Politics / Re: ‘we’re In A One-chance Bus’ — PDP Lists 14 ‘acts Of Humongous Corruption’... by Bacon21(m): 7:35pm On Aug 17, 2018

Every member of the parliament is elected. The issue of unelected group does not arise. The leader of the party with the majority of MPs or the coalition of parties with the majority becomes the prime minister. It is quite straightforward.
The type of drama playing out right now with Saraki and APC is an unnecessary waste of time and money. It is impossible in a parliamentary system.

Every person would vote with the belief that the leader of that party may become prime minister not that any person can face them in a vote of no confidence and became prime minister. Also in parliamentary systems, government formations take a long time (Italy 2018: Nearly 2 months; Germany 2018: 6 months; Belgium 2010-11: Nearly 2 years; Spain 2015-16: Nearly One Year; etc.) these gaps in an elected government cause instability and the only way to combat this in a parliamentary system is to have an electoral system where the results are disproportionate such as in the UK. In the UK 2017 election, the Conservative vote share was increased by 5.5%, but they lost 13 seats, the Labour vote share was increased by 9.6% but they only gained 30 seats, and the Liberal Democrats vote share was decreased by 0.5% but they won 4 more seats. This unfairness does not happen in a presidential system.

There are no term limits but a lot easier to remove a non performing government through a no confidence vote. As for irresponsible MPs, we have a lot of them in our current system too.

A vote of no confidence can be another issue with that system: it allows for an unelected group to take over the government at any point if the current prime minister doesn't do their bidding whether bribes or other corruption. Also in the presidential system eventually there will be primary elections to choose party nominees however these do not exist in the parliamentary system.

This is why I prefer the parliamentary system of government where the prime minister and the MPs will directly address these issues rather than on the pages of newspapers.

There are also no term limits in a parliamentary system. Ministers are chosen from the representatives allowing politicians that should be voting and representing their constituents to spend months in the US or France on a "fact-finding mission" as the "Permanent Under-Secretary of State to the Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs" or another nonsense position. There are many things wrong with Nigeria, but a parliamentary system would definitely make things worst.

Prime Minister and not President.

There are no cabals in Parliamentary system of government.

Delano Roosevelt is the only US president whose 2nd term in office was extended. he went for a 4th time

and there was a bill of emergency to back it up.

world war II was raging at that time and it will be fool-hardy to be conducting presidential elections.

Trump is in a sane clime.

mediocrity in Africa is insanity

That is not true, FDR was elected for Four Terms elections were conducted during the war it was just before term limits were put in place.

Great Development but I hope that soon we will get to the point where we don't have to laud a governor every time a basic structure is built.

If the elected representatives of the people should not have that power, then who should?

Or is it because it is a saraki led Senate?

I don't care who leads the Senate I just think that something as drastic as the deportation of a person should not be able to be decided by a partisan body. A system of immigration courts should make these decisions as this power has the potential to be abused in the future.

The Senate should not have the power to order the deportation of a person.

There's no disputing the fact that the man is an undisciplined menace in the guise of a human, all am saying all am after is why she couldn't just forgive and let it swerve. Being unforgiven is a very bad omen

There is no reason for her to forgive a man that just assaulted her. Why would she forgive?

With all due respect. These are two different scenario here. He only touched her maybe with an assumption that she would comply. And when he realized his mistakes he begged and even knelt down. She should have forgiven him or make him serve a lesser punishment

She just told him that she was lesbian of course she wouldn't comply. Even if she was straight, he could not just assume that it is okay to assault her. And there is no reason for her to forgive a man that just assaulted her.

And any time you see something you like, you say Authentic news.

Not necessarily if the news is true like this than it is authentic. This nonsense isn't difficult to disprove have several Igbo people take an independent DNA test like they did and it found nothing.

So anytime you see something that you don't like you say Fake news.

Authorityngr belongs to Ifeanyi Ubah...Ifeanyi Ubah is coming out under the platform of APC to contest for the upcoming gubernatorial elections so he wants to use this news to "stroke the ego" of some certain people to help him clinch the APC ticket.

So the Daily Post is also fake: http://dailypost.ng/2017/08/07/new-dna-test-result-reveals-igbos-jews/
