Computers / Re: How Is Swift Broadband? by badesemowo(m): 1:04pm On May 11, 2007
Thanks people,

I went to CTO yesterday , spoke to two other internet providers

1. IPNX had a good package , I dont need a mast in my house , but they have a maximum download of 6GB per month,
2. Directonpc did not have a price list for me to compare.

3. Another option might be Starcomms EVDO.

Anybody has any experience with these other guys?

I presently use starcomms dial up ,

hey yah, angry i 'm off for 3 weeks . That means i am going to miss the rest of the show.
I hope Ayo wins.
TV/Movies / Re: The Intern Show (Reality TV) by badesemowo(m): 10:27pm On Feb 24, 2007
The site has more content now. i read some interesting article from the pre show activities. I wonder why they had to take them round all the tourist resorts in naija?

I am impressed with  their current task. Brand and sell water, Name, Logo, and all the works, down to even tv commercials.

I think the girls team idea is more creative.
The guys probably have more value to sell(mineral water), but they could have done better with the bottle. To think yesterday, i thot this was a hands down win for the guys (thats when the task was first announced.)
Right Now i'm not so sure any more.

Letz see how it ll play out in the board room 2morrow.

jjuummaaii:

The interns had fun on vals day, they gave them 2mins to talk to any loved one, and they also had a party were they had so much fun. Nice one at least to let off som steam
damn, don't just know why i don't like dammy, he's so childish, u needed to have seen him talk to his girlfriend on val's day," your dad will be watchin me now because there recording it and he's going to kill u for this" gush what was that, the guy just acts childish and i wonder why he's still there.

I think Dammy was just plain shy during that call,  Couldnt even say i love u. He is a naturally jovial person not childish. Dont worry though , i think he ll be the next guy to go,

aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the 4 senses lost
Quite unexpected.
And for a petty reason like not understudying,
And emmanuel did get fired,
TV/Movies / Re: The Intern Show (Reality TV) by badesemowo(m): 1:59pm On Feb 13, 2007
naijagal:

i have a problem also with them always announcing "we are from the intern show" all the time
infact, some of the successes recorded is because of the camera that follows them all over the place, of course people will patronise them since its going to be on tv.

Imagine walking into your favourite bar / fast food. And see like 3 cameras and some guy wearing bank phb shirt,
I think you would want an explanation on whatz going on,
(the show is not mega popular you know and nigerians generally don't read!)

But I agree that a lot of their successes especially in marketting is based on the cameras. It also gives/gave them some level of credibility (which is always an issue for nigerians)

LoverBwoy:

which one of them is afolabi

I think the tall dude should go, his leadership skill are terrible. He chose those 2 for ADO consult because they just survived the eviction so he reckons "they'll be very eager to prove themselves" undecided

I notice he talks too much as well does very little
Ayo is good. He is experienced and plays the game well. They were just unlucky to get a SPORTS Bar,  Only people that love Arsenal and MAn U should have to do those kind of work.

Finally I think Bose and Ayo will make it to the finals. I also suspect that now that Bose is in the lime light, she ll make a minor mistake which would be emphasised and lead to her being fired.
TV/Movies / Re: The Intern Show (Reality TV) by badesemowo(m): 9:06pm On Feb 04, 2007
whatz the idea in the show , they did not show the end of the boardroom session today again. So we do not get to know who got fired until next weekend. I don't think thats very good, (thinking of it now maybe they are trying their hands on suspense sha .

@ifende : So 007 , who got fired ?
TV/Movies / Re: The Intern Show (Reality TV) by badesemowo(m): 4:15pm On Feb 04, 2007
fellow:

I think Bose erred when she nominated kola for eviction.I mean why should you cry when you also nominated him. She didn't act right. I also think kola was an object of Emmanuel's inability to lead the whole team and to delegate duties to them which make kola redundant.

I think bose was just trying to be objective or something by nominating kola. As in making decisions free of them emotions,  I guess that is what makes her scary,
It was good to see she has an emotional side to her though.

is it too early to start asking who you think will win?

ok,  who do you think will get fired next?

@seun, is it possible to make something for voting for the above?

ABOUT PROUDLY NIGERIAN DESIGN COMPETITION

Short History
Nigeria is getting better by the day. More and more youths and professionals are beginning to believe in the Nigerian Dream, making a clear statement of the Proudly Nigerian Spirit in what they do, what they wear, how they act etc.

At one time or the other, we might have come across different logos, graphical illustrations and symbols on the web, electronic and print media indicating "proudly nigerian" (or related messages*). This competition aims at synegising and using one positively nigerian logo for each quarter of the year. The graphical symbol to be used for each quarter will be put to a public vote.

Format:

This competition formerly opens on February 1st, 2007 and closes April 2007

Stage 1sadFebruary - March 2007)

Entries are to be submitted by the Designer. Entries are reviewed by the public. The top 20 symbols with the highest and most positive reviews are then collated at the end of this stage.

Stage 2sadApril 2007)

There will be an online vote for a month for the best out of the 20 shortlisted logos. The entry with the highest public vote is declared the winner.

Prizes:
This competition is just suppose to be fun and a way for graphic artists (web designers , animators e.t.c ) to meet and improve their skills on a platform of competition. To cut the long story short, there are no real prices except someone out there will love to donate something.

You get:

The use of the winning work by all entrants into the competition and our associate design/development teams. (and BRAGGING RIGHT smiley)

A provisional appointment at bincom as a graphic designer (on independent contrator basis)

Copyright Issues:
All entries are submitted on the bases of GNU/GPL license , which basically says it is open source.
There must be an acknowledgement if new entries are based on some other person's works.

@ifende, I suppose you know about www.internshow.tv . who is working on this site?
www.internshow.com has been redirected to something else,
has something happened to afolabi? His picture has been replaced with some other guy on the contestants page
(ps: Use www.internshow.tv/index.asp to get a sneak preview (just the frame work , no content yet)

ok 007 .  i ll leave you for now. I think you are part of the production team sha,

The show is alrigth. Not exactly the best show i've seen but it has a lot of potential.
The Production can be a lot better.
While the contenstants are being grilled in the boardroom, more clips of the specific events should be shown. Apparently extensive use of cameras are not allowed in the intern house, thats a drag.

I'm a fan of the show probably because i can relate with the contestants, and i'm picking up tips ,

So my own Ratings so far :
Concept: 90% (would have been 100 but it is a nigerian version of the the apprentice)
Production:40% (reasons already stated)
Entertainment/Suspence e.t.c : 50%
Quality of Contestants : 80%

Overall : 60 %
(note there is no daily update, no website, e.t.c)

Seun:

Saw it on STV during the last hour. The lighting is much better, but the coverage remains poor.

Maybe the problem is that the show is being broadcast live. If that's the case, then it's not necessary - Ultimate Search wasn't broadcast live. An editor will need lots of time to mix in the outdoor footage to spice up the show.

I don't want to listen to young men like me speaking corporatese to ogas. I want to see them in action.

@seun they are not broadcasting live at all. They just need more work in terms of production e.t.c . And you are right they need to cover more actions.
TV/Movies / Re: The Intern Show (Reality TV) by badesemowo(m): 10:00pm On Jan 28, 2007
saturday's episode was boring. Thats why i didnt say anything about it.

Boardroom on Sunday was somewhat interesting. Emmanuel defending his actions. Talking about strategies and oppositions he had, e.t.c
They stopped before the end of the board room session. So we dont know who got/gets eliminated.

Production Advice
Saturday: The background music (during their interview sessions) was louder than the interview itself.
Sunday: Sometimes the sound was faster than the lips of the speakers.

Interns on the Street:
They were sighted in HOTR today.

Who is your Favourite Intern?
TV/Movies / Re: What Happened To 'Bachelors For Life' On STV? by badesemowo(m): 12:11am On Jan 27, 2007
hey babzo what time and day, is it on? how many episodes deep are they?
TV/Movies / Re: The Intern Show (Reality TV) by badesemowo(m): 10:22pm On Jan 26, 2007
OK episode 10 of the show was on  today.
Like we already knew , the task was/is for them to run an art gallery.
They also planned to run an exhibition in shell hall at the Muson Centre.

Guess the owner of the Gallery??
"BAD GUY 2" one of the guys in the board room . Mr Andrew __________ , is CEO of krab house gallery .

Emmanuel was made combined group supervisor. Company name was E & S Associate.
He sent them out to go do marketting and publicity for the exhibition in their original groups , Obasanjo Style. They went to cool fm, the palms, eko hotel e.t.c  and got quite a lot of commitment to attend from apparent high income earners ( and some white guys)

We find out tommorow how they do on sales on this task and on sunday we find out who gets fired.
(I guess some people on this forum already know that) grin

The "Bad Guys" also explained their position and reasons for them being so harsh. Basically , they are trying to emphasize to us youths that it is better to achieve results by going through the proper route and not short cuts.

Comments from our super heros suggest that hot beef is brewing in the house. Aftertaste of the lastweeks boardroom meeting and more.

Long and Short, This is a good, educative and for some of us entertaining show.

Interested Music producers that want their song to be featured on the intern show are to call a certain number 080_________ (I will try and get that no 2morow)

@christino : kolawole has not exactly had alot of screen time. He is still in . Staying in the middle of the pack where he wont get much attention. I thot this was a ploy but from what you say, it  just might be his nature,
.
note: I am using past tense b'because this weekend's tv show is a summary of events that happened last week,
TV/Movies / Re: The Intern Show (Reality TV) by badesemowo(m): 4:01pm On Jan 26, 2007
who is this guy we are talking about: is it the ofem ofem guy. Who is he? How did he come about being behind a show with such great potentials?

wow, now thats a challenge. i wouldn't want to be in that situation oh. Selling ARTS?

I wonder how ifende got his hands on this,

@ifende,Thanks for that information. Its enough to make me look forward to the next episode. I saw a weekly press release about the show in a newspaper last week***, could u please see if you can get a soft copy to post on this site,  at least in lieu of the site , Once again great job.

Does anybody know what happened to this show:
"bachelors for life".

I saw it on STV last year(during a five day holiday), i remember it was a monday at about 8:30pm.

The storyline was about 4 bachelors moving in together.
And there was a fine female PA to the mother of their friend, who was also single with an attitude,

nice storyline.

Alas i have not seen it since that first episode. ,
