I watched Nigeria 99 FIFA world cup Final between Japan and Spain. I was living in Surulere at that time. My uncle and i trekked to the Lagos National Stadium in Surulere. The stadium was not as full as Asaba stadium during the Athletics championship. That was football oooo, king of sports. Reuben Abati did not see anything good in the Athletics Championship in Asaba. The atmosphere in the Asaba stadium was electric! Deltans were happy. I agree the championship was not devoid of some challenges but Reuben Abati should have balanced his criticism.
