Politics / Re: Nigeria A Poor Country – Presidential Committee by Buccalcavity2: 1:54am On Jun 30 |
lexy2014:Capacity, I refer to GDP. How much revenue should a government raise from its GDP. E.g I live in a state with 4.5million people with $258B GDP. This state gets $78B Revenue. Nigeria has more than that GDP but generates less than $20b. YoY we're obsessed with corruption, but the revenue is even nothing, assuming nobody steals a penny from the expenditure side. $20B for 200m people? Potential to earn is there (GDP) but no president has been hardworking enough to raise revenue. |

ppogba:Leave that one alone. He's very empty. His actual obsession is Biafra/IPOB, only pretends here. Ask him for evidence of 400% ratio now, stories will start. Tell him government will increase revenue now, he tells you why should tax base expand. Only thing he knows is distribute loan to SMEs(boys) instead of Infra. |
Politics / Re: A Breathtaking Speech By Israel's Representative, Miriam Novak At The Un Genera. by Buccalcavity2: 12:54pm On Jun 25 |
Wallade:You see. This is where we differ. You seem to conclude that it is Israel that made Palestinians Toxic. I beg to remonstrate! That conclusion detaches historical perspective and ongoing sentiment among Palestinians and its partners who believe Israel should not exist (which is still actively pursued). Such argument strengthen the resolve of an "Israeli extremist" that a 2 state solution is a reward for antisemitism, which they resist. 2 state solution is not as difficult as the definition of boundaries and underlying assumption of right of existence of both countries. Those are the underlying sentiments fueling the crisis. |

Politics / Re: A Breathtaking Speech By Israel's Representative, Miriam Novak At The Un Genera. by Buccalcavity2: 5:57am On Jun 25 |
Wallade:Sad indeed... But an attack on the government of Israel resulted in civilian casualty just as the attack on the government of Palestine is resulting in civilian casualty. October 7 rocket attacks were meant for exactly who? Why is it ok to rationalize one and condemn the other? Why is it ok to rationalize those who swore to exterminate Israel if they have the power and not ok for Israel to exterminate the possibility of such threat? Esp when this had been done previously and was done in the 21st century (to Yazidis).I think both are doing the same thing, only in varying degrees depending on the power they have. Can't and won't hold brief for Israel...but I understand their argument. |
Politics / Re: A Breathtaking Speech By Israel's Representative, Miriam Novak At The Un Genera. by Buccalcavity2: 4:34pm On Jun 24 |
Wallade:Oh my friend, you got that twisted. Read (even google)! After different views from both parties from 1937 2-State solution proposals, Israel supports two state solution currently.... The party that disagrees is Hamas (it's stated in her mission statement) hence the rhetoric of "from river to sea". Hamas is the government of Palestine; now it is ridiculous that you plan to separate the representatives of a people from the people (esp when it's an ideology). Common! Like I said, I'm sad with the development but what would I have Israel do? Leave Hamas and wait for the next attack? No emotional attachment to any of both. 1 Like |

Wallade:I read historical perspective and can hardly fault the Israelis. The people "we" love to protect do not believe in a 2 state solution either. Ask an Hamas offspring or average Palestinian today, you hear "from the river to the sea". So we protect one to sacrifice another? That rhetoric is real! It is what first displaced the Israelis (with a lot of casualty) for there to be a need to come back. And if you doubted that, ask the Yazidis what can happen, even in the new millennium! I do not support killings as long as both parties are agreeable. But if one is saying I want to exterminate you, the other has a right to defend and protect its interest, moreso when they have the power to do so now unlike the old times! You shouldn't use international community to buy time to strike a deadly blow (an intention you never hid) on a "neighbor". Hamas should downtool or be open to mutual existence. 1 Like |

Yet Biafra didn't win; go and read! If Biafra didn't think Britain will support Nigeria, then it deserves to lose anyway! The war shouldn't have happened. PO lost 2023 election. Fact!
