leader in the state, Sen. George Akume.

Ortom also said that the appointment of Shimbe was based on his impeccable character and proven track record of service.
He advised the new adviser to strive to justify the confidence reposed in him and open his doors to all indigenes seeking for assistance from him regardless of their political affiliation.
Responding, Shimbe thanked the governor for finding him worthy of the appointment while pledging to ensure that the governor succeeds in all his endeavours.

Although the forces spear-heading the impeachment of Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere are bent on removing him from office, but the legal processes to be followed in actualizing such a herculean task is turning a hurdle for the executors of the project. Already, a reach-out to the governor has been made and Federal lawmakers of Imo State APC extraction contacted to enter into the matter and stop the impeachment.

A Federal lawmaker, Hon Raphael Nnanna Igbokwe was spotted at the Villa. His presence is not unconnected to the resolve of the Presidency to use highly placed Imolites at federal legislature to call the lawmakers and governor to order.
The worries of the Presidency leading to its intervention arises from the desire to ensure peace in Imo APC after the convention.
