No,you dont need to cook or refrigerate GERBER yogurt. Store at room temp and you are good to go. You dhould however refrigerate any leftover once opened.

Alright, thanks so much, We will definitely go back to the hospital. Hope you are better now.

Still on treatment though but I am getting better. Feeding from just one breast is not easy ooo. So the earlier you tackle the issue the better for madam.

Good morning to wonderful mamas, am always posting on behalf of my wife. She put to bed about a month ago. After a week of delivery, she noticed a hard lump in the upper part of one of the breast, we have been to hospital, we were told that it's probably a blocked duct, mastitis is ruled out, we were just given diclofenac and told to make sure that baby latch on properly... Still the lump remains there.... Has anyone experience this? What else can one do for the lump to go?

Sir, I am presently going through this. I had same issue and went to the hospital. Doctor said it's engorgement and prescribed lofnac and some other antibiotics for me. I took the drugs religiously. After I finished the drugs, I noticed the pains were gone but the swollen part was still there even when my LO was feeding from the breast. I went back to the hospital and was told it's mastitis meanwhile pus had already formed as a result of clogged milk. Had to go for incision and draining. It was a gory sight I must confess and very painful too. I'm currently on injections and antibiotics and was told to stop feeding from the breast till it heals. I'll advise you go back to the hospital if the lump is still there to be very sure it is not mastitis.
Thanks.

Yes sis, lansinol is the brand and lanolin is the content makeup. Get pain meds safe for a nursing mom as well.
*Tips*

Expose the breast to air when not feeding.

Apply breast milk to the affected nip.ple.

Rinse with saline solution and pat dry gently.

Make sure baby is latching well to avoid further injury.

Check for thrush and or tongue tie.

Experiment with different nursing positions till you get one you and baby are comfortable with.

See your doctor if the breast becomes inflamed or have pus.

Take care.

Thank you so much.

Congratulations on your baby!
Get lanolin ni.pple cream.
Lansinol is a good popular brand.

Apply to your nipple inbetween feeding her. It is baby safe and you do not need to wash off before breastfeeding your baby.

Ensure she also latches properly as that may aggravate the pain if she is not latching well.

All the best dear.

Thank you so much. I'll get the cream. Are both of them same i.e lanolin and lansinol

Those people are right. This happened to me when I had my daughter almost two years ago and it was the same technique I used. I continued putting her to suck and the pain healed of its own.

Ahh my dear. I tried oo. I was feeding with the pain. Could not bear it at some point cos the pain was much. I always cry when breastfeeding before I opted to express while I heal. My dear it wasn't an easy something.

You can also place a towel with not so hot water
From time to time on the nipple, it will give you relief and heal after sometime
That's what worked for me

Thank you for this info. Much appreciated

Get Lansinoh nipple cream. Check reputable pharmacies or stores that stock baby items.

Thank you so much. I'll get it right away.

I am a FTM with a 12days old baby. I came across this thread while searching for a solution to my problem. I have a sore on my nipple on both breast. My LO was biting with her gum while sucking and it gave me a sore which is very painful. Everyone kept saying I should allow her keep sucking that it will heal but instead it becomes extremely painful. Had to stop breastfeeding her for a while so I can heal. I express by hand and feed with the bottle. Abeg sabi mamas how can I get the sore to heal fast. I miss breastfeeding my DD. Please make una help me for this matter.

Good morning ma. Please kindly recommend what I can use for a breast sore as a FTM. My lo is just 12days old with a very sharp gum. I have a very bad sore on both breast due to her biting while sucking. Had to stop breastfeeding cos the sore became an open wound and is extremely painful. Now I express naturally with my hand to feed her till the sore heals. I will be very grateful to get a feedback as I see you are really an active member on this forum especially on the health section. Kindly assist me as I look forward to keep breastfeeding my baby.
