Health / Re: Breaking News: Tanker Falls On Bus Around Ojota Bus Stop by blowthewhistle(m): 2:55pm On Jul 08, 2017
So sad to have lost my friend's dad and her younger brothers in this fatal accident while they were returning from Redemption Camp around 3am. Three members of a family at once is a great loss. May their souls rest in perfect peace. God knows why; He alone knows best. God will give you, your mum and elder brother the fortitude to bear this loss. It is well

Nairaland / General / Message To Bank Eds by blowthewhistle(m): 6:26pm On Jan 27, 2017
Leaders set the standard for organizational culture. What kind of culture are you building? Are you aspiring to be an MD tomorrow? What kind of ED are you today?
An Executive Director who earns and deserves respect, exudes a high sense of moral judgement and upholds the value of integrity.
Or an Executive Dealer who commands fear and demands respect and is the Chief Operating Officer of corruption, injustice and unfair treatment in the workplace.

Nairaland / General / Who Are The Big Five Cats In The Workplace? by blowthewhistle(m): 5:57am On Jan 23, 2017
It baffles me that much effort is being made in changing the work culture to realize the dream of a great place to work yet some organizations are not different from the animal kingdom. Mediocrity has been sacrificed at the expense of merit. Appraisal is not a true test of performance. Promotion is based on favouritism. Once your boss does not like you, you are finished. You need an oga at the top to survive. The common workers are the prey. The bosses are the predators. But even in the animal kingdom, some predators rule the jungle. They are called the big five cats.
So who are the big cats in the workplace? Need your thoughts. ("The Whistleblower" is a daring revelation of the workplace)

Nairaland / General / Nigerians Want To Know Where The Stolen $153million Is by blowthewhistle(m): 8:07am On Jan 21, 2017
On Friday 6th January, 2017, Sahara Reporters and several media reports confirmed that a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos ordered the temporary forfeiture of the sum of $153m money allegedly stolen by former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, from the treasury of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

The stolen funds were stashed in Sterling Bank, First Bank, and Access Bank. A sum of N23billion was kept with Sterling Bank Plc; N9billion was found in First Bank Plc, and $5m was found in an account with Access Bank Plc.

Justice Muslim Hassan gave the order on January 6th, 2017, with a 14-day ultimatum to Sterling Bank Plc and any other interested parties to prove the legitimacy of the monies before his court, else the funds would be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The 14-day ultimatum has expired. Nigerians want to know where their money is now.
Nairaland / General / New Labour Trend In The Banking Industry by blowthewhistle(m): 9:00am On Jan 20, 2017
The corrupt players in the banking industry are moving towards a dangerous trend where 80% of the workforce is outsourced. These outsourced staffers perform the same, sometimes more, functions than the permanent staff, yet are denied the glorious treatment permanent staff enjoy and are the victims of discrimination. Permanent staff are sacked and replaced with outsourced staff who are forced into a jungle of workplace apartheid and modern slavery. No job is safe anymore. Foolishly, the management asks why the outsourced population is not happy at work. Adam's equity theory of motivation says it all. As the pyramid of management stiffens narrowly to the top and the masters of the looters who made the highest gains during the past political era realize that corruption has no place in society, business becomes more volatile and hopes of career growth by permanent staff are being dashed. Rather than sack themselves for throwing the business into a state of emergency, they sack other staff innocently and at the slightest provocation - what a grave malady!
Say no to injustice. Say no to discrimination.

Nairaland / General / Say No To Corruption by blowthewhistle(m): 12:41am On Jan 19, 2017
Here is a piece written by Dennis Ukpabi, that I love and would like to share.
SAY NO TO CORRUPTION
The corrupt people are not only those in power guilty of dishonest and fraudulent conduct.
The corrupt people are not only those Managing Directors and Executive Directors who are guilty of unethical conduct for personal gain.
The corrupt people are not only those who defraud the innocent and cheat the gullible to acquire personal benefit.
The corrupt people are also those who rear their ugly heads in public to defend those who are corrupt.
The corrupt people are those who go behind with strings of overtures to plead on behalf of the corrupt.
The corrupt people are those who indulge in the indecent exercise of fatuous plaints and pleas. They are those who pontificate and tell people to wait for the corrupt people to be their direct reports before they expose them simply because they have eaten the quid pro quo meal and now cannot see right from wrong.
They are those whose fight against corruption sees only the enemy and not the friend.
They are everywhere in the workplace. They are everywhere in the government. They are also in banks and corporate organizations.
Declare against corruption. Blow the whistle today.
Career / Building A Career In A Corrupt Workplace by blowthewhistle(m): 12:31am On Jan 19, 2017
As a former banker, it was difficult to build a career in a bank that was made up of corrupt executive directors. I had a choice to make between watching the corrupt EDs kill the hopes of many careerists and writing and speaking to challenge the corrupt people. I chose the latter and became known as the whistleblower.
What I could never do was say yes to corruption. Never! The corrupt people are not only those who are guilty of corruption but also those who pretend not to see. Say no to corruption so we can realize the dream of a great place to work. I will share a piece written by Dennis Ukpabi, that I love and have adopted.
