Politics / Re: Buhari Really Destroyed This Country- See Inflation Rates Of Ex Presidents by Buccalcavity2: 2:55pm On Mar 16
Beautifulday:

You finished with a laugh and one will think you were not born when Jonathan took over.

Now let me school you.

Yaradua didn't finish his first tenor. Within the time he was in the hospital. That was when the economy went that bad because it was a looting time.

The was no government, everyone was doing as they like.
I spoke to the fact of the thread not the stories behind it. Good luck!
Politics / Re: Buhari Really Destroyed This Country- See Inflation Rates Of Ex Presidents by Buccalcavity2: 8:11pm On Mar 15
From your write-up Yar'Adua is actually the worst then Buhari in terms of managing the price level. so I don't see party problem here but a northern problem. 😂
Politics / Re: Honoring Senator Orji Uzor Kalu's Legacy And Condemning Betrayal. by Buccalcavity2: 1:42am On Mar 15
Aww. True. We love Senator Kalu...but he must be retried, convicted and jailed for his fleece in Abia State. It's all for the love of the citizen and motherland.
Don't worry karma will catch up with betrayers.

So you expect him to tell you they padded the budget after suspending the senator?

Let them tell us how much each got no be we got above 200 million. We wan calculate am it it equals the 3.5 trillion padded.
Pay attention to what that guy is saying. Or watch the video. Budgetary allocation is different from paid. It's a silly argument indeed!

Nice and intelligent write up op. Message clear. On a lighter note, Avg life span of the jungle king is 15yrs while his subjects are longer...so learn to take it easy too unlike the king.

I understand you. But can Chioma stop people from reacting? She can't control what others do.
Hmm. You have a point. It's just a disturbing trend. In the west, they probably have more brutal reviews than I see in Nigeria. And in few cases companies take it up while in majority of cases companies quickly douse the situation...You read the subsequent cases in news.... BUT i have never seen let's boycott that product/company...

MyExpression:

He didn't go the civil way.
That is exactly what escalated the issue.

You called the police, arrested her, sent her to lagos cell, the next day, transferred to Abuja cell..no charges yet.

Until the whole thing vlew up to the attention of FCCPC, did she get release coz of their intervention.
That is not the civil way to handle negative product review.

The intimidation and harassment is the reason we're boycotting Erisco.

Get it now?
That's on police not ERISCO, I think. Civil way is to report to law enforcement and charge to court, which is on going as I saw Chiomas lawyer say. So what's boycott for?
Don't get me wrong. I don't think Chioma or ERISCO is guilty until court judgement.
I'm just sick of how people make their personal problem a national problem because they have access to or can influence on social media (social media arrogance). E.g
Someone maligned a billionaire, the latter went to police, then SM says we should cancel d billionaire and even contribute money to bail the someone!
Someone entered a country with a wrong visa, was deported and SM says we should cancel the minister of aviation of the country and the country!
Someone lost election, went to court, then SM says we should cancel the Judges, Judiciary and the country while the case is still in court
A company is accused of using fake documents/fraud and taken to court by a bank, then SM says boycott the services of the bank!....
Becoming nauseating!

Chioma didn't ask anyone to boycott. Nigerians are the ones protesting. Plus, Chioma herself has the right to boycott any product she doesn't like. No law prohibits her from boycotting
Of course Chioma has the right to boycott. I'm worried about who (are the "Nigerians"wink calling on Nigerians to boycott a product. because Chioma is their social media comrade? I don't see the basis. It seems like social media cancellation strategy which aligns with ERISCOs complaints.
I'm just judging dispassionately
If I have issues with fellow citizen, regardless of my status, why can't I seek resolution in a civil way? why should social media be the judge?
Politics / Re: Reno Omokri, Tinubu Supporters, 'Alpha Males' Tell Erisco To Jail Chioma (Pix) by Buccalcavity2: 1:17pm On Mar 13
What I don't get is the boycott clamour. It kinda gives credence to chiomas motive to destroy ERISCO business.
You 'reviewed' a product, company feels it is malicious, went the civil way to complain. You came back from law enforcement officers and then clamour for boycott of the product? It's beginning to seem like arrogance and blackmail by social media to me.
The case is in court, so why are you scared if you are right! Why boycott?
Politics / Re: Come And Take Free Tin Tomatoes - Erisco Foods Begs Muslims Amid Boycott by Buccalcavity2: 3:15pm On Mar 12
Who are these set of cyber bullies. I assume this case is in court, so why are some people scared and clamouring for product boycott?

I am more concerned about where Nigeria is right now, Nigeria hosted this event in OBJ's time and since then we have not hosted it, aside from that ask yourself, can Nigeria host this event now with the way Nigeria is?

I still remember many participants from other countries who came and refused to go even after the event was over, they were saying they didn't know Nigeria was that good, look at where Nigeria is today
So Ghana is way better between obj time and now? Mtchew. Only God can save you people!

Mastered what art?
Ur comments are somehow abeg.

Ur making the banks look like saint financial institutions.

If u had a discerning spirit u wud sit and try and put the pizzles together about why so so so many rich people were running amok at the man's demise.

There is nothing esoteric that you need to specially discern. They are ordinary guys like you and I who just live above a level of consciousness.
You avoided focusing on other acquisitions that had no Sanusi touch. Over 10 acquisitions.to.date.. All these companies became stronger. Was it all Sanusi?
All of them (CEO's and politicians) are that connected. You think there's a bank that didn't sponsor politicians? And Businesses are not moral courts...so I can't call anybody a saint.

People go just dey write crap. So was it Sanusi that helped them to acquire Diamond Bank too? Instead of you to learn from your superiors.
Those guys have mastered the art of inorganic growth. That is it!
They acquired Access Bank, Marina Bank, FSDH,Intercontinental, Diamond and a number of Banks abroad. Was it Sanusi? How come the institutions acquired became stronger.
I don't know if Sanusi or Saraki had motives but guys were prepared when others had issues at different stages, they bought and the rest is history.

That up there is an indictment on PO....but you won't know because your expectation of leaders is like POs.
Leaders build system/institution and not wake up to tell you how much they saved from reading a file or how he saved by following driver to gas station ( as I watched him say) how many files will he read or how many drivers will he see?
What system was implemented to curb corruption or save cost? That's a legacy!
Again, Why will I choose a cost obsessed person over a revenue obsessed person? There's a floor to cost cutting while there's no ceiling to revenue making, if you understand.
If Anambra was safe, why were we all told by ABS during 2007/2011 election season to close offices by 6pm and had to be escorted home by police in Anambra. Why was his commissioner kidnapped and killed just 2months after his tenure. Some of us lived in Anambra during these times....And state loan was not cleared. Check DMO records to clear your misunderstanding.
Election is over. PO lost. Your ability to face reality is a predictor of problem solving potential.

What he said makes sense. I don't agree or disagree with it though. 4 national strikes in a 9 months tenure with its attendant revenue loss while the head of the Labor union is a member of opposition party. It's not out of place to suspect political motives....
But also do we stop the labor union from going on strike just because the government is young...
Neither here nor there. That's politicking.
Governance is my interest.
Politics / Re: War-Torn Ukraine Donates Grains To FG As Nigerians Battle Severe Hunger by Buccalcavity2: 5:59pm On Mar 01
Ignoramus. Ukraine is one of worlds highest producers of grains. It arguably produces about 12-15% of worlds grain (wheat,Corn and barley) production. So giving to Nigeria is no drama. Their inability to transport (stockpiled) grains due to the war is why some European countries are interested in ending the war ASAP.

I have said it!. Deal with civil servants, you will curb corruption. Make sure any civil servant associated with any corruption finding is jailed... and automate processes to reduce human intervention, you will reduce corruption.

Some people with inferiority complex will still come here and say don't sanction so that it won't chase away FDI.

Excuse me I beg to differ here!!!! If I may ask you who are you referring to as you people?

The Pastor & his wife were infantile & insensitive you know.

Legendary Kobe Bryant 41,his daughter 13 & 7 other people died in a helicopter crash & NBA honoured him by postponing basketball games & reschedule it another time.

How much did the pastor's wife spent for her birthday that the church couldn't postponed compared to that of NBA of over a 100 million dollars but reschedule to honor KOBE BRYANT.

Please think before you make comments in the nearest future.
Emotional rollercoaster.
Why are you going far to NBA. His own company didn't stop a program organized the next morning. Board members met and chose a successor the next Monday.
If NBA chose to mourn Kobe that way, dts NBA. Nobody is asking you not to mourn the dead in your own way. Don't project your emotions on others simple!
Drama 👑.

What nonsense are u saying... during the access bank marathon, no one knew about the death... access bank marathon happened in the morning, by evening, the news circulated...
Type what you know. If I knew, then his partners knew. Who did you think the surviving PA would first call or you thought he kept it to himself?
I have seen Herbert replace a diseased close associate within 48hrs and attended functions. Does it make him a bad man?
Face fact! No matter who you are, you are just a man at the end of the day.... And life continues the next moment.

nairalanda1:

The problem is, the discos cannot fund anything and no one would invest much in them unless they can charge cost reflective tarrifs.

Ghana and ivory coast have light because they privatized and charged cost reflective tarrifs.

A disco cannot give what it does not have. And when you have a situation where people are not paying and those who pay pay loss making rates, the result is the mess we have.

Telcos , ceiling or no, never had this problem.

At the end, you won't want to be underpaid, would you?
Interesting views. I agree power subsidy must go to liberate that industry (plus the funding isn't just sustainable). But I disagree that we are in this mess coz of our monolithic economy. Many others with same have stable currencies. Buhari messed up by not cleaning up the O&G industry. Before subsidy was removed, production should have been ramped up to make up for the forward contracts (and theft should have been so reduced being an ex general). Also gas production should have been improved.
Not too late coz macro-economic indices are promising; just the pass through to the masses is the problem now.
Massively cushion the masses situation now (truely release the food reserve to crash prices plus deal with fx speculators) , continue the restructuring of revenue profile (and yes power subsidy must go- maybe not immediately), ramp up production of O&G and fix insecurity.
