VEHINTOLAR:Will I give what I don't have? We had to make some deliveries to get the 2k. A customer who had a package came to meet us at the junction we were stopped and begged them with #500, but those officers insisted we must go to station since I insist tricycle has nothing like driver's license. |

Babamide: They know, is it not our police again. He brought out the constitution stating driver must possess driver's license. Only the road worthiness is original, he forgot to photocopy it. |

Police in this country... They will sha look for something to catch you. That's why most of them use expensive stuff as the source of extra revenue is questionable. I was on delivery with my Tricycle rider 4 days ago, we were stopped and they asked for documents, it was provided complete. Then they asked where is rider's permit (which they know there is nothing like that over here) all because we can't give them #100 like others. Even a FRSC Marshall confirmed there is nothing like driver's license for tricycle but the officers want to extort us. Another police that understands how it is on street even confirmed to his colleagues that nothing like such for tricycle. They took us to MTD section of the station where those ones brought out a driver's license that expired in 2010 as sample. To cut story short, these people asked us to pay 10,000 or we go to court. But as I couldn't afford the time wasting, I had to give them 2,000. Meanwhile after giving the 2k the officer with our documents already left office, the next day, the officer we paid to said we should come back by 4pm that day... Up till now we have not gotten our papers back. 7 Likes 3 Shares |

akeem0706514:... There might be refund issues, layoffs reduce speed of action. I know how many people I help daily on that, but I can only attend to those who reach out, it's not easy in here. |

jeff1607: I clearly understand this. One thing I do most times for customers is to check through description. Once the description does not follow what should come then no solid return claim. I am not sure my return have ever been declined. Then comes the Nigerian factor where many want to defraud the others, the best Jumia can do is to make vendors put proper drscription on their item as all items can't be checked before getting to customer. Don't also forget some customers are also dubious, I have seen situations where customer changed content of package, not 5 times and then claim return was rejected. Business is not easy in here. |

jeff1607: This is Nigeria where everyone want to outsmart others. I don't see why there should be fear with making orders on Jumia because the return policy is awesome. As it stands, Jumia is rebuilding, I am still much in the system fully as agent and partner and I can say everything is still working fine. There might be slight delays with delivery, refunds and resolutions generally due to economic situation, but Jumia is fighting and will survive with all the current changes implemented. I can always be of assistance when it comes to Jumia orders and issue resolution, you have to get good value of your hard-earned money. |

At times I don't blame these scammers, but those that fell into their trap. When I started my business, I remember talking to some people about borrowing me money while I pay back with 10% the following month. Myself and wife will labour all around the market to ensure we get customers to buy our goods just to ensure everything goes fine. After like 5 months, my investors said they can't continue with 10%, they wanted more which I know I can't afford except I want to be doing business for them to be making the gains, I just dropped everything... These are people who think they are extremely smart, as in, perfectionist. I would rather not do what will make my conscience to always flog me. Even at the 10%, it was affecting my own earnings, but I believed with consistency, it will all make sense later. They would rather fall for this kind of professional scam because it looks extremely real to them. 4 Likes |

I am a Jumia agent and I can tell you that 80% of my customers are from Nairaland, I don't know them from anywhere else, in fact, not in person but they trusted me with their money and up till date I don't have anyone who can stand and say I defrauded him or her, instead, they keep referring people to me for Jumia orders due to the awesome experience with me and thwir orders. Fraudulent people are just everywhere. 1 Like |

Nairaland! All that I have become sales-wise is because this forum is in existence. That I have the customer base, it is because this forum is in existence. Over 70% of my customers are nairalanders and all trusted me with their money even without knowing me in person. Many will even recommend me. This forum is seriously underrated with comments I have read so far. I am proud to be a nairalander. 5 Likes 1 Share |
