This is my Testimony…It can only be God

Timeline (6 months post AOR)
CIC Account created – 20th March 2018
IELTS 5 attempt: LRWS – 8.0,7,7.5,8.5
ECA: WES -BSC and Masters
Score: 464
ITA: 5th September 2018
AOR: 15th October 2018
Biometrics: 14 November 2019
MEP: 9 January 2019
PPR: 10 April 2019
COPR: 25 April 2019
Landed in Canada: 11 June 2019
First Job- 12th August 2019
VO: Ottawa
Single Applicant.

I began to take the Canada hustle serious when senior colleague I really admire immigrated to Australia and Canada.

So, I had to do IELTS and WES simultaneously, registered for WES and I paid the prescribed fee which was to cover both my B.Sc from LASU and Masters from Unilag - I discovered the difference in fee between doing just B,Sc evaluation and both B.Sc and Masters is considerably low- I needed to establish contact in both schools to make the process easy, WES took about 3 months and finally concluded on 30 October, 2017. IELTS ridiculed me for my ignorance and lack of time as a banking professional, I think I wrote this exam about five 5 times, 2 of the times I missed the speaking test and finally here was my LRWS (8, 7, 7.5,8.5), armed with both WES and IELTS I applied and got my ITA on 5th September 2018

Am a bit meticulous, so I had gathered my initial documents even before acing my IELTS, documents gathering was straight forward as I was a single applicant even though I was in a serious relationship to the woman I eventually got married to.

So perhaps the most challenging after POF was my medical as I have a history of TB 13 years ago, after further checks and extra medicals I was cleared in January, 2019, medical cost about #100,000 for me, other process was going by the side, did my biometric in record time.

The Golden mail dropped around 11:30pm on April 10, 2019, I screamed 7 halleluyah and give God the glory, the first thing the next day was to go submit the passport at VFS and I received my COPR within 20days.

I booked my flight through Ethiopian airline, I almost confused Ottawa (YOW) for Toronto (YYZ), thank God for this will have been a major mistake. My flight experience was sweet, I had good in-flight entertainment and overall experience.

So, I arrived in Canada on June 11, 2019 and was welcomed to Canada with little haste, I only brought USD4,000 into Canada and spent USD1,000.00 before getting my first Job to the Glory of God and support of my friend became brother.

I started applying for jobs from Nigeria and I did my first interview on telephone though when I reached Canada the Job was gone but through friend referral, I did Job test same week I arrived in Canada- I had to choose between two(2) offers, yea, LinkedIn helped in Job search and so is personal referral (Personal referral is actually the best and can be established using LinkedIn).

Today is April 18th and I have already spent 10months of great experience in Canada...I needed to share this because I promised God to give this testimony on this platform

To God be the Glory now and always.
Got my PPR in approximately 6months(5days before estimated completion date).

IELTS messed me up like 3 times all because of listening, finally I had 8.0 averagely using MOD(September 2018) and had a score of 468 with my masters.

While attempting IELTS my ECA was already completed by WES.

AOR - October 15
Medical/BIM- November 14
PPR- April 12

Single applicant
VO- Ottawa

Hello nairalanders,
I decided to emigrate January 2018 and since then I have been a silent voracious reader of all Canada immigration threads. I'm not exaggerating when I say I probably would not have PPR today without the valuable information obtained here. Now that  the journey is at its end, I feel the need to share my story. Perhaps it would help someone out there. My application is a bit peculiar because my wife got pregnant with our second child sometime in May 2018, so we applied as a family of three with the hope that we would be in Canada by the time the baby is born. As God would have it, progress was slow, baby was born and PPR came a few days later. Instead of sending our passports, we notified IRCC of the change in family composition, provided POF for a family of four and other documents and a second PPR was issued. See timeline below:

WES completed - 03 Sep 2018
IELTS - 04 Sep 2018 (upon EOR of 3rd attempt)
ITA - 05 Sep 2018

Nice and thanks...Please what was the province you indicated?
AOR - 11 Oct 2018
Biometrics request - 08 Nov 2018
Biometrics completed 13 Nov 2018
First PPR - 28 Jan 2019
CSE to CIC & OVO - 29 Jan 2019
Request Letter - 31 Jan 2019
Submission of ADR to include new born - 15 Feb 2019
Second PPR - 19 Feb 2019

The lesson here is to not loose hope. Things did not move along as smoothly as described in the timeline especially with the WES and IELTS but that's a story for another day. Commit it to God, do your research, perservere and you'll be fine.

Am I the only one here that finds it really hard to take pictures? Even when my classmates or siblings are taking pics,I just find a way to excuse myself or I appear in like 2 out of 50 pics they take. Is this common with other introverts or am I just weird?

share your pic lets see.

btw- U may need to work on your self confidence !

@ sheltec & daks: God bless u guys for this. I have been advocating that we can successfully organise and hold tutorials for our IELTS takers. This could be a wkend or two wkends prior to the tests. A public or private school can easily be approached at centre of towns such as Ikeja or Oshodi for Lagos residents and so on.
Plssss my belove people who've disgraced IELTS with ur intimidating & eye catching scores, it's time to rise to this occasion and support a fellow in need.

Thumbs up..let's do this.

I've been dreaming of ITA since January of this year and finally it is here!

I can't thank God enough for giving me the grace to study French and pass the TEF exam which elevated my CRS from 415 to 457 cool (was initially thinking cut-off scores will drop to last year's levels undecided...thank God I received sense fast)

To all those still expecting...keep the faith...it will surely come...and then the real work will start

I wonder how PPR mail will feel
U actually started french afresh? Or u have d skill before now.. Pls share as i was thinking the frenxh adv only works for those with the background.

I owe you immense debt of gratitude for finding time to honour me with a response. God bless you.

One more enquiry pls.

I have accessed the 25% of my RSA which is usually the case after exiting a job without a new one four months after. However I still have well over N4Million balance in my RSA (the statutory savings/deductions while on the job not voluntary savings). Can this in any way contribute to my POF?

Many thanks.

Give it a shot, someone once told me he used 100% value of his pension.

Please there seems to be huge backlog with medical bookings in the approved hospitals. On contacting (2 out 3 recommended) was told the whole month is filled and will have to wait till mid October.

Any way around this hiccup please?
