Anegbettedude:
There’s no denying it, from the moment we get up to the moment we go to bed, we’re all glued to our smartphones. A new work emails. A new Facebook notification. There’s always another reason to pick up our phones because they do so much. You probably know the basics your smartphone can handle, but there are still some things your smartphone can do that might surprise you. Amaze and delight your friends — and yourself — when you handle these tasks with your trusty smartphone.
Diagnose a leaky window Whether you’re dealing with harsh winters in the Northeast or blazing summers in the South, poorly sealed windows and doors mean your home is never just the right temperature. Finding leaky windows doesn’t just make a home more comfortable; it saves money on electric bills Turn your phone into a thermal imaging camera with the Flir One add-on. This rectangular camera, weighing in at 2.8 ounces and measuring 2.8” x 1” x 0.7”, plugs in to your phone’s charging port. It adds a little bulk to your phone, but not much, and its easy plug in when you need it. You may need to remove your phone from its case to use it. Flir One works for Android (any phone with a micro-USB connector) devices. Point your phone at an area, and watch it translate thermal energy into color images. Use it to scan the whole house to see where it’s hot when it should be cool or cool where it should be hot. Flir One can even tell you where pipes need better insulation or help locate overloaded circuits.
Measure your heart health While fitness gadgets like Fitbit Charge can give you data about your pulse, you won’t get much detail. Don’t take a trip to the doctor to get a detailed look at your heart health — there’s a smartphone app (and device) for that. AliveCor’s Kardia mobile heart monitor is smaller than a credit card and takes just 30 seconds to capture your EKG and tell you if your heart rhythm is normal. Press your fingers to the touchpads, and the Kardia app will give you a snapshot of your current heart activity. The app also takes voice memos for symptom tracking and securely shares health data with your doctor. It can be a good way to keep a close eye on your heart health if you are concerned about heart health.
Figure out why your check engine light is on It doesn’t matter how old or new your car is — you’re going to run into car trouble eventually. And when that mysterious Check Engine light on your dashboard comes on, you want to know what’s up without having to take it to a mechanic. Automatic Pro plugs into your car’s ODB-II port (usually located under the steering wheel) to turn your car into a connected car that talks to your smartphone. It works with most cars manufactured after 1996 and on Android smartphones (Android 5.0 or higher). Automatic communicates via 3G (connectivity is free for five years with purchase). When it’s not diagnosing mechanical issues, it can update you with status reports and let you know where your car is in the parking lot, even when you’re out of Bluetooth range. If Automatic detects your car has been in an accident, the company will contact you and call emergency services if necessary. The app connects to a wide range of other apps to handle things like tracking work-related driving expenses and turning the A/C on at the house when you’re nearly home.
Remind you to drink enough water Most of us know we’re supposed to drink plenty of water, but how often do we spend our days drinking coffee and pet drinks instead? Many apps and fitness trackers can help you track how much water you’re drinking, but they rely on making you enter how much water you’ve had. The Hidrate Spark is different. It’s a smart water bottle that tracks exactly how much you’ve had to drink today. Pair it with an app on Android devices to give you an in-depth look at your water drinking habits. Met your drinking goal for the day? The bottle lights up to let you know!
Do some math (without a calculator) Sure, your phone already has a calculator built in, but it requires that you type out the equations. That’s fine if you’re figuring out a tip or doing other simple calculations, but what about when you need to key in an algebra problem? Or what if you’re struggling to understand an equation on your homework that makes no sense to you at all? Photomath lets you take a picture of any math problem and get an immediate answer. It walks you through the steps to get to that answer, as well, making it a good learning tool. Photomath supports arithmetics, integers, fractions, decimal numbers, roots, algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities, quadratic equations and inequalities, absolute equations and inequalities, systems of equations, logarithms, trigonometry, exponential and logarithmic functions, derivatives and integrals. Catch fish Normally, a family camping trip is reason to leave the smartphone behind so you can better enjoy the great outdoors. But let’s face it, this is 2016. Modern technology can make everything better — even your time away from it on the lake. Check out the iBobber. This small, spherical device works as a fish-finding sonar in both salt and fresh water, helping you locate fish up to 135 feet under the surface. Attach it to a fishing line and cast it where you want to fish; it turns on automatically upon hitting the water. This fish finder works with most newer iOS and Android devices; If you don’t have a waterproof phone, this fishing trip is the perfect time to invest in a waterproof case. You can get a waterproof pouch like the Moko Cellophone Drybag.

Tarivanessa:
There’s a big push to pay attention to how much “screen time” kids have these days, with electronic tablets now becoming more commonplace in schools as well as at home. Part of that effort should also be focused on the impact this has on their hearing.
While there are many different causes of noise-induced hearing loss, the pervasiveness of portable listening devices can’t be ignored. In fact, a 2010 study in the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that 1 in 5 teenagers have experienced some degree of hearing loss. Ear buds are placed directly in the ear and can increase the sound signal by as much as 6 to 9 decibels. At maximum volume, this places music from personal audio devices somewhere between the noise created from power tools and that of loudspeakers at a rock concert. Here are some tips for safe listening from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA):
• Keep it down: We’ll start with the obvious and point out that a good guideline to follow is keeping the dial to about half volume.
• Take breaks: Like any part of your body, your ears can get tired, and any damage from noise is made worse with longer exposure. Think of the 60-60 rule: 60 percent volume for 60 minutes. This also helps with that pesky “screen time” issue.
• Be an example: If children see you blaring your tunes, it’ll be tougher for them to want to keep the volume down. It’s also important for parents to have their child see an audiologist to establish a baseline hearing level. The audiologist can then recommend a hearing-loss prevention program suited for that child’s individual needs.
We know that parents are concerned about this, too, but that hasn’t always translated into action. In a recent AHSA national poll, 75 percent of parents said that teaching the proper use of ear buds and headphones is important, but that only 50 percent have brought up the topic with their children. It’s never the wrong time to start the discussion.

Ayebaeapretai: What Are Megapixels?
On every digital camera sensor, there are tiny little “photosites”. Each of these is a sensor for a single pixel. When light hits a photosite, it determines what color that pixel should be in the resulting photo. Obviously you need lots of photosites to get a high resolution image; one million photosites will give you one million pixels—or one megapixel—in the final image. This means a 20MP photo was taken with a camera that had a sensor with twenty million photosites.
Megapixels and Sensor Size
The sensors in digital cameras come in different sizes. The sensor inside your smartphone is smaller than the sensor inside a crop sensor camera and the sensor inside a crop sensor camera is smaller again than the sensor inside a full-frame DSLR.
All three of these cameras, however, can have a 12MP sensor. What changes is the size of the photosites on the sensor. On a smartphone camera, they’re tiny, while on a full-frame camera, they’ll be much much larger. This affects the overall image quality.
The size of the photosites is very important for image quality and low light performance. While the technology has come a long way over the last few years, and it’s now possible to cram more photosites than ever onto a sensor
The more megapixels a sensor has, the bigger the image it can create. This is really useful for fashion and studio photographers who want every single detail, such as the subject’s eyelashes, as clearly as they can capture.
Higher resolution sensors also make it possible to print larger photos, although that isn’t as big a deal as it used to be.Right now, any modern camera has enough megapixels for almost anything you could want to do. It’s no longer the differentiator it once was and, once you get passed a certain point, other factors start to become more important .

XFrozen: Infinix S3 Infinity Device
Infinix S3 was unveiled a couple of weeks back and we’ve unboxed it since. Although most of what was expected was already seen in leaks and rumors, the device still leaves a good first impression as Infinix Mobility follows the familiar slick design of its S2 predecessor but they did marvel us with some new features, design and specifications.
Ininix S3 looks like the S2 , but there are still a few changes here and there. There has been a tiny bump in design (especially in the camera, performance and audio ) and it’s all summarized below:
Display: 5’7-inch HD RAM: 3GB RAM Internal Storage: 32GB ROM (expandable with microSD of up to 128GB) Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 OS: Android 8 .0 Oreo + XOS 3.0 UI Camera: (Front), 20-mp (Rear) 13mp SIM: Dual (Hybrid) Battery: 4000mAh 4G LTE + VoLTE Support: Yes
Along with the smartphone, these are other devices in the box:
1 ejector pin 1 USB cable 1 power adapter 1 User guide 1 pair of earphones 1 protective film 1 Jelly Cover
Form factor, display and first impressions
Taking the phone out of the box, the first thing that draws your attention is the Dual flash light camera setup on the left side of the speaker.
Apart from the regular lock features on a standard smartphone; patterns, passwords and PIN codes, the Infinix S3 also has fingerprint scanner and face Unlock. Face identification has not always been a thing with Infinix phones, and it works well for a first time feature.
The face Unlock also gives an option of turning flashlight on to unlock in darkness
When the battery on the Infinix S3 goes below 5%, flashlight does not come on. This means only finger print can work when battery is below 5% .
Sound
Music and general media audio The speaker grilles on the bottom part of the Infinix S3 are its auditory output.
Storage and Performance
A combination of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 and 3GB of RAM ensures smoother operations. From this assigned 3GB, system apps have used up more than 1GB so there is only 1.5GB or thereabouts left to performance, but still, the S3 rarely froze.
Battery
Battery on the Infinix S3 is 4,000 mAh and juiced up by quick charge technology. This number is a big 1,000 mAh jump from the S2 and S2 Pro.
