Appeal takes ages, 6months at least in most cases, reapplying is far better

Dear Justwise

This is a tough call.

We spent so much on our application and going to apply again? Hmmm

Anyway, now that we appealed and we are not sure of when they will respond, can we go ahead and apply for a visiting Visa as have been doing before now?

The one we are appealing is settlement Visa. My daughter and I have been visiting before we made our application for settlement because my husband got his ILR. We had thought that we wont have any issues applying to join him but unfortunately we were denied. We really would like to visit him that is why i need your advise on what to do next since we dont have the finance for now to reapply for settlement

Will the on going appeal affect our application for visit?

You need to send your degree certificate, transcript and letter from your university to Naric UK to be evaluated, it will cost you about £152 including posting and it takes about a week. They will send you two letters of evaluation addressed to UKBA then add that to your documents to be sent to Sheffield.

Just open an account with them online then upload those documents and make the payment

My husband who is resident in the UK has done that and they have replied. The response was positive in our favour. The degree is confirmed equivalent to UK degree. With NARIC's response, we filed an appeal but up till now, we have not heard from them. Its been over a month now. We did the initial application that was refused ourselves but we are using a lawyer to file the appeal. Our last discussion with him last week was that he has not heard from them.

What could be the problem and does it take this long for them to respond to an appeal?

Do you know the reason why she was refused?

Hello Justwise.

I am the person in question. The reason given was that they can not prove that my degree was taught and researched in English.
