It's not only Brabus and the siblings that lost here. We lost as Nigerians because many may back off on doing projects remotely now.

Don't rush to terminate discussions if it's being done within the terms of service of the site. Allow people to discuss, this is a forum and it's not as it were sending email into your computer. You are signing on to read this voluntarily.

And I don't mean to offend you but the one person that has tried to reap me off on my fence claim to be a reborn Christian. Even the almighty Brabus interjects coming down from the hill or vigils in his responses.

I and I suspect most others don't relate religion to business ethics. At least in Nigeria.

Just saying.

For the record I have nothing against you Sir but quit telling me to shut up indirectly. Only Seun and Lawyer can do that.

Haha. na wah o. lets all take a chill pill and.laugh small. This should not get anyone worked up.

I did not call your Brother in UK because you said you are moving on, so I did not want to make the unhappy man more unhappy with my questions.
So, please you have proven your case here and everyone can see where the problem lies, and just abide by your brother's decision and move on.

That's the reason she went the other way because she knew I'm not going to give in to the cement supply arrangement. The 19m contract is good enough for me. That's when she presented you the 24m quote.

If I may ask, what's the reason why she didn't supply all the cement again? She lost interest? Got busy? Or it's not profitable?

Lets drop this. What is done is done.
I cant bring myself to the level of exchanging messages with people who have ripped me off.
I leave this to both of you and God.
If you are innocent like you seem to be claiming then God has seen it.

@brag3,

You seem to assume that Brabus collude with your sister to rip you off. Do you need some proofs? Instant one.

I'm sure you know you never asked me to pay any sum of money to her account during the phase of construction.

@Brabus,
You did collude with her. Thats a fact. The question is who instigated the collusion but the fact is that from your own admittance you did collude wit her. and if you are now trying to show me proof of this collusion then you are still admitting it so don't see the point here.

Yes, I never asked you to pay any money to her account so if u did so it could be:

a) you did some business with her and you are paying for it (which I have heard)
or
b) this is the kickback payment

so what exactly are you trying to prove here?

Please lets concentrate on the premiership season and let this matter rest.

whatever money was lost has already been replinished Bro.

We have moved on. when God calls us back we wont take any of it with us so lets just leave good deeds behind.

1) I don't interpret I just respond based on evidence. So the quote never came from Brabus to your UK Brother directly.

2) This is good evidence.

3) It can't happen but ONLY because UK funds did not go to Brabus directly but via a Nigerian bank.

4) Excellent. It can't happen anyways now that I know that there is no direct trail from UK to Brabus account.

N1.3m was actually not technically lost since your Sister, a co stakeholder, has it. But the amount is duly noted nevertheless.

Thank you. Burt it was definitely lost and while we are on the subject.
You seem to assume that Brabus has made the payment to my sister.

She has claimed that Brabus has not made the payment to her.
Whichever way you lookt at it 1.3M was lost - Fact. No technicalities here but Like I said its only money.

God always replinishes clean hands.

1) Did Brabus send the quote to your Brother in UK? The false flag N24m quote.

2) Did part, doesn't have to be all, of the payment for that fraudulent quote come from the UK?

3) Could your Brother alert UK authorities that he sent money to Brabus based on fraudulent claim?

4) Could UK authorities then list NextHome (sp) as a scam organization? Or worse open a BOLO for Brabus himself as the owner if he ever enters UK or steps foot on UK embassy grounds?

Not saying that this should or could happen, I know your family has moved on, but I am just thinking out loud.

I know that your eyes are in front and everything but this thread is serving as a lesson to ALL of us participants on NL property section. Your family lost some money but it could have easily been any of us here, especially in diaspora.

1) Did Brabus send the quote to your Brother in UK? The false flag N24m quote. - Quote was sent to my brother and I (via my sister) so however you choose to intepret this will be interesting however the original quote was then sent to my brother a few weeks ago when shyte hit the fan

2) Did part, doesn't have to be all, of the payment for that fraudulent quote come from the UK? Yes, a fair amount came from UK

3) Could your Brother alert UK authorities that he sent money to Brabus based on fraudulent claim? My brother you and I know this can't really happen. it's not as simple as this. Money gets transfered into his own account in Nigeria and from this account payment was then made to Brabus. it was agreed one account will be used for this project for transparency and accounting purposes.

4) Could UK authorities then list NextHome (sp) as a scam organization? Or worse open a BOLO for Brabus himself as the owner if he ever enters UK or steps foot on UK embassy grounds? I doubt it.

Just to make things clear. 5M was not lost ooo. This was the amount that willl have been lost had Brabus complete the project.

The amount lost based on the stages completed came to about 1.3M so we thank God.

I understand.

My response is in response to this question. "Is it impossible to Fathom that the temptation came from Brabus and my sister went along for her own gain?'

After listening to ALL the surreptitious recordings (no hearsay, no other salacious evidences considered) then yes it is impossible for me to fathom that your Sister was baited into this unfortunate scheme. I believe that she orchestrated the con and Brabus went along since this is customary in Nigeria (not saying I support it or it's right for Gods sakes). What business man will willingly offer N5m away?

I could be totally wrong but I'm still qualified to serve as a jury of your peers and my opinion is valid in a court of law.

Yep, you are fully qualified to make this assumption. It's a forum and free for all so your opinion is as valid as any other person's.

I beg your pardon. I did not condone it. I only stated that it was unprofessional but is what is applicable in Nigeria. Of course it is wrong. My position is that in the nigerian environment it is not unexpected. I understand your frustration but just maybe if the temptation did not come from your sibling, it might have been a different story; that however a a big maybe.

Totally understand. Your post stated it was unprofessional, Did not see anywhere you said it was wrong so assumed it was right in your eyes. Apologise for that assumption. you are also making a big assumption that the temptation came from my sibling. Is it impossible to Fathom that the temptation came from Brabus and my sister went along for her own gain?

Take note of what is being said, it just shows you that they are birds of the same feather with no moral compass.

The fact that you have taken over means you get an opportunity to see the thieves in action. Brabus is not an exception but unfortunately he is the general norm.

There is a reason why people in the diaspora are weary and they should be. You are safer assuming that anyone you deal with is going to defraud you and limit your exposure.

Good luck. Been there done that but learned from it.

@gabbytabby,

Much appreciated. I have said time and time again I bear no ill-feelings towards Brabus.
Life goes on and we learn daily. It's just a shame when people comment on issues without thinking them through.

Yes we can all say this happens in Nigeria but is it right?

When the shoe is on the other foot and we are the victim should we just keep quiet and accept it or voice out our concerns? Afterall I am not going around chasing Brabus for any refund, am I?
I am taking care of things by myself now and believe I know what I am experiencing on the site daily but at least I have more control now.

Thanks again

One word on now-rested brag3 case: those who were castigating brabus for colluding with brag3's sister, in NIGERIA how many professionals will:
- risk the profit on a N19 million project and refuse to play ball with a family member
- how many bankers will risk losing a public sector deposit for refusing to settle the Officer in charge
- how many suppliers will risk losing a business for refusing the Purchasing Manager's request to inflate the LPO
- how many people will risk bring delayed by refusing to settle the policeman on road block.
What Brabus did was unprofessional but it is obvious that a large majority of Nigeriand would do the same in similar situations.

So according to you, it was unprofessional but not wrong? so this is the way of life here.
I salute you for your insight.

@brag3, you knew your sister betrayed your family, and you still trust her not to have lied about being threatened? And if your brother in London can still vouch for brabus, why is your case different? Or is it a personal vendetta against brabus for not have been the one in charge of the the juiciest part of the job? Maybe you wish you had been the contractor for your brother.

@brabus, you have to know that this "way of life" with others doesn't work for you, a lot of people get away with worse than this, don't you know God wants you to be very honest since every little thing you do is magnified? I know you thought you'd rather go with their sister than lose the job, but see where it landed you. Most Nigerians can't think, so they run with the story, and you will damage your brand if care is not taken.

I'm one of those who still believe in you cos I have open mind and know what's obnable in Nigeria, please learn to say NO to family members like this one.

I really done get your point. Are you being paid by Brabus or are you Srupid or what?
I am paying for this project as well. Who do you think is payign for it now?
Do you think my brother in UK is paying for this phase?
What have I said that is a lie about Brabus? Was he not paid for this? Did he not collude with my Sister?
This just goes to show how bad our system is when fools like you can spit out utter rubbish.

I came on here to write an honest review and you spill trash.
If you follow my threads you will see that I apologised to Brabus if indeed he did not threaten my sister but the other things said were facts so why is a fool like you coming up with thrash?

I remember Aventure asked a lot of questions about this particular project two month ago or so. I can see from far away something is wrong with this structure. The owner was only shopping for the cheapest builder out there.

Eghosajonny work always look like he doesn't use enough cement or doesn't miss cement and sand very well before building.

This structure is a mess. Some parts of it need to be torn down to avoid collapse.

This is scary. These needs to be looked at asap. This does not look safe for dwelling and I am not even an engineer

Na wa o. Even before this guy got any job in nairaland, he sounded too desperate to be trusted...always crashing in on peoples thread and literally begging for jobs.

Project sponsors should also learn to do basic due diligence before awarding contracts. I have never seen the wisdom in giving people serious jobs out of pity so Mr OP you have your own share of the blame. Just like others that read about Brabus and still give jobs to him and his fraud of a company and then come back months later to cry on the thread. By the time you start crying on the thread about your contractor things would have already gone wrong and you would have lost money!.

Additionally when you are unsure of a contractor, you need to do your job in phases and be ready to fire him at any stage. You also need to cover your ass with a contract that will be signed by both parties and be ready to prosecute. The problem is that we are all in a hurry to get things going and always forget to do the basics.

Sir,
You have hit the nail on the head here. The thing you also have to understand is that our brothers and sisters in Diaspora cannot always do that level of due diligence from there and when they come here they only have a few weeks or so.
It's not as easy as it sounds so where do they go from there?
It's forums like this that can assist us and help to guide/shape our decisions and thats why I told my story about Brabus not to soil his name but to say what I experienced.
If all clients here say their experiences we will be able to weed out the bad ones from the good ones because I am sure there are alot of good ones as well.
We all have a part to play in making thins better for Nigerians here and the ones that planning on coming back.

Some of these so cowboy builders take the money from the clients and dont even pay their workers.
These are workers eating from mouth to mouth and they treat them like dogs even after they have done their jobs well.

We are in such a bad state if we think these acts are humans and come Sunday all of us will go to church and ask God for mercy.

What kind of mercy do you want after doing this to your fellow man?

Titles/names are used loosely on Nairaland.

Johny is definitely not an engineer. Same with Brabus.

When I hear of collapse structures, I always wonder who the structural engineer is. That is enough to cause him ti lose his license.

As per diverting money etc, it is partly because people are not trustworthy and partly because some cannot resist temptation. When you pass like N15m through someone, dont be surprised when such people start to get ideas.

integrity and respect for contract is holding us down as a nation.

Well said Bro. True words.

Our greed will always hold us back.

I visited my Bro in UK last year and its amazing how things work there. People are held accountable for their actions or lack of it.

In our country Nigeria cowboys operate everywhere. Take our hard earned money and flex around the town after doing shoddy jobs.

They will all get paid with the same coins they have stolen from people who have toiled hard for their money.

Wow, This is so amazing.
What started off as s simple question has opened up a bad can of worms.
I saw some of Brabus posts posted on the 4th of August with pics of a client and was impressed and decided to ask for others opinions on this professional outfit. I now use the term professional loosely as this outfit seems to be anything but professional.
It’s also amazing that having followed this thread in its entirety it seems Brabus has stood steadfast in his beliefs that he is immune from any wrongdoing.
You have openly admitted to submitting a schedule of work/materials that was grossly over-inflated. You have admitted that NextHome gave kick-backs to his sister. You produced a contract that was delivered last year totalling over 24M for a piece of work that was about 19M. You said the contract was given to the sister but you knew what the end-game was. You knew that this contract was going to be submitted for the work. This schedule/contract had your company’s letter-head and was the sole document the brothers had to work with. This again you knew was wrong but you carried along. When yawa gas now you produce a contract for 19M saying that this was the real document but you never produced this from day one. Any reason why. Were you sleeping with the Sister as well?
Now through all this you make claims that she has fooled 3 grown men thereby painting yourself as a victim as well but how can you even stoop so low to claim this ground?
Are we NL readers so dumb as to believe you are innocent? It’s a real shame Bro. This has shown your outfit in a very bad light. I too have siblings and like the rest of us here including you, we don’t have a choice over who are siblings are but one thing we can control is who we give our hard earned money to. We have the right to solicit for contractors to work on our projects and we hope that the contractors we employ will be our last line of defence against any fraudulent activity. We pay the contractors well for their services so why did you go down this route?
The only question I have for Oga Brabus is this. If you were a prospective client following this thread will you give you hard-earned money to NextHome to do work for you? A simple yes or no will suffice here.
Oga Brag3, so sorry to hear your story. You Sister is hard o. You need to be careful with her but like my fellow NL said above God will not let anything/anyone spoil our families in Jesus Name.
Make sure you manage your things more astutely going forward.
By the way I don’t mean to pry but how much has been paid to Brabus so far and what is the difference between that and what was supposed to have been paid?
And to Oga Brabus, will you pay the difference of the money that you have taken from these brothers? Don’t forget the money was paid to you directly and if EFCC enter na you dem go follow talk this matter ooo

@Befto,
Thank you my brother. Much appreciated. Nothing to hide here.

220K was paid for architectural drawings of which Brabus told my brother the real figure was 100K so 120K overpaid. 1646000 was paid to construct 3 shops + Security Post. This contract was submitted directly to me. Brabus has not produced the real contract for this so not sure what the actual cost was.
5,674,500.00 was paid for DPC foundation of which the actual contract shows 4,914,500.00 making a difference of 760000

2,985,500.00 was paid for Ground floor Block of which the actual contract shows 2,546,500.00 making a difference of 439000 so the overpayments total 120000+760000+439000 = 1319000.
So Brabus and my sister owe us 1319000. Who shall I invoice for this amount, lol?
