I am sure the outcome will be different.

Politics / President Tinubu Receives ‘quick Win Report’ On Fiscal Policy And Tax Reforms by bbonair(m): 8:08pm On Oct 25, 2023
President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday in Abuja received the ‘Quick Win Report’ on fiscal policy and tax reforms from the Committee tasked with improving the nation’s revenue profile and business environment.

Responding to a presentation by Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, the President commended their work and assured them of his support for the review and implementation of key recommendations.

”I have listened attentively to your report. Charting the critical path forward for Nigeria’s economic recovery is crucial to all of us. I want to say thank you to your delegation,” he said.

President Tinubu granted the request of the Committee to address a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and apprise cabinet members of their work and expected outcomes to facilitate economic growth.

The President directed Ms. Hadiza Bala Usman, the Special Adviser on Policy Coordination, to coordinate with the relevant government officials for the session.

In his remarks, the Acting Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Mr. Zacch Adedeji, pledged to ensure the implementation of the recommendations of the Committee, as they may apply, pending the approval of the President.

Mr. Adedeji declared that beyond supporting the fiscal and tax reforms, the FIRS will explore opportunities to diversify the nation’s revenue sources, as the historical overreliance on oil has made the economy vulnerable.

”Nigeria’s fiscal policy serves as the foundation of economic stability. It dictates how the government collects, manages and allocates resources for the betterment of our people. A well-developed fiscal policy is crucial for provision of infrastructure, healthcare, education and social services to our growing population. Tax reforms are an integral part of a robust fiscal policy.

”While our current tax system has contributed significantly to our revenue, there remains room for further enhancement; enhancement that can be driven with digital technology. To achieve this, we are collaborating with the Presidential Committee to streamline our tax laws, improve voluntary compliance, and expand the tax base to ensure equity and fairness,” the Acting FIRS Chairman said.

In his prayers to the President, Mr. Oyedele, among others, called for an emergency economic intervention bill (Executive Bill) and the issuance of Presidential Executive Orders to address the duplication of functions across the public service, and to ensure prudent public financial management in a bid to optimize value from government assets and natural resources.

I honestly don't know of it's Laziness or what but Nigeria Doctors always go for the last option which is Extraction.

They would rather opt for Extraction and would never suggest root canal treatment, even if a person have removed 4teeths, they will still opt for Extraction.

Most developed country would be happy to do all they can and when there is no way out again before they opt for Extraction. Keeping as much natural teeth as possible is the best, why then do Nigeria dentist always opt for Extraction?

Sadly, if you insist on restorative measures, the will tagged you stubborn patient. Tired much.

You have explained it yourself, 2 parties exploring 2 different means of voting, the other knowing fully well told his supporters to vote physically also knowing that the physical will be counted first and in the process he will declare himself the winner of the election and on the other hand the other party informed their supporters to vote by mail more due to the pandemic.

Thanks for your input bro, I have the same thought initially but I noticed the data usage keeps increasing. How so?
The increase is due to additional apps you deleted from your phone, if you don't uninstall additional apps it won't increase.

Religion / Re: "His Name Is Not Jesus" - Daddy Freeze Condemns The Name 'Jesus' by bbonair(m): 9:33pm On Oct 31, 2018
Waakanda:
Madness at its peak cool

Can someone tell this guy there's something called "Arbitrariness of Language". In other words, if a group of people agreed to start referring/calling a stone, "Brubru"... then it stands. With that, the word 'stone' can easily go into oblivion and everyone knows that hard thing as 'blublu'.

To explain this vividly, the word 'stone' means 'okuta' in Yoruba language, 'nkume' in Igbo, and 'dutse' in Hausa. The adoption of such different names is purely based on agreement among the individual ethnic groups.

The word/name "Jesus" can be likened to the above. That's why Yorubas pray with the word "Jesu Kristi" and those with faith in it get results... same with other tribes. Remember, the Bible says "Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven (Matthew 18:19 KJV)".

Therefore, the word "Jesus" may be a product of agreement and I don't have any problem using it for the purpose it's meant for. Freeze lacks the locus standi to denigrate or belittle the name in question because of the forces that gave it the recognition it's enjoying today and forever.
Your explanation is deep, God bless you...

Sports / Real Madrid Sack Lopetegui: Where It Went Wrong At The Santiago Bernabeu by bbonair(m): 10:36pm On Oct 29, 2018
Real Madrid have sacked head coach Julen Lopetegui just 14 games into a difficult spell at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Lopetegui was contentiously appointed ahead of the World Cup and tasked with replacing three-time Champions League winner Zinedine Zidane, but he fell well short of the Frenchman's standards.

A tough stint began prematurely as Spain sacked their coach for agreeing the switch, while his first competitive game in charge saw the European champions beaten 4-2 by rivals Atletico Madrid.

Lopetegui's time in charge came to an end with a 5-1 hammering by Barcelona in El Clasico that leaves them in ninth place, seven points behind the champions.

Having been handed the unenviable job of tackling a packed Madrid agenda in pre-season, things really did not go to plan. We look at the failed tasks that cost Lopetegui.

SETTLE THE FUTURES OF KEY MEN

Task: With Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale openly discussing possible moves, Lopetegui needed to find a solution with both players that would work in Madrid's favour.

How it panned out: Perhaps Lopetegui's biggest issue was Ronaldo departing before his reign was even up and running. A transfer to Juventus left Madrid without their talisman and short up front. Bale stayed and initially impressed but was very poor against Barca. The next man in at the Bernabeu will have the same problem.

KEEP ZIZOU'S REGULARS ON SIDE

Task: An all-star side had to keep performing regardless of Ronaldo's future. Karim Benzema - popular with Zidane, despite not always convincing - would be the subject of a big Lopetegui call, too.

How it panned out: Ronaldo's absence may not have been so keenly felt had other stars not floundered. Sergio Ramos turned in a number of shaky displays - including in the Clasico drubbing - while Luka Modric appeared distracted and Toni Kroos flopped. Benzema remained, was left without serious competition and, after a pair of early LaLiga braces, contributed to an astonishing goal drought.

BRING IN A WORLD-CLASS GOALKEEPER

Task: After years of links to Thibaut Courtois, David De Gea and the like, would Lopetegui finally ditch Keylor Navas and bring in an elite performer in goal?

How it panned out: Courtois did arrive, but the coach dithered as Navas briefly kept his place and then continued to play the Champions League games. While hardly a major problem, Lopetegui's failure to decisively deal with the issue perhaps summed up this dreadful spell in which he could not stamp his authority on the squad.

BUILD AROUND YOUNG STARS

Task: Leading a young Spain side into the World Cup as genuine contenders, the hope was that Lopetegui could coax brilliance from Madrid's exciting cast of prospects.

How it panned out: Not only was Lopetegui denied the opportunity to coach his country in Russia but poor results at the Bernabeu meant he was also robbed of the time to develop young players. Theo Hernandez was sent out on loan and Vinicius Junior remains a fringe man. Dani Ceballos and Marco Asensio were handed starting roles but did not grasp their opportunity.
