Just to clarify,

the scan that I uploaded was a scan of the fertialised eggs being placed in my wife.

This is no scam / hoax... I am simply telling people the journey that I am on. I am still sterile, we used donor sperm.

We are going for the blood test in 90 min to see if the 2 eggs have implanted and if she is pregnant.

I dont work for any clinic.

This is not the type of conversation you can have at a dinner party....

to all of you who have supported us I am grateful, for all of you who think I am something else...shame on you.
you have no idea the emotional rollercoaster this is
I will update every single one of my threads if that makes you all happy, I simply wanted the most insight and to get the most support I could.

God Bless

yes we got a donor, it was a massive undertaking, but we eventually picked one that has the same blood type and physical attributes to me...

Congrats in advance!

Did you eventually get a donor?

My wife is 1 day away from having her blood test to see if she is pregnant after going through the IVF process, just like you.

There is no amount of preparation that you can do to deal with the emotional journey that is IUI and IVF.

I want to give a big Shout out to the amazing doctors and nurses that arae helping us and hope they are helping you all too.

Hello, it is nto a hoax, I am real, and I am only putting this out there to give people hope.

if you have ever had to deal with the emotions that go along with this jounrey you will know that it is hard to talk to peope about it.

My thoughts exactly. He just creates threads and runs off without responding to anyone's post.

I'm beginning to think this might just be a hoax or some sort of advert for a hospital or fertility clinic. lipsrsealed

Family / Over All The IVF Process Has Been A Good One by Brian2015: 1:43pm On Aug 11, 2015
Hi everybody,
It has been a very interesting few days, my wife had 2 embryos put back in both fertilised with 8 cells each. The whole IVF process has been a hectic one and now we are simply going to have to wait until next week Tuesday to do the blood test to see if we are pregnant.

For anybody who is undergoing the treatment have children, I can strongly recommend going the IVF route and to use a clinic that has a good reputation and is professional.

God Bless all of you who have supported me so far.

please see the attached image, it is of the 2 eggs in my wife..

Today, we are in limbo, waiting for that dreaded phone call from the clinic to tell us if any of the fertilized eggs have died in the night.

When they both survive (positive thinking) we will go and have them place gently into my wife's womb. then we wait... in 2 weeks we will know if we have fallen pregnant.

it is exciting and scary all at the same time

think and pray for us please

God Bless

You shouldn't have told anybody you know because some people are very judgemental and pretentious. Go around acting like their life is perfect and their doo doo doesn't stink.

There is nothing wrong with getting a sperm donor. You and your wife should go ahead and have your child. I don't think your wife should sleep with someone else like someone suggested on this thread. It should be a purely business transaction. The sperm donor shouldn't know your family and you shouldn't know him outside of verifying the quality of sperm that you are getting

Hello Everybody,

I thought this would be a good place to post this so that I get the most insight.

I am a sterile man (can't father children) I don't know how this happened, I am 38 years old and have been married for 3 years. My wife has been tested and she can have children.

We have to use donor sperm....! I want to know if this is alright? I know that some people I have spoken to think it is and other do not. I am curious to hear what you all think? the community?

please give me your thoughts as I am very confused as to what is right and what is not

thank you and God Bless

Health / Where Is The Justice by Brian2015: 10:48am On Jul 30, 2015
Hello ALL, I am about to have a RANT,

We have been trying for more than 3 years, spent years of our savings to try and start a family, I am sterile (don't know why)

my wife is 41 and healthy.... we have had 9 AI attempts and none have been successful.

Everywhere I look I see people who just start trying and immediately fall pregnant! IT IS SO UNFAIR!!!

We are not going for IVF with a sperm donor and I really hope this works as we have very little option thereafter.

how do we increase the chances of success?

we are on day 3 of the injections to increase the number of eggs... what can we do to help thsi process along?
Family / How Much Does Fertility Treatment Cost by Brian2015: 9:52am On Jul 29, 2015
Help:

I have a question about the costs involved in Fertility Treatment.

What should IVF from start to finish cost, why are the injections so expensive?

What should it cost for my wife to store her eggs for 1 year?

How much does donor sperm cost?

I know they seem like random questions, but I would really like to know.

thank you and God bless

Help please
Everywhere my wife and I look, people are not event trying to get pregnant and it is happening for them, I am sterile and my wife is 41, me 38.

we have had 9 AI (IUI) and still nothing, we are going to have to try IVF next, it is a huge cost and will possibly be a once off chance.

what can we do to increase the chances?

I am really worried that this will be our only shot, what is the best clinic to go to and what can we do to increase the chances? We are obviously using donor sperm for this.

God bless all of you who offer help
Family / Male Infertility, This Is What I Am Dealing With by Brian2015: 12:29pm On Jul 24, 2015
"A variety of disorders ranging from physical problems to hormonal disturbances, to psychological problems can cause male infertility. Despite medicine’s limited ability to treat male infertility, many successful treatment options are available for its many causes. Besides testicular damage, the main causes of male infertility are poor sperm quality and low sperm production."

This is what I have been told, over and over again, where is the best place to go to get help?

mannycrown:

Brian2015, how long have you and wifey been trying?
You have to agree first that you're NOT STERILE! Exercise your faith in God! Sink that in your mind!!!
I had the same dejection and depression you're facing now. I also read this whole thread like you did, but today my testimony is on this same thread. Why? I took action(s) after being counselled on this same forum!
Well, let me first congratulate you for taking the first action of searching / reading up this issue online. That shows you have the will to get solution. And be sure, when there is a will, God will make a way.
The only way out is to first change your mindset that you're not sterile but TTC - trying to conceive.
Number two is to let God be true and all men liars. How? Take that second action and step of faith by consulting with a good urologist like manoda said. Why? This is to let you know what exactly you're dealing with! Because a problem identified is a problem half solved!! And bro, PLS go to the urologist / O&G with your wifey (I remember I and my baby had such couple hospital cards with some three urologists/ Gynaecologists). That's the only way to know if you or your wife or both of you have issues, not by blindly CONCLUDING that you're "clearly the problem"! How did you arrive at that if I may ask? This step two will help you concentrate your energy on the main matter behind the matter and will also help Good spirited Nairalanders as usual give you definite counsels. But when the matter is as ambiguous - "100% sterile" as you make it look, then you will only be making it more difficult to get close to the solution. Remember, almost all the cases you read on this thread shared their doctor's reports including me.
Three, forget about what anybody is thinking or will think about you when you go to the hospital. The reason is NOBODY truly cares about you or what you're going through - even some of those doctors! Only God truly cares. But on a thread like this where you meet people with the same challenge, mehn! you have nothing to loose or worry about.
Finally, don't give up praying abt it bro. You are next in line for a miracle! Baby dust to you and wifey this year and all in the house still TTC in Jesus name. Amen!

thank you for your kind words of encouragement, the truth is that I am open to any and all advise and will try anything.

thank you again

Family / I’ve Always Imagined Having Kids Since A Very Young Age… by Brian2015: 8:37am On Jul 15, 2015
I’ve always imagined having kids since a very young age…
Growing up in a small family of being the only child made me realise how having siblings: brothers and sisters is actually a very exciting life for other children. Unfortunately I had to subdue with what I got, and my parents, being so loving and caring, made me feel like the best child in the whole world.
When I wanted something I’d get it, but I had to come up with a valid reason, for instance how will it benefit me or is for school purposes etc. My family wasn’t the luxurious of families, but my father, who worked two jobs a week could provide for both me and my mother who was a housewife.
On occasional weekends or during school holidays I’d always travel to my aunt and uncles place. They had 6 kids: 4 boys and 2 girls. The eldest son (23) had already moved out of the house into a flat and the rest stayed in the house. I’m the same age as the fifth child (16), and the rest were between 15 – 9 years old. We would always catch up on mischief, breaking rules and all, you know how kids are, just being kids.
One day I realised how appreciating it is to have such adorable, caring, funny and reliable cousins. So I made a vow, once I have my own kids, they’ll have the same or similar bond as I used to have with my cousins. They’ll love one another and change the world into a better place.
Four years later, while I was in the process of finishing my 2nd year at University, I met this young, precious soul just outside the university cafeteria. I had accidently bumped over her orange juice and it spilled all over her white sweater. Embarrassed as I was, I received a lecture I’ve never received from a girl I hardly know. Luckily I had enough cents to buy her another one so we can move our separate ways.
Although it had stuck to me, never had I had such a female give me a speech in that manner. To think about it, it’s funny now but it was scary back then. So, as a way of commemorating my sincerity, the following week I saw her again and this time I asked her out. After a couple of “no’s” she eventually said yes and we went out.
After our first date I knew this girl was the one, she had all the things I had imagined from the mother of my kids. We spent together five years filled with ups and downs, and we managed to pull through and on Easter Weekend, we got married.
She’s a fulltime accountant and I’m a fulltime engineer. However, when it comes to family time, we’re always there for each other.
Last year, 2014, we decided it’s time we brought a child onto this earth. She was ready and I’ve been ready. Somehow we could not deliver, we tried numerous times until to date and nothing has helped. At first we thought the problem was with her but it turned out the problem is with me…
I’ve been embarrassed by this before, but I told myself, facing matters, it’s time to chin up and seek for help.
What should I do?
