Go and study ur english text book and dictionary for the interview. Just to ask u one question, how many interviewer hav u seen dat use grammar to ask u question in an interview? They all use simple english dat even a primary school student will understand or terms relating to ur field of study.
My humble advice to those in the technical field
1, If u have any technical experience, pls go and research more about it
2, If u don't have any experience, ensure dat ur school project reflect on ur CV and prepare to defend it again, dat show u are also technically incline. Instead of studying english now, study technical terms relating to ur field.

Dis is where I rest my case about english or no english, grammar or no grammar Thank u all

No one is saying you shouldn't be able to defend your cv. And the word 'chosed' for instance, isn't big grammar (as you chose to describe it). These are basic things. But please, by all means do what whatever makes you sleep at night.

I rest my case.

'FULLY WELL' shud read 'FULL WELL'

Thanks. You are right. But fully is a synonym for full. Just as entirely, very; hence they could be used in same sentence. And the word 'full well' is a traditional style of English.
But yea, thanks again.

The people saying English is not a necessity are actually the ones prolonging this matter. There is nothing wrong if you make a mistake and you are corrected. No one is perfect and we are all learning.

But it becomes a concern that one makes a mistake and is being corrected but he/she refuses correction and instead, tries to prove he is right.

It's even of greater concern that a graduate will say English is not a necessity in Engineering, knowing fully well that 1)NNPC isn't recruiting only Engineers. 2)a good communication skill takes you far in life. We are all GT's/OT's, and thus, your technical experience is not really needed. It is your ability to COMMUNICATE to them why they should hire you amongst your peers.

If you are corrected, it's for your good. Accept it and move on so we can discuss better things here

Whether they are sending more or not, the truth is that everybody will not be called. Even if they called everybody that wrote the exam, NNPC cannot take everybody. If NNPC want to take everybody that applied, there will be no need for the Test. That is simple logic.

We all know this. But there is this thing where people don't want to face reality and thus, you shouldn't hurt their feelings by saying the truth. Someone called it emotional intelligence.

Very plausible. But this sort of thing happens every time so it is expected. It still doesn't give credence to the "more-texts" chant.

Emotional intelligence requires you to sing along with the "more-texts" chants. Lol

I heard if Gudluck losses this election, the NNPC recruitment will b cancelled. Dats why PCL/NNPC stop d interview based on d logistics word..meaning after election outcomes. If buhari wins, dis recruitment will b cancelled and another fresh one conducted..

NNPC called for the test because they have needs, not because Jonathan is in power. NNPC doesn't belong to Jonathan(or an individual). So if there is a need, irrespective of who is in power, the space has to be filled.

The only people that get affected by change in power are usually those in the very top positions like the GMD. And this does not even happen immediately power changes hands

Bro, some of the accounts on NHJ are owned by those who are also registered on NL. It is the same information that is being peddled by all and sundry.

So NNPC told PCL to stop sending texts, knowing fully well that those who were successful and are yet to receive will be traumatized because some of their mates have already received it. If everyone had received the texts by now, what would have changed?

Then the same PCL that were told to stop sending texts, decided of their own volition to send texts again (8 days after) to the same group of people that they had already sent a successful message to, yet they left the other group of 'successful' candidates hanging?

Hmmmmm. Someone (I believe Winston Churchill) described diplomacy as the ability to call someone else a fool without them knowing that you did. (And no this message is not directed at you wink )

*Back to feigning emotional intelligence* grin

My question too. NNPC ask them to pause (according to claims), based on some reasons, that the INTERVIEW can't be conducted now. Nothing stops PCL from sending successful texts to all successful candidates ... So we know that it's the interview date that hasn't been fixed.
Well, if they are yet to send some texts, then they need to learn emotional intelligence too cry

LOL. That dapsy guy is hell bent on saying that the word 'chosed' is right. Even from your attached picture, you have present tense as 'I chose', 'you chose', as against 'I choose ', 'you choose' .... And by this, i guess we are talking about 2 different words. In your case, you are talking abt the verb 'to chose'(which does not exist by the way), and we are talking about the verb 'to choose'.

If only you can accept your error rather than your continuous effort to prove you have no idea at all

LOL. I have no words for you. But if you followed the thread before then, you would have noticed he was calling people out for grammatical errors. So I only did that to show that no one is perfect.

My brother or is it sis, I'm very gracious in defeat and would gladly accept when I'm wrong. You just referred to the present, past and past participle of choose. Run down through your note on tenses and you would find what we call a perfect tense.

Learn to accept corrections sir!

@scrypt, thanks for ur comment, you earn my respect for that but pls permit me to make one last comment on this.
@Sombaby, I really wouldn't want to join issues with you but your point would have made sense to me if there was any phrase in my first post that stated that name you called. I was simply referring to everybody or anybody that does that and even after your comment, I began to wonder if ur reply was based on the fact that you were also guilty of such or you were just expressing your own opinion. Now I know the catalyst. That been said, I gave your UGLY friend an opportunity to come plain with her point in my first post to her and rather than take a more honourable path, she decided to throw a jab at me. If she actually understood my comment, she wouldn't go that way or maybe she just chosed to take a confrontational position. Anyway, I want to believe you don't want to go on that same lane 'cos I didn't set out to run anybody down in particular and I take serious exception to anybody striking directly at me. I would pardon ur utterances 'cos I can see you simply didn't understand where I was coming from but next time I may not be that benevolent. Thanks.

It's 'chose' though.

Friends, I don't get it when you tagged my post confusing. I expressed my appreciation to those already sure of their invitation. Also I wanted to confirm if all categories were getting the invitation. Not yet, strongly believe. Meanwhile I think they have a rescheduled the distribution of IVs for reason I think is related to delay in getting a go ahead from NNPC.

Your post is confusing because it is on record that nobody has been sent invites. So you saying "congrats to those who have received invites" makes everyone in here to think that some people actually got invited. What people received is the congratulations text and the subsequent one explaining reason for the delay, not an invitation for interview.

A number of people who claimed to have called PCL, come up with different stories as to why the invited has not been sent.

The possibility that SMS will still be sent is little. but then, there is a higher probability that emails will be sent even to some people who didn't get the SMS.

So I think everyone should be calm and wait till the emails start dropping

This is highly unlikely because Philips Consulting could not have sent the initial texts without the consent or instruction of their client- NNPC. Even in such an event, Philips consulting were never the one's to organise the interviews, so the only other texts or emails they would owe anyone is the schedule for the interviews. Period.
I am not a harbinger of bad news but we need to be able to spot the difference between a fact and a diplomatic response issued to assuage a hurting mind.
My 2 cents, but there's plenty where it came from. grin

My thoughts exactly. PCL wouldn't have started sending out SMS without the consent of NNPC. So saying "NNPC asked them to stop" doesn't sound so true. It could be that NNPC ain't ready for interviews yet and so haven't given the dates for that... So PCL can't go further.

This is rather too harsh. That you get a job under a particular administration should not be the only reason you should vote for the continuity of the administration.
