By alj harem when nollywood started did it not start by land allocation and funds from the SG of lagos.

lie lie and kingsize lie. wait lagos state government are you talking about here, do lagos state gov sponsor yoruba movies? how will they sponsor an igbo movie(nollywood) hahahahaha you are a joke my dear your hatred is obviouse.

by alj haram there has to be fund released by the State to get him started.

that is what we are talking about ,in the east government don't release a dine for you survival,we succed by individual efforts. Alj haram am sorry because you guys cannot do unless gov came for your rescue so try another region bc fed gov aint interested in us they are afraid of the unknown.
infact let me make it clear, majority of the people going north and west are the people that couldn't compete anymore in the east. i am an example of it. when am ok i stay in onitsha main mkt but when i couldn't compete any more i came to lagos and took their weak advantage.

thank you very much that is one thing they will never understand . had to expand to invest to abuja and yenogoa too cus men my fellow igbo competitors where choking me in the east and ph.

Not much kaunris in lagos but have a good population around 800,000, rough estimate.

i have a cousin as part of the custom officers, tell me what u want him to do.

maybe we should tax them 200,000N per container. still thing
and you wonder why things are getting more expensive in nigeria you think they are fools they will add triple of their loss to the cost of the product and nigerians will keep suffering for that.

wrong, who are the weak and fools. But that aside

what land are you talking about. when nollywood started did it not start by land allocation and funds from the SG of lagos. So given people land would not solve the problem.

so by giving them land, u expect someone from the north to just go and build a house and business their. It does not work like that

the enivornment has to be there.

there have to be market for him. ie people that would buy his product

there has to be fund released by the State to get him started.

same was done to Igbos in lagos so why can they do the same to northerners and yorubas

the envoriment has to be right and it is not. the market has to be there.

lies, nobody gave igbos money , you never give your people money na igbos wey una dey fear of domination you wan give money and nollywood started in enugu.

Igbo man as usual, always thinking of how to get rich on other peoples back. Ask yourself, how many of the Hausas or Yorubas leaving in the east get any contract from the state government in the east before you start making noise in the west.

any how many igbos sat down in their house waiting for contract to come to them?

Actually, they did. If we gave you no sense of belonging or if we did not accommodate you, the same thing that is happening to your people in Jos and other Northern states would be hapening in Yorubaland now. Are you getting comfortable because Yorubas do not implement violence in their everyday life?

rubbish , you still have mentioned what they were denied ,SE is open to everybody its not as if the bank that give loans to start buisness belong to igbos., not as if federal government have investments in igboland , people depend on themselves and the little enugu state govt (which is not even oil producing or a big economy) can dash out.

Ileke-IdI:

Nobody is worried about competition. Atleast give non-indigence the chance to compete. It's only because of the small population. Let it continue to grow and you'll feel competition.

what exactly have they been denied, honestly its not until i started going to other regions that i learned about tribalism in nigeria, its not until i was 23 and outside nigeria that i even realised most people i grew up with in enugu and in my neighbourhood where not igbo, though we all speak igbo  i realised they where urobo, edo ,ibibio. its only people that have not been to the SE that will make such comments, theres is no such thing as tribalism in the south east you only have fierce competition.

the hausas have managed to take over money exchange buisness in the whole SE and nobody is complaining or trying to take it from them.

The problem is the average mindset of the easterners wont allow any social integration with settlers. Remove the pots of violence in the north then, the east is the worst place  to live in naija.

we dont do ethnic profiling in the SE , its a competitive place free for all. SE remains the only part of nigeira non indegins are not targeted and killed , nobody talks about ethnicity in the SE except for hausas/fulanis that stand out cus of suya and cattle rearing and mosques. we have foringners that have settled ,married and livin in the SE too , they even have their festival every november in enugu called nigerwives. educate yourself more about nigeria.

Judging from your post, one can easily assume that your thoughts are misguided. It's not about handing free land or any other sorts of handouts. Please read clearly, especially where the article stated that both groups are being denied their national rights of "a sense of belonging" in any state of their choice in Nigeria. Give them those rights so that they can easily expand and prosper.

Let me quickly shift from the topic to point out that if Enugu people are declining such alienable rights, then why are the same group crying for FESTAC state in another region which does not "belong" to them?

Again, read my post to chyz. Seems like you're both misguided.

what exactly is that national rights they were denied?

excatly, u can nt easly identify a yoruba or ibibio man in the SE does not mean they are not there
we are saying the same thing there are lots of non igbo there especially ibibio, efik, edos, hausas and ijaws but enugu people dont go about checking who is igbo and who is not like most states do.

SE governors have been giving appointments to non igbos, its not a big deal.

they don't have to do it, they have done it in one state and it is upto A SE governor to talk the right thing and do the right thing. Nothing last forever

a beg leave tribal intention and lets face the matter squally

all man for himself but ohaneze can beg for post in other states

that is not right, if nigerians are trying to integrate people in their states, i believe the SE can do the same to show their intent

each time the SE taalk of marginaisation in kano and lagos, nigerians have a sense of pity for their brothers(becos we are brothers) and try to appoint them as much as they can even against the intentions of the locals

why can the same be done in the SE

idoma does not mean u are integrating, same as lagos used iragiji to goven them and itsekiri as well

we are talking about hausa or yoruba here

when did southeasterners cry marginalisation in other states? i know about cases they complained of their markets or properties destroyed by govts which shows they never depended on the govt in the first place, pls i dont know what your intentions are but the hausas and the yorubas i see in enugu go about their buisness without harrasment just as you said in the south east you dont even know who is igbo, efik ,ibibio, ijaw or yoruba.

Boy, article says Enugu Govt has done well in sustaining peace, but the article is implying that marginalization is still a difficulty non-indigence of Enugu goes through. I'm sure the article title is not hard to miss.

Evidently, There's still a problem that needs to be solved; marginalization.

and what has he done for the indigens, you dont know the south east nobody has time to breast feed or spoon feed anybody , na all man to himself whether your from enugu or not no concern anybody. the same applies to all the states in nigeria.

alj what exactly are they complaining about ? political appointment(we have idomas that are enugu natives too)? land(land is not free anywhere)? pilgrimage(enugu govt should have no buisness with that afterall its a christian state)? jobs(federal presence is low in enugu so residents depend on state and private sector and enugu dont really have a big economy)?
i know you had tribalist intentions when posting this thread but i dont see what the complaint is about.

as long as no body is harrasing anybody in enugu na all man to himself.

@tpia,

The people themselves have declared who they are and what their intention is. Are you sure they are not Yoruba?

We don't say Ijebus are not Yorubas or the Ijeshas or the Aworis are not Yoruba. Lukumi is their dialect under the Yoruba nation.

Go to FB and type "ugbodu" in search or "lukumi"

ugbodu is an igbo name the same facebook your making refrence to confirms it .

no am saying they should mind their business, its up to you to determine what you want to do in the north but as things are now Nigerians are not happy about the poverty rate and illiteracy in the north and also to continuous killing of Christians over there.

They lived there for centuries and refused to give up their pride, in fact rejected neighboring pressure. They don't mind communicating in your language, their destiny is not Igbo. I have counted online over 10 different settlers say you are the wrong choice.

I am Lagosian, and we are the most educated group in the country. Trust me on that. Everyone i know  family and extended have PhD's. As far back as my great grand father was educated and my family has never lacked for so many generations. So i dont know what you are talking about? So what if there are miscreants? Do you want me to pull up the thread about Igbo Almajiri? Not everyone likes to sit down and sing their praises of first generation people that have just seen the four walls of a classroom. Next time you pull out your guns, know your aim. Read the thread well before you come and fight.

rubish even with migrants in lagos  the state still still cant match anambra in terms of educated people , your family may have phds but anambra continues to produce the highest number of literated  after imo and highest number of phd holders , go to the nigerian statistics website and educate yourself.

@ Genius 100,
Ofcourse Anioma would have to join the South East. That way, South Eastern traders and industrialists can really cooperate with Anioma bankers like Pat Utomi (Bank PHB), Tony Elumelu (Uba) Jim Ovia (Zenith), Nduka Obaigbena (Thisday) Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, e.t.c, to develop Igboland.

the state creation issue is just a hype that have been going on for a long time , don't think its happening anytime soon but if it is then anioma really should be created , i just hope their elders are working hand in hand with SE elders on this issue to make the SE eastern politicians understand how anioma state can benefit the igbo nation. only south easterners are able to pull the strings the aniomas cannot do it on their own.
