soundOsonic:

The First step to solving a problem is that you know you have a problem. That's a good step already. You are making progress.
You are jealous because of how you were brought up. Your parents or guardians or teachers would have been comparing you to other kids.
It only takes a hit at your self esteem. Rather than celebrating others what you think is "this could have been me." It is not an emotion that propel you out of mediocrity but that which makes you wallow in bitterness. Most Nigerians suffer from this syndrome.
You don't hate others for being successful, No, what you hate is yourself for not been successful.
First understand your yourself, your strength and weakness, make goals that are achievable to make small wins to build up positive mindset. Know your limit and work towards self development.
The journey of success is not a race. It is a climb to the top of a mountain. The people who are celebrated are not those who come first or second but those who finally made it and manage to reach the top

Nicely said. You are wise.

Critical? So the 100s of millions of pregnant women out there working nko? There own pregnancy no Critical abi? There own no need support and love that is why they are out there working abi? undecided

Stop making up silly excuses for pregnant women. Pregnancy no be sickness. undecided

You keep on insisting pregnancy is not a sickness, have you been pregnant before? Seeing women working while being pregnant does not mean it's not a horrible combination. Note that not all pregnancies are the same. Some come with intense sickness such as Hyperemesis gravidarum, sciatica, etc. If she was already working before becoming pregnant, it would have been different. Finding a job as a pregnant person will obviously be difficult. Her performance will obviously slack. Do you know how many sick leaves she will take just to accommodate the pregnancy? Men should try and educate themselves about pregnancy biko instead of just being mere sperm donors.

The OP should talk to his wife and make sure she is really fine as per health wise, support her as much as he can. Allow her to put to bed safely and then when the baby is 6months let her get enrolled in an online masters course. If she is not a career person, then that is the lot he has picked seeing as these are discussions they would have had initially. I believe marriage burdens should be carried equally, hopefully she is an understanding woman who can get past her comfort zone to advance her family. Apply Wisdom OP.

Travel / My Experience At The Abuja International Airport Today by balmofgilead: 3:18pm On Oct 03, 2021
My flight from the UK into Abuja was partially smooth seeing as it had rained and the flight was a bit shaky. Thanks to God we arrived safely, disembarked from the plane and entered into the newly renovated Abuja airport. I came in with my fiance who is cameroonian and he was already filled with praise for how beautiful the Abuja airport is. In my mind I was like lets not be hasty with our compliments. Is it not my beloved country Nigeria again?

We lined up at the border control and as expected begging ensued. The official who was clearing me held my passport, telling me that he was soon going home and that my fiance should come and release me o. I was weak. Forced bribery in daylight. We went further to baggage claim begging continued. We proceeded to final exit, and we were ready for more begging and we were not disappointed.

Meanwhile the redundancy of most Nigerian procedures was once again made manifest in the fact that we earlier filled what is called a passenger health declaration and screening form online only to be told again to fill it manually. Deep sigh. Also, the Nigerian policy of paying and re-taking another covid test 7 days into your stay, could not be more of an inconvenience to travellers, only to be topped with the mandate that the covid test must be paid for upon entry.

The Nigerian hospital we had booked the 7 day covid test told us that we could pay when we come to take the test at the hospital only for the airport health officials to insist that we pay before we were allowed to pass through. That's how at 5am we started calling family members to help us with payments using a Nigerian card. Thankfully the payment on the NITP website was relatively easy I must say.

Ok, I now said let me use the toilet in our beautiful airport and like i said earlier let us not compliment too fast. The two toilet cubicles in that section of the airport was not flushing and was messed up with the unimaginable. I shook my head. Going to wash my hands, water was also not coming through. Hand sanitizer, nowhere to be found and we want to kick Covid. I laugh in Chinese.

Are the elevators and escalators in this renovated airport working, you ask? What do you think? Na so so trolley we dey push up and down. The saying what is worth doing is worth doing well could not be more befitting for the renovation at the Abuja airport. The staff of FAAN should also be rehabilitated. No more begging naw!! Professionalism should be the watch word. Let's become serious, so that the world can take us seriously. Thank you.

Family / Re: We Quarrel Because Of Sex by balmofgilead: 10:42am On Sep 10, 2021
You need to understand who your wife is. Probably she thinks sex is bad regardless of the fact you guys are married because of her orientation. I think you need to woo her all over again. Treat her like a princess by surprising her to dinner at a fancy restaurant, a massage at a spa, buy her something nice, etc. Beg your mum or anyone you trust to take care of your kids for a week. Do not ask for sex during that period. The woman might be stressed.

You can also consult a sex therapist or a marriage counsellor too. These tips may help. Sex is important in a marriage.

Travel / Re: Nigerian Sues UK For Denying Him Entry After Landing At Manchester Airport by balmofgilead: 8:06am On Aug 15, 2021
As a Lawyer, this is my Take. While the UK Embassy is expected to conduct all background and security check on an individual, they still reserve the right to deny you entry into the country if they suspect anything fishy. The statement Visa is a privilege and not a right is rather vague. I think it is safe to say entry into any country even with a valid Visa is conditional and not absolute.

There is the immigration office where you apply for your Visa, and there is the border control which have their own requirements independent of the other. In this mans case, we do not have the full facts for one, which the court will hear and make a determination upon. However, refusing him entry based on him not knowing how to draw, is rather unnecessary in my opinion. Failing to name key officials in his company is however a red flag. The company has a website, hushpuppy can have a company website too. The company's status on CAC public search is inactive. Red flag number 2.

Where his case may have some strength is in the fact that he was detained. the reason for his detention will be an issue the court will determine. If detention was necessary, he will go home with nothing, if unnecessary then he can start getting his bank account ready.

The Bible is the only religious book I have read and I find that it is full of nonsense.

I didn't say that technology is non-existent in heaven, I only say that even Mozambique's technology is a thousand times better than heaven's future technology where people will be eating scrolls and God will be using incense and other archaic stuffs

If you dont believe in him why do you waste your time talking to 'no one'. I guess you just want to humiliate certain people and I wonder why you want to bully others.

Just relax, live your life and let others do same.

Why are you angry really? Open up to me and I wont judge. I bet your story isnt as bad as some people. Please tell me.
Religion / Re: Why Is The Earth More Technologically Advanced Than Heaven? by balmofgilead: 8:34am On Apr 22, 2020
Firstly, why are you attacking the bible and christianity alone? I believe you know it's not the only religion in existence.

Also, It may just be that deep down you know that Jesus the son of the most high God is Alive. But just as a child would throw tantrums to get his parents attention, you have relentlessly chosen to seek his attention by being insolent and via the internet. You stated that in heaven technology is non-existent, how then do you expect God the one you are truly and earnestly seeking, although through the wrong means, supposed to reply you?

If you dont believe in him why do you waste your time talking to 'no one'. I guess you just want to humiliate certain people and I wonder why you want to bully others.

Just relax, live your life and let others do same.

If you have acne and/or dark spots on your face, the two items you only need are,
1. Mandelic acid serum
2. Sunscreen (SPF- SUN PROTECTION FACTOR)

Mandelic acid is a type of AHA (Alpha-hydroxy acid) that dissolves dead skin on your face or wherever you have discolouration on. It is so gentle but highly effective with no skin irritation involved.it is the best Aha for black skin!

I can personally testify to this. I was suffering with serious acne and dark marks and within 2 weeks of using mandelic acid as well sunscreen It cleared up significantly. See my forehead before and after below.

Mandelic acid als has anti-aging benefits and can be left on your face overnight which means no washing off
A bottle of mandelic acid as shown below will last you for at least 4 months. 1-2 drops is enough and is only to be used at night. It is dermatologist recommended and extremely safe with no side effects.

Sunscreen is extremely essential in your skin care routine with the intensity of the sun in Nigeria. The Nivea sunscreen is excellent. Spf of 50 and above is the best. Also, when using acidic serums it is best to follow up with a sunscreen. Sunscreen will help preserve your colour and prevent it from going dark. The importance of sunscreen can never be overemphasized.

Do your research to confirm want i am saying!

I have 10 mandelic acid serums and 10 Nivea spf 50 available.

I assure you that this would be the best investment you will make for your skin this 2020 and onwards

I have someone owing me 150k since August last year and he is not making any effort to pay back. And currently he is not taking my calls. The only evidence I have is my bank statement. Following the procedures you gave above, is there any hope of recovering my money?

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, there is still hope of recovering your money. You would need to write he/she a letter of demand and send the letter using a court's bailiff who will obtain the borrowers signature indicating reciept of the letter as I stated above. (I can do this for you free of charge)

However, before you do so, would you consider getting the 150k in installments? That is 15k every month till the debt is paid up. I would advice you send he/she a text message informing the person that he or she can pay in installments first and await a response.

Where do you reside if i may ask?

DOMINGOPAPI:
I am a Lawyer and I am 32. From a struggling home. I had a modest growing up and I worked hard to make a 3rd Class Degree at a Federal University, I didn't go to Law school afterward but eventually got called to Bar years after.

My uncle that promised me a placement died Months before I got called to the Nigeria Bar.

Prior to that I have an ACCA Certificate in International Financial Reporting. I have done all I can to get a job but I have been unlucky with that too.

Last year I managed raise over 400,000 to travel to Europe and I was duped.

I worked with few Lawyers here in a sleepy state capital in the South West of the Country and I am living terribly ,maybe worse than a lot of school leavers. All I have to myself is a small office space, my certificates and my strong but failing heart.

I am tired, depressed, frustrated and suicidal. I don't know how to continue living. I am fed up and fast going down the drain.

I need Prayers, Job, encouragement advice and any support and assistance whatsoever.

I am at a very dark position in my life and I am weary and presently secluded from people.

Please Help.
All is well. Please do not give up.

Education / READERS ARE WINNERS- Please Join This Book Club. by balmofgilead: 2:53pm On Jun 14, 2019
This book club is created to;

1. CULTIVATE A LONG-TERM HABIT OF READING

Firstly, Knowledge is PURE power and ignorance is never bliss but poverty instead. if we do not know better, we cannot do better. Unless the internet is a stream of income for you, spending as little as 10% of our valuable time looking up and reading unnecessary things on the internet, watching people live their lives, smash their goals and make us laugh, is killing our destinies. Not to sound boring, I enjoy going on Instagram, watching Lasisi Elenu's videos etc but are we doing it at the right time? There are so many distractions in this world set up to derail us from being great and the earlier we begin to plan and set strict goals, the better for our destinies.

Success means various things to people but one underlying factor every successful person possesses is Financial freedom. LEGITIMATE MONEY/INCOME IS NECESSARY and Unless you improve on yourself, your mindset/mentality, you cannot make SUSTAINABLE AND STEADY INCOME (not money gotten from mere luck). Reading is the fastest means of changing your mindset in order to set you up for success. Amongst the great benefits of reading, the ability to expand your vocabulary is a key benefit, which would enhance your communication skill, which is one of the core skills in the business world today. Through reading, you can LEARN absolutely anything you want! most people read and teach themselves how to code or invest in the stock exchange or Forex etc.

2. SHARE SUCCESS/ IMPORTANT BOOKS, VIDEOS, TIPS AND PERSONAL STORIES OF APPLYING THEM IF ANY
Prayer, Patience with ourselves, consistency and perseverance are some KEY habits to have in order to be successful. Please do share your thoughts and tips etc and job vacancies within your reach. We cannot succeed ALONE, we rise by lifting others.

3. NETWORKING WITH LIKE MINDS
Show me your friends and I will show you who you are. See Bill gates and warren buffet, Femi otedola and Dangote and so many others. Link with people who DESIRE to GROW and listen to advise. We do not know it all. Only a fool thinks he or she is wise, remain foolish and learn.

In this book club may be the richest man in the world, an inventor, that great lawyer, etc. joining this group, we can lend help to each other now or later in the future. we can even meet our business partners and investors for our companies here as well!

4. ACCOUNTABILITY AND MENTORSHIP
Here, we do not need to insult, judge or cross peoples personal space and boundaries, however, we can write our goals here and set timelines for the goals and we can ask each other for updates and advise. There is no need to hide your "limitations". Open up, because a problem shared is a problem solved!

My dear friends, NO ONE, I repeat, NO ONE is better than you and you are in competition with YOURSELF ALONE and the earlier we face our destinies the better for us. Everyone wants to be successful but being successful CANNOT be handed to you. You must work SMART to become successful and you must become VALUABLE to become successful. Apportion your time, set OUTSTANDING goals ( apply to that job in that great firm regardless of your qualification, get that qualification/profession certificate, self teach yourself how to code, aim to make a million dollars etc.) for yourself regardless of what anyone has said to you. Let us all STEP AWAY FROM OUR COMFORT ZONES and meet at the TOP.

The book for JUNE is "Mindset: the new psychology of success" by Carol S. Dweck PhD (download from this link) https://www.pdfdrive.com/mindset-the-new-psychology-of-success-d60365105.html

READING PLAN: START DATE: 14TH OF JUNE
END DATE: 30TH of JUNE
We have 16 days left. let us aim to read at least one chapter a day and discuss what we learn below after we have done the most important things in our daily plan. i have a dissertation to write myself, so i need to balance things as well.

I have started it but yet to finish it! This book is OUTSTANDING! please let us read it! let us discuss, ask and answer questions till the end of June. pls, indicate below if you are joining this group! At the end of June, we will choose another book for JULY. if you cannot download it, pls indicate! happy reading and thank you for joining!
Career / Re: Steps To Practicing Law In United States & Canada As An International Lawyer by balmofgilead: 1:48pm On Jun 12, 2019
ERONX:
Due to the poor and low stipend most law graduates and practicing lawyers make in Nigeria, most lawyers have resulted in practicing law abroad some of the countries where Nigerian international lawyers practice is the United States and Canada.
One important criteria to practicing law as an international lawyer in the U.S is that such person must sit for the American bar exam and must have graduated from an American Bar Association accredited school. Only the state of California and New York allows people who did not school in the United states to sit for their bar exams. After passing the bar exams you become licensed, and can now practice in the United States after obtaining the minimum employment authorization. Some lucrative aspect of the law to specialize in the United State are Commercial Law, Divorce Law, Entertainment Law etc.
Hello Eronx, please I need some guidance as to how to apply for the New York or California bar exams. I am a practising lawyer in Nigeria with a 2:2 in my LL.B and B.L and a distinction in my LL.M from the UK. Please, I will appreciate your kind feedback. Thank you.

Celebrities / New Shocking Revelations About Popular Blogger, Linda Ikeji's Rival Stelladimoko by balmofgilead: 1:11pm On Feb 19, 2019
For those who do not know, there is a blog dedicated to shaming Stella dimokorkus and in one of its posts revealed these about the Germany based blogger. Whether or not these allegations are true they are nothing short of alarming. some of the things revealed have been confirmed by Stella, this I would know as I have been an avid reader of Stella for many years.

"There is a wicked demon living among human beings that has been ravaging evil in Nigeria blog-sphere for over three years called Stella Dimoko. Stella Dimoko is not human, nothing but a devilish, stone-hearted demon who chooses her abode with humans and not with other evil congregants in the satanic coven.

Stella Dimoko was raped and deflowered at preteen age by her father in their Delta state home. Another version to that story was totally different, it claimed Stella was the one who always go to lure the man for sex at that tender age. She succeeded on that particular day as she was able to drug her father and eventually slept with him! The leader of the community where Stella Dimoko hailed from confirmed this story to us. This is clearly devilish and demonic! Immediately after this act (just at the age of 12 or 13), Stella Dimoko has been giving the “honey pot” to the highest bidder.

Throughout her University days, Stella Dimoko lived large, jumping from one man’s bed to another, sleeping with one ‘Aristo’ to the other. Stella Dimoko ruined several marriages, snatching several husbands from their legitimate wives using occultist means especially as she looks like the spirit animal -the hyena.. . Stella Dimoko was hardly in school, she lived large, enjoyed life, partied hard and left university with a 3rd class degree... more in
