SALES ALERT
Get//Initiated//king
Brokered sale
SP: $1000
Sale Venue: Dan
Outbounded and sold with 4 hours.

I feel like I should share the story behind this sale. Someone might a thing or two from it.
So I am on my laptop, sending mails to end-users make them buy my domains, as usual. And then someone (in Canada) I contacted via their website contact form responds, (please don't joke with website contact forms, especially if you don't see any emails) He says He is not interested in domain name but he has a domain name he wants to sell, asking me if i would be interested in marketing it for him, and I respond saying yes.

Then he gives me a background story of how he had a company, and his best friend and personal assistant leaves his company along with a few of his best staff to go open his own company. And then he ends up closing his own company. Out of anger and spite, he sees that this "friend" has bought the .ca of his company name and so as revenge he goes to buy the .com domain. So after holding it for a few months or a year i think, he decides he wants to let it go.

So I request for the name of the domain, and also tell him that whatever we sell it for, we split 50/50 which he gladly agrees. So I set to work, with only one end-user in mind (his "friend"wink. I send him a mail as usual, and he responds that he would be interested but only ready to pay $500. I start my negotiation from $2,988 after a lengthy negotiation battle, we settle for $1000. He pays a few minutes later. My canadian friend now gets skeptical about transferring out the domain because he thinks I might scam him. He begins to question me, and I let him know from the onset that I'm a Nigerian. This creates some doubt in his mind. But after a few exchange of words and even pictures (Yes, I sent him my picture of myself and my wife), He decides to take the risk of trusting me.

He transfers the domain as Dan has instructed and within 2 hours the money lands in my bitcoin wallet. Now I am not able to send him his share that same day. Am sure this must have caused him sleepless night cos he kept firing mails at me asking when he will get the funds.

Well, first thing the next day, I transferred his share of the money to him and as soon as he sees it, he is so elated and he responds with the message in the picture below and even promises to assist me whenever I am ready to relocate to Canada (Yes, I told him I have plans on relocating to Canada).

Oh, And he later reconciled with that "Friend" of his after the transaction, which He also thanked me for, for helping him overcome the bitterness he had for his friend.

So sorry for the extra long epistle. I just felt I should share.

Messages like this. This is too sweet. Congrats !!!

Google emoji domains. I think that's an emoji domain.

That's true. I was a bit taken aback the first time I saw it. Didn't know it was a thing before then.

The singer "Common" has something similar on his twitter bio.

Of course they are. I have a few I relate with on here.

But at the same time, I cut one off because he became unbearably and subtly arrogant and irritating and he is the only one I have ever physically met when I was in Benin for my cousin's wedding.

Cut him off, blocked him, and also told him NEVER to message me again. I did that because he turned everything into a competition, the same person that was pestering me all over the place and bugging me. WHY? He was making some $$$ and feels he bigger than me lol. I have no problem with anyone making more money than I.

I also learned he displayed that attitude to some else.

A relationship is more important than turning these things into a competition but I am sure he is not mature enough to realize that yet.

I knew him before I met HayKay but I can say I and HayKay have had a run at trying to strike deals outside domaining. The last one we did came through me, it was something that involved a $4M transaction...

But somehow I found that the people we were dealing with were scammers. It was BrandUche(another person I met here) that first alerted me and warned me because he is quite experienced in the field. I found it hard to listen initially until another close relative called my attention to it.

We had to pull out.

I am mentioning this because these names here are domainers that I met on here but we have helped one another outside domaining. Money is good BUT BUILD healthy relationships with the people you meet here. It is richer than wealth! Don't just narrow everything like that mumu to domaining and turn everything to competition.

There is a bigger world out there.

Golden advice. Relationships and Reputations are virtues. Handle with care.

Welldone.

What we don't understand about domaining and brandables is that

You are not the only one searching for good names. Whether it's on watch list or not, if will be picked, it will be picked and registered. Have you not witnessed a situation whereby a name you thought about, written in your jotter was registered few days after you checked it was available. It shows, people think like you.

To decide if name is good is one's perogative which is kinda twisted.

Every SH owned name is great but ask yourself, can you manage the portfolio you currently have if you owned them?

Imagine,a portfolio of 300+ ain't easy to manage. To break even,no beans oo

You think if you registered that name, the owner will actually buy it from you or search for similar niche?

Lots of these people don't have the luxury of money to buy $1K+ names. They rather go for $9 and make it suitable for their purpose.

My advice - names you believe you can renew for 3yrs+ are those you should register. If you can't, no matter how you love the name, let SH own it.

This is a solid advice. I currently have 1 domain (brandable) that I know I can't let go of regardless of whether it sells now or take 10 years. Although people say domaining is a numbers game, which is true, endeavour to always keep quality at the back of your mind when registering.

I often reply immediately if I'm online and they ghost me. One sent me a mail and asked for my phone number and I asked why, dude ghosted. Is this a way of getting mail addresses or there's something else? I don't know.

That is strange thou. I guess before you reply be sure they are from this thread and they've interacted with the thread quite often.

Random thoughts...

Are domainers good with relationships in the outside world?

I kind of observed a thread and noticed most domainers are people who like to do life alone.

What do you think?

People who dm you and when you respond you don't get to hear from them again, what exactly is happening? Please who has an idea here? Thanks.

Probably they've gotten the answers from someone else. They might be sending DMs to multiple people.

This could be one of the reasons.

Keep reading sir. If you can read, you will give testimony

Thank you Chief. I started domaining last year 2020 during the pandemic btw. I bought some domains then mostly geo and a few brandables. I sold about 10 domains, all geo but got busy with some other projects. Almost all the other domains I bought then have expired.

Decided to pick it up again this time. Hoping to stay consistent while I also interact with the bosses here so see new updates and trends in the domain industry.

Bayarea Domains do Sell and all sales are By GOD GRACE.
Because of your reply to him, I had to go bring this.

#MYGODLIVES...

I also have a couple of bayarea domains in my portfolio. One thing I have noticed is the massive number of endusers for this domain.
