Mroriginal2022:
Madam,

Only if you know how grossly underpaid core professionals are In the uk, you wouldn’t be saying this. A pharmacist with 2 kids who took a side gig for 3 months probably to cushion the effect of the cost of living crisis, if she was paid well enough, she might not have considered it in the first place. She was already suspended , why fire her after suspension and the whole issue seems overflogged.

Sad about the ladies situation but let's call it for what it is she was dishonest. Earning from 2 NHS based roles at the same time. How is she going to do two 9-5's at the same time! Total dishonesty.... then she lied calling in sick whilst at the other job If she took a second gig on her days off, she would been able to defend herself as what you do during your time off can be argued.
A lot of pharmacist but NHS employed and Private do extra locum shifts to earn more....being honest is part of being a pharmacist professional.

Good Day House,

Just wanted to speak to our property Guru's in the house. Does anyone have any experience leasing their property to the council. What is your experience with the council, I read they pay upfront no management fees etc But what is the state of the property afterwards.

My estate agent which has been managing my 3 bed buy to let in catford have had no troubles since 2013. But the last tenant which passed their check turned the lovely property to a cannabis farm. Damages insane, but im lucky cos they only did one harvest or else they will have done way much damage,Cost to fix is almost £22k and the thing is pissing me off I no go lie. Police self cant be bothered after reporting and chasing up their response its part of a bigger criminal network blah d blah they are still investigating till today nothing..Im sure I can fix cheaper but I live 4.5hours from london I cant be leaving family to fix house.. Insurance company only forked out £5k after much forward and backward its in small print anything drug related is £5k pay out😫. Insurance dude said he owns property did private but now has giving his to the council and no problems. Hoping to fix by feb cos im paying mortgage plus council tax no profit.

Im just afriad this estate agents dont make the same mistake or if it happens again. I know ill make the loss back in a couple of yrs Its a lovely property with a huge garden ...but dont need this headache again

Anyone with experience on leasing with council pls let me hear your experience.. Thank you and sorry for my rant.

Nothing wrong with what your wife said but make sure you indicate that you’re the sponsor. Attach your home deed to show she can stay with you guys, 3 months bank statement showing surplus money to show you can sponsor her, and your work contract or payslip to show you have a job.

Write letter of invitation too. Also if you have photo of you and her, attach. Niece is not a strong tie so better to give plenty documents that too little document. What you should worry about is how you’ll prove her toe to Nigeria and show that she will return.

Good luck .

thank you for your reply, was thinking of using my "remortgage statement" I just remortgage instead of the home deed. She does have her University letter as well stating she is a full time student etc

If you are sponsoring her trip and not her parent. .... that a red flag that she might not come back. Is she a student, you have to show what bringing her back after the holiday

Yes she is a full time student and has a letter from the university as well. She's going back in January for school

"How much money are you personally planning to spend on your visit to the UK?" Basically wifey and I are the ones sponsoring it. My wife says put £100 there as she cant be expected to fly out empty handed. I'm like put Zero are we given her the £100?.
There is also a section who is paying towards the cost of your trip and this is where we put how much we will be putting( all together flights plus small spending money).

Please any advise will be gratefull. Thank you all.

What date did you choose as your arrival date when paying for the tests, because if you choose August 26th, then they should ship on 27th and it should be delivered the same day.

Yes, you can call the management and asked them if they can pick up and keep it for you

Sorry I believe the PCR tests will be posted the next working day. If it is a pcr test to travel by post, they normally ship it the next working day, same as the day 2 and 8. The reason they ask for these dates is that they take account into the posting of the test to you and your return of the test to the lab, they use that to see if the order can be processed. The only test they send out the day before your test is due is the test to release which is timed for the 5th day(govt set strict rules this should get to the patient minimum day 4, but some F"~k ups happens with the posting).
I know this for 2 reasons my pharmacy where I work I deal with these questions every single day but the cheapest pcr test by post is "randox health" booked these for my parents and sister inlaws.

Mr Soknown I love your writing and enjoying this read. More strength to your hustle just remembered my first few days as a Pharmacist in the UK.

Soknown:

Thank you for your good words, Writing, good write-up is a product of many factors. Practice, knowledge, Confidence. etc Growing up, i had wanted to be a Journalist but Truth be told, i am not very good at writing, if i am, i would have published many books. This project i am writing is experiential so that makes it easy to write, even at that, I have to edit it countless times before i post. I believe you have a story to be told just like everyone else. So start with your story, write it anyhow it comes, then edit and make corrections. You can record your thought in words before you then transcribe it, your confidence will grow with time. When you read, try to get into the writer's mind. why did the writer put a instead of b or c? As i said earlier, I appreciate your good words.

Concerning your cousin, let her follow her passion and ability, but it is advisable to get a University degree as advised earlier by Phocallmods and Yemisih. Hopefully she will make very good grades next year. Let her choose in between the two courses based on her passion, you can nudge her as you have started but let her choose. I hope going for the course at Yaba tech would not distract her from reading and writing the next WAEC and JAMB. Good luck to her, i will be following up with you.

Politics / Re: The Rise And Fall Of Akinwunmi Ambode. By Kayode Ogundamisi by BoyDimples: 1:49pm On Oct 03, 2018
StRichard:
In 1999, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu was elected Governor of Lagos State. His then party, the Alliance for Democracy (AD) produced all the governors of the South West. By 2003, Tinubu was the onl y governor left in the AD. He was under pressure to decamp but he stayed. He built the party and it became stronger. For the eight years that he ruled Lagos, he hired several guys to work with him. I think he carefully picked them. Apart from using them to work in his government, he also groomed them for the future. Eight years down the line, see where those Tinubu guys are today - 1. Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN was Tinubu's Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. He is today, Nigeria's Vice President. 2. Rauf Aregbesola was Tinubu's Commissioner for Works. Today he is serving his second tenure as Governor of Osun State. 3. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN was Tinubu's Chief of Staff and successor in office. He is today Nigeria's Minister of Power, Works and Housing. 4. Alhaji Lai Mohammed was Tinubu's first Chief of Staff. He is today, Nigeria's Minister of Information 5. Babatunde Fowler was appointed by Tinubu as Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service. Today, he is the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service. At the National Assembly, there are countless "Tinubu boys" who have occupied and are still occupying seats till today. Since 1999, the Tinubu camp has produced almost 98% of the members of the National Assembly from Lagos State. Forget politics, this man is a political enigma. Rewind to 1999, I am sure most of us have forgotten the names of the People who were elected Governors then. Some of them have gone out of circulation. Some are gasping for breath politically. Indeed, most of them are no longer relevant today. Who still remembers Mbadinuju of Anambra State, Jolly Nyame of Taraba, Mohammed Lawal of Kwara, Segun Osoba of Ogun, Attahiru Bafarawa of Sokoto, Achike Udenwa of Imo, Victor Attah of Akwa Ibom, Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia? That one has lost two consecutive senatorial elections. But Tinubu has not only managed to remain extremely relevant, he has continued to control Lagos politics 100%. Not only that, he manages to carry his boys along and today they occupy critical positions in our national life. Take it or leave it, Tinubu is today, Nigeria's most powerful politician. It didn't just happen by chance. He worked very hard for it. Very very hard. The hallmark of a true leader is not just the ability to rule well but also the ability to nurture and groom his associates. MY TAKE: 'If you are lonely at the top, then something is wrong somewhere. The most successful business you can venture into is building people like you (Human resources). Start that MENTORSHIP today, because there is no success without successor. cool

I enjoyed this insight

Someone on here was saying something about using a house in leeds and works in london....
I really dont think it matters. I mean I know people who live in doncaster and take the train to london to work! because the rent up north is so cheap

The sponsor could be paying for his ticket via his employers some kind of subsidised travel. I am just saying. The virgin bullet train. Takes 2hrs, you technically dont have to declare it.

, please how long did it take to get your childs british passport... am on the same boat and have applied since November, although my hubby has been scheduled for interview at their office. any pointers to note
It took a week to get mine. I did same day application interview this was done in. the UK only question I was asked was how I got my citizenship and also someone had to sign the back of my babies photo's in one of the pictures he didn't write his middle name. Luckily for me I told him to sign 4 pictures. And I had an extra one.
Getting his Nigerian passport in the uk now that was a nightmare
Hopefully if your child's British passport is done it would boost your application especially with this new ruling where the Judges mentioned the interest of the British child. In my application cover letter I kept hammering that point "in the best interest of the British child"

If you invited me to the suya spot, that salary for reach.. . .... .. .
Hopefully not bro! We did however mention the delivery in our application honestly.
But now u mentioned we will prepare for any questions and also my child's British passport will be kept untop of my wife's Nigerian passport as she reached the immigration officer.

That N100k wage plenty o. About £180 a month!!!!! The money too much for you, if to say u neva comot, I for ask them to reduce that wage sharply.... .........

HA the money no plenty joor! Lol if you put down pampers money plus cerelac, feeding allowance. Money no even dey to go suya sport watch champions league.

I think the reason why they might have been fast was maybe for the fact we said 28th of Feb for travel date. I did not do priority because my wife couldn't travel earlier due to this so called "bond" contract you have to sign with the bank you work for. If she leaves within the first 2years her referee would have to pay 2million. So we waited to respect the contract.. .. hence I did not bother using priority... the money go enter ticket...

Good evening House!

I just want to say, you guys are God sent! Your comments here have helped a lot of people including myself and my spouse. Oga Lexus I hail ooh!!
I am one of them silent followers.
So my wife and I got married in 2015 . I did the "return to naija" thinking naija was the place to come to in 2013, oh boi it is a hard place all those uncles who promised you big jobs and connections omo no one helped. only person that helped was for nysc.

After getting married in 2015 and a baby on the way, I decided to move back to the UK, I got a Job and earning good money 45k and above. Unlike the miserable N100,000 naira per month in naija, lol 2 nites in sip pay. So my wife came to visit in 2016 she gave birth to my child at a hospital we didnt pay nhs nothing and we were not charged. my wife and child moved back to naija

So that birth thing made me afraid that they would refuse my wife spousal visa as per nhs treatment on visiting visa but speaking to people they encouraged us to put in for the application as both my child and myself are british and nhs no charge us. I ticked all the financial criteria plus all the other criteria's

I attached photos, ticket print outs, our dubai holiday photo's and tickets with our baby, bank statement pay slips etc
Timeline(wife non priority)

Online application submited- Dec 24th 2016
Biometrics - Dec 29th 2016
Documents sent-4th Jan 2017
Documents returned- Feb 10th 2017
Decision made email- Feb 24th 2017
Passport ready email- Feb 24th 2017(at 6.30pm made us wait the whole weekend)
Passport picked- Feb 27 2017(Visa stamped 22st Feb)

Now to book ticket for my wife and child!!! Goodluck to everyone applying.

Bros chuks I know this thread is a bit old just wanted to find out if u went ahead with d danfo and if your enjoying it. I myself want to buy one, but I won't drive it. I already own 2 keke marwa which I manage as hire purchase. The hire purchase would end soon so I'm thinking of buying a bus instead of buying another 2. I met an owner of a danfo who said the pay is better as long as d cash enters your account daily. Let me know pls. I just finished Nysc and no job. So man has to hustle. Thanx
