Romance / Re: How Can I Survive A Heartbreak? by bet9ja(m): 9:50am On Dec 05, 2020
This is what works best. I have tested this before and it really helped.

Get a pen and paper and write down the list of good things she has done and while you should marry her.

Write another list of her bad characters that would not make you marry her.

Focus on the reasons you should not marry her every time you think about her.

Train your mind to focus on her bad characters and why you should not be with her.

There you go..... You have your solution.

Politics / Re: Dear Buhari, It Is Time To Review The Food Importation Policy by bet9ja(m): 7:57pm On Nov 01, 2020
Igbochief001:

Well truthful we need to review our import policy but I need to understand the reason why agriculture failed

Agriculture failed because we lack the right seeds .... farming has gone past the level we do it now

For agriculture to succeed we need to fund research on seed development

My ideas is simple
1) allow import of food ...tax it by 50% to 150% depending on the food .

2) used have to subsidize our local farmers ...no new farmer sha be added to the list ......use the rest half to find research

3) subsidize this seeds for the first 5 years ...if we can get same yeild as the countries we import from ...we time import dies

You failed to address the problem of insecurity which has discouraged many people from venturing into farming.

Furthermore, killing importation of food with tax is not the way forward. If the government truly mean well for this nation, the first solution is to open the border

Programming / Re: Django Or Node? by bet9ja(m): 10:47am On Aug 21, 2020
Taofeekdboy:
well, based on my experience with job search, most of this big companies at times use more than one backend language, Facebook and the likes. Angular is popular among them also because angular is a very large Javascript framework and it is pre-built with its libraries unlike React that depends on third party libraries. Angular comes with typescript which some developers fancy about. The truth of the matter is that, if you are so good with angular, other frameworks will be shit to you. But learning curve in angular is thrice React learning curve I.e, it is hard to learn.
As to what to learn as the backend, learn one bro and be good with it, it does not matter if the job is not much but it will give you the leverage when there is job openings for the language. I'm into Python(Django), Java, as the backend but not viable in Nigeria job market because of PHP but I can't leave it for PHP as it's time is also coming and foreign companies are using it as well.

I concur with you. Nowadays, many developer are routing for React, but the truth is, Angula is a fully flag frontend framework that is scallable, while react is just a Library. When you work with Angular, other frameworks will truly look like shit.

Programming / Re: Between Writing Articles On Upwork Or Owning A Blog/website by bet9ja(m): 10:20am On Aug 14, 2020
flyingpig:
Hi guys,

I don't know if this is the right section to post this enquiry. But I beckon on the relevant moderator to shift my thread to the appropriate section where it will receive adequate audience.

I have been thinking about joining Upwork and creating a PayPal account for it. Learning how to operate the website, buy connects, write proposals, win writing gigs, earn through my PayPal account and channel it into my bank account..

On the other hand, side-thoughts of being my own Boss and not being answerable to anyone drives me into wanting to create a website blog for diverse news. I have written a lot of website contents for about two years now and I must say i don't enjoy the experience of working under someone. I love to be confident of myself and control my own world and not have anyone dictate things to me because I think I'm a very visionary person.

But why I am discouraged about the website or blog creating, is that tons of websites and blogs are in Nigeria already and when i check dozens of them out, they barely have comments, views or traffic. It seems guests are used to popular websites like lindaikeji blog and nairaland.com so I'm discouraged about wasting time and resources on something that won't be fruitful like dozens of them out there.

Are websites/blogs profiting? Will it generate income for me or go down the drain like all those I find? Or i should just channel my energy into writing articles on upwork and earn money, at least i'm guaranteed my accepted articles will be paid for.

Please assist me with words of advice. Is website/blog creating really worth it? A lot out there are really discouraging. How much can they really earn in the first few months?? I'd like to know.

Thank you very much

I will advise you to focus on both. You may need to identify the reason many people failed with blogging. I am not a writer but i once had a website that generates N30, 000 every 5 months through google Adsense.

Here is what you can try: Create a website that sell contents for all your Gigs , integrate blog section and write more articles about your services.

I am open for a partnership if that is OK with you.

I am also looking for someone to write me articles monthly ( 5000 words ) for my new company: www.bakify.co.za

Deicide:
It's not the same web development does not always involve coding meanwhile programming does. It could be developing graphic for the site or even design the site using Adobe suite which does not involve coding.

Don't mix the two. Web development is different from Web design. In a professional settings, The company will provide a CI guild that the designer will follow to come up with the web design, then later submit the website graphics files to the developer for approval, after that, it will be sent to the client for approval/sign-off before it goes into development.

I understand that majority of developers on here may not understand this process. But when you hear that a developer working outside Nigeria is getting paid higher compare to what a Nigerian developer earns, you might wonder if it is not the same website they are all building, but the truth is that, there is a different in the process and clients expectations.

What kind of laptop and phone do u recommend I shud use that will take me thru smoothly in my journey in de tech world...

I will recommend you go for the HP Core series or any brand with minimum of 4GB Ram. You can also upgrade your RAM to 8G. Battery life is also important due to the Nigeria electricity situation.

Personally, I prefer a desktop any-day any-time.

Thank u so much..
Buh pls what language shud i focus on for fullstack

To be a full Stack engineer requires continuous learning. Full Stack doesn't mean that you know all the programming languages, however, you may easily work on any project based on vast knowledge using various techniques and technologies from your previous working experience or projects.

If you focus on C# and master all the Microsoft technologies, this will make you a .Net developer. likewise Python, Javascript and other languages will make you a Developer of there brand.

Full Stack means you can work on any project written in any language.

Full Stack does not translate to Big Salary.

I hope this help.

You can't go to school and study Programming as a course.. No

Programming is a term used to describe the processes of writing code for the computer, either for web development, app development, web design or other things..

You can study computer science which comprises of veering about computer..
Ranging from how the computer works to how to write the code that makes it work(programming)

To buttress your post, Computer Science also involves the ergonomics design. How we seat infront of a computer either you are a programmer or not. It's kinda broad
