Jesus was talking about holy communion... Not erecting a statue in His remembrance.

At that point, bread was in His hands, but all he wanted, is that salvation be remembered by mankind through Him[and of course, His coming]

Jesus was referring to his TEACHINGS not his LOOKS so blessed are those who never saw Jesus' looks or his miraculous performance but trusted (believes) in his wise counsels.

That's the PRACTICAL APPLICATION of what you just quoted Sir!

He Jesus, why did he break bread and say, "do this in remembrance of me"?

They who worship images are guilty of your opinion, the statue was erected for remembrance purposes I guess (my humble opinion)

Pure idolatry...

Even the bible forbids graven imagery.

Do this in remembrance of me?

Waste of resources

Is high time people stop molding anyhow statue in the name of Jesus Christ.

What prove do they have to convince people like me, that the statue has a real look of Jesus Christ sad

Blessed are those who have not seen but yet believe, so says the book?

The statue of Jesus The Redeemer in Brasil

had before now, maintained the title of the tallest statute of Jesus Christ in the world

Record are meant to be broken as the saying goes and the Poland Catholic priest, Rev father Sylwester Zawadski did break the record when he achieved his life long dream and ambition, to erect the now world's largest statue of Jesus, in his home country, Poland.

The statue which is located in Swiebodzin, the Western part of Poland was officially completed in 2010 with the height measuring about 33 metres - 108 ft tall while the crown on the statue is about 3 metres - 9.8 ft talladding up with its mound, the whole statue makes a total of 52.5 metres - 172 ft in height

It took about five years in total, to construct and cost around $1.5 million to build, which was collected from donations of the 21,000 residents of the town.

In Nigeria today, $1.5 million is equal to ₦622,125,637.50 i.e six hundred and twenty-two million, one hundred and twenty-five thousand, six hundred and thirty-seven naira, 50 kobos as of the time of writing this post

Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, is an Islamic cleric, scholar and former military officer with the rank of captain in the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA).

He is constantly playing the statesman role in the nation by contributing his opinions and critics likewise to both past and present administrations.

In his usual manner, he recently contributed to the worsening condition of the nation when he gave his own quota of words of wisdom to the beloved people of Nigeria.

He is quoted to saying that the next President is going to face a lot of challenges in the already messed up state of the country.

"In a metaphorical sense, the nation is suffering from three main disabling diseases. They are Leprosy, Diabetes, and HIV/AIDs; all in one body."

Source: Punch News

Explaining what he meant, he stated that In referring to leprosy, which is a disease that attacks the sensory nervous system while the brain is unaware of the suffering of the extremities, that the presidency, which represents the brain, is not getting the exact picture of the grassroots suffering and the top notch poverty attacking the masses and this is because the feedback system is attacked by corruption, wickedness, and immorality.

Speaking on diabetes, he states how the body (nation) receives excess sugar (resources) which are unable to get into the body tissues for metabolism, thus leaving this excesses in the bloodstream (leaders) thereby destroying vital organs (unrest)

Coming down to HIV/AIDS he said, "With HIV, the defence system is weakened to the extent that a small group of rascal criminals can cause the nation unrest and bring it to a halt" _ source: Punch News

Going further he suggested that the next President needs to be intelligent to be able to spot men with insight, rather than a pack of ‘loud and haughty’ persons with an impulsive temperament that is after the praise of biased citizens and also avoid gullible religious leaders who dances to the tune of each administration.

satelliteDISH:
What is this one saying?

The scenario in the APC, is it the same as the one in the PDP?

Atiku personally constituted a committee to help get him his VP. Nobody forced him to make that decision.
17 voted in favour of Wike, but instead he ignored the committee report report and unveil Okowa.

If nah you, you no go vex.

Secondly, is it too difficult for Atiku to ask Ayu to step down as chairman. Yet he is claiming unifier up-and-down.
His sturborness to the issue on ground proves that if you eventually becomes president, he will not be listening to anyone thereby behaving like a dictator.

You said your mind, well done

The former governor of Jigawa state in a recent interview with THISDAY, adviced Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, to stop complaining about his fate in the outcome of the presidential primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held sometimes earlier this year.

Prior to the unveiling of a running mate, Nigerians believed that governor Wike would be favoured by Atiku but the former VP picked Ifeanyi Okowa instead, the governor of Delta State.

When inquired on the motive behind his decision, Atiku was quoted to have said he chose someone he could work with amicably leading to Wike countering the statement by saying the VP lied on him

In the interview with THISDAY, Governor Sule-Lamido, also a staunch PDP member and chieftain, asked his co-partyman, Wike to learn from Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo

and Rotimi Amaechi, former minister of transportation, who both lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary and accepted the defeat in good fate.

In his words exactly,

“Look at the APC party primaries, Vice-President Osinbajo was humiliated...Amaechi was given the same treatment; they took it as mature men and did not go about complaining as Wike is doing. This is called maturity.

“Do you know why? This is because the party is supreme. You cannot be bigger than your party. Party is organic. The convention has come and gone.

“Osinbajo, Lawan and Amaechi have shown maturity because their party has spoken. If Wike is in the APC will he be talking and behaving as he is doing now?
