Hiswordxray: Brother in Christ, I think you maybe have a misconception regarding why I'm asking you this question. I'm not questioning or doubting your salvation sir... I was just wondering if you have a specific church you fellowship at. If you don't want to answer me then you are entitled to do so and I'll respect that. There was no church at Corinth, Ephesus or Galatia but rather what you would have was a conglomeration of house churches in Corinth. So they didn't necessarily have names but you could somewhat identify them eg 1 Corinthians 16:19. PS: Thank you for teaching believers to walk in a greater measure of the fullness of Christ. God bless you. 1 Like |

Maestro21: Sir that is very serious accusation that I refuse to believe without proof. Pastor David is mentored by Bishop Oyedepo and to the best of my knowledge would never attack any set man/specific ministry. Please provide evidence in the form of a video or tell me the date he made those remarks so I can look it up. |

CodeTemplar: Amen! That is very true, no doubt... However do you not think that it is worth trying to understand the principles and even revelations that have set him on this course. I like to understand particularly spiritually things because it's the Holy Spirit behind them. Once you get what Pastor Adeboye calls "the spiritual mathematics" of an issue then you're set to walk in that very thing and this is what I want. No one would argue that the church growth experienced by both the RCCG and LFC are supernatural and yet both leaders still host church growth summits to reveal the inner workings of this supernatural power. Brother, much more than just admiring men like the Bishop; I want to emulate them. This is why I'm humbly asking and enquiring of you, HigherEd and anyone else who might have more intimate knowledge. I simply want, for the glory of God, to replicate the good I see in men like the Bishop. |

CodeTemplar: Not a problem, sir. Don't you think that less than 4 hours is far too little, even for the Bishop? My understanding is that he works the same amount everyday and so when would he ever have time to spend with his wife and the rest of his family? I would've thought that he drinks coffee or some sort of stimulant to help him stay awake but I've heard him debunk that theory. My question then is, how does he do it? What's his secret? |
Religion / Re: How Christians Can Deal With Demonic Manifestations - Kenneth Hagin by Bilyonaire: 8:37am On Apr 11, 2019 |
HigherEd: Thank you for humouring . I'm a keen admirer of the Bishop and the way he conducts himself but alas, I'm not Nigerian and so I've never had the opportunity to see him. I don't have an overwhelming desire to see him but I certainly envy people who get to learn from him firsthand. Then ofcourse, there's my fascination with some of the things he has said...I once heard him say he is 'actively engaged for 16 hours a day, everyday," and I've always wondered what exactly he means by that statement and how much sleep that might mean he gets. I don't mean to bore you with the ramblings of my mind though. I just noticed that you seemed to know quite a bit about the man and was wondering how that came to be. I know some people fall in love with the concept of the man but I'm more interested in what makes him who he is... Why is he so productive, how's he so focused, how does he spend his time, how does he balance pastoring hundreds of thousands with being a family man and running world class institutions at the same time. What a man! Once again, thank you brother. I'd still like the link to the original source of this Kenneth Hagin excerpt, if possible. 1 Like 1 Share |

HigherEd: I'd appreciate that... While you're at it, I'd still like to get some answers to questions I asked a while ago on a previous thread about Bishop Oyedepo: 1. What changed your mind about the Bishop? 2. What issues did you have with his 'brand of Pentecostalism'? 3. Why did you leave Canaanland? |

Religion / Re: This Is The Reason Why Gospel Artiste - Sinach Is So Big by Bilyonaire: 10:44am On Mar 26, 2019 |
, okay sir, no need to get emotional. You're shifting the goal posts by moving the point of disagreement being that the OP premised that Sinach's success is due to her singing in English and now adding in a different number of variables such as talent, marketing etc. The fact that you only know one of Tope Alabi's songs says more about you than the success of her as a Gospel artist. I won't even humour the ludicrous the "planets out of her league," comment with a response. I mentioned that Hillsong are from Australia because you were (not for the first time) making the ad hominem argument that I only know artists from Nigeria and America. I know plenty of Gospel artists that don't sing primarily in English but didn't see the need to mention them as that would've made for fallacious argument(something you seem to have no qualms about). Moreover, don't mistake the fact that you don't know any to mean that there aren't any successful ones out there. Like I said, I could name quite a lot right off the top of head. Nevertheless, your infantile attempts at holding together a coherent argument in the apparent hopes of proving your intellect were entertaining to see. At least you realized you were just running around circles 'repeating yourself' without really saying anything of substance. Maybe try harder next time . @Omudia11 |
Religion / Re: This Is The Reason Why Gospel Artiste - Sinach Is So Big by Bilyonaire: 3:34am On Mar 26, 2019 |
Now you're shifting the goal posts. The OP said the maim reason behind the Sinach's success is that she sings in English instead of 'limiting' herself to Igbo. The mere fact that you agree is that it isn't language choice alone shows that you've applied more reasoning than the OP. Thus, there is no need to further discuss this. Oh, and by the way, the only reason I used Nigerian and American artists was for the sake of the argument (although Hillsong is actually Australian, but I digress). Nothing to ponder on there. I know many artist who can only dream of reaching Tope Alabi's success even though you claim she is limiting herself. And finally, it is a big misconception that most of Sinach's views are from foreigners. Part of her great success is that CE (understandably) does so much to propagate her music. I've been in the comment section and know what I'm talking about. Moreover, like I've already said; Sinach herself has already attributed her great success to what she's learnt under the teaching ministry of Pastor Chris not singing in English. I prefer taking it from the horse's mouth than that of anyone else. @Omudia11 |

echepops: Well, I might not agree with him but he's at least justifying his stance with logic whereas you expected all of us to agree with your unsubstantiated claims. That's weak, I was expecting more from you. |
Religion / Re: This Is The Reason Why Gospel Artiste - Sinach Is So Big by Bilyonaire: 2:41am On Mar 26, 2019 |
I wasn't seeking to imply that Tope Alabi is comparable in terms of global fame to Hillsong... that would be ridiculous. The point I was making is that someone doesn't live or die by the language they sing in. Talent always shines through. You should go checkout Frank Edward's interview where he recalls the first time he met Don Moen... He says Don Moen told him (Edwards) that he's been following his career and is a big fan of his music. That's coming from an American. The reason why some of the indigenous Gospel songs might be failing is marketing. As anointed and talented as Jesus Culture is, they market their product well. Same goes for Sinach, her management team works very hard to promote her music. There's a reason she has so many views as you've said and it definitely isn't because of using English as most of those views are from Nigerian who don't consider English their 1st language. By the way, have you considered that there are probably more artists that use English than not and yet a Frank Edwards or Tope Alabi is still probably more popular both nationally and on a global scale. PS: I'm only looking at Gospel artists as I don't listen to secular musicians and wouldn't be able to verify any of the things you've said about them. @Omudia11 |
