15 ERRORS OF A SELF-STYLED APOSTLE CALLED JOSHUA SELMAN

Error 1 There is no dominion in poverty

The above statement betrays his misunderstandin

g of the nature of the Christian's dominion from the New Testament perspective.

Jesus Christ came for one purpose, and that is to save us from our sins.

Read John 1:29

" The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."

Read Matthew 1:21

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins."

Read also Mathew 26:28, Romans 3:25

Jesus did not die to make us rich. Many people were rich before Christ came. Many are rich who don't love Christ or care about Him.

The nature of the Christian dominion is the victory over sin.

Romans 6:14 says :

"For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace."

In the early church era, most people were poor. Can we say they did not have dominion? No. They were not thinking of dominion in terms of affluence.

In 2 Corinthians 8:1-3, Paul said the churches of Macedonia were in deep poverty. The likes of Selman would say those brethren had no dominion because they were poor. But God does not think so.

Error 2: People choose to be poor or rich

Selman gleefully quotes Proverbs 22: 2.

See it:

" The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all."

He misinterprets it to mean that people choose their conditions in life. First off, the verse does not mean that. The verse is simply saying that both the rich and the poor are made by God. The implication of this is that the rich should not despise the poor while the poor should not resent the rich as they are both made by God.

While it is true that some people become poor because they are lazy and not smart, others wallow in poverty because of failure of government. Yet, there are people who are poor because God in His sovereignty allowed it.

Read 1 Samuel 2:7

"The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up."

Who caused Job to become poor? Was it not God that permitted Satan to afflict Job?

Yes, God allows poverty in the lives of some of His children. And He does it to try their faith or accomplish noble purposes in their lives.

Error 3: Abraham made impact because he was rich while Lazarus couldn't because he was poor

True, Abraham was rich. But scripturally, is his impact on his generation and generations after him , measured by his wealth or by his faith, righteousness, humility and commitment to God? Will Selman and his co- travellers stop handling the word of God dishonestly?

Peter, Paul and others were not rich, yet the impact of their strides in the kingdom, is still felt today. At least 13 of the books written by Paul are still with us today. Please, run away from Selman's warped theology.

In the Old Testament, Elijah, a poor prophet made more impact than all the rich people of his time.

How much did John the Baptist have? Yet his level of impact on the conscience of many of those who listened to him was great.

4: Error 4: Inconsistency

Selman quoting Proverbs 22:2 has earlier said people choose their economic conditions. But quoting verse 7, he admits the rich can manipulate the economy to subjugate the poor.

5: Error 5: Irrelevant analogy

There is no correlation between Proverbs 22:7 and one having the whole world and losing their soul. Can people just learn to stay within contexts when exegeting the scriptures? And why he calls Jesus a businessman beats me. This is totally irrelevant.

Error 6: Poverty and Wisdom do not go hand in hand

This is total rubbish. Wealth is not always a function of wisdom. And not every form of poverty is a consequence of lack of wisdom.

In fact anyone who fears God regardless of what their financial status,is wise( Proverbs 2:1-5).

Error 7: A totally horrible misinterpretation of Ecclesiastes 9:13-15

These verses tell the story of a poor wise man who with his wisdom delivered a city from a looming attack, but he is not remembered or appreciated for his exploit. Selman interprets it to mean that wisdom is not enough as one needs to be financially buoyant to pass their message to the world.

But the verses have nothing to do with possessing money. The passage is telling us about the carnality of men and how they despise even the poor who have served or are serving the society.

Hear Proverbs 8:11

" For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it."

According to the bible, wisdom is better than wealth. Do you hear, Selman?

It may be argued that, money is needed to support the spread of the gospel. But in the early church which was made up of mostlypoor people, the work of the ministry was still funded. Poor brethren contributed from their meagre resources to support ministers.

Error 8- Prosperity played a role in salvation. It took prosperity and Influence for salvation to come.

This is the blindest and most blasphemous of the utterances made by Selman. In making a case for his perverted prosperity gospel, Selman says angels couldn't bring Jesus down from the cross. It was Joseph of Arimathea, a man on influence and prosperity that could reach the governor to demand the body of Christ.

The implication of this most foolish statement is that Joseph played a role in our salvation. Joseph's influence and prosperity made our salvation complete. Jesus would have remained on the cross and may not have resurrected. Joseph helped Jesus to fulfill His plan of redemption. Joseph is now our Deputy Saviour.

In reality, Joseph was just a lover of Jesus who thought to give him a "befitting" burial. He was not more special or more relevant than the women who went with spices to his grave to anoint his body. If Joseph was not available, Jesus would still have resurrected.

Would it make sense to say virginity played a role in our salvation because Mary the earthly mother got pregnant with him when she was a virgin?

Selman is treading on a dangerous ground. Somebody should tell him.

Error 9: The Gospel is heavy; it takes wealth as an ark-bearer to lift it.

This assertion is a total lie. The gospel thrived in the early church era without the majority of the believers being rich. In Iran today where Christians are being persecuted and are treated less than second class citizens, the gospel is being preached and reaches people faster than it does in prosperous America. Wealth is not the ark bearer of the gospel. What we need is the power of the Holy Spirit.

10: If you are not at a certain level of economic empowerment you will not hear certain instructions from God

Selman's God must be different from the real God of the Bible. Selman's God speaks to people based on their economic power. Selman's God cherishes the rich more than the poor. Nothing in the scriptures supports this lie.

11. God gave Pharaoh a dream that he couldn't give Jacob and others because the Egyptian king was a man of influence. God had to search until he found Pharaoh.

But what was Pharaoh without Joseph? Pharaoh' s dream was nothing without the interpretation of Joseph who was at the time not a man on influence.

God does what He likes the way He likes but it seems this Selman wants us to believe that God respected the position and power of Pharaoh so much.

12. God cannot tell you to build a school if you are not rich enough

George Muller who was not a rich man, ran an orphanage. Sometimes, there would be no food. He would pray in faith and provision would come. Can someone tell Selman to stop speaking rubbish?

13. I will never pastor people who love God but are mediocres(sic)

In Selman's theology what makes a man a mediocrity is that he is not rich. But God is looking for people who are rich in grace. God who owns the heaven and the earth, is not wowed by the riches that men have.

14. Hunger( Poverty) will make the people of God to compromise ( go to Egypt).

Paul faced lack many times. He said he knew about having and lacking. He said He could do all things through Christ ( Philippians 4:13). He didn't draw his strength from wealth but Christ.

Error 15: If you have money and passion for God you have destroyed Satan.

So many believers have passion for God without being rich and they are enjoying victory over Satan.

On February 6 of this year, I put up a three-part series of articles titled, "15 Errors Of A Self-Styled Apostle Called Joshua Selman."

Although, I painstakingly refuted the lies of Joshua Selman by mostly appealing to the scriptures, not a few of his fans, many of whom were probably still wearing diapers when I was already an adult, reacted angrily and rudely. Most of them could not make even the feeblest attempts to disprove my points.

And the polite ones among them tried to convince me that he was not all bad but had preached some sound sermons also.

This is the kind of love that young people have for Joshua Selman, a dangerous human weapon unleashed on the church by Satan. The love they have for this man trumps the one they have for God and His sound doctrines.

But why are his followers, who are mostly youths the supposed leaders of tomorrow, obsessed with this man who has many times demonstrated in a number of his teachings that he is carrying out an Antichrist agenda? Why can't they see what God has made some of us to see? Reason: he has a few strategies which are very appealing.

1. Charisma

Give it to him, Selman is physically good-looking. He has a magnetic presence. He has a good command of English. He dresses well. He is not some illiterate village preacher with a staid appearance. He is that kind of person who stands out in a crowd. He is the man, no, the rave of the moment. But are these the qualities that make a genuine preacher? No, sir.

The Bible says in Proverbs 31:30A; " Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain."

2. Sophistry

Sophistry is an argument that seems valid but truly fallacious or misleading. I do not know any preacher that employs sophistry more than Selman. He would pick a Bible verse or story, ignore the context, create his own context, give an interpretation and make an application that fits his agenda of deception. Sometimes, he would say things that leave you with no choice but to conclude that he is an enemy of the cross.

Permit me to share an example of this by quoting from one of my articles about him.

3. Oratory

There is nothing bad in God's natural gift of oratory. It only becomes corrupted when it is used to serve Satanic ends. Selman has a way with words. He knows how to artfully string simple words to make them sound pleasant to the ears. He speaks authoritatively on issues. But when his words are scripturally scrutinised, they are just hollow. They are absolute rubbish.

4. Self-concocted mysteries

Selman has a fertile imagination. If he had deployed that gift into fiction writing, he would most probably have written a few bestseller novels. What he, however, does is that he wickedly manipulates the scriptures and then weaves them into his own invented doctrines. Selman says there are times the personal faith of a believer will not suffice, so they need to operate in the special covenant a "higher" believer has with God to get a breakthrough. FICTION!

In the Bible there are only two covenants God has had with men; the abolished old testament and the new covenant God has with his saints which is sealed with the blood of Jesus. Some people might say, Selman's teaching is just an innocent error. No.

Let me tell you the implication. The Devil is using Selman to convince New Testament saints that their personal salvation is not enough. He is teaching them not only to look unto Jesus the author and finisher of their faith but also the supposed fathers of faith. He is teaching believers to fall into idolatry.

Selman, in a video, said, Lagos and Abeokuta were special in the spiritual realms, hence, anyone in Nigeria whose feet had not touched those two cities would not be recognised globally. FICTION!

Aside from this being an unscriptural lie, how does this statement have anything to do with preaching Christ and His finished work? As believers, Is achieving global fame our aim on earth? Why are Selman and his fellow liars so obsessed with wealth and fame?

5. Fake deep spiritual understanding

As Selman bedazzles his awestruck listeners and fans about talks of realms, mysteries and kingdom wealth transfer, he assumes the figure of one who has been given a rare capacity to understand and unravel hidden spiritual secrets. But in truth, he only employs verbosity, sophistry and circumlocution to give a sense of depth to his very shallow and mindbogglingly heretical teachings.

6. Blend of truth and falsehood

In defence of Selman, there are people who admit that though he is sometimes wrong, he also teaches sound doctrines. This argument seems plausible but only on the surface. It is true that many of us ( including this writer) have made doctrinal mistakes. But when the doctrinal error is one that affects the core of the Christian faith and such is taught by a preacher repeatedly; when the ungodly mindset of a preacher seeps through his sermons; when the gospel and its consequential truths are regularly manipulated by a preacher; when a preacher's doctrines subtly or directly exalt man above God; when a preacher with his teachings pokes his hands in God's face, then he becomes a weapon in the hands of Satan.

A preacher who blends a little truth with toxic falsehood, is more dangerous than the one who teaches only lies.

Selman is inarguably the most dangerous religious weapon in Nigeria now because there is no other preacher ( genuine and false) who has a greater hold on the hearts of young people like him. Like I said, in one of my earlier posts, he is the one being used by Satan to produce a new generation of Antichrists.

While I pray that God deliver as many as He would among these youths from the Selmanic stronghold ( stranglehold), I also exhort brethren whom God is using to draw our hearts to Him, not to keep quiet.

We must keep on denouncing evil. And we must increase our efforts in teaching sound doctrines.

I was born a Muslim, I finished the Quran, and was a very serious and devoted Muslim.

My salvation story started one afternoon, after my Arabic Teacher(Alfa) came to Arabic school with anger, and asked all of us to stop what we were doing.

My Alfa told us that their were some Christians around our environment having a crusade, and for Allah's sake we were going there to stop them. He asked us to pick stones and canes, so as to stone and beat them out of the crusade ground.

We were taught that every form of Jehad has a blessing attached to it, for those that will go without being afraid to die during the fight.

So, I thought it an opportunity to fight for Allah, and if I perish, I perish.

We all gathered, I personally picked 5 stones, and my intention was to stone whosoever it was on the pulpit by the time we got there... My mates can stone the congregation.

We got there, and the ministration was ongoing by an evangelist. As my mates started stoning people, I faced the preacher, threw the first stone which he dodged, as I threw the second, it hit his forehead and by the time I released the third, he said "the person that threw that stone at me will not be at rest until he becomes what I am". Then he dropped the microphone and ran away.

Humm... I said; "me, Alfa Sodiq will be a Pastor?" (by the way, my name then was Sodiq)... I laughed... And we left the place... Humm.

I didn't know that the man had released something powerful upon my life by that declaration.

We got back home that night feeling fulfilled...

.

But little did I know that a time bomb has been set upon my life.

That same day, in the middle of the night, I heard my name being called.

I was afraid, I thought it was a ghost.

I asked him who he was.. He said "A Friend and helper"... Humm... I can't forget that reply.

He told me not to be afraid, that he's a friend not an enemy. That night, I started a journey of friendship with this calm and gentle unseen personality...

To cut the story short. The unseen voice continued to speak to me like people talk to one another from that day on.

I got used to the voice, he tells me things before it happens. He became my closest friend. Humm..

. I can still feel the impact of the voice during those period.

One day at Arabic school.. He said to me "Sodiq, You don't belong here".

I asked him where I belonged,.. He didn't reply me.

There was a blind man that was our neighbour then who was a Christian, every Sunday he needed someone to take him to church, because his Children didn't have his time.

One Sunday he pleaded with me to take him to church, I took permission from my Dad, and promised him not to listen to whatever they will say at the Church.

I took him to church that Sunday, dropped Him at adult church, and went to children's church.

On getting to children's church, I saw the way they gave children biscuits and sweets as they read the bible. I was shocked to see people reading the bible and collecting sweets and biscuits for it. Whereas, where I was coming from, it's cane. I felt this was a good place to be. They even gave me food that day. I saw love. Humm...

My friend that used to speak to me said "This is where you belong". Humm. That was how my Christian journey started.

After that Sunday service

When I got back home, I was a little bit worried. I discovered that all what my Alfa taught us about Christians were lies.

Humm. I convinced my Dad to allow me take the baba to church regularly on Sundays. I also promised him that I will not give attention to any of their teachings.

Anytime I take baba to church. I was always happy, church was like a place of peace and great calm. I am always happy anytime I'm in church but I didn't disclose this fact to anyone at the time.

Gradually, the Sunday school teachings started having impact on me. It was difficult for me to do what I used to do, because I desired to please God.

My Dad started noticing this, but he was not talking.

One day, I was playing with some of my friends in the community. I mistakenly threw a stone to the other compound, and the stone hit a boy in the compound. Meanwhile, in the ghetto we usually cooperate .

The mother came to our place with blood on her child's head asking for the person that threw the stone. Everyone said they don't know.

I remembered being taught in Sunday school that God doesn't like people that tell lies. So I said it was me. All my friends were angry. The woman then said she will come to see my Dad when he gets back in the evening. By the time my dad got back, our neighbours had explained everything, and my dad told me that by the time she comes I should tell her that it wasn't me. Humm.

In my heart, I don't want to offend God.

The woman came, and my dad asked if I was the one, I said yes . The woman collected the money for the treatment of the boy from my dad.

Humm. After she left, my dad beat me and said "I Hope you are not into what they call Christianity? I denied.

By the way, my mum left my dad when I was 5 years old and I happened to be the fourth born of the five of us my mother gave birth to. She left the 5 of us with my dad to marry another man. Our Last born was 3 years old at the time.

Because of our last born, my dad remarried, and he married a woman that has given birth to six children, who unlike my mum, came with her six children. My two (2) elder brothers and my elder sister left because they couldn't cope with our step mom. I was left with my younger brother.

By this time my step mother was happy my Dad was beating me.

After that night, my dad started observing me.

My dad wasn't that devoted a Muslim but he wanted his children to be committed.

He also believed, in traditional religion, so some times he comes home with fetish things.

Most time he comes home with some soup prepared by his herbalist. In most cases he eats the soup in the middle of the night when everyone would have slept. In case any of us was still awake, he has a powder he releases into the air that will make everyone go into deep sleep.

He came home with one of such soup one night, and blew the powder in the air so everyone will go into deep sleep. Everyone slept but I was still awake without him knowing, (as at this time I was used to Christians ways of praying, I'd given myself to serious prayer) he naked himself and carried the soup on his right hand. He has a pepper with him also, and he stood on his right leg, lifting the left leg up.

As he was about eating the soup, the pepper with him fell on the floor, (instead of pretending I was sleeping) I quickly picked it and raised it to him.

He could not talk. He was doing as if he was told not to talk, so I dropped the pepper inside the pot he was carrying, and I went back to sleep.

The following morning he was angry, he told me that I will be following him somewhere. Humm. I followed him.

We arrived at one old building, and I was asked to stay outside, after few minutes my dad asked me to come inside.

As I entered I saw an old man(his herbalist). The man shouted and asked my Dad to take me out immediately, that I was a strange child, that he's seeing fire all over my body. Humm .

My dad sent me out. I went out waiting for him, not knowing what they discussed after I went out. After few minutes he came out with an angry face. He grabbed my hand and started dragging me towards home.

Later that night he asked me who I was and why have I been behaving strange lately. I didn't reply.

After some weeks, I lost interest in Arabic school

A nurse was caught carrying a newborn baby boy far from the hospital where she works and she was confronted by passersby who accused her of stealing the baby.



The nurse was seen standing by the side of the road, carrying a newborn baby boy with the placenta still intact. She claimed she was waiting for the woman who owns the baby.

However, bystanders didn’t believe her. They asked her to call the woman who gave birth to the baby on the phone, adding that they will not let her go until they see the woman she claims is the baby’s mother.

The spectators told her she stole the baby from the hospital and wants to sell it. But she insisted that she didn’t.



The man filming is heard saying that the nurse has no right to take a newborn baby out of the hospital compound and the only explanation for the nurse’s action is that she plans to sell the child.

When interrogated, the nurse said she works at Mother of Mercy Hospital & Maternity Okpoko.

Eyewitnesses claim she was on her way to sell the baby at Upper Iweka by Owerri Road in Onitsha.

Eyewitnesses warned that parents of newborns should be extra vigilant to avoid a situation whereby they are told that their baby has died, whereas the baby was stolen to be sold to a child trafficking ring.

They are Yakubu Bala Dagan, 33, and Emmanuel Obughor, 30.



Police Commissioner, Hafiz Inuwa, announced the arrest to newsmen in Asaba on Monday.

He disclosed that the duo were apprehended at their hideout at DSC Expressway, Igbogidi in Udu council.



Inuwa said one Stephen Oyibare, a vigilance leader, reported the matter at a police station.

“That two suspected ritualists pretending to be of unsound mind were accosted under the DSC Expressway Bridge. Upon a search, the suspects were found with suspected human bones,” he said.

Items recovered included nine human bones, 15 used baby pads, a pair of skating shoes and a red-brownish powdered substance wrapped in three black polythene bags.

Others are a sack containing clothing, documents and two voter cards belonging to one of the suspects.

CP Inuwa added that the suspects were coherent in their speech at the time of arrest.

Oyo Islamic cleric, Taofeeq Akeugbagold shares photos of his worker who allegedly masterminded the kidnap of his twins




Renowned Oyo Islamic cleric, Taofeeq Akeugbagold has outed one of his workers who he alleges is the mastermind of the kidnap of his twins.



The cleric took to his Facebook page to share of his worker —identified as Opeyemi ibraheem Agbenuso Odo— who according to Akeugbagold, manages the social media aspect of his Ramadan lecture and was picked to attend the 2020 Hajj.



Akeugbagold went on to reveal that he promised to finance the suspect’s wedding in December, till he found out that he had a hand in the abduction of his twins who have been rescued by the police.



He wrote,



Alhamdulillah ! Allah has bear me witness that i worship Him only.This is Opeyemi ibraheem Agbenuso odo a casual worker under me who is handling social media aspects of my Ramadan lecture.
He was the BETRAYAL who organised and masterminded the Kidnapping. He so much warmed himself into my heart that till 3days ago we do break fast together on the same plate,him only.

I believe he’s full of wisdom and i penciled him down for HAJJ 2020 with promise to finance his wedding 100% in December. Is it a crime to be nice to an highly talented but jobless young man ? Have you ever have air hunger , looking for air to breath but it seems far away… and my heart beat was out of control. That was how I was from 25th April to 2nd May, 2020. That was the severe type of COVID-19. My case was critical but God was there, He preserved and kept me as always.

This is summary of my COVID-19 experience

I was exposed, I went on self Isolation for 14 days, Within those 14 days, I got tested, my result came out on 27 th April , 2020, I was called by NCDC representative to get my things ready. I never had symptoms until 16 day when I noticed I couldn’t breath I have to sit all through the night.

Due to NCDC late response, I was evacuated the 3rd day with worsening cases to the first Isolation centre in Lekki. The next day, I was dying but thank God for my Friend, Lola who raised alarm( I never knew we were in the same centre until that morning).I was placed on Oxygen and transferred to Yaba Isolation Centre. While admitting me, I was told by the Doctor that if my condition worsen, I will be transferred to ICU,Intensive Care Unit. Thank God, I never went there.

I was on Oxygen for 5 days, but God delivered me on the six day. I read about a study that if you lie prone, that is lying on your stomach with head of the bed raised, helped patients with COVID-19 who has breathing problem recover fast so I did it and it helped me sleep better if not, I have to sit down throughout the night. Also, some breathing exercises helped me a lot to inflate my lungs, I spent 17 days in Isolation centre, I was discharged yesterday, 14th May, 2020 having tested Negative.

I sincerely want to appreciate the Love of my life, Samuel Peter, my Love for the part he played in speeding up my transfer to Yaba, his prayers strengthened my faith to hold on despite death knocking on my path, You’re one in a billion. Some guys would have disappeared at the mention of COVID-19…kikikikk…Lol

But he stood by my side, all through and always brightened my day, I love you dearly, thank you.

A 21-year-old man kidnapped and murdered by jealous friend in Imo; body discovered in Anambra

A 21-year-old young man, identified as Micah Isaiah but also known as Leo Wire has reportedly been killed by his friend —an ex-militant— out of jealously.

According to reports surrounding Isaiah’s death, he was murdered on May 12th around Willow Wood hotel in Owerri, Imo state’s capital.

Isaiah was reported to be close friends with his murderer —a supposed ex-militant— who hired some men to kidnap Isaiah after Isaiah acquired a Lexus SUV.

It’s reported that Isaiah’s friend became jealous after he bought his new car. This prompted him to kidnap Isaiah with the aid of other men who disguised themselves in military uniforms.

They forced him into “unidentified cars without plate numbers” and drove him along with his car to Anambra, where they held him hostage and demanded N4million as ransom.

Isaiah’s abductors contacted his younger brother to pay the ransome but he couldn’t afford it as he had just buried their mother — a burial Leo didn’t attend because he had been abducted.


When the men didn’t receive the ransom, they emptied Leo’s account and then killed him.

It’s reported that one of the suspects was caught while making plans to sell Isaiah’s Lexus-350 SUV. With this, they informed the SARS division in Owerri, who took action and tracked his phone, his car, and the bank account the money was transferred into.

One of the kidnappers was nabbed in the process who then took the SARS operatives to the bush where Leo’s body was dumped.


The kidnapper —Isaiah’s friend— who had on a Nigerian military sweater, confessed to the crime and revealed he was once a soldier and was dismissed in 2018. He then went on to name his accomplices, one of whom he says is also a soldier.

He confessed that they accused Isaiah of being a fraudster before they apprehnded him. He added that he and his accomplices used a huge stone to kill Leo and thereafter poured a substance on him.


The suspect said,

“We arrested him in the name that he’s a Yahoo boy. So, we collected his car. Emmanuel and Ifeanyi Nwiwu used this stone to kill him. Emmanuel, the one who is… and Ifeanyi who is a soldier in Makurdi, used this stone to kill this man.”

“You were once a soldier, abi?” one of the SARS officers asked the suspect.

He responded: “Yes, I was once a soldier. I was dismissed in 2018.”

Leo’s remains have since been deposited in a morgue after being dead for 12 days

The Bauchi State Commissioner for Health, Dr Aliyu Maigoro, says 12 medical officers in the state have been infected with coronavirus.

Maigoro made the disclosure at a news conference on Saturday in Bauchi.

He, however, said that no death had been recorded so far amongst all the affected medical officers.

“As at today, we have 12 medical officers in the whole of Bauchi state who have been infected with COVID-19.

“Six of them are in Azare, headquarters of Katagum Local Government Council of the state, while others are here in Bauchi

“Let me, however, tell you that we have not recorded any death among these medical workers,” the commissioner said.

While speaking on patients fleeing isolation centres in some states, Maigoro said the state’s surveillance team had a link with other states, saying this would make it easier to trace and take such people back to isolation centres.

“We have a link between Bauchi and other states; our surveillance team has a link; if you escape, they will give us your contact, which we will use to trace you.

“There is inter-state synergy; we have just apprehended a contact from Taraba State, who came to Bauchi and he is being isolated.

“Wherever you are, once we have your address, we are going to get you, because if we don’t, you are going to infect other people in the community,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the state has 117 confirmed cases, with six discharged and 111 active cases.

2020 UTME/DE Candidates To Be Accorded Preference in Obtaining NIN

Following the decision of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to have all prospective UTME/DE Candidates enrol for the National Identification Number (NIN) before registering for 2020 UTME/DE examination, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has directed its enrollment centres nationwide to give preference to applicants who will be taking the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)/Direct Entry (DE) examinations.

The announcement was made by the NIMC DG/CEO Engr. Aliyu Aziz at the NIMC headquarters, Abuja.

He stated that this move is in pursuant to the collaboration between the Commission and the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to make the NIN a compulsory requirement for all applicants wishing to sit for the 2020 UTME/DE Examinations which is also in line with the enforcement of the mandatory use of the NIN as provided in the NIMC ACT of 2007.

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) Admission Screening Exercise (Post UTME) for 2019/2020 Academic Session will take place between Monday 5th August, 2019 and Monday 12th August, 2019 in designated centres within Ugbowo Campus of the University.
