Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by bibibabe(f): 11:26pm On Jul 29, 2019
@ Patra123,

First a big congratulations. I would like to know if you used the standard visa service or priority? I did my biometrics since 16th of July and used priority service but yet to hear from them. I called last week and was told decision has been made and should contact the VAC, almost 10 working days and no word from TLS.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by bibibabe(f): 6:27pm On Nov 04, 2014
Hello people,

I got an email from Visa Lagos, saying your visa has been processed and that i should wait 2 working days before going to pick up my documents at the visa application center. My question is does this mean i was issued a visa or its just a generic email they send to everyone whether given visa or refused visa. People kindly respond, its taking forever to get my passport back from Teleperformance.

Travel / Transfer Of Visa by bibibabe(f): 2:26pm On Jun 12, 2009
I got married recently and has changed from my maiden name to my married name. My old passport with my maiden name has been endorsed with my married name, however this passport expires in August and i have a 5 year UK valid visa on it.

Am already in the processing of getting a new passport with my married name and i have been told the old passport with the still valid visa will have to be cancelled. Also i am thinking of doing a transfer of visa on my new passport because of the change in my name.

Please can anyone kindly advise on how to do transfer of a valid british visa from an old passport to a new passport.

Hi all, i like this site, its really cool. Want to ask a quick question. Please i want to know if  securities -brokeage and investments firms (i.e) the sector is a great place to work. I want to relocate to Nigeria and got a job with a brokeage company in Nigeria, i was offered a senior officer position. Am not sure what level that is and if this is a good offer. Also how well do they pay in this sector? I have a UK MBA degree and ACCA. Please is this a good start, i mean is any career development prospects in this field and what level is a senior officer in this sector? Please i would appreciate if anyone could enlighten me on this. Cheers

Career / Re: Should I Return To The UK To Work? (I Have HSMP Visa) by bibibabe(f): 10:53am On Jun 27, 2006
Please i just want to know what people in the house think about my situation and what they would do if in that situation.
I did my masters in the UK and was lucky to get an HSMP visa in January 2006, but before i could get a job, something tragic happened and i had to return to Nigeria. With the situation of things then, i was hoping to get a job in Nigeria and stay with my family. However getting a job as been pretty difficult here, forget the foreign degrees, its all about who you know. Although i have received calls from some organisations about their employment processes, but don't know when they will call me for any of these and nothing is sure yet. Now i have lost 6 months on my HSMP visa from the initial 1year granted and i am thinking  of going back to the UK. What would you do if it was you, would you continue staying in Nigeria with your family and hoping to find a job or would you travel back to the UK?

Career / Re: Nigerians Studying Abroad: Would You Go Back Home To Work? by bibibabe(f): 12:05am On Jun 27, 2006
Well maybe the lady is right about only poor people not wanting to return to Nigeria and maybe not 'cos we all want different things in life.Been living in the UK for sometime now, stayed back after i completed my mba program. Just want to say that going back to Nigeria has its advantages and disadvantages, so also does staying put in abroad. In making such decisions, u have to get ur prioties right and stop blabbing about certain things like security in Nigeria, what makes? Pls GOD is the only that provides that. Also look at luck and chances, see u cld get lucky in Nigeria, u know right people, right places at the right time and then boom u r it. However if u r contented with the basic neccessities of life, then living abroad is the right choice, u know u have got job security, the basic needs of life including electricity but you know u might not become what u want to be even if you r good at what u do. U either r risk averse and keep being a second class citizen abroad or be a risk taker and see if u might be lucky enough to be a star in ur home country.Different strokes for different folks!
