Or deadline for the admission upto now, because they have started widthdrawing their admissions because of not paying deposit nor sponsorship letter? How do we go about this issue since the problem is from PTDF, or is it that PTDF will contact them directly for their awardees?

May be they are thinking of Visa duration as in, it will be too late to acquire it as of now, and I don't think they have January intake again, only September for most courses.

If awarded the MSC scholarship, does one need to pay one's school fees first using his/her own money and send them the school fee receipt before they could pay the scholarship amount to one's bank account? What's the fate of those that can't pay the fees by themselves relying solely on the scholarship assuming they must fulfill this condition.

Go get admission letter. UK admission is very easy.

Try University of Salford, Derby and Sunderland for fast admission.

But those are low-class universities but accept 2.2 graduates.

Also, try high competitive admission like Manchester, Imperial, Liverpool, UCL, Newscastle, UoB, Uni of Leeds e.t.c however, those places
might have been filled. Accepts only 2.1 and First class

I received an offer of admission from Uni. Of Liverpool with a partial scholarship. And if eligible, will be automatically awarded more internal scholarships. Was requested to upload evidence of PTDF application and apply for accommodation immediately which I did.

There are still several UK schools offering admissions at the moment. Don't restrict yourself to only the University of Liverpool unless you are a Liverpool fan. Lol

I Will make more applications especially in the field of Environmental sciences which I selected for PTDF scholarship and Uni of Liverpool was my first choice

Although I have up to 3 offers of admission to study MSC Public Health in the UK( Uni. of Aberdeen, Brunel uni. London, and Queen Margaret uni). I am not sure PTDF will accept any of them in case I don't meet up.

I received a conditional offer of admission from the university of Liverpool today. The condition is to upload evidence of a deposit on or before 31st July, 2022. I hope PTDF will release the lists of successful applicants and offer them the award letters before 31st July

PTDF is 400k yearly, plus your school fee. In the final year, an additional 100k.

So basically, it's 400k + school fee yearly. + 200k(laptop for the first payment only).

So you're getting 600k plus school fee for the first payment

It is at your own prerogative to apply to more than two (if possible) in the same year, but you must only choose one if selected for all. Afterwards, you can't apply for the same category of scholarship again.

Also SOP, Research Proposal, Membership and Publication score is given during interview. Some people have fake publication and membership that do not meet the acceptance criteria.

I only used my Waec results for the application. However during interview, the interviewers asked me to give them both my Waec and Neco, but I told them I didn't use my Neco for the application. They insisted that if I have my Neco I should still give them so they may pick the best results from the two.

I am tempted to ask this; if the software had graded the Waec results and the panel is only verifying, why did they ask of my Neco to pick the best scores from both Waec and Neco results knowing well that I didn't use the Neco results for the application (and was not graded by the software)?

Getting this scholarship borders on grace/luck. The competition is very stiff. In my state for UK PhD there are 50 candidates and 23 candidates for GFM PhD. And from past lists, there would be 2-3 successful scholars from each group.

I have to share my interview experience, it was bad, I mean very bad but wasn't my fault anyway.

So I went in to meet a 2-man panel. They were of course other panels having 3 persons but when it was my turn, it was the panel with 2 persons that were empty and had requested for an applicant. I was feeling lucky believing I had 2 persons to deal with without knowing it was a bad omen for me.

So they checked all my documents, everything was fine, I had everything with me, but not the panelist. So when it was time for me to present, all hell broke loose. I couldn't believe they were people in this generation and a professor in that matter that haven't heard of nuclear. The very moment I mentioned Nuclear (it doesn't matter how I want to apply the nuclear), he stopped me and said "Nuclear in this Nigeria??" The professor was a very old man with little or no knowledge of the current research. I mentioned the use of Monte Carlo Neutron Transport Codes, but he head of only Monte Carlo and chuckled, saying it was what they used 40-50 years ago Haba, Prof. Calm down and listen nah, but he wasn't having any of it.

I mentioned nuclear waste management, and cleaning of oil spillage, he interrupted me and questioned how can I be mentioning nuclear waste in energy management. He even questioned if nuclear has waste? Jesus, I couldn't believe what happened yesterday. It was very funny anyway.

So that was how it went yesterday. It was bad with Prof. But then you don't blame him, Prof. didn't believe Ajaokuta steel can work, he said I should forget about what the government was saying that its a scam and just a consultancy project. He was very proud, but I reminded him that the reason why Geregu powerplant was sited very close to Ajaokuta was to supply electricity to the plant. I told him everything he needs to be convinced but then, his mind was made up and I can't change that. Prof. didn't know that Nigeria currently produce 4000MWe of electricity, when I told him that he said it was not true, I told him to check the internet.

He said the only thing that the government should do is to produce energy from Gas, and that Gas is a clean source of energy. We went to Germany where he mentioned that they shut down all their reactors and I told him that they were importing 34% of their electricity demand from France, he said it wasn't true, I told him it was and that the internet is there for him to check. And now asked him what he thinks Germany will do now with the Ukraine Was and stoppage of the gas flow, he got the point anyway.

Well, it was bad with Prof. but the second guy was amazed though openly didn't want to disagree with Prof. manner, so when Prof. went to fetch his tea, we had a good discussion and he even told me to wait and greet Prof. before I leave.

In summary, it wasn't smooth but then, there is nothing to worry about. If I get it fine, if I didn't get it, next year, I will meet prof. again.

From a psychological point of view, I must say you did well by holding on to what you know as truth. Sometimes, an interviewer might intentionally wish to test your level of confidence and knowledge of a subject matter by resorting to playing "mind games" to see if you will back off.

You have nothing to fear.

An email was sent. The portal was reopened for those shortlisted for a period of time to update their information. If you were able to update your information then, it meant you were shortlisted even without receiving the first email.

I think that your humble opinion is flawed because there is no one path we know that PTDF follows. Just because a person was grilled does not mean that they will secure the scholarship. Just do your best and pray for favor and grace

That's your opinion. You could be grilled but still fail depending on your performance. No one is saying being grilled automatically awards you the scholarship. My opinion was in regards to the fact that some people don't spend up to one or two minutes and others were asked just a question.

It depends on the type of panels. But I still hold on to my opinion that you might likely spend more time being interviewed if you SOP/Research is enriched and beneficial to Oil and gas but this does not mean you will be awarded the scholarship- It is one's performance that speaks. If you think my opinion is flawed then that's your business. Thank God you said "there is no one path we know PTDF follows. So my opinion is just among the numerous probabilities. We must not have same interview experience

You were lucky they asked you about your credentials, documents and work experience.
I think this really helped you clinched the MSc.

But in some centres, most people have all these but they were just asked one question and no one asked about their credentials. Looks like formality.

The panelists should be consistent. I agree with your Abuja suggestion. Good luck in PhD.
Hope you know PTDF have now agreed on giving "No objection" letter. This is unlike before.

It is not just unfair but unusual not to ask of applicants credentials. I did not have any publication and they did not ask me of it, probably because their system shows I did not have it. I was asked of my SOP, Professional membership (had 2) and my academic certificates which I had all.

However, I think if your SOP or Research is enriched with great content and you demonstrate a good knowledge of it and how beneficial it is to the Oil and gas sector, you will probably be asked a lot of questions and have a lengthy interview session.

I don't think spending just one or two minutes or being asked just one or two questions during the interview is a good omen.

Just my humble opinion----I was exhaustively grilled by those friendly interviewers.
