omabetter: You will make this decision yourself. However, based on the limited information you provided, you have no experience in any of the two. You should assess in an occupation you have experience to increase your points. ICT support Officer is different from ICT support engineer. |

Quanesha: What is the confusion about? The information provided on the thread is straightforward and easy to understand. Take your time to read step by step. Although, some information are outdated, it will be updated soon. . Can someone help me I am a Human Resource Manager.. You can either apply for 190 or 491 depending on the states nominating the occupation. You should check assessment requirements first. You really have to be a manager to get positive assessment and not just an HR officer. What visa am i eligible for? Has someone in this same line of work started the process how Did you go about it?? Answered above. . .
You should check the school website or travel to Ago-Iwoye. |

For all students studying in Victoria State, as from today, you are no longer allowed to drive on your international licence beyond 6 months. If you have lived in Victoria for up to 6 months, you are expected to convert your licence to a Victoria's State driver's licence. If you will continue to drive with your licence, when caught you will be treated as driving unlicensed. Take note. 3 Likes |

@Computergeek, My immediate concern is your family's attitude to the traumatic experience your child had. In your statement, you wrote that you told the boy to forget about the experience. It may not be to you but that is dismissing his experience and downplaying the serious effects of the event. You and your husband will need to do an in-depth search about the workings of the brain. My advice is that you get help for your son to adequately and professionally process the experience. If not dealt with appropriately now, it may start haunting him in form of flashbacks down the lane. Your talk is not enough. He needs a professional help to process the event. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Since it is IT related occupation, I will suggest you go the RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) route. You should read more information on ACS website. Yes, you can ask your employer to give you your payslip as evidence of salary paid. Tax certificate can serve as the third party evidence. |

Raymum: No state will give you PR before graduation because they expect you to complete your studies in their state. However, if you want to use your Nigeria experience and qualification, you have to do your study in the state nominating that occupation because states don't sponsor onshore applicants not resident in their state. 1 Like |

@Raymum, What are you studying? WA also sponsors people who study in the state. Depending on what you are currently studying, there may not be any point running to another state when you can get what you seek where you are. I am in Perth too. |

ashaju33: I do know that hundreds of Nigerians have been assessed by EA which means the assessor may likely know what the NYSC year is. If you have any concrete evidence or reason why you are exempted, you can say it. |
Travel / Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 9:45am On Oct 02, 2019 |
ashaju33: The NYSC experience is relevant but doesn't mean you are paid at the appropriate professional level. It is either you pay the tax incurred for the one year at your state's internal revenue or remove the experience. If the assessor will accept that your tax was deducted from source prior to being paid, you can give that excuse. I can't think of any other way around it. |

@Ajayidebo, I hope you have not paid for the assessment? Prior to assessment, it is not enough to check the occupation list, you also have to check if the occupation is sponsored by any state if it is not on 189 list. I don't think there is any state sponsoring insurance agent. Doing the assessment without a sponsoring state will likely be an exercise in futility. What is your own occupation? |

Nenyeroz1: I didn't put a caveat that getting a minimum of 8 in each band is critical to getting nomination and invitation. You need to retake the English test. |
Travel / Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 1:07am On Oct 01, 2019 |
@Theokleia, What is the occupation your husband intends to nominate? I am not sure if there is any occupation for a petroleum cargo inspector on the list. The other alternative is to nominate environmental engineering if it is related to what he does. Going by your information, you will likely be the principal applicant. You don't need experience for a positive assessment as an engineer. You can write the CDR from your undergraduate thesis and industrial attachment. |

@nenyeroz1 What does your husband do in the rescue and disaster management? Based on the information you provided, you are in the better position as the principal applicant. The body assessing Teachers are not keen on paid experience for positive assessment, only that you will not get any points for experience if you cannot proof that you were paid. As long as there is teaching practice in your curriculum, you should get a positive assessment without experience points. Notwithstanding, you should still be able to get minimum of 65 points and more for the visa 491. Go to the assessing authority's website for further information. 2 Likes |
