Politics / Re: Tinubu To State Govs: "Support Local Farmers To Boost Food Production" by bjdon: 8:45pm On Feb 15
I've got to say the man has a point. Nigerians don't put enough pressure on the their state governments and LGs to deliver. Everyone focuses only on the FG
Politics / Re: Petroleum Commission To Relocate Key Departments To Lagos by bjdon: 8:41pm On Feb 15
Who cares, Its still their kids that will get jobs in those departments. They can locate the departments on the moon for all I care. It doesn't affect me or my family.

For those blaming APC and president Tinubu for the hardship in the country, are you all aware that UK and Japan are currently in economic recession? Is it APC and Tinubu that is ruling both nations? Nobody should blame APC and Tinubu for the rot the PDP government of Jonathan caused. What we are suffering today is the result of the Jonathan government's recklessness. Peter Obi and his PDP gang brought Nigeria to her knees. May God help our dear president Tinubu to fix the country like he did in Lagos.
Its better to keep quiet, and let people think you are senseless, than to open your mouth and remove all doubts.

Under Tinubu Nigerians will FINALLY get sense by fire by force!

Politics / Re: Elder Statesman, Aminu Dantata Backs Transition To Parliamentary System by bjdon: 2:32pm On Feb 15
The same system we had that collapsed in the 1st republic. Nonsense
We just need to have a proper federal system, with the states and LG having full fiscal autonomy and resource control. No more sharing money as monthly allocation. That will force us to move from consumption to production

Simple demand and supply. We import practically everything plus we now also source FX for school fees and healthcare. What do you expect will happen?
The governors and LG are totally useless. Not one state in the country has an industrial strategy or an end to end agriculture strategy. All they do is collect and share monthly allocation.
The party has come to an end. Every level of govt in this country needs to focus on Production and not consumption, just like the Man said during the campaign

Politics / Re: DSS Quizzes Sheikh Auwal Shariff For Criticizing Tinubu Over Hardship by bjdon: 10:31am On Feb 13
As usual the discussions in Nigeria are filled with falsehoods.

I don't like/support Tinubu, but the truth must always be said. Tinubu did NOT remove fuel subsidy, Buhari did. The allowance for payment of fuel subsidy in the current budget was only till June. I am not saying Tinubu did not support and endorse the policy, but it was originally conceived and put in place by Buhari. Buhari knew Nigeria could not afford subsidy, but he was too much of a coward to do it while he was in office, so he set the subsidy removal to kick in when the next govt was in office so they would face the heat. Buhari was the WORST thing to ever happen to Nigeria.
Politics / Re: Edo Trains Additional 1500 Vigilante Operatives, Intensifies Reaccreditation by bjdon: 10:17pm On Feb 12
So many states now have state police in all but name. It's time we took the next logical step and allowed states set up proper state police forces to compliment the National police.
Politics / Re: Tell Your Husband To Address Hunger, Insecurity - Emir Of Kano To Remi Tinubu by bjdon: 6:24pm On Feb 12
The Emir is not an illiterate, so he should know perfectly well why some offices of CBN have been moved to Lagos. Nowhere in the world are all the departments of a central bank in a single location. Why do we always look to bring ethnic sentiments into everything?

onez:
There is no sugarcoating the reality. The economy has gotten out of hand. The corrupt fools have no clue of what to do. Any action they take worsens it. The masses only have option now. People should leave their offices and shops and march to Abuja and sack Tinubu immediately.
The Yoruba and Northern Muslims that voted for him, should be in the front of the protest

This is to notify all Israeli slaves and their masters that, with their open cruelty which the world has witnessed, especially the youths of Palestine, something worse than October 7, 2023 is highly likely to be repeated in future over and over again against the Israelis.
And the Israel will reply with something even worse than what they have done since October 8th. Nobody has a monopoly on terror as Isreal is showing.
If the Palestinians have ANY sense in their heads, after this war, they should seek out Mandela like leaders who promote peace and co-existence, not useless jihad and violence. With such leaders they will be reach a sensible deal with Israel that will benefit both peoples. Failing that they can consign themselves to another 25 years of death and misery.

Really sad. Tinubussss government is worse than Abacha
Very easy to believe. Did we not all see the campaigns? Why is anybody acting surprised now? Did Tinubu make a SINGLE sensible comment during the campaign? As usual Nigerians seem to think they can vote for incompetents based on primordial sentiments of tribe and religion, and somehow, those same incompetents will favour them. We are our own worst enemies

Many Yoruba's thought it would be 'business as usual' That it was now their turn to chop and clean mouth. What they did not understand was that Buhari and his goons have emptied the account over the last 8 years. There's nothing left. Even our oil for this year has already been sold. CBN can no longer lend money to govt. Everything don scatter scatter.
That's what happens when the so called President has an attitude of 'Na Statistics we go chop' and educated people still go and vote for him.

Over 12 bags. The hunger in the land no concern me. I am from an oil producing place. So, I am comfortable. I have a job that earns me around #400k; and I also have another work that pays me over #350k every month for doing absolutely nothing. All these are aside the allowances and other bonuses I get. I was recently paid some money by Shell for damages as their proposed new gas pipeline passed through my land.
I am not married and do not plan to do so as most Nigerian girls are useless. I still live in my family house with my mom in her big house, so I spend even a lot less. I want to focus on making more money and do my music for pleasure. Nothing concerns me with Nigeria and her madness. I have minimised my comments on the politics section. Agbadorians can stand on Bats manhood for all I care, I go survive. As far as oil and gas still flows in my place, I won't be broke.
You are wise beyond your years.
I simply don't understand why any Nigerian man under 40 would consider marriage. Spend your 20's and 30's building up wealth and enjoying a wide range of women.Get married in your 40s when you are established and can afford everything that goes with raising a family, without stress

"Nobody will stand by you..." after insulting the southern intelligence, mostly of the igbos and us the Niger Deltans, you're now using your propaganda to call this riot a tribal thing. So because Tinububu is from d South, we should continue like this ?

We will match with the North. We stand with the North. Take ur tribal narratives elsewhere. Tinubu must go... infact, let d army do d job for us.
If you are too dumb not to understand how Nigeria REALLY works go ahead and join any root. The North NEVER riot against their own
. If Tinubu is brought down tomorrow, who do you think will replace him?
The only protest I will support is one for total restructuring of this country.

Big Fat No!!

The North have NEVER joined any riot against a northern leader (1989 SAP riot, 1993/94 June 12 riots, 2021 End Sars). The North only know how to riot when it's against a southern president.

I don't like Tinubu, I will NEVER support him, but I also will NEVER join any march against him, even though he and his SW people betrayed the SS.

Na lie! i did not, and can never vote Tinubu, but I will NEVER join any protest agaisnt him. it's only when it's a southerner in office that the North suddenly know how to protest. They did it aginast GEJ, and now want to do the same agaisnt Tinubu. We should leave them to it, by 2027 maybe they would have learnt a leason and wil not rush to vote 'Muslim-Muslim' ticket

Nobody in SS and SE should join any rubbish protest. We did everything we could to change this country for the better in the last election and the SW and North said a big fat no. Now let them enjoy their Muslim-Muslim 'Na statistics we go chop' Presidency. Shebi they said it will benefit them and their families! grin

Now it's a Southerner in power suddenly Aboki knows how to protest. When they were voting muslim-muslim ticket they did not know. They should all go and sit down. We shall suffer this suffer together for the next 8 years. Nigerians must finally get sense, by fire by force

Politics / Re: PDP Governors Advocate State Police, Donate N100m To Assist Plateau Victims by bjdon: 2:26pm On Feb 02
nairalanda1:
State police cannot work in NIgeria.

Now, before you start calling me anti-progress, and anti-People, and fulani lackey, I believe that every state should have a police force. But in NIgeria, we got two issues

1.Most of the states do not have the funding to fund a properly equipped police force. Yes, the security votes they give governors could help, but to form a police force, with working equipment, forensics, training, and well armed is going to take more than just security vote.

Our current VP when he was governor used his security vote one year to buy 48 hilux trucks for the security forces. NOw imagine he was fuding state police. THat means after buying the hilux, he has no cash left over. OK.o. And value of naira has fallen since 2013.

2.Tribal and religious bias. SO what happens when there is tribal and religious conflict, and the police is majoirty from one side of the tribe? SOme people can still remember the pogroms of the 1960's. Police could do nothing. MOst of them were from one side.

ANyway, until states are ready to tax more of their gdp, and until we wake up and realize why we need fairness, we are not ready for state police. (Splitting the country won't solve the problems either)

You have raised some valid points, but these can all be addressed:
1.Most of the states do not have the funding to fund a properly equipped police force. Yes, the security votes they give governors could help, but to form a police force, with working equipment, forensics, training, and well armed is going to take more than just security vote.
--The FG budget would be drastically reduced as a lot of the functions will now be carried out by state police, so basically the FG can 'rebate' funds to the states for policing

2.Tribal and religious bias. SO what happens when there is tribal and religious conflict, and the police is majoirty from one side of the tribe? SOme people can still remember the pogroms of the 1960's. Police could do nothing. MOst of them were from one side.
---State police does not mean the end of Federal police. Many countries have multiple levels of law enforcement from town to state to Federal The Federal police would still exist and would mainly be dealing with crimes across state boundries, economic crimes and prevention of wide scale break down in law and order. If there were other such tribal based riots, it would be the Federal police that would have the responsibility to maintain law and order and protect innocent people

Basically the current situation is simply not working. Effective law and order must start from the grassroots upwards.
