that was the best Classico i have ever seen as a Barca fan. In a neutral's point of view the game had everything you want in a match. Up's and down's; Loads of goals; the tension at the end was fantastic, and when that hat-rick goal for Messi went in, i reacted as if we had won. Before the game i had a good feeling Messi would make his come back, and oh how he did that in style. He has written his name down in the history books and i'm sure he will many more times, i am so happy for him, what a dream come true.

It stinks that Real Madrid managed to draw against us and that the ref was a complete plonker and ruined our chances of winning when he sent off Oggy-Bear, but i have no complaints what so ever, Fantastic.

Oh, and what is it with people saying Barcelona don't play like a team and instead play like individuals? We pushed so hard for a 3rd goal and the effort from the TEAM was fantastic. Our back 4/3 (whatever) became steady(ish), and our passing was quick and affective even though alot of the time Madrid did well to break our play down. Even though we didn't win, i think the spirit shown in that game given to us by a 19 year-old will lift us to win the League.

Sometimes a draw feels like a win, it really does. With 10 mins left, and ten men, only God could have saved us,

ALL HAIL THE MESSI(ah),

Football at it's best. That's why it's the best game in the world, no questions.

kitaun:

Nice stats that u havent lost in some goddamn jersey? Go ask your boys how much tears they have shed 2nite whilst mopping their faces!! Barca is out, that they won today is bloody irrelevant!!

I KNOW THEY'RE OUT, i just think its a small consolation, 2-2 overall. Respectable, in some ways.

The defensive errors at the Camp Nou effectively killed us in reflection. Had Marquez cleared properly. Had Valdez been sharper. This win at Anfield would have been enough. Good to see Guddy score. He was the forgotten man.
What cost us tonight was lack of team play from Eto'o and Messi, both of them tried to dribble and lost the ball in the attacking 3rd instead of trying to find a pass or that killer pass and because of that, we really didn't threaten Liverpool all that much. infact they were all to blame.they were acting for the opening 60 minutes like they couldnt be bothered and wished they could be anywhere else than the cold north of England, shame!! Anyway, its good to win the game. And we still haven't lost in the yellow shirts, which is a nice stat to have

Club America 0-4 Barcelona

Ronaldinho led Barca to a 4-0 win
Ronaldinho inspired Barcelona to a 4-0 win over Mexican side Club America that booked their place in the final of Fifa's Club World Championship.
Former Chelsea star Eidur Gudjohnsen gave Barcelona the lead in the 11th minute after a superb three-man move.

Defender Rafael Marquez doubled Barca's lead when he headed in a Deco corner before Ronaldinho added a third.

The Brazilian then unselfishly set up Deco, who drilled a fierce right-foot shot into the top corner.

Barca cruised to a comfortable victory in front of 62,000 fans in Yokohama, Japan, and will face Brazil's Internacional in Sunday's final.

The closest Club America came to scoring was a Salvador Cabanas free-kick that goalkeeper Victor Valdes saved low to his right to block in the 23rd minute.

Barcelona are hot favourites to go one better than Johan Cruyff's flamboyant side of the early 1990s by returning to Spain with their first world title.

Cruyff's Barcelona were beaten 2-1 by Sao Paulo in 1992 in the competition's forerunner - a one-off encounter between the European and South American champions.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (Reuters) -- European champions Barcelona have been ranked the number one "power brand" in football.

The Catalan club pushed English Premier League Manchester United into second place in the chart compiled by London-based sponsorship agency Global Sponsors.

The list, released at the Soccerex business and sport conference in Dubai, ranked Real Madrid in third with Chelsea, AC Milan, Bayern Munich following.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Inter Milan and Lyon completed the top 10.

The sponsorship agency compiled the list using a survey of 100 contacts and clients.

Using a points system, respondents ranked clubs over a number of criteria including history of winning competitions, quality of current sponsors, matchday attendance, profile of the club's manager and the quality and capacity of their stadium.

"Barcelona's international appeal has been enhanced by global icons such as Ronaldinho and manager Frank Rijkaard, who are widely recognized," the agency's commercial director Michael Stirling said.

"The club has developed innovative ways of reaching a global audience."

Reflecting on United's second-place spot, Stirling said: "Manchester United were perhaps an unlikely candidate to finish so far up in the survey given the lack of success in recent times and widespread negative publicity the club has suffered since the hostile (Malcolm) Glazer takeover.

"However, respondents acknowledged that it is not easy to build a truly global brand and United were well on their way to doing so before the distraction of the takeover."

Stirling said recent success on the pitch had improved perceptions, while players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney enhance brand value and recognition.

"No club can compete with the success of Real Madrid's sporting success of winning the European Cup nine times, which entitles it to finish in the top three," Stirling said of the Spaniards.

"Its purchases of world class players or at least world class marketing icons such as David Beckham, Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo, has brought with it a global fan base."

The agency said Chelsea had powered its way up the list by drawing global attention with big money signings of the world's biggest names.

------------
Not only are we the best team in the world on a football pitch, we are the best in the world off it and we didnt need to sign "Galacticos" every season in order to do it.

Visca Barça!

1-2. Marquez bleeps up and Valdes is left helpless. Since the chelsea game he's been a liability, i think every goal we conceded this season has Marquez at fault, I hate to say it, since he's one of my favorites, but we can't afford to keep playing him if he is going to not pay attention!!!

nah the squad we have now are perfectly capable of winning
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Barcelona Fans Thread by barca4evar(f): 6:45pm On Nov 17, 2006
I dont want to see Ronaldinho start at the mallorca game to be honest. The 2 CL matches are more important right now and we can afford to have some slip ups in the league. Ezquerro, Guddy, and Giuly can do a good job against Mallorca with a good midfield behind them. I really hope we dont lose anymore players especially in the attacking department.

My predicted squad is: Valdes, Jorquera, Iniesta, Ronaldinho, Puyol, Sylvinho, Giuly, Marquez, Gudjohnsen, Oleguer, Thuram, Motta, Zambrotta, Deco, Gio, Ezquerro, Xavi, youth player (Calvo/Jeffren possibly).

henke larsson might be back for barca cool, all fingers crossed grin

Helsingborgs have confirmed they might be willing to loan veteran striker Henrik Larsson for three months.

Barcelona are currently struggling with injuries and reports in Spain have suggested that they might approach Larsson about a possible loan.

Larsson insists he has not yet been contacted by the Catalan club, which he left in the summer after a successful two-year stint.

However, Helsingborgs have admitted an offer could appeal to them financially, especially as the Swedish league season does not start until April.

"We haven't received any offer yet, so we will see what happens in the coming days," stated sports director Bosse Larsson.

"They are in a different financial world to us, so it is obvious that it could be financially attractive for us."

injuires are part of football, we just have to deal with them, the year b4 last we had Edmilson, Larsson,Gabri and Motta ruled out yet we won La liga, last year we had Xavi and Messi(for the latter part), Eto'o for almost a month wid Cameroon and yet we won the double. This season will be no different, WE WILL PREVAIL, we still have guddy, giuly ronaldhinio, and theres always dos santos:p

saviolas out, he won't be back until around the same time as Eto'o and Messi. He has apparently ruptured a bicep in his leg or something along those lines.

"The Argentinean Leo Messi will be about three months of loss after confirming itself that he undergoes a fracture of the fifth metatarsiano of the left foot, later to leave the field during first half of the party that faces its equipment, Barcelona, and to the Zaragoza in the Camp Nou. The young forward will have to pass by the operating room in the next hours."

sad news sad, if dinho plays like he did today against levski&bremen , and rijkaard uses saviola instead of iceman, we'll be in the last 16 no doubt.
