Good day everyone. Is it advisable for a 28yr old Teacher with only NCE to apply for a Bsc ? Or will it be better to apply for a postgraduate diploma?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Belxsz: 6:50pm On Jan 06, 2023
What If its the same school but a different program. Will you be turned back?
mrprolifik:
.
What you need to do is get an updated Letter of acceptance from your school showing that you would be starting by September 2023. After getting the updated letter of acceptance all you have to do is inform IRCC by sending them your updated letter of acceptance via webform. When you later travel for September resumption , you won't have any problem at the port of entry as long as it's the same program and same school (DLI) as that in the first letter of acceptance.

Hi, I deferred my admission to May as well but I'll be coming in December. I've been worried if that won't be an issue. Have you been able to get any answers regarding this?

Apologies for the lengthy post.

Timeline:
1st time applicant.
Application submitted: April 4th
Biometrics: May 25th
Upfront Medicals: March 16th
Medical passed: April 21st
Eligibility: June 30th
BVL: September 9th, 22nd (got 3 bvls before ppr came)
PPR: September 22nd

Documents submitted
SOP 3pages
International passport (scanned copy)
Letter of acceptance
Police report
Nysc certificate
University Transcript
Waec result

My Salary account SOA
Study leave and letter of introduction from my office
receipt for first semester payment
Sworn affidavit of sponsorship
Letter of sponsorship
Sponsors Retirement letter showing benefits etc
Sponsors 6-month SOA (Did not know about MBS until after I submitted and joined nairaland)
Landed document of sponsor
Birth certificate of Sponsor and my siblings

If you see my timeline, it took me 7weeks and 2 days to give my biometrics. Something people do in 2 days. I got the BIL on April 4th same day I submitted my application. Trying to schedule the appointment became an issue, I was not getting otp to proceed. When I finally did, I don’t know how come o but I had booked for 2 applicants so I was turned back at vfs Lagos since I could not produce the second person.

I sha went back and tried to reschedule but I could not get a date within the 30days. The earliest I got was on the 31st day. I asked someone and he said because there were a few public holidays within that time, vfs will answer me but of course they didn’t.

Then I checked NL and decided to send webforms and emails but I was only getting automated responses. I was searching for anyone with the same expired BIL experience as me to enquire how they solved their issue and I found nothing. I asked for advice on NL and nobody could really help. Most people advised me to withdraw my application and submit a new one which made sense. I finally decided to do that, but I was going to give it one more week.

Then I stumbled upon someone’s post that had an unrelated issue, but he said he emailed Abuja office on Monday 8am and he got a response. That’s how I decided to try that, so I scheduled my email to Abuja for 8am on Monday telling them about my expired BIL. And surprisingly I got a response on Wednesday from Abuja that my new BIL has been approved which was then emailed to me by Thursday of the same week. Just putting this out there in case there’s anyone having the same or similar issue. Cos I met someone the day I was finally successful that had a similar issue, and I told her to do the same. She did and she got a quick response too. And when she was refused for not submitting her LOA, she sent mails to Abuja with proof etc her application was reconsidered and she is now in Canada.

The rest of the story is just the normal tiring wait for ppr; sending emails to mp’s with no response, disturbing IRCC with webforms etc. Although, at some point I was worried cos I had discrepancies in the certificates submitted. Like all my documents have my middle name except my passport and birth certificate. Also, the DOB on my transcript and Waec is wrong and I didn’t submit any affidavit to back it up or give any explanation. Luckily it did not hurt my application.

I am thankful to all those that have been contributing and answering questions on here. And I pray that those waiting will get a favorable response soonest.

Please, for those who have flown Egypt Air recently, how did you guys pay for your ticket?

Hello!! Please is there anyone that has successfully booked Ethiopian Air tickets recently.

I picked my airline and it indicated 2-stops. However, after reserving my seat and wanting to pay, it's showing 4 stops.

When I check the flight details , the stops listed are ADD and DUB. But it keeps showing 4 stops and I don't want to make a mistake. Did anyone have this experience?

1) like I said, it's how you feel and your suspicions. It doesn't make it true

2)People may not want to type long stories or may be chilling until they get their passport it doesn't mean its fake or they aren't proud

3) Saying someone's post is fake won't stop people posting fake pprs. Is it not better to ignore or use tact to ask some questions that will unravel the fakeness?

4) Again, it's unfair to accuse people of things with no proof. That should be left to Nigerian police

5) Maybe you guys have good intentions, but its no longer coming across as such. And your "good intention " is making this place toxic

Wealthh:

If your ppr is genuine,I see no reason why u won’t have the gut to upload it with pride..even with the way your profile will speaks, nobody can criticise you....I’m stating from the obvious... that particular profile is fake..someone posted ppr yesterday and i never attacked him/her ..I have no issues with all these agents Bcs I also used one for my application but why been so desperate to post fake pprs

So you want to say that this is the first time on nairaland or this thread in particular that people repost a message twice ? In quick succession? Not like one today, one tomorrow?

That you think something looks suspicious and is fake doesn't mean it is. Those are your thought which you are entitled too. Not facts.

People have been praising agents since I joined this thread in part 18 it's nor a new thing. If the owners of the thread want to change the rules, that's fine. But you can't make people stop praising their agents. Simple.

If I had an agent on this platform I will praise him and nothing will happen

Ocool:

This is pure nonsense. You posted the same thing two times. You look fake. I suggest anybody that praise any agent here should be banned henceforth.

If they need to praise their agents, they should do that privately.

The agents too should be warned to warn their clients not to come here to praise them. The penalty should be that any agent that is praised here by any client should also be banned.

What they are doing here is senseless no matter the excuse anybody wants to give to defend this.

This is getting weird now. Genuine people will no longer post their ppr's just to avoid being tagged fake. I mean the silent ones.

I'm not saying fake ppr is not possible, but you cant go around throwing accusations at people with no proof whatsoever. People you don't know from anywhere??

At least this last screenshot has a name, so all the fake ppr spotters should find the previous post so we can rest.

Do you mean your application was refused because they didn't get your medicals?

Tessyugbajah:
After my canada refuses. IRCC claming they didn't receive my medical examination result and IOM said they sent it. I'm just confused and don't feel like reapply again. Because the way I was treated was bad after all the money I spent.

Hi I can't speak for ircc, but the DOB on my waec certificate and even my degree transcript was wrong and I just got ppr. Maybe that's what made my application take so long sef. I think you should use the affidavit with faith cos Me I didn't even use that and I got an answer

Send Ircc a mail explaining the situation and also sens proof. I know someone who was refused because they didn't get her acceptance letter. She sent the letter to ircc through webforms and emails to Abuja and Nairobi. Her application was reconsidered and she's in Canada now. You can try that.

Try to email Abuja on a Monday or Tuesday morning and you'll get a response in less than 2 days.

Hello everyone. I am in a situation and I' need advise please.
I submitted my application on the 4th of April. Got my biometrics request on the 5th, I tried for about a week to book my appointment but for some reason I wasn't getting otp to proceed and the page kept refreshing.

I was finally able to book for the 22nd of April. When I got to the vfs office I was told that I booked for 2 applicants and they can't attend to me until the second person shows up(this was in error btw). I was advised to cancel and reschedule after 24hrs which I did.

But I couldn't get a date within the 30days given before my bil expires. The vfs officer told me they can only take my biometrics after getting approval from ircc. They collected my details.

Problem is , I haven't heard anything back, on my end I've raised a webform,Sent mails to vfs to ask for progress and nothing yet. At this point I'm considering withdrawing my application and reapplying. I'm feeling frustrated cos I've wasted about 6weeks on this now.

Please guys, do you think I should wait for a response or go ahead to reapply? Its been 10 days since I raised the webform.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Belxsz: 9:38pm On May 09, 2022
Congratulations
Ebonieblack:
long post alert!!!!!!

This is my second application.
I submitted the first application on May 15, 2021 using an RCIC consultant
upfront medicals May 19,2021
biometrics May 25th, 2021
got a refusal on the 9th of September 2021 after I had resumed school online. my heart sank and i managed to finish the semester full of anxiety. The goodnews was that the consultant reapplied for me free of charge and even paid for the visa fee, I count this a miracle.
The reasons were purpose of visit and financial/assets.
I have a background in civil Engineering but was moving to computing and Information systems Technology.
I also got an Applyboard scholarship for women in STEM 2021 of 15k which I couldn't include at the time because the day the documentation was sent to me, was the day I got the refusal.
I however continued my studies and ordered my GCMS the same day thinking it will arrive in time(i got it in December 2021) so I could reapply and get decision before the beginning of the winter semester 2022.

To my utmost disappointment, i waited till the 23rd of October and decided to address the concerns the best way i knew with the information i gathered here. i had an unexplained lump sum in the other application and my SOP wasn't well written. so i worked on my SOP again , included the scholarship, an affidavit of support from my husband who is also my co-sponsor and paid an extra 10kCAD into my student account. at the end of the semester i sent my transcript via webform and the waiting began...

i registered for winter semester hoping that i will get a response before then or even defer my admission if it didn't come. when the semester was to begin BC went back in person and i couldn't continue studying so i requested for a deferral but was shocked to hear that i couldn't defer as a continuing student and i am not allowed a study leave grin . At that point i lost hope because i was advised to withdraw from all my courses since i wasn't on ground (i had missed the deadline for dropping courses and getting a 100% refund) and i got only 50% of the tuition i paid back. The winter semester began and ended and i hadn't gotten a decision yet.

I cried, fasted and prayed then got to a place i did nothing. i sent mailssssssssssssss and webforms which got no response at all. contacted MP s, Sean Fraser and everyone i could but nothing happened. i then decided to go back to my normal life and let God do His thing. and today i got the news...... (my school resumed today and i withdrew from all my courses last night so as not to risk my 50% tuition again)

God who did it for me will do it for everyone in line for this goodnews. especially people that applied since October

Documents submitted
university degree certificate
WAEC and NECO results including scratch card details
passport photo page
resume
consent form
Student account summary by term ( paid for the semester in full and had an extra 10k)
husband's employment letter
my employment letter
my statement of account
husband's statement of account
change of name
marriage certificate
Police character certificate
upfront medical sheet

....these are the once i remember as i had given the consultant all the documents at a go and it was a year ago
