If you are very good and tough, choose oau pharmacy or medicine. Benue is ELDS and pray nobody frm Benue has a higher mark than you , you would get the admission so far you have 200 and above. Oau is not competitive for ELDS.
But, to maintain the admission, you gotta sabi crammmmm and super intelligent.
I think oau is top 5 amongst most applied universities this year.. pls what is ELDS?

Sad.. Just 180 would get you into a private med schl. But in public.. One would have 290 and still be struggling to get in... Yet, in med schl, no diff between you with 200 and 290.. Any of you could be withdrawn if you dont sit tight.
My point is, try abroad or a private uni in Nigeria, yoyr score is not bad at all, Nigerian factor makes it look like once you dont get high scores, you arent good enough for medicine. Fat lie!
180 and 5credits is enough!(if you do it yourself o) If you are serious, you would pull through.
Dont be discouraged, if you mustvstay in oublic, you got no choice than to study hard to beat the competition of admission..
My brother the thing don nearly tire me..u know how costly naija private unis are..I just checked Ghana unis and their school fees..converted it into naira..mehn no be small thing

How about changing to Dentistry and Dental Surgery?

Most schools have the cut off mark much lower than Medicine and Surgery.

I'm for UNICAL; The cut off last year was 252-merit; Catchment and ELDS are lower.
u know that's a good idea...am trying to get someone to help ...if the opportunity presents itself..I'll choose either pharmacy or dental surgery thanks

I know how you feel....I am in the same situation though I am gradually getting off mine.....I know how people may have mocked u all this while by saying u shld just leave medicine.....263 is a good score what I will advice is for you to change to a less competitive school that conducts post utme at least if u believe in ur self u can score very high and gain the admission or a state university(if u have d money). If u really love and have passion for medicine and u feel u have the ability to do it pls don't give up. remember dat nothing good comes easy, like someone here told me, go for what u want or u will just leave ur whole life in regrets..... but if there is another course u still like, u can still go for it
Hmm..thanks brother..am looking towards either med/surg or pharmacy ..any through which I can really affect people positively through medicine
Education / Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Blackwonder(m): 8:24pm On Jul 04, 2018

God bless you...

Leave them...let them be shouting up & down...

When money is given to a politician to develop the state, the politician will take 60% & move to his offshore account in the US... then use the remaining 40% to develop 1 part of the state...

What if it was that 60% that would change that boys life?

They don't even know if the boy has gone around looking for job but couldn't get any due to the level of corruption in the country... nowadays, it's all about who you know.. your connection...

The annoying thing is that, this same people condemning that boy, will still collect money from him when his hustle pays...

Politicians are there stealing billions of dollars on a daily basis... Nigeria's money... but yet, nobody has said shit...

these politicians are destroying more lives than the yahoo guys.. but yet, we'll still vote them in during the next election...

Exactly.. about the Election.. we just try to pick the lesser of the two evils because all the politicians come with the same general idea of over pumping their bank accounts.. imagine someone having 16 bank accounts!!! 16 !!!

SARS.. cheap psychology.. show some levels of extreme brutality into suspected G boys, instill fear and collect their cash without having to beg.. mission isn't to stop the crime but to get their own share!!

Some people here speak as If they have never tasted real poverty before, what do you expect some that hasn't eaten for two days to do ehn ,even mentioning Steve Jobs Mark Zuckerberg, what you hear is only their success stories and not what they really had to do, they say the end justifies the means, Even their country is by far more developed than Ours.. the politicians that swallow HUGE amounts of money no one can harm dem while dey chill in their AC but when the street boys start every body shouts.. Dont forget if the country was in a better condition ,Not all would be scammers today and if you were in the shoes of some scammers you might do worse !! Self righteous people
