I applied for passport renewal at Festac and picked it up today (strictly DIY). Submitted my documents and captured 1st July. Just walked in today and it was ready as of 28th July.
So Festac people 4 weeks after capturing, just go and check if your passport is ready, don't wait for sms.

Lol. If i haven't read it (this particular thread page one) i won't even know i can use a gift deed or FD or even need to notarize etc. And yes some of the comments were misleading until i did proper research by asking questions for clarity and also double checking cic website. I know what I'm talking about! If i read or not is it not for my own knowledge? Eyyy wey God o. Why are we even arguing about if i read it or not?. Well thanks to you both o. I see people replying questions that was already asked by another person just moments before , but to clarify something of weeks/months back is a problem. Well done o.. Lol. All the same thanks for not ignoring, you're right about that.

Let me summarize the responses so far to your questions:
These questions have been answered and addressed over and over in pages of this thread, take your time and go through them. if the answers on page 1 are misleading, then nobody fit answer your questions be that.
However if you are still waiting for someone to come and answer the questions for you, good luck
Peace

Hmmm, meaning you haven't noticed Tina26.

You cant blame them. These questions have been answered over and over, most cases a page or two back. Some of them can easily be answered by using google. The unnecessary questions make genuine questions not to be answered on time cos it takes take trying to catch up and lets be frank with ourselves, that people take out time to help answer questions here doesnt mean they dont have other things to do with their time.
If only there was a way of pinning the info "first time here? Read page 1 before proceeding". That would help.

Hopeful123:
Nice info on TCF

I have a few questions on both please for the purpose of self evaluation.

1) Does anyone have an idea of how TEF scores are calculated to get this Reading - 300 total and Listening - 360 total?

considering that in the manual ir says there are Listening - 60 questions, 1 point for each correct answer. Can one just multiply by 6?? so if I get all 60 questions right that is 360 points?

Reading - 50 questions, 1 point for each correct answer. Can I just multiply by 6?

On TCF

As it is computer based. Is the scoring automated for all section including the speaking and writing? Or just like TOEFL where the speaking is recorded and writing typed on a computer but is scored by human rater?

If scored by Human rater, how does one compete favorably in a french speaking country.

You know there is an aspect of subjectivity to speaking and writing. Like in lome or cotonou for example, others are speaking fluently and then when it is a Nigerian turn person start to dey speak with English accent. will it not be advisable to do it in Lagos where the examiner will be hearing similar accent and even appreciate say we try small.

Please comments would be appreciated. Thanks

About the english accent part in writing TCF in Lome or Cotonou, someone who wrote there said your accent doesnt matter. Its the french you are speaking they are more interested in

Cool. Was just curious especially as i think it's computer based CBT. Where did you get an AZERTY keyboard? How did you make payment? With a card or wire transfer?

Yes i heard its computer based. Well i heard you can download the AZERTY keyboard. Havent paid yet and i heard one has to go there to register and pay so i'm still trying to find a way around it as i cant go there yet.
Are you considering going there to write as well?

Crime / Re: My Phone Was Stolen And My Firstbank Account Was Debited Without My Pin ! by Beezus: 9:32pm On Feb 28, 2019
Experienced something similar early this year but with Access bank. my phone was snatched around 6:45am. Went to block my sim that morning by 9ish and the lady at Mtn office asked me some questions to be sure the line was mine. when she asked when was the last time i loaded the phone and the amount. She didnt say anything and was just looking at me in a certain way, even when she asked the last phone the sim was used. it was when i was able to retrieve my line i understood better. they used my sim in another phone cos my phone was password protected.
the first thing the thief did was to try buying airtime from all banks using ussd to know which banks were linked to my sim. then they transfered the money i had with access. they couldnt do that with my other banks maybe because i had activated mobile banking with those accounts so they didnt know the pin. didnt have that with access so i think they activated it and made use of it. all thus was done in less than an hour. first bank they bought airtime but got frustrated i think when they couldnt transfer it to another line.
i went to access bank and they promised to look into it and get back to me. that one i just know say na voicemail straight as i havent heard from them since then.
i think if your phone is stolen, try and block the sim asap if you accounts are linked to it. if the sim is blocked, i doubt if they can do any transactions using it.

yeah, i made the same mistake as Brainybell. now for the commissions, which part of the form do u think is best 4 me 2 mention it?

@ Justwise: aside from my salary, I also earn commissions from my company which usually varies, where do you advise I put that in the form aside from the "additional information" section?

Then to spend £1,400 in few weeks on that salary is just over the top, that did not help your application at all

You did not mention how you earn in a month to be able to spend that much in a few week in the UK

salary is 108k. i mentioned in the additional information section that i receive commissions as well although it varies. actually i thot the question meant how much i could afford to spend for the trip

How much did you budget for the trip?

i wrote 1,400 pounds. if i want to reapply, how much do u thnk if i put as my budget will make me stand more chances?
Also d commission aspect, will they consider that if i mention it under d part they ask if i have any other addition income? or where do u think i should include it?

My sister was in the same situation. She called the hotel to change the date of arrival to a later date. Im sure the hotel was called to ask if she made any reservation with them cos my relatives in her form were called. She did get her visa.

Justwise, we are still waiting for you oooo shocked
Vicjustice, pls attend to questions, u hv been away for long, kilon shele?

House, pls wht do you advise I do now. I hvnt heard from the VO since I submitted. The intended date of travel is Aug 2nd, dis Sunday, I hv booked a hotel as well. Now, I can see dat dis Sunday won't be feasible, it's 3 days away and I hvnt even gotten my visa. The hotel's policy is 48hours to be given for cancellation, and if cancelled later the whole fee will be charged. Pls shud I call the hotel to change the dates or what? I don't want to lose money jus like that.

If I change dates and the ECO is yet to confirm from the hotel mgt, what will happen if the ECO is told I pushed my dates ahead?

Has anyone been in my shoes? I need an urgent response pls, am about to call the hotel

Pls i need your advice. I applied for a visa as a family visitor and stated my aunt was going to accomodate me and i was going to be responsibe for my ticket and the rest. I showed my monthly salary and bank statement and stated in the additional section that apart from my salary, i also receive commissions. however i was refused the visa on grounds that they are not sure i have enough funds to sponsor my trip. I was told i don;t have a right to appeal or for administrative review; What do you advise i do as there was enough money in my account to cover the trip
