Reading is the process by which we dedicate our mental and physical part towards studying relevant materials that is useful for our academic, so as to excel in learning and acquire more knowledge.

As Jamb 2017 examination is drawing nearer, candidate must endeavour to put in their best in reading various materials that will help them to pass their examination.

Reading will make you think back on what you were taught in class and correlate it with your reading abilities this will ensure good memorization and increase academic performance.

2. Skimming: This is the process of reading thoroughly the content of a book. It involves looking deeply into every line, segment and parts of the textbooks. You will also be familiar with the book, as you continue to read and reread so as to ensure better understanding.

3. Scanning: This is use when you are searching for a particular information in the textbooks. You will need to take a piece of information from what you want to read, which is located in various relevant books used in your study. It is used mostly use when students need to search relevant articles that is pertaining to their course of study, so as to carry out research for their project or assignment.

4: Environment: The reader should carefully select a good academic environment that will not hinder their ways of learning. A calm and noiseless environment should be put into consideration while reading, so as to ensure better comprehension of the various pages or passages of books they are studying.

Whatever the approach student use in reading, they must ensure they study effectively and efficiently, so as to increase their rate of learning.

Despite its crumbling economy, Zimbabwe, a country which has been ranked among the world's worst-performing countries, has been rated 'the most highly developed country in Africa' by it's President Robert Mugabe.
The controversial leader made the declaration during the World Economic Forum on Africa which took place Thursday in Durban, South Africa.

When asked to comment on the global belief about Zimbabwe being the perfect example of a failed nation. Responding to the statement, Mugabe declared that his country is the most highly developed country in Africa.

'That is not true!' He started, adding that 'Zimbabwe is the most highly developed country in Africa. After South Africa, I want to see another country as highly developed.

To justify his declaration, he said: 'We have a bumper harvest,' he continued, 'not only maize but also tobacco and many other crops. We are not a poor country. If anyone wants to call us fragile, they can. You can also call America fragile,'

Police on Tuesday, April 25, nabbed a 31-year-old farmer identified as Abdul Salam for killing his 6-year- old son and cutting off his head and legs at Adidaase near Amanso Amenfi in Wassa Amenfi of western region, Ghana.

Speaking to Energy fm of Prestea,one eyewitness explain that the boy got missing since yesterday which made the the unity committee of the area conducted a search.

It happened that the father Abdul Salam butchered his son and removed some part of him and upon into interrogation confessed that he murdered him to sell the head and the legs. Abdul Salam is in the custody of Asanco police command for further investigation.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has waged war against Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over the monies they have been discovering in the country.

In a series of tweets on its social media page, the former ruling party expressed their dissatisfaction with the commission for finding money at the Airport, apartments, and offices without revealing the owners.

They said the Anti-corruption fight under the APC govt has become a comedy, where EFCC now discovers funds in apartments and offices that have no owners.

According to the party, they said their administration established the EFCC to fight corruption effectively and efficiently and not to entertain Nigerians on social media.

In another tweet, they are demanding that the EFCC explain to Nigerians the total amount they have recovered in the last two years and provide verifiable accounts of recovered funds.See more tweets below:

It was confirmed by the Bayelsa Police Command that Mr Famous Giobaro a journalist,was killed by some Unidentified gunmen on Sunday. Giobaro, staff of state owned Glory FM 97.1 was killed by the gunmen in his residence at INEC Road, Kpasia in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The Bayelsa Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Asinim Butswat, said the command was yet to get the full detail. According to an eye witness , the gunmen stormed Giobaro’s apartment within a bungalow at about 5am on Sunday and shot him point blank on the stomach.

The attackers had gained access into the compound after scaling the fence with a ladder. They went straight to Giobaro’s kitchen door, shot at it and pulled it down to enter the journalist’s bedroom.

Two unidentified men who slept in the apartment with Giobaro were said to have hidden in the wardrobe and toilet when the gunmen entered. The attackers did not steal anything and they did not attack other occupants of the bungalow, triggering speculations they could be assassins.

Bayelsa Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) described the attack as shocking. NUJ Chairman, Mr John Angese and Secretary, Mr Stanley Imgbi said Giobaro’s death was a huge loss to the union.

The Police were asked to investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book by he union.
