let him just indicate it in the form, that he has been banned before, from uk, but no need for a LOE, since the ban was 12 years ago, the ban would have finished by now, the highest uk ban i have seen asides from the life ban, is the 10 years one, so your Friend doesn't need to worry about anything. if you cook up the business something, you would have to provide evidence that your business does exist, biz reg documents, tax number, biz acct, linkedin presence and the lot. if you do not a business thats registered my advice is dont bother cooking anything up. i was in the same boat as you, i had previous work experience from 2011-2014 in 2 different NOC, i only used one of them and put unemployed from 2017-2018, even though i had a registered business, and i never got an ADR. pls avoid stories that touch, do not lie and get urself banned. my 2 cents sha johnnybravo1990: 3 Likes |

i feel that should be fine, my bank account statement didnt have the date my account was opened either and i got ppr, but to settle your nerves go to your bank and ask them what document can you get that shows the date your account was opened, then attach that document with your bank statement and letter of indebtedness into one single pdf file, that should suffice. i hope that helps Yungblood87: 1 Like |

why didnt you go to the Ikeja high court to have it done there ? honestly in my opinion that would have been a better option, its very easy to do, and u even get receipts and the high court logo and stamps on the paper, on the gift deed, which in my opinion makes it more authentic. there are even guys there that will help you type it very well and make it look professional, and you only need your mother to sign, no need for a witness. if memory serves me right i dont think lawyers have the capacity to sign sworn affidavits, which i think is what a gift deed is. elders may know better sha HTGAWM: 2 Likes |

i understand why you would say that, but the info i gave was posted in the living in canada page, which i presume is a sister forum to this one. the link is >>>> immigrationcanada(dot)pro/permanent-residence/maintain-permanent-residence-living-overseas/ if you would kindly check the link out you would see thats what it states there, unless if the rules have changed now. raphrulz: |

I would advice against doing this, my reason being Canada has a rule that u must have been physically living in Canada for 270 days or so for you not to loose ur permanent residency. So. If u apply and get ppr and ur course doesn't finish till 4 months after you soft land, chances are you will. Loose your ppr. Unless if u plan on switching from the US uni to a Canada one then soft landing is a good idea. joo2018: 1 Like |

if memory serves me correctly you would need a transcript and certificate from your uni in US, since you can only get that when you finish i would say wait till your in the final 6 months of your masters completion, before you write IELTS, you would also need to get a PCC for US, and i heard getting police clearance from the FBI isnt beans, heard it takes a while, so realistically you would need to apply after your masters is done if you plan on using your second degree. my advice would be to practice your writing skills and then write the IELTS exam, if you get decent scores then use your masters in Nigeria to enter the pool. thats what i feel sha, maybe the elders in the house can shed more light ConfirmD: |

It's PPR! Sorry for the delay in dropping this, it’s been a long hectic week My timeline ITA: July 25, 2018 AOR: Sept 3, 2018 Biometrics: Sept 26, 2018 RPRF Mail: Nov 20,2018 PPR: Dec 18 Visa office: Ottawa IELTS: First attempt (FEB 10) LSRW 8.5,8.5,8.5,7.5 POF: used my savings account, and gift deed from my parents, and a simple LOE explaining that My story I got deported from the UK, naa scam lawyer do me, lawyer never submitted my residence application but kept taking my money, I only found out when I got picked up, out of the blue, but it is well. Sharing this in case anyone is on this thread and wondering if being deported from another country other than Canada affects one’s chances of obtaining PPR from Canada, it doesn’t!!! Immediately I touched down in Nigeria, I gave myself a month to wallow, and by Jan 2018, I began the EE process, I paid for IELTS and wrote in Jan, I used WES to verify my Masters Degree from the UK, it was straightforward and easy for me sha, not sure why ppl nowadays complain of WES?. I didn’t need to verify my BSc. Thanks to this forum. POF was an almighty struggle, rejected my first ITA because I couldn’t get the complete POF, but I didn’t give up, I reapplied again and put double effort to get the POF sorted, I only used a simple savings account, gift deed, and LOE explaining the huge chunk inflow in a short time. OH and yes I did say during my application that I was deported before, and I explained the reasons and submitted proof in my LOE, and it ended in praise, Thank God. MY ADVICE; 1. Don’t lie, Canada runs checks before and after you get your PPR. 2. Try and make your LOE as simple and straight to the point as possible 3. I used a pdf creator to arrange my documents, I also named each document with my name express entry number and what document it was e.g Lagbaja LOE 12345789.pdf 4. One thing I have realised is the easier you make it for an Officer to read your application the quicker it gets approved. I thank God for everything. 94 Likes 6 Shares |

has anyone been to the vfs center in lekki recently? i heard the cost has increased to 20,230 Naira? is that true ? i have checked page 1 by the way, it says 14,320 or so, but am seeing somewhere else the price has changed, so i am thinking maybe some of the process has changed. if you could give a brief storyline of what to expect, that would be helpful |

hi guys, i havent gotten my ppr but i am going by faith that i will soon, so i just wanna ask a couple of questions, so i know what i am getting myself into. Brief introduction about me, i am single, i have a masters degree in telecoms engineering, a Bsc in Chem and a diploma in IT, i did my masters in UK, and i lived there for 4 years, so i quite used to the cold a lil bit. 1. what province is the best to settle in ? i am thinking of Toronto, but i wanna get you guys take first before making that decision. 2. do i have to convert all my POF to foreign currency before boarding a plane to Canada? 3. what advice and tips can you guys give me, and what support system is available to fresh immigrants in canada? i ask these questions because i do not want to make the same mistake i made when i first got to the UK, took me along time to adjust to life there, and u can imagine i lost alot of money on unnecessary spending. |

hi people, for those struggling with ielts, first of all its not your fault, our education system is really bad, the english i was taught in secondary school is definitely not what is been spoken in the outside world. one very useful tip i can give anyone is to watch a bit more foreign drama movies or series, and not just watch, try to follow the story and understand what each cast or character is saying, get subtitles also, as this will help a great deal with listening as well as some parts of reading. Another advice is please guys try and simulate a testing environment as much as you can, get a quiet room, a bench and a chair, and also time yourself, try and do these at least twice a week, that way you train ur mind to adapt to the testing conditions quicker, i have been writing PBT and CBT for a long time as an IT person, and i realized practicing questions in a simulated testing environment really does help. and finally this might sound stupid, but trust me it helps, please read the instructions carefully, i have realized from experience that taking time out to read instructions calms the mind, before u commence any section take 2-3 min to relax ur mind, read the instructions, breathe, trust me when i say those 3 mins u take out to calm urself will save you alot more time than if you just rust rush into the questions from the get go. 13 Likes |

your probably calling them at their peak times, my advice is call them around between 4-5 pm our time, and try not to call them when they on lunch break, or towards 4 pm Canadian time, cos most of the customer reps would be closing their tickets at these times nairalandnewbie: 1 Like 1 Share |
