@Noetic

This is what I have there:

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Reading through the verse, one would read falsehood therein. How could someone preach to every creature? (birds, rats, insects, etc!!!)

Some verses have to all the nations and going by the meaning, it refers to the 12 tribes of Israel Jesus came to save and not the whole world as you blindly thought. He even said that he would at the right hand of God judging the 12 tribes of Israel which means he had mission for only the house of Israel.

Jesus said and told them not to go into the lands of the gentiles but only to the house of Israel and if you think it referred to whole world including gentiles, it means Jesus contradicted himself.

So let me hear from you and we continue. I am always eager to learn from you but would be back when less busy cheesy

I am off but would read your response and get back.

Put aside your arrongance and ponder for a while

1. are u admitting that allah never forgave a person?

You said so, not me

2. are u asking for where a person was forgiven by God in the bible?

Ok, let me have that probably from OT or NT God and I would showed you verses from your book where your God never did that and killed unjustly.

. , . .cos I cant make sense of your rants

I am very much used to your style. Set the ball rolling dude cheesy

will u shut it? ;o

why is there no reference of allah forgiving a person?. . .its pretty obvious that allah is a fraud.

Dude, you know Babs very well when it comes to discussing with facts from your bible and my Quran. Do you expect a story where Allah would say, 'I forgive'? I seem not to comprehend your feather weight brain grin my friend.

Do I have it in the bible where God said, I forgive and not the words of historians?

What After Ramadan?

The Muslim must continuously be in the state of obedience to Allah at all times even after Ramadan ends.

We leave the blessed month of Ramadan, its beautiful days and its fragrant nights. We leave the month of the Quran, taqwa, patience, jihad, mercy, forgiveness and freedom from hell-fire.

Have we fulfilled the requirements of taqwa? Have we fought our souls and desires and defeated them, or have we been overtaken by our customs and blind imitations? Have we performed our actions in a way that fulfills the conditions for receiving mercy, forgiveness and release from the Fire? Many questions and numerous thoughts come to the heart of the sincere Muslim, who asks and answers with truthfulness.

What Have We Gained From Ramadan?

Ramadan is a school of iman and a ‘stop to recharge one’s spiritual batteries’ - to acquire one’s provision for the rest of the year,

For when will one take a lesson and change for better if not in the month of Ramadan?
The noble month is a true school of transformation in which we change our actions, habits and manners that are in variance with the Law of Allah. If you are from those who benefited from Ramadan, fulfilled the requirements of taqwa, truly fasted the month, prayed in it with truthfulness, and strove against your soul, then praise and thank Allah, and ask Him for steadfastness upon it until you meet your death.

Imagine the condition of one who returns to sins and evil after Ramadan and leaves obedience and righteous actions. So after he was favoured with the blessing of obedience and enjoyment of communicating with Allah he returned to the blaze of sins and evil actions. How evil are the people who know Allah only in Ramadan!

Falling short in one’s commitment to Islam after Ramadan is manifested in many ways, including:

Men leaving the five prayers in congregation, after they filled mosques for Taraweeh prayers, thus going to the masjid for recommended prayers and leaving obligatory ones.

Return to entertainment and forbidden films. This is not thankfulness for blessings and favours, nor is it the sign of acceptance of one’s actions, rather this is opposition to favours and absence of thankfulness. The Muslim must continuously be in the state of obedience of Allah.

If the fasting in Ramadan has ended, then there remains voluntary fasting, such as fasting six days in Shawwal, on Mondays and Thursdays, the three days in the middle of the month, the days of ‘Aashoora and ‘Arafat.

If standing in prayer at night during Ramadan has ended, then there remains voluntary night prayer throughout the year.

If the charity in Ramadan and Zakat ul-fitr have ended, then there is the obligatory Zakat, and also there are many other open doors to charity.

Reading of the Qur’an and contemplating it is not only for Ramadan, rather it is for all times.

Righteous actions are for all times and all places. And remember that it is not allowed for us to leave the obligatory actions or delay them, such as the five daily prayers on time, in congregation etc.

And do not fall into forbidden actions, such as forbidden sayings, food and drinks, or by looking at or listening to what is forbidden.

So be steadfast and upright upon the commands of Allah at all times, for you do not know when you’ll meet the Angel of Death. Beware of him taking you while you are in a state of sin.

We ask Allah to accept our good deeds and grant us His forgiveness and mercy

Be a Servant of Allah All Year Long

Ramadan is now over. Our eyes shed tears and our hearts ache for the departure of the month of the Qur’an, the month of mercy, the month of solidarity, the month of forgiveness, the month of freedom from the Fire. However, we should continue doing good deeds after Ramadan since the Lord of Ramadan is the Lord of the entire year.

We have spent a month of intensive worship of Allah. But this blessed month of Ramadan has ended with the sunrise of the first day of `Eid Al-Fitr, and some people began to display signs of slackness in worship.

Upon the occurrence of such slackness, Satan feels so pleased and makes strenuous effort to incite us to sin, with the aim of making us frustrated and desperate. He wants to make all the acts of worship we have performed during this month of no avail.

Mind the following Qur'anic verse:

[And indeed Iblis (Satan) proved true his thought about them, and they followed him, all except a group of true believers.] ( Saba ' 34:20)

This does not hold true for everyone, as the verse is concluded with [except a group of true believers].

To which group do you belong? To the group of believers or to those whom Satan did prove true his thought about? Almighty Allah says,

[And be not like her who unravels her yarn, disintegrating it into pieces after she has spun it strongly.] (An-Nahl 16:92)

Sincerity Beyond Ramadan

Many are not aware that what they do after Ramadan — namely, the slackness in doing the mandatory acts of worship and the indifference shown in committing sins — constitutes a form of ingratitude toward Allah's favour. Every one who exhibits this very kind of ingratitude falls under the description mentioned in the quoted verse.

The youth of the Ummah need to continue performing such intensive worship after Ramadan in order to reform their souls and to put their state of affairs right. So, after Ramadan, we need to keep away from sins, particularly those major sins like quarrels, disobedience to parents, and unlawful relationships with the other sex.

Indeed, resisting sins creates a feeling of pleasure in the heart, and such resistance pleases Almighty Allah. So, we need to do our utmost in abstaining from sins after Ramadan. The Ummah is in need of young people who are steadfast in worship.

Steadfastness on the Right Path

After Ramadan, we ought to avoid descending from the high level of enthusiasm in worship. It is part of Allah's favour that we spent Ramadan in such intensive worship. We therefore must not let Satan reap the harvest of our worship.

We have already come to know and feel the pleasure of practicing faith and obeying Almighty Allah, as well as the pleasure of entreating Him humbly. We therefore should not lose these gains and accomplishments. Rather, we have to show firmness in performing worship and in sticking to the straight path — the path of right guidance.

However, such a high level of worship and nearness to Allah that one has attained during Ramadan is naturally hard to be maintained all the time. But at least a little lower level may be kept. What should one do to keep such a "lower" level?

Regular Expression of Loyalty

Make sure to be keen on keeping the spirit of Ramadan on a constant basis. The following is intended to help in achieving that end:

Start reading the whole Qur'an again, even if you are going to read as little as one page per day.

Make du`aa' (supplication) even for just two minutes after `Isha' Prayer every day.
Praise and make remembrance of Allah everyday, reciting particularly the morning and evening adhkar (extolments of Almighty Allah).

Pray at least three of the five obligatory prayers in a congregation in the mosque.
Make friendships with righteous people who help and encourage one another to maintain steadfastness on the right path.

Fast the six days of Shawwal. In this regard, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was reported to have said,"Whosoever fasted during Ramadan and followed this with fasting six days from Shawwal, it is like fasting forever." (Muslim)

Acceptance of Worship

Many people usually ask whether their acts of worship in Ramadan have been accepted by Allah and whether their past sins have been forgiven. No one can give an answer to such a question. The Prophet's Companions themselves couldn't find such an answer. `Ali ibn Abi Talib was reported to have said, "The Companions of the Prophet used to do good deeds with great enthusiasm, and upon finishing them, they would worry about whether their deeds were accepted." Almighty Allah says about the believers in the Qur'an,

However, one may know whether or not his or her good deeds during Ramadan have been accepted. This is deduced from the following Qur'anic verse:

[O ye who have faith, fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may have taqwa [piety and fear of Allah].] Baqarah Q(2:183)

The basic rule is that Ramadan fills us with righteousness and piety. Measure your performance within the first week that follows Ramadan; if it turned out that you forsook good deeds and committed sins, then you have to be gravely concerned. On the other hand, if it turned out that your performance and conduct have improved, then you must be glad, for it is very likely that your good deeds during Ramadan have been accepted.

Almighty Allah has bestowed unto us His great favour when He enabled us to worship Him during Ramadan, to recite the Qur'an, to make du`aa’, and to offer Qiyam Al-Layl (Night Vigil Prayer). The right time for expressing gratitude for these blessings is after this holy month.

Some may assume that `Eid is the point when the faithful effort exerted during Ramadan should come to an end. However, the opposite is true: Ramadan ought to be a starting point toward a new relationship with Allah. Therefore, one has to maintain the charge of faith that stems from the hard work during Ramadan for as long time as possible after Ramadan.

The only remaining hope for the Ummah is its youth. O youth, please remain steadfast after Ramadan and seek success in your life, for such success will help the Ummah to attain the reform it aspires to.

In addition, your steadfastness in sincere worship is what makes your intentions pure for Allah and His religion. So, worship Allah, be sincere and steadfast on His path after Ramadan as much as you can, and seek Allah's help.

if you think you ll buy me off this cheap then you have another think coming, you think all my many months of reading the quran and hadiths is for fun?

Ok sir. Let us read on.

first of all, there was no time the maccans tormented muslims, mohammad only used this reason to justify himself, when he started the first jihad i.e robbing and pillaging innocent travellers from yemen going to trade in mecca, connected to that is a question i will ask you, if uplawal jilted you to marry another man, will you take the bitterness or dissappointment out of her friends or aquitances?

Your proof/facts on the emboldened words please.

that is what your mohammad did,all the meccans did was verbal abuse, they never laid a finger on him, both when his protectors were alive and when they died, they only sought to harm him, when he planned with outsiders to capture macca, which you will agree with me is an offence punishable by death, even till today in some countries

Sorry, I dont have time for storing telling but would appreciate facts from you before we proceed.

the no compulsion in religion has been abrogated by the quranic verse where mohammed enjoins his followers to kill all unbelievers, polytheists, christians, jews i have provided the relevant verses more than 5 times already,i  took the pains to copy it from the quran and i am not ready to go through all that trouble again because of you sorry  if you read your quran you will know the verses in question it is quite popular and a contentious verse as well!

Please sir, kindly do a re-poste because of me. I am reading through and would like to read where he commanded killing of Polytheists, christians, jews etc

we know islam came stage by stage, what i am asking you is that the words from the mouth of mohammed, which is supposedly from allah, how come he changed it later by nullification abrogation e.t.c
did your allah make mistakes??

Far from that, Allah does not make mistakes. Are you referring to the bible verses where God created man and later said he regretted doing same?

Better still , are you referring to verses where Jesus changed words in OT?

I really want to learn from you sir cheesy

or your all knowing and all seeing allah did not see that the satanic verses will cause troubles later?

. Could not fathom the satanic verses or you assist me with the verses please. Just like when your God Jesus is unaware that he came to die for christians' sin and cried on the cross to himself, 'that my God, why has thou forsaken me"

your all knowing and all seeing allah didnt see that abrogating the defensive jihad, with the one enjoining muslims to fight every non muslims, and not stop untill everybody is under islamic rule will cause problems?

The verses please just for my own sake

hmm i see, that still does not answer my questions, is your god a god of mistakes and errors?
@the bolded
is your god able to make mistakes and commit errors in delivering visions and prophecies, not once or twice?

Why not read your bible first before accusing others of same? Verses were abrogated but that does not mean Allah forgot, it was meant for certain type of people during a particular time. Have you asked yourself if God of the bible could be regretting creating people after saying all what God created are good but still said God regretted creating man, are you saying God does not know what His creation would do?

you should be ashamed of quoting this quranic verse,so your own allah does not want the repentance of sinners but to condemn them to torment??

Do you mind if if I give you verses on killings of your God that does not want repentance?

no wonder people are converting to christianity in  droves all round the world, how can a supposed creator open his mouth to say he has set a seal on his own creation's heart and hearing?

Hold it, my family and myself reverted to Islam. I have friends and stories of same too and I am working on someone presently and Allah would touch his heart.

while your own allah is busy pushing people into eternal damnation by sabotaging their ears and hearts this is what my own GOD is doing to sinners irrespective f their sins,

mathew chapter 11;28-the end

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light

Have you pondered on the verse where Jesus told them to buy swords? Please do we examine God of the OT  or NT?

why are you burying your head in the sand alhaja??you see why you should thoroughly research religions before you dive in?im sure you didnt realise manyh of these things before you converted from frying pan to fire

Is christianity a religion?

i challenged you to convert me you cant, meaning you have failed in one of your duties of jihad of the hand and tongue.

Oga, it is Allah that changes, not man? When you are ready, signify and would take you through christianity.

you asked me to show you the contradictions and abrogations,i showed you and you r saying i am twisting myself, even if i forged the copy of the quran and hadiths i am using, why dont you open your own quran and check the verses?

Please repost for me sir.

i will provide the verses for you to check, then compare and contrast either the quran or bible is contradictory, call your boyfriend to help you now, after all he is a proper muslim, you are still one leg in one leg out
iyalode pastor oluwo lol lol

I cant afford to read those from you.

There is online koran and haddith. , . .just use google

SHOW ME WHERE ALLAH EVER FORGAVE ANYONE?

Oh I see. You are expecting a story in the Quran where Allah said ' I forgive you huh"? You should know that the Quran is not like the bible that was written by unknown authors putting words that are not Jesus' into his mouth. Also it is not words of historians like the bible and you have verses on Allah's forgiveness. You should google it out yourselves and use your precious time on other things. wink

I have shared varied opinion, issues with my respected brothers and sisters in the likes of Olabowale,Javalove,Codebase,Zayhal,Ayinba,Jarus,Mukina, oyb etc and none generated into abuse. You asked somebody where he was having forgotten that you never existed years back when religious section was one and some muslims and myself defended, lectured and cleared misconceptions in the time of Havila,Syrup,Gbade,Malik,Shahan,Davidylan,Osisi  & other Xtian friends! We are still friends despite difference in religion. All of us cannot be muslims or Xtians. This world is all about 'live and let live'. You have no right to judge or insult ur fellow muslims and I have noticed that you r not displaying the qualities of a good ambassador of Islam. In all honesty, wat u r displaying is wat's happening in Iraq,Afghanistan where we have Shittes and Sunnis in which they believe that others r wrong, resorts to insult, abuse and killings. Please ponder on this and May Allah reward you as u propagate Islam.

In the Path of Self-Purification : Obstacles and Pitfalls

A responsible highway authority will erect a variety of warning signs in order to alert drivers to dangers and so ensure safe passage. Similarly, it is necessary that certain obstacles in the path of self-purification be identified for the benefit of the seekers of truth. Doing so will help them reach their destination safely. In broad terms, there are certain failings that can gradually separate one from one's goal and against which it is important to be forewarned.

Negligence and Carelessness

This is a very common failing. One is, without doubt, drawn by nature towards a program of self-reform and may be granted some success. However, human beings are liable to forgetfulness and negligence. The Qur'an repeatedly warns against becoming one of those who are negligent. It is important therefore to be fully on guard, to value greatly any success, and to thank Allah profusely for it so that one may be deserving of more of His bounties. Conversely, a lack of appreciation, indifference, and negligence result in the loss of all that Allah has granted. The Qur'an says plainly of the Jews and Christians that they did not value their Scriptures and disregarded them; as a result, they fell prey to mutual differences and strayed from the straight path (Al-Ma'idah 5:13-14).

Pride and Arrogance

Believers who turn their attention to self-purification, shun misdeeds, and practice the virtues will grow in social prominence and respect. People will praise them for their integrity, gentleness, and piety. As they succeed in their efforts to attain piety and excellence, their virtues become the focus of attention. However, if they are not careful enough, they may fall into pride and suffer from complacency and conceit, and a superiority complex may trouble them. We must recognize that it is a satanic strategy to deceive the believers. Satan fell from divine grace on account of his pride. It is recorded that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "One with (even) an iota of pride will not enter Paradise " (Muslim).

To protect against pride and arrogance, we should not look to those who are inferior in knowledge and good deeds, but to those who occupy higher ranks in terms of piety, knowledge, and gnosis of Allah. We should always remember that Allah has presented the role model of the illustrious conduct of the messengers and Companions. In comparison with that model, we will always become aware of our inferiority to them, and that will protect us from falling prey to pride and arrogance. Once we suffer from the delusion that we have attained excellence, it marks the starting point of our decline and decay. We should, therefore, seek refuge with Allah against this, lest we are deprived of all that we have gained.

Desire for Perfection

It is people's natural desire to attain the zenith of achievement in their chosen field. This ambition in itself is valuable. However, since human beings are fallible, they cannot maintain the same standard of excellence at all times. Some people are never satisfied with what they do, obsessed with the desire to achieve perfection. Failing to reach the highest standard, they lose heart and slide into despair and despondency. By definition, an ideal is something to be pursued; it is, in principle, always unattainable. As already indicated, the Prophet represents the role model for us to emulate the highest standard, which we cannot measure up to.

Hastiness

Human beings are instinctively hasty (Al-Anbiyaa' 21:37), while the process of self-purification is long and drawn out. People cannot achieve straightaway what they wish and want in this respect, and they are exposed to many obstacles and hardships on the way. Perseverance and courage are needed to overcome these obstacles. Succumbing to impatience or hastiness is itself an impediment to success; whereas consistently and valiantly confronting the hardships and obstacles brings out the best in the seeker. Indeed, striving and steadfastness are essential elements of self-purification. People cannot attain high standards by acting hastily and impatiently.

Despair

Despair is a fatal disease. At times, it brings one into unbelief. Allah says,

(Never give up hope of Allah's mercy. Certainly, no one despairs of Allah's mercy, except the people who disbelieve.) (Yusuf 12:87)

In adverse circumstances, when the chances of success are remote, people are naturally inclined to lose hope and turn to cynicism or pessimism. However, even in the face of repeated failures, people must never despair of Allah's mercy. Every failure should inspire renewed vigor to confront the unfavorable circumstances and persevere in the cause, in accordance with the promise of Allah,

(As for those who strive hard in Our cause, We will surely guide them to Our paths.) (Al-`Ankabut 29:69)

Extremism

Human beings are prone to go to extremes when overtaken by passion. They often adopt an extremist position on particular issues, whether acts of worship or points of morality, overemphasizing certain matters at the expense of others. Islam enjoins human beings to seek balance and moderation in their outlook and warns them against extremism of any sort. People should therefore observe moderation in the effort to attain self- and blessings purification. It is reported on the authority of Anas that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Do not strain yourself in matters of faith lest Allah may treat you harshly." In another hadith he warned, "Beware! Do not become entrapped by extremism. For people before you were destroyed on account of their extremism in faith."

We have taken note of the obstacles and pitfalls on the road to self-purification. This should not give rise to the impression that people cannot make progress on this road. Certainly this is not that difficult. Human beings instinctively welcome goodness and are repelled by evil. There are lessons to be learned from every event in this universe, as well as from personal experience. People do not stand in need of joining some training course to assimilate these lessons. Furthermore, it is within people's capacity to fulfill the obligations prescribed by Allah. Allah does not burden anyone beyond their capacity, for that would run counter to justice.

Show Your Gratitude Through Worship

One of the fundamental components of a person's relationship with Allah is worship. As one's heart is filled with gratitude to one's benefactor, one expresses indebtedness, humility, and surrender to him. This is a natural response, observed even in domestic animals and pets. They express gratitude by gesture or look, but human beings are required to express gratitude in a much more pronounced manner. It is an ordinary experience that a person owing a debt of gratitude to another expresses these feelings in appropriate manners and speech.

Those failing to thank their benefactors are generally regarded as at least uncouth or ill-natured. It is part of the human nature to hold one's benefactor in esteem. Given this, we can see what gratitude we owe to our true Benefactor, Allah, Who is the source of all favors and blessings. We owe our very existence to Him. His favors are not ephemeral, but eternal.

One should reflect gratitude to Allah by way of surrendering humbly and fully to Him. In doing so, one acts in a natural way and will be blessed with tranquility and spiritual contentment. However, those overwhelmed by neglect or ignorance fail to give thanks to their Creator and Benefactor. They even fail to think of Him or do so only in a passing and cursory manner.

The gratitude we owe to Allah is manifested in our worship. It is expressed both verbally and by gesture and body movement. Worship embodies outwardly our gratitude to our Benefactor. One's whole being is involved in the act of worship. Each body part contributes in its own way, and one's mental and spiritual faculties are also actively involved. One whole being takes part in paying homage to the Creator, because it is incumbent upon to involve also all those means and ways by which one meets their worldly needs.

There is no need of weighty arguments to illustrate that the worship of Allah manifests our gratitude to our real, true Benefactor. This appears clearly in the opening surah of the Qur'an, Al-Fatihah. The surah is woven around the theme of gratitude and it forms an essential part of prayer in Islam. It emerges from studying this surah that one's gratitude in response to Allah's lordship, mercy, and compassion prompts one to exclaim (We worship You alone) (Al-Fatihah 1:5).

It is also evident from other Qur'anic verses that worship is synonymous with the expression of gratitude to Allah. For example, (Worship Allah and be among His grateful servants) (Az-Zumar 39:66). Elsewhere, one is directed to worship and thank Him: (So seek your provision from Allah, and serve Him, and give thanks unto Him) (Al-`Ankabut 29:17). It is reported about Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that he stood for so long in his Night Vigil Prayer that his feet would swell up.

Take the following hadith as illustrative: The Prophet's wife `A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said, I asked, "Messenger of Allah, why do you exert yourself so much while all your sins have been forgiven?" To this he replied, "`A'ishah, should I not be a grateful servant of Allah?" (Muslim).

Worship is prompted by one's feeling of gratitude to Allah. Allah's commands are not meant to put us through any inconvenience. Rather, Allah has prescribed certain forms for expressing our gratitude, and these forms are approved by Him. These accrue numerous blessings to us.

In terms of its essence, true worship is characterized by genuine and overflowing gratitude to Allah. By worshiping Allah, one discharges obligations toward the Creator, Master, Benefactor, and Lord. One does not do so for the sake of benefiting in any way the Creator and Master but rather earns blessings for oneself and makes oneself worthy of more rewards. It is clear from several Qur'anic verses that Allah is to be worshiped because He is the Creator, Master, Sustainer, and Lord.

Our worship does not profit Him in any way, and our refusal to worship Him does not harm Him in the least. However, unbelievers refusing to worship Him are liable to fall more deeply into error and are more likely to follow the path of Satan rather than the straight way prescribed by Allah.

A Quick preparation list for the month of Ramadan

Ramadan is the month of excitement for Muslims. Ramadan is the month of revelation of Quran, the month of reading and reciting the whole Quran, the month of Tahajjud and Qiyam al-layl prayers, Sadaqah, Zakah al-Fitr and Zakah al-Mal. Ramadan is also a month of social activities among Muslims.

No one can go anywhere without preparation, and no one invites a guest without preparing to welcome him / her. Similarly, to welcome Ramadan, the month of fasting, one has to prepare. The following are some tips to help the reader prepare accordingly:

Start reading Quran daily after Salat al-Fajr.
Spend some time listening to recitations from the Quran.
Train yourself to go bed early so that you can wake up far Salat al-Fajr.
Keep yourself in a state of Wudu (Ablution) most of the time.
Evaluate yourself daily before going bed.
Thank Allah for good deeds, and repent to Him for your mistakes and sins.
Start giving Sadaqah daily, no matter how little. Make it a habit like eating and drinking.
Find time to pray extras, such as Tahajjud prayers.
Spend more time reading Islamic books, especially the Quran, Sirah, Hadith, and Fiqh.
Find time to help others with your wisdom, knowledge and other talents.
Try to write articles on Islam for Muslims as well as for non-Muslims.
Associate with Muslim scholars / ulama and other pious people so that you may learn from them.
Train yourself to do good, render free service to others to seek the pleasure of Allah.

What to avoid list during the month of Ramadan

Reduce watching TV, instead spend more time reading the Quran and other Islamic literature.
Avoid looking at unlawful pictures, whether magazines, department store catalogs or otherwise.
Avoid going to theaters; instead go to Masajid, Islamic organizations and make that a daily habit.
Avoid eating too much. Eat only when you are hungry and try not to fill your stomach completely.
If you drink Coffee, Tea or Soda, be sure to reduce consumption.
If you smoke, try to reduce daily usage; otherwise Ramadan will be very difficult for you to observe.
If you like to listen to music, whether the style of western societies or even those from Muslim countries, reduce, even eliminate the time you spent on them; replace them with reciting and listening to recitation from the Quran.
If you enjoy playing cards and board games try your best to avoid them as much as possible and fill your time with something useful.
If you enjoy going with friends to picnics and other social gatherings, try to reduce it before Ramadan; otherwise fasting the month of Ramadan will be more difficult.
If you have friends who do not practice the teaching of Islam, try to avoid socializing with them.

If you travel a lot on business, try to do more local business, so you can be more closer to your family and community.
If you are used to staying up till midnight, try to go to bed earlier, so that you will be able to wake up early for Salat al-Fajr and Tahajjud prayers as well.
To prepare ourselves before the month of Ramadan arrives is far better than waiting till it comes. To prepare ourselves for anything in life is a sign of wisdom and maturity. No one is assured of living one day more; tomorrow may not come. So hurry and benefit from blessings and rewards from Allah.

Remember: "Time is not money or gold; it is life itself and is limited. You must begin to appreciate every moment of your life and always strive to make the best use of it."

Things to do during Ramadan

Make a resolve to win the maximum favor of Allah by performing extra Voluntary prayers (Nawaafil), making frequent Dua and increased remembrance (Dhikr).
Try to recite some Holy Quran after every Prayer. In fact if you read 3-4 pages after every Prayer you can easily finish the entire Quran in Ramadan!
Study the Tafseer (commentary) every morning.
Invite a person you are not very close with or your relatives to your home for Iftaar, at least once a week (Weekend). You will notice the blessings in your relationships!
Bring life to your family! Everyday, try to conclude the fast with your family and spend some quality time together to understand each other better.
Give gifts on Eid to at least 5 people: 2 to your family members, 2 to your good friends, and 1 to a person whom you love purely for the sake of Allah.
Make commitment to join Islamic study circles to learn more about Islam and improve your own life.

Donate generously to the Masajid, Islamic organizations, and any where people are in need or oppressed. "Because Ramadan, is a month of sharing!"
Share month of Ramadan and its teachings of peace and patience with your neighbours.
Sleep little, eat little! Make sure you do not defeat the purpose of fasting by over-indulging in food and being lazy.
Seek the rare and oft-neglected rewards of the night better than 1000 months (Laylatul-Qadr / Shab-e-Qadr).
Weep in private for the forgiveness of your sins: Ramadan is the month of forgiveness and Allah's Mercy! It's never too late.
Learn to control your tongue and lower your gaze. Remember the Prophet's (PBUH) warning that lying, backbiting, and a lustful gaze all violate the Ramadan fast!
Encourage others to enjoin and love goodness, and to abandon everything that Allah dislikes. Play the role of a Da'ee (one who invites to Allah) with zeal, passion, and sympathy.

Experience the joy of Tahajjud prayers late at night and devote yourself purely and fully to Allah in the Itikaf retreat during the last 10 days of Ramadan.

May Allah make it easier for us. (Amin)

Islam for Muslims / Re: Where Is Allah's Original Bible? by babs787(m): 12:42pm On Aug 01, 2009
@Noetic, Davidylan, Nezan

muslims keep drumming it into our ears that the bible has been corrupted. . . . I think it is time allah produces his own original bible.

To start with,

do you believe that your book has been corrupted? You response would determine my going into your versions, publications, authors etc and may lead into getting the facts behind the original message given to earlier prophets.

Let us start from where we stopped

I answered almost all your questions.

Which of my questions did you answer? These are part of my questions and you could do me proud by directing me to where you responded.

Does your trinity has any biblical backing?

Was it preached by any of the OT prophets?

Did Jesus preach Trinity?

If your Jesus is God, who did he pray to when he learnt that they wanted to kill him?

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-294859.64.html

You should note that I avoid getting into repetitions, that is why I choose to ignore questions I have answered in previous posts, despite that, your people deleted all my posts that gave sensational answers to your questions and banned me last week, funny, isn't it?

Oga, my posts have suffered same so that should not be your excuse. BTW, your post would not have been deleted if you have applied civility and and not going off-topic with your cooked up stories from your websites.

You could still do a re-poste if you are very sure of what you posted or you kindly refer me to same. I am willing to learn from you. I would appreciate seeing your answers.

exposure of the father you ran to without having knowledge of who the guy really is.

You make me laugh. Which exposure? How do you doubt my father when your prophet was making false prophesies that didn't ever come to pass? so much for a false prophet and his followers.

RFMAO.

I was referring to your father Ignatius in which you couldn further defend after educating you on his stand.

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-294859.64.html

I read you claiming of false prophecies, do you care if you and I go into your bible to read false prophecies linked to Jesus that never came to pass?

Don't run away. When you people are unable to defend your religion, you hide under any excuse to run.

Babs dont do that but always profer your facts along with your spurious arguments.

Are we no longer discussing the message of the prophets on this thread?

Sure we are

I have answered almost all your questions and you are afraid to answer the few I have posted. Dont run, come back.

Newbie, could you provide a link to where you did that?

Thanks

Islam for Muslims / Re: Who Was The First Muslim by babs787(m): 8:10pm On Jul 21, 2009
@Osisi

Does Islam predate Judaism and Christianity?

Yes

Islam started with Adam and Muhammed happened to be the first to be a Muslim among his people who were idolators hence:

Quran 39 v 11-12: Say (O Muhammad): Lo! I am commanded to worship Allah, making religion pure for Him (only). And I am commanded to be the first of those who are muslims.

Quran 6 v 14: Say: Shall I choose for a protecting friend other than Allah, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, Who feedeth and is never fed? Say: I am ordered to be the first to surrender (unto Him). And be not thou (O Muhammad) of the idolaters.

Islam then was not preached as it is now. Then, there was no five compulsory daily prayers but was perfected during prophet's night journey to heaven:

Quran 5 v 3 …This day! I have perfected your religion, completed my favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.

Quran 22 v 78: …It is he who named you Muslims both before and in this (the Quran), that the Messenger (Muhammed saw) may be a witness over you and you be witness over mankind.

Verses showing that those before Muhammed are Muslims:

Quran 3 v 67: Ibrahim was not a Jew nor a Christian but he was (an) upright (man), a Muslim , and he was not one of the polytheists.

Quran 2v 127-133 ShakirAnd when Ibrahim and Ismail raised the foundations of the House: Our Lord! accept from us; surely Thou art the Hearing, the Knowing: Our Lord! and make us both submissive (muslimayni) to Thee and (raise) from our offspring a nation submitting (ommatan muslimatan) to Thee, and show us our ways of devotion and turn to us (mercifully), surely Thou art the Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful. Our Lord! and raise up in them an Apostle from among them who shall recite to them Thy communications and teach them the Book and the wisdom, and purify them; surely Thou art the Mighty, the Wise. And who forsakes the religion of Ibrahim but he who makes himself a fool, and most certainly We chose him in this world, and in the hereafter he is most surely among the righteous. When his Lord said to him, Be a Muslim, he said: I submit myself to the Lord of the worlds. And the same did Ibrahim enjoin on his sons and (so did) Yaqoub. O my sons! surely Allah has chosen for you (this) faith, therefore die not unless you are Muslims . Nay! were you witnesses when death visited Yaqoub, when he said to his sons: What will you serve after me? They said: We will serve your God and the God of your fathers, Ibrahim and Ismail and Ishaq, one God only, and to Him do we submit.

Also during Jesus' time:
Quran 3v 52: When Jesus found Unbelief on their part He said: "Who will be My helpers to (the work of) Allah?" Said the disciples: "We are Allah's helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims.

Osisi, please can God be an author of confusion?
Did God give prophets different religions?

Try to respond please and we work this out.

I thought you would provide rebuttal to my posts particularly on the questions asked and the exposure of the father you ran to without having knowledge of who the guy really is.

When you are able to refute all I posted, I will go into your last posts because I read it centered on the prophet (saw) but I dont want the thread deflected sir.
