Thanks! this may be the reason. Although it's back now and i want to find a solution. The catalyst is intact though and the error says "Catalyst system efficiency below threshold".
fineboynl:
probably water enter the catalyst oxygen sensor and sock and wash out the carbon blockage

I experienced something unusual. My 2012 accord has had a p0420 for months and i was told i need to replace the catalyst. I drove through a pool of water over a week ago and the check engine light that had been on went off and hasn't come back on. Scanned the car and the error is no longer there. Wondering what the water had to do with it.

Hello House. Pls who knows why my CV shaft(not sure if that is the right name but pic attached) for my 2011 accord keeps going bad. It's driver side.It has not yet failed completely but i have had to change it three times(diff mechanics) in 6 months. It starts with a cranking noise when i turn right and progressively gets worse then i have to replace.
One mechanic suggested i change the lower arm but i am not sure if that will fix it. Also the road to my house is a bit bumpy but i'm curious if that is the reason as i don't have issues with the one on the other side.

What if the oil life indicator get to 0% and the mileage is not up to 5000 or 1 year for mobil1? I use my car mostly short trips within the area and in a year i have done less than 4k miles but after about 6-7 months the oil life indicator is at 0%.

Conner44:

If you’re using the regular mobil 2000 (black cover) sold in the Nigerian market you should change it out after every 3000 miles (4,500 kms) or every 6 months if you’ve not driven that far in that timeframe. If it’s the usa mobil1 I’d suggest you use it till 5000 miles (7000 kilometers) or after a year If you’ve not driven as far as the above mileage.

Leave in the power steering and gearbox oil for now until you can go to oyingbo and buy the replacement Honda power steering fluid and the original dw1 transmission fluid. First use the vehicle for some months and observe how it functions before you start changing the transmission or power steering fluid.

But seriously, keep that vehicle very functional. If there are 100 people with that 2007 civic in Nigeria the people who have the exact configuration of yours won’t be up to 5. It’s a very rare car you’ve got right there.

I had a similar experience and eventually had to change the evap canister purge valve.Turns out there was nothing wrong with the fuel cap itself

Hi guys

I drive a 2008 Honda Accord and I've been seeing a check fuel cap notice on the dashboard for months now. It comes on anytime and I don't know what to do to solve this. Has anyone had the same problem and what did they do to solve it?

Really appreciate this detailed guide.Praying for you to get yours too

I tap from your blessings ooo. Very beautiful ride. Make God open way for me too make I buy this beat too.

So long as it's tokunbo you can use any. Yes 5w20 is recommended but 5w30 won't hurt it either. However please don't use substandard fluids. Use popular name brands with good API and dexos rating. Oils like mobile, liqui moly, Pennzoil, super tech, valvoline are very nice . Ensure you get it from a reliable source in order to avoid stories

Coolant is recommended get the OEM from luvinhubby.

If your routes aren't filled with bad roads and you vont carry load you can leave ity car is as high as yours However you can get bigger tyres if you Wana increase your clearance.

Id say you should change your transmission fluid every 2 years of you drive very frequently I. Order to keep it clean and lubricated. High temperature causes transmission fluids to oxidize quickly. The more it oxidizes the quicker it deteriorates

Hello House,
I just got this 2012 Accord Tokunbo(150,000 miles) and i will like to know
- Should i use 5W-20 or 5w-30(Is there a particular brand)
- Water or coolant?
- How often to change the ATF
- What is the best way to increase ground clearance as it seems very low for our roads
Thanks so much.
