Then you need to resign.
If you don't know how to genrate IGR to ensure your state can pay the minimum wage, then a stte of emergency should be delcared and the FG should appoint a Sole Administrator for the state

There is no rocket science here,

Tell the people you are re-introducing fuel subsidy at 50% , let people buy fuel at N350/400

Nigerians will be patient to see what you have done with the other 50% the government takes.

How do you drop a policy , then start to think how to make the policy work.

Nigerians even tried to be patient for 1 year..

This madness will not happy anywhere.

What is the government doing for the people if they take off all subsidies ?
Where is the money to do that?
When will you guys get the message, Nigeria is BROKE. Money no dey again. Government can't afford the level of subsidy that exsist3d before

Don't follow Northern hypocrites. Anti SAP riots in 1989, only the south rioted. June 12th riots 1993 and 1994 only the south rioted. The north only rioted when it was a southerner GEJ, that was in power.
The North have NEVER rioted when a fellow northerner is in power.
The South need to be wise. The ONLY reason the North is going to riot, is because Tinubu has cut them off from the national cake
Politics / Re: Tinubu Vendetta Against Dangote by bjdon: 3:42pm On Jul 22
Many of you commenting on this, your entire family wealth is not up to what Dangote or Tinubu's side chicks spend in a single weekend! Leave matter! This is an argument among thieves. Dangote did not complain when he was in the good books of OBJ, GEJ and Buhari, now I am supposed to feel sorry for him?
Tinubu is a crook, has always been a crook and will always be a crook. Am I supposed to defend him?
They are all big crooks, let them each other alive for all I care!

Politics / Re: The Actual Reason Why Nigeria Can Never Have 24/7 Electricity Supply by bjdon: 8:39am On Jul 18
The only reason why there's no power 24/7 is because power generation and transmission are in govt hands. If the generation and transmission sector is totally opened up to private players you will see a swift change in no time.
Please show me one thing that the govt runs that ever worked in this country. Nigerian Airways gone. NITEL gone. Ajakouta and Delta steel gone. Nigerian govt is a ceaspool of corruption and to think they are capable of doing anything properly is to be deluded.
privatize the entire power sector and see what will happen. Do you think Dangote or Rabiu will build a power station and that station will not be working at full capacity 24/7?

Politics / Re: Nigeria Will Work Better If Divided by bjdon: 8:59am On Jul 12
I am sorry but this is not the answer to our problems.
In current day Nigeria not a single state has running pipe borne water. If you don't have a bore hole na you know. Just think about that, not one state has been able to provide WATER. Now if you divide the country tomorrow is it not the same people that have been governors and senators from these states, that will now become the leaders of Arewa, Biafra, Odua...?
Our problems are wickedness, selfishness and lack of compassion. These traits are in way too many people in the country, and if you divide you will simply have the same traits in the new breakaway nations. Imagine a Biaffra with Orji Kalu as president or an Odua with Tinubu as president. Would it not be the same corruption that would manifest there?
We need a change of mindset and a proper rule based order to progress
Politics / Re: Nigeria Will Work Better If Divided by bjdon: 8:53am On Jul 12
Omoawoke:
Look at those European countries, they work better because each to its own.
Denmark, Finland, Spain, Italy, Austria, France etc... The same people with same identity and language gather to form even smaller individual countries with fewrer populations.

West African countries were established to fulfill only one aim which is colonization, to divide and conquer.
Imagine a yoruba nation standing alone, igbo nation standing alone and Hausa nation standing alone.. We will work better individually and even as a team.

If you keep brothers in one house fighting and competing for the same resources, there won't be peace in that house and progress may be slow. But let each have their separate properties, they will work better and meet time to time in the family house for family meetings. They will have each others back better and work towards progress.
.
By all means divide the country if you want, but do not think for one minute that will bring development and progress.
Look at all the states at the moment. Bad roads, no pipe borne water, dilapidated schools. The governors and LG are all corrupt and evil. The bottom line is we are a very wicked and evil people and dividing the country will not change that.

I hope someday Nigeria can divide! it will be for the greater good.

That's how they lunched Vision 2020, years ago, saying Nigeria would be in the top 20 by 2020. Here we are in 2024, closer to the bottom 20. Waste of space nation.
We should just beg UK to come and recolonise us for 100 years
Politics / Re: LGBT: Knocks As Nigeria Signs $150 Billion Samoa Deal by bjdon: 10:48am On Jul 04
Govt can sign any agreement it wants. In a democracy power flows from the PEOPLE. If we the PEOPLE say NO to LGB nonsense, then that's the end of the matter.
Nigerians need to learn how to mobilize and use the power they have. Kenya have show a taste of how it's done

When you understand that this nation is help captive by some truly demonic people, who are only interested in feeding fat and care NOTHING about the development of the nation, then and only then, will so many strange things that happen in Nigeria start to make sense.

Bloody hypocrites.
If they are really serious then they should agree that all VAT generated from Alcohol production and sales, should be deducted from the total that is shred among all the states. Why should a state that bans alchold be getting VAT that consists of alcohol procceds?

DomPerignon:

And so?

If you check well, it is possible you took their names and culture and not the other way round.

Today, many colonised people bear European names and imbibe their culture. They also outnumber Europeans .

Old English is basically Flemish which is exactly the same as German. But do you see Germans dragging England?

Same modern English has a lot of borrowed words and names. Christian names like John , Peter and co are common among Europeans but that doesn't make Jews claim that Europeans are their people.

Dutch language is similar to German but you don't see Germans claiming Holland as Deutschland .
Every Niara you parents used to educate you was money well spent! Bless you
I keep telling Igbo people that just because people in an area answer Igbo names, that does not mean they are Igbo, it just means that they originated from the Igbo nation, but have since settled in new areas and formed new traditions and identities.
In Belgium the Wallonia region speak French and have French names, yet if you dare call a Walloon a French men, he will rain curses on you. Same with Switzerland which has French, German and Italian speaking parts. All of those people will tell you they are Swiss, not French, German or Italian.
Ethnic groups in Nigeria have been internally migrating for centuries. There's no doubt that the Agbor people would have migrated from the area that's now the SE of Nigeria, but over the centuries, they have developed their own identity. They are totally free to define their own destiny and not be railroaded into any 'Greater Igbo' nation

You will not find portable drinking water in any of the cities in their states.
None of the states have well defined and maintained road networks
None of the states has a state hospital that can perform cancer screening.

I don't like Tinubu and will never support him, but simply can't deny he's a political gladiator. The man has won all his battles, sometimes against great odds. Now with the full power of federal might, and the willingness to deploy it it will be very hard to unseat him in 2027

P.O without a prominent Northerner on his ticket, an elected governor, NASS member, House Assembly member, Chairman or Councilor won 12 states plus FCT polling 6.1 million votes securing 25%. Don't underrate him because the North will deliver higher votes if he runs again. But P.O has thrown the challenge to Turaki and Turaki is up and doing more than he had done in a post election year. P.O's visit has fired him. So let's remain calm and wait for 2026 if God grants us life then.
Sorry but the numbers don't lie. PO CAN'T get enough votes in a 3 way race to get to Aso Rock. FACT

Why not the other way round
It would be nice, but I deal in REALITY. As bad as Tinubu's admin might be, the vast majority of the North would still vote for a Muslim-Muslim ticket again in 2027 rather than vote for Atiku. This is just a fact. PO needs to rebuild the North-SE alliance that used to exisist and the only way to do that is to accept the VP slot to a powerful Northerner in 2027. Guys, politics is a game of numbers and strategy. If anyone can show me how PO wins in 2027, I'll be happy to reconsider my position, but as far as I can see, he's go NO REALISTIC path to Aso rock, based on the votting patterns and ethno-religous considerations.

How do you then think a prominent southerner will run as Atiku's running mate? Superiority mentality of the north over south must stop this time around. We have alot of Wike in the south in case you don't know.
Stop being EMOTIONAL
With a divided southern vote the only way Tinibu can be defeated is with northern votes. FACT. The north will be kingmakers in 2027 FACT. If PO does not unite with Atiku(or any other prominent Norhtern candiate) then the North will simply vote for their candiate, the SE will vote PO and Tinubu (with the aid of Yakubu) will win by default again.FACT

Wonder shall never cease, after all the insults on the Yoruba by calling them ash licker of the north. It's the same north that the SE want to lick their ash. Nawa ooooo
In politics there's no perm friend and no perm enemy. I would actually call that politics 101. Did Tinubu not inuslt Buhari in the past? Did El Rufai not insult Buhari in the past?
Politics is a game of numbers and the only thing that matters is getting those numbers in order to win. Everything else is for kids. On this score I will always respect Tinubu. I don't support him, but I totally respect him as a political genius. PO could learn a lot from him

Sentiments aside, but u apply the same sentiment to propose PO to be Atiku running mate,..Anything apart from the SE taking the no1 seat is unacceptable ...if they like let them visit the moon and back...Atiku is a very selfish politician
I am not being sentimental at all, I am being REALISTIC. Tinubu is president today, becasue he realised the Yoruba could not do it on their own and so went into aliance with Buhari and allowed Buhair to rule for 8 years.
I like PO, I really do, he's got the right ideas for how to grow our economy, but the fact reamins he does NOT have the votes to get him to Aso Rock. Not sentiments, just FACTS. Nobody has ever made it to Aso rock while loosing both the SW, NW and NE. Nobody. it's simply not possible. PO votting block is SE part of SS and part of NC. Not enough to get him to Aso rock. Not sentiments, FACTS. He either goes into ailiance with Atiku in 2027 or they both split the vote again and Tinubu is re-elected. Fact

The North are loading.
The only question is if PO wil do deal to run as Atiku's VP. I know many people will object to this, but if you put sentiments aside, it's the only game in town in 2027. No prominant northerner will run as PO's running mate, and only an alliance of the North and SE can unseat Tinubu.
