Politics / Nigeria, Emefiele, And The New Naira Note by biztellers(m): 9:35am On Feb 16, 2023 |
Yemie Adeoye Recent events in Nigeria has made it imperative for me to ponder and wonder on how Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy, and largest crude oil producer, moved from Charles Soludo, Mohammed Lamido Sanusi to the current Governor of the Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele. I just wonder how we have decided to play with almost everything that can help our sorry lives. Especially the institutions that makes a nation. Post office, Public Primary Schools, Primary Healthcare centers, Fire service stations, Police stations and barracks, libraries etc. We killed em all by first appointing the most clueless on our clueless list of clueless people, those ones will develop policies that will installmentaly make the organization or institution irrelevant to the society, such that when it dies, no one will feel a thing. We’ve done a good job of this to every thing that we once held as national pride, from Nigeria Airways to Festac town, Nitel to trade Fair complex and indeed the National stadium. Politics / Exclusive: Buhari Under Pressure To Postpone Presidential Election by biztellers(m): 11:00pm On Feb 02, 2023 |
Barring any last-minute development aimed at restoring the breakdown of normal daily activities across the country, the forthcoming general elections will be postponed. Our investigation reveals that President Muhammadu Buhari is currently under intense pressure to postpone the elections indefinitely until normalcy is restored across the country. This is coming on the heels of the Central Banks’ new naira policy, which has just been extended by the CBN until February 10, 2023. A highly placed Presidency official who spoke on the condition of anonymity told our correspondent over the phone that highly placed elder statesmen and leaders of thought are already appealing to the President not to allow the elections to hold under these very stringent and tough conditions. “No electricity, no Petrol, no money, no security. It is common knowledge that this is a serious and unprecedented development in our national history, and no responsible leader will want to go into a national and keenly contested election under such circumstances.” Continue reading >>> https://biztellers.com.ng/exclusive-buhari-under-pressure-to-postpone-presidential-election/ 1 Like 1 Share

Politics / Nigerians ‘ll Never Witness APC Beyond 2023 - Atiku by biztellers(m): 8:19pm On Nov 30, 2022 |
Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has said he believes the All Progressives Congress (APC) won’t exist beyond the 2023 general elections. Atiku made this declaration at the party’s rally in Akure, Ondo state on Wednesday, monitored by Biztellers.com.ng. He said, “To be honest, PDP is the only political party. It is an alliance between CPC and a tenable party. And we have seen how alliances in this country have disappeared overnight. I don’t believe APC will survive after this election. We are going to vote them out and by the time we vote them out, they will be dead.” Atiku also promised to provide enough funds for education, praying that Nigerians will never witness a repeat of APC government beyond 2023, which he says brought untold hardship to Nigerians. Business / Eleven (11) Ways To Make Money Online, Number 10 Will Surprise You by biztellers(m): 11:43pm On Oct 18, 2022 |
By Funmilayo Olusanya The desire to quickly earn money online while staying at home has increased over the past few years. The appeal of the internet is that it serves as a potent sales channel, marketing network, and social media hub, among many other functions. Beyond completing surveys and selling used items on marketplaces, there are a variety of inventive ways to make quick money online. Nevertheless, some side jobs are more compatible with the laptop lifestyle than others. We’ll analyze the advantages and disadvantages of 30 of the best online money-making ideas in this idea guide. 1. Sell stuff online One of the best money-making ideas for quick cash is selling stuff online. You can buy and resale higher-value products like laptops, TVs, or phones, or you can sell clothing, furniture, and handbags from the comfort of your own home. You may purchase these goods online from merchants like AliExpress or from nearby thrift shops and yard sales, which is a terrific way to make quick money. Instead of using only one platform or marketplace, try to sell your stuff there as well. People are more likely to discover your products if they are available in more locations. There are hundreds of online marketplaces, each with its own specializations and commission rates. eBay, Facebook Marketplace, VarageSale, Mercado Libre, and your personal website are a few instances. If you enjoy this process, you can start a legitimate reseller business and sell anything from vintage clothing to refurbished electronics. 2. Start a dropshipping business Consider dropshipping—startup costs are low and it’s an increasingly popular way to make money online for beginners and pros alike. Dropshipping is a business model where you don’t keep the products you sell in stock. Instead, when a customer buys something from your store, a third party fulfills and ships the order for you. Dropshippers can cash in on the latest trends and sell trending products, or there are many steady product categories that offer similar opportunities to do well. At Shopify, we regularly see these categories on our list of top performers: clothing and accessories, jewelry, home and garden. You can create a Shopify store and test it out with a free trial. The pay period using Shopify Payments is five days plus the number of days remaining until your payout day. 3. Start freelancing An increasingly popular home business idea is offering freelance services to clients online. Freelance writing, graphic design, data entry, digital marketing—almost every role an online business would hire for is viable as a freelance service. I’ve worked with writers, illustrators, and designers for years at Shopify, most of whom make their full-time living freelancing, not just doing it in their spare time. Almost all of these services are best positioned toward business clients, for reasons similar to why business software is an attractive product: business clients are willing to spend. What most freelancers quickly learn is they have more leverage over the price they can charge when they position their work as outcomes instead of deliverables. Put another way, businesses hire freelance writers to create content that drives traffic and leads, not for wordsmithing. Sell clients on the outcome and prove it, where possible, through customer evidence like case studies and testimonials. The last thing to consider for these businesses is that they are a direct trade of time for money. You can make good money with a small selection of high-paying clients, but the moment you stop working, the cash flow dries up. You may be able to turn a freelance business into more of an agency, where hired help handles some client work. Politics / Crude Oil Theft: Why Peter Obi’s Allegations Against Nigerian Govt May Be True by biztellers(m): 2:10pm On Oct 14, 2022 |
By Edozie Obasi-Eze The deafening noise about crude oil theft in Nigeria has gotten to a level where no right-thinking person can continue paying a deaf ear to it. With individual households carving in under prevalent economic pressure, which is biting hard with stagflation, there’s little doubt that the man on the street is being compelled to ponder what has become of the national wealth. While those in authority have been quick to point accusing fingers at hoodlums, particularly the natives of the Niger-Delta region, those who know maintain that hydrocarbons are of such nature that they cannot be sneaked out of any part of the world without the authority being culpable. This much the presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party, Peter Obi averred recently. He also brought it to national consciousness that those behind crude oil theft, having been startled by his posturing that truth must be told are now masterminding his being taken out of circulation. The elite class would rather that their well-thought-out, and overly played-out narrative, of pointing accusing fingers at criminal elements, especially in the Niger Delta continues to circulate. But Nigerians appear to have had enough of that and have started going out of their way to share information with the public that buttresses why Mr Obi’s allegations might be true. In a recent trending video making the rounds on social media, an anonymous vlogger went aboard what he described as “an anonymous vessel” which he categorically averred was capable of loading and lifting up to one million barrels of crude oil. The male voice in the video described the vessel, as a Very Large Cargo Career (VLCC). Politics / The Sick Truth Of How Protesting NIMASA Cadets In Philippines Were Denied Access by biztellers(m): 1:15pm On Oct 08, 2022 |
The Sick Truth Of How Protesting NIMASA Cadets In Philippines Were Denied Access Into The Nigerian Embassy By Eunice Fumilayo The Batch 2 cadets under the National Seafarers Development Program (NSDP) have lamented being snubbed by the Nigerian Embassy in the Philippines. It was gathered that officials of the Embassy denied them access to lodging their complain. The NSDP Program is a brainchild of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) as an intervention program to train and ensure the supply of qualified seafarers from Nigeria. The Batch 2 cadets had previously protested to the NIMASA authority about negligence and nonpayment of their allowances, which prevented them from renewing their housing rents, obtaining their visas, and paying other fees in August. There are around 117 cadets. According to one of the protesters in the video, they are supposed to complete their course within four years but it is now running to 10 years as there have been several delays and arbitrary extensions of some of their examinations. In the footage, they are prevented from entering the Nigerian Embassy by Philippine officials, who are seen stating that they had been told not to allow them. However, according to a news release from the Nigerian embassy that was released on Thursday and a copy of which Daily Trend was able to obtain, the Cadets were protesting NIMASA and making their complaints and demands known. It said that they behaved improperly and completely disregarded the nation. The statement reads in part “The Embassy of Nigeria, Manila wishes to refer to allegations against the Embassy making the rounds through videos on social media posted by some disgruntled NIMASA cadets on the 5th of October, 2022, where they accused the Embassy of refusing them access to the building to protest their grievances against NIMASA. “The Embassy wishes to inform you that the said cadets did not have any scheduled appointment with the Embassy on the sad date which is in defiance to the rules of Estate management in the Philippines. “As such, the Estate/ Barangay reserves the right to prohibit persons from entering the premises without an appointment. “Secondly, the cadets did not submit any formal notification of protest to the Philippine Authorities before they embarked on the protest. This explains why there were a lot of policemen present at the scene where the unruly cadets were disturbing the peace of the residents in the area and obstructing vehicular traffic. Politics / Exclusive: Real Reasons Why Gov. Wike Lost At The PDP Primaries..... by biztellers(m): 7:36am On Oct 06, 2022 |
..........And Fell Out With Party And Atiku * Rivers state elders and political leaders behind Gov's travails * How Rivers State delegates voted for Atiku during the primaries * Why Atiku is silent over Wike’s continued outburst By Yemie ADEOYE BARRING any last-minute moves as campaigns officially commence for the 2023 elections in Nigeria, the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is bound to go into the general elections a divided party, with different factions, thereby making it easier for the ruling All Progressives Congress, and the fast-rising Labour Party at the polls. This is due to fresh facts emerging on why River state Governor, Nyesom Wike lost at the presidential primaries of the party in May to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and has since gone on a rampage against the party leadership, especially the national chairman Senator Iyorchia Ayu. The Governor who arguably governs the richest state in Nigeria’s oil-rich south-south region has since launched a campaign for the removal of the national chairman of the party, who incidentally is from the northern part of the country, just like the party’s flag bearer, Mr Atiku Abubakar. Wike’s insistence is drawn from the fact that the Party’s Presidential candidate is from the Northeast zone, while the Director General of the Party’s Presidential campaign council, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state is from the Northwest, hence, for the purpose of fairness and inclusiveness the next most important office which is the national chairman should honourably go to the south. It is either this, or the party should be prepared to fail at the polls, as he threatened severally that Rivers state votes is not for charity, and that the support will only come if there is fairness, equity and oneness in the party. Mr Wike has the seemingly staunch support of the Governors of Oyo, Benue, and Abia states, as well as former governor Donald Duke of Cross River state, and former deputy national chairman south of the party, Chief Olabode George. However, Biztellers investigations have revealed that the major reason behind Mr Wike’s problems is not just his seemingly rambunctious attitude, but centres around his inability to honour a gentleman’s agreement between him and an array of political leaders in River’s state, especially those of the PDP extraction. Politics / BREAKING: $23m Abacha Loot: SERAP Writes Buhari, Seeks ‘copy Of Agreement With by biztellers(m): 11:43pm On Aug 28, 2022 |
******* the United State of America By John Mommoh Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to “direct the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) to provide our organization with a copy of the agreement the Federal Government recently signed with the United States for the repatriation of $23 million stolen by late General Sani Abacha.” The United States government had last week signed an agreement with the Federal Government to repatriate $23 million Abacha loot to Nigeria. In the letter dated 27 August 2022 and signed by SERAP deputy director Kolawole Oluwadare, the organisation said: “By the combined reading of the Nigerian Constitution 1999 [as amended], the Freedom of Information Act, and the country’s international obligations, there are transparency obligations imposed on your government to widely publish the agreement on the $23 million Abacha loot.” SERAP said, “Providing us with a copy of the agreement with the US, and publishing the agreement would allow Nigerians to scrutinise it, and to monitor the spending of the repatriated $23 million Abacha loot to ensure that the money is not mismanaged, diverted or stolen.” SERAP expressed “concern that the repatriated $23 million Abacha loot is vulnerable to corruption and mismanagement. A substantial part of the estimated $5 billion returned Abacha loot since 1999 may have been diverted, re-stolen or mismanaged, and in any case remain unaccounted for.” The letter, read in part: “The Nigerian Constitution, Freedom of Information Act, and the country’s anti-corruption and human rights obligations rest on the principle that citizens should have access to information regarding their government’s activities.” “Your government has a responsibility to ensure transparency and accountability in how any repatriated stolen funds are spent, to reduce vulnerability to corruption and mismanagement.” “SERAP also urges you to provide details of the transparency and accountability mechanisms that have been put in place to ensure that the repatriated funds are not mismanaged, diverted, or re-stolen.” “We would therefore be grateful if the recommended measures are taken within seven days of the receipt and/or publication of this letter. If we have not heard from you by then, SERAP shall take all appropriate legal actions to compel your government to comply with our request in the public interest.” Continue Reading >>>>> https://biztellers.com.ng/breaking-23m-abacha-loot-serap-writes-buhari-seeks-copy-of-agreement-with-us/

Politics / EXCLUSIVE: Why Buhari’s Impeachment Threat By The Senate Remains A Joke by biztellers(m): 10:54pm On Aug 28, 2022 |
THE recent threat by Nigeria’s upper legislative chamber to commence impeachment proceedings against Nigeria’s president, Mr. Muhammadu Buhari is nothing short of a ridiculous joke on the unassuming Nigerian populace, who may see this move as a positive step in the right direction, and a sign that the Senate is finally on the side of the people. However, Biztellers can authoritatively reveal that neither the APC led Presidency nor the political watchers were amused let alone impressed by the move as they watch the senators storming out of a plenary session, claiming to be protesting against the President’s weakness in dealing with the worsening insecurity bedeviling the country, and that has crept into every geo-political zone of the country. Biztellers investigations reveal that the Presidency strongly believe that the threat by the senators is just an empty charade to hoodwink members of the public into seeing them as an ally of the people, and this is going by the fact that the move was coming when the senate was almost at the verge of its yearly recess which usually lasts for two months, a period long enough for the president to deploy every means at his disposal into calming frayed nerves amongst his own party men and launching a counter and almost fatal attack at the opposition. Another factor according to our source deep inside the presidency is that this is happening at a time many of the senators had already lost out in their return bid as more than 80 percent of the members of the 9th senate lost to retain their seat at the primary elections of their various political parties. Hence, their claim that they were terribly dissatisfied with the high-level insecurity in the country does not hold water. The Senators across political parties, had towards the end of July, given President Muhammadu Buhari six weeks ultimatum to properly address worsening insecurity or face immediate impeachment. The minority leader Philip Aduda had tried to raise a motion to that effect on the Senate floor but was frustrated by Senate President, Ahmed Lawan just before they embarked on this year’s recess. However, Nigerian political watchers were also not impressed by this move. Some of them who spoke with this writer on the condition of anonymity recalled the fact that the insecurity in Nigeria had been there before the 9th senate was inaugurated a little more than 3years ago, thereby wondering why they are now just waking up from their slumber when it is almost too late, and the president has less than a year to finish is second term and handover to a new government. Politics / Who’ll Tell APC That People Are Dying? by biztellers(m): 6:21pm On Aug 28, 2022 |
By Kenneth Eze Each day, the anguish of those using the Lagos-Ibadan expressway seems to peak. The next day, it gets worse. This has been the situation for almost a decade. Had it been possible, the people would have gotten used to it, but humans and hardship are strange bedfellows. The All Progressives Congress (APC) seems to have found a formidable ally in Julius Berger. They always find a way to improve, to strengthen the stranglehold on the necks of road users at the Ogun State-Lagos State end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Watching miscreants, hoodlums, and armed criminals take advantage has left people wondering if all the parties are working together. This thought is hard to resist, given the realities confronting the people. And the onus is on the principal actors to prove otherwise. If not for collaboration, why should the Nigerian Government, concession this critical national infrastructure to Julius Berger, a company well versed in tormenting the people? If there’s no strategy behind it, why should a government or a company, block Nigeria’s most economically important road without any alternative? Politics / 2023: David Hundeyin Exposes Keyamo, Apc’s Alleged Fake News Mill by biztellers(m): 9:04am On Aug 28, 2022 |
By Paul Eso Popular Nigerian investigative journalist, David Hundeyin, has exposed those behind the avalanche of fake news being peddled against the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi. Hundeyin’s latest revelation followed a denigrating tweet by the Minister of State for Labour and APC’s presidential campaign spokesperson, Festus Keyamo, mocking the supporters of the LP standard bearer as having been deceived. Keyamo, via his verified Twitter handle, while reacting to a news story from Podium Reporters, wrote: “We told the OBIdient soldiers that their ‘hero’ was taking them to nowhere; taking them for a ride of the century and for political 419! We laugh! We are ahead of them! EXCLUSIVE: Obi agrees to deal to clear path for Atiku’s emergence – Podium Reporters”. Through that period until this moment, Nigeria’s three arms of government, The Executive, The Legislature and the Judiciary have all been headed by Northerners.
