Goodmorning All,I am not a frequent poster on this forum but I follow what happens here. Congrats to all the new mummies, old timers and all the successful visa approvals.
I just want to sound a note of warning to all the Chicago mothers, pls and pls do not try to go in by
That Poe at all. I know it has been said several times but this is a fresh advice. My very close friend was sent back just last week after proofing
All that was necessary,it's a very dangerous Poe.
Let's try as much as possible to avoid that place.
Just a piece of advice oooo

Hey ppl, i can finally post my experience. I travelled at 32 weeks to Florida and was tempted to move my flight to 34 weeks but hubby didnt agree.,anyway i had my gift from God on the 1st of August. For those of u ppl planning to travel late, I would strongly advise not to risk it at all cus it isnt worth d risk at all. My water broke at 35weeks 1day and dats when I had my baby. I can only thank God cus i was scared of having a premature baby who would need d assistance of NICU but that was not necessary. I will ans any question u guys have for me cus my story is a long one..(my BP was also very high at 33weeks and d medical care was just perfect)...

Congrats babe!

A very big congratulations!!God bless you and baby

quote author=Hawttattoo post=36876255]My Edd was on the 2nd of August based on scan did at 9 weeks. I don't know which kpekus nailed it (according to Nef) as I wasn't even sure of my LMC.
After 2nd August,I was scheduled for induction on the 7th but i called and cancelled it a day before 7th seriously kabashing and building up my faith that labour will come before then. As I had my other kids without inducing and on time.
I started having mild contraction on the 7th, got to the hospital on the early hours of 8th. The labour was not progressing and induction was the only option since I was already 41 weeks.
I declined epidural initially...but I had to literally begged for it when the pains became unbearable but still I wasn't given one cos my palette was low according to them
But in all.. I muscled it out as a true daughter of Zion bringing forth a 9.8lb baby boy... Phewww

My rating for HNWC will be 4.5****. Their nurses are nice and friendly. Clean rooms, nice food but poor in freebies
My baby was given only 15 diapers,1 small size wipe,8 Similac, thermometer ,pacifier
I was given rubber basin... Sit bath grin
I complained to my dr Glenn about the $1k pediatrician fee and I got a called from him yesterday that he has spoken to the CEO .... So hopefully something will be done about it. Yet to get my bills but will relate it once it's sorted

Forgive my long post...[/quote]

quote author=mummymom post=36860335]Hi every1
I am a newbie here and have learnt alot from this forum. Thanks every1 for your contribution.now it's time for me to give something back to this forum.i got last year my B1/B2 visa for vacation with my son and hubby which was utilized well. Then after coming to this forum we decided to have our baby in usa.after I got pregnant I sent my intension email to usa embassy and got the reply that I can travel. I am one of those who booked appointment with mihs b4. I prepared all my burdon of proofs and in the name of God travel to USA at 32 weeks this Sunday via american airlines. My 1st stop was Heathrow for 2 hrs.i requested wheelchair service which helped me alot to save time and energy and got priority treatment everywhere. My port of entry was jfk which was too crowded but again due to wheel chair service I passed all of them and wheeled directly to CBP officer who was a black guy.
Here is our conversation
Me: hello
CBP officer:.....give me ur passport.
Me:ok
CBP officer: purpose of your travel?
Me:to seek medical treatment for childbirth, vacation and shopping
CBP officer:so you are pregnant
Me:yes
CBP officer:how far have you gone
Me:32 weeks
CBP officer:so you are going to deliver your baby here
Me:yes
CBP officer:who is sponsoring you?
Me:My hubby.I gave him my husband company letter stating his designation and salary, his bank account statement, also told him that I declared my money above 10000$.
CBP officer : how long you are staying
Me:11wks
CBP officer : your husband will join you
Me:yes before delivery as he is a busy man so can't come for a long time.
CBP officer : how long did you stayed b4
Me:15 days
Stamped me in for 6 months and sent me to fill declaration form.no bags were checked,no secondary inspection.connected to the next flight which was after 2 n half hr of my arrival in jfk.reached phoenix, bought maternity package, now waiting for my dr appointment which is on Monday.
Good luck every1 and lots of prayers for every1.
Just 1 request to keep helping each other to achieve our dreams together and never think that u hv struggled alot to get info so other should also do the same.Every1 has their own capabilities and anyways God is always going to reward you in many other ways
With love

Hello everyone!
First of, a very BIG congratulations to all new mums. I tap into that grace of safe delivery. grin
I stumbled upon this thread 4 days ago and read thru from part 1 (and boy what a read! *whew*).
I am an expectant (first time) mum and always had that dream of giving birth in the US, but I wanted to go about it right so my embassy trip doesn't turn out to be a futile and emotionally draining effort (VISA rejection and all). And I learnt a whole lot. Thanks sooo so much for all your selfless contributions.
Unfortunately, I won't be using the US this time around cos I'm 27weeks gone already and I haven't even started the VISA application process!
Defo for my next babies.
I only wish I got to know about this thread weeks earlier sad

If you actually read this thread from part 1,you will know you still have time to put things together except of course if money is not readily available. Some airlines allow you travel at 36 week so start now.......wish you luck

Hello All,
I 've been a silent reader of this forum and I 've learnt a lot. In the Spirit of giving back, I would like to share my Houston POE success event.

I left MMA on the 2nd via United airline @34+ wks. My fit to fly was requested for which I gave them. I checked in successfully without any issue. On the airplane I had enough leg room and used the bathroom few times and that helped me to exercise my legs.

We landed safely at Houston around 5:00+am headed to the queue, we were directed to a short queue with only whites. When it's was our turn, the cpb just asked me why I want to have my third child in the US while the first two were born in Nigeria and I simply told her good health care and she stamped us in (hubby, and two kids) 6 months and we headed to custom cos we declared money and food, at agriculture only my indomie onion chicken were trashed and we left.

Had my first appointment today and it went well.
Thanks to all that gave the vital information on this

forum, God bless.

Congrats on your favored Poe story!

In the spirit of giving back, I had my baby some days ago in New York. I checked Wycoff, Queens Medical Center, kings county hospital Brooklyn, jamaica hospital, new York Hospital Queens but eventually settled with MMC (Mercy Medical Center) cos they had a straight forward pricing and honestly I got top notch satisfaction from the level of care I received.

Prenatal visits and care, tests, sonogram and delivery cost at the hospital's care center is 1100;
2 days hospital stay with sumptuous food (and a celebration dinner for the couple...LoL. let's just say I like food too much sha ) is 6000;
Epidural 1000.
Several tests and vaccines were administered during the 2 days stay and it's all inclusive in what you paid (tdap, hep B, hearing test, vit K, etc etc).
2 post partum visit for mother is also included but you pay 85 for pediatrician to see baby after discharge.

I got all my receipts and awaiting Zero balance letter.

BC and SSN is being processed by the hospital and I can start passport application afterwads.

All in all, fantastic hospital and experience.

And HONESTLY we need to start combing out new hospitals as well that will be beneficial to others too..

Congrats on your safe delivery,God bless your LO

So this is my POE testimony......30th July

I flew BA to New Jersey with a 4hour stop in London,the flight was very nice except that the crew members were too busy because it was a very full flight.So fast forward to Newark airport,I was about the 4th person on a particular queue infront of a Oyinbo CBP officer but a black officer who had closed his counter smiled at me and beckoned at me to come to him!I think he did this because he saw I am pregnant.So I smiled back,carried my kaya and went to him and the following ensued;

CBD:Hello
Me:Hi,good day
CBD:what are you here for?
Me:for child birth
CBD:childbirth?
Me:yes,childbirth
CBP:what makes you think you can come all the way here to have your baby?
Me:because I wrote the embassy to let them know my intention as I had an existing visa
CBP:did you get a response?
Me:yes I do(handed him my correspondence)
CBP:have you contacted any doctor?
Me:yes,I handed him the doctor's correspondence and appointment letter
CBP:what does your husband do?
Me:I told him
CBP:do you work?
Me:yes,I do so and so....
CBP:put in your fingers on the machine(did my finger print)
CBP:kindly follow me please, then we went in for secondary inspection where the lady just asked for return ticket and stamps me B2 without any time validity.
I spent about 7mins in all and went to agriculture as I had declared some food items.
At Agriculture;
You declared some food item so?
Yes....
Put bag on scanner,
I did and picked up bag at the other end,
Agric guy checked my passport and handed it back to me..

This is my story of favor,oh I forgot. When I filled my landing card,I forgot to fill my US address, the black Cbp officer just asked me for the address and he filled it for me.Right now,I am just resting. Will start my hospital search on Monday as Dr Fares is too far from me.
Thank you all for your meaningful contributions especially, the burden of proof thing and change of intent letter advice.
God bless you all.

Please house who has returned from U.S. with two infants oh.. is that possible? I read somewhere on delta airline website that an adult can take two Infants (one lap child and another a seat has to be purchased). I called the office in Lagos just to double check and the call agent said it's not allowed. Kindly advise my people. It's stressful but what if that's the only option one has under a short notice?
Thanks

Airline rule is you must pay child's fare for one so she can get a seat.

Estimate of the delivery bill has been shared by T Vegas before but mine is as follows:
Dr Fagbohun- 1920( after the discount)
300( initial visit plus ultrasound)
580( for tests)

Oakbend- 2300(,vaginal delivery)
NICS Peadiatrician- 514
Brown and Associates- 79

Thank you very much dear.
