Jobs/Vacancies / Things To Avoid In An Interview To Help You Get The Job by Buildingthelife(m): 3:47pm On Jul 11, 2015
This issue has made many people lose diverse job opportunities. Many actions caused by nervousness or a sense of ‘know it all’ can make potential employers decline your application. The reason for failing job interviews does not depend only on your deficient qualification, your character and choice of words is another criterion to watch, if you are to scale through an interview. Most people put humour to their work, and forget that the tone in which they voice out words matters a lot. Well, are you tired of failing interviews? One of these outlined below has probably been your stumbling block, Seat back and read this article till the very last full stop, adjust with these points and see how your next interview takes a turn.

#1 – I’m Sorry, I’m Late

You are late to an interview? (*surprised)

#2 – I’m Nervous

This statement is not fancied by interviewers. No company wants a person who lacks self confidence. You may be nervous, it’s allowed, but don’t show that you are, and most importantly never voice it out. If you can’t hide your nervousness, I advice you practice in that department before going for an interview. In the organization I used to work, I’ve seen people shiver, shake and mutter during interviews, trust me they never get to see that office again. Treat this issue.

#3 – Please When Would This Interview Be Over?

Never give the impression of being in a hurry, you would just be simply saying to the interviewer that you have another job, and need a job with extra value. No employer accepts this. I had once been interviewed in a computer café, and at the same time trying to beat time to another organization to submit my credentials, guess what? I got neither of the jobs. In short, never put a tight schedule around your interview hours.

#4 – I and My Former Boss Didn’t Get Along Well

The kind of questions that would be thrown at you and the kind of answers you give could throw you out the door in no time. Moreover, the interviewer would think you are a pain in the butt to work it.

#5 – When Are My Days Off?

If you start to make a list of this type of questions and throw it at the interviewers, you won’t even make it to the stage of submitting your passports and filling the employment, talk less about having your free time. It sends a wrong message across to the interviewer (he/she would think of you as the lazy type). Your focus should rather be to outline the measures you would take to improve the company’s productivity, even if it means working overtime. That’s what your employers expect.

#6 – I Left My Ex-company because I was poorly paid

Although this I a good reason to leave a company or organization, this issue should not be explained to the interviewer.

#7 – How Much Is My Salary

You are definitely going to get paid for your work, bringing up this issue early, sends a red signal to the interviewer. I advice you wait for this issue to be brought up by the interviewers.

#8- I Don’t Have Much Experience

If you say this, you would be admitting that you are not worth the job. Be confident in yourself, the job you intend to have is going to be an experience, ain’t it?

#9 – I Really Need This Job

Do not send a sense of desperation to the interviewers. You should rather make them feel that the job really needs you, for what you are worth, you should get the job.

#10 – F-words

I strongly advice that you keep your lingual strictly on PG.

#11- I Got ........

Business / Every Body Has Wealth Potential, Learn How To Activate It by Buildingthelife(m): 7:06pm On Jul 10, 2015
First of all, before going on, I have to change this philosophy that says money is the root of all evil. The love of money is the root of evil and not money itself.

Now that being said, I’ll conclude, “the root of all happiness is money” (well, believe it or not). It is of no doubt that money is of great importance in everyone’s life. But, the problem is how to get the cash flow pumping. Now, let me tell you this without an atom of doubt, Money is easy to get, and the economy of a particular country isn’t a criterion for you being cash deficit. In African countries mostly, the ratio of the poor to the rich is way off the balance, as many people are comfortably drowning in the pool of poverty, one thing most Africans fail to realize is that wealth is not to be achieved by the matured ones, the educated ones or those in the government only, for heaven’s sake wealth is looking for who is ready to tap into it. And talking about achievements, a young millionaire is definitely one to mention. I am going to be sharing with you my friend, some ideas and secrets that if you apply them, your bank account is going to have a huge boost. If you are just going to read this and not going to put it to practice, I think it’s better you leave this article. (I’m sure you won’t, because you need to be classy). Now, let’s kick it.

#1 – THE MINDSETThis is the first and most important criteria, as it is impossible to become wealthy without thinking like one. Its usually referred to as “The Millionaire Mindset”. Research has showed us that if everybody in a country is given an equal sum of money, the rich would get richer and the poor, poorer. Now, why is this so? This reason is very simple, while the rich would invest the sum of money, so he/she could acquire more wealth, the poor with a minute mentality would just consider his/her immediate needs, and treat them without considering what tomorrow holds. Now, you see the mindset here don’t you?

The way you see life and the way you see yourself is what determines what you get out of life. It is of great necessity that you think big always. At the age of thirteen, I was able to draft out the purpose and objectives for my life, I had these animated videos with the words “I must get rich, poverty is not an option” on every page. At that age, there was little I could do about it, but take my studies seriously, as I grew older, so did my thoughts, I was able to build up knowledge and worked in line with my aim, and trust me, I am getting the harvest. So, get out from the poverty mindset and develop that millionaire mindset.

#2 – THE WILL POWERNow, it is also important that you know this, “no self-made millionaire got rich overnight”. Getting rich is not a quick scheme; it takes zeal and continuous effort. Think of it as a trip, and during this trip, you are likely to stumble upon rocks, if you fall, get up and continue. This is what willpower denotes. If you fall and decide to get up and go back to where you started, you are definitely a broken record. I’ll be using Donald Trump (an American business mogul) as a classical example, on his race to stardom, his companies was filed for bankruptcy (more than twice) but he has still been able to come out even more productive. There’s just this thing that makes him sound so classy, and that’s his will power.

“QUITTERS DON’T WIN, AND WINNERS DON’T QUIT”.

These words should continue to play around in your head. Without persistence, continuous effort, zeal, and the will power to succeed, trust me, you are just another number in the world. If you scour around the world to ask rich people how they started, you’ll find out that the pillar to their success is determination. I employ you today to persevere, and be determined, for it is your gate pass to wealth.

#3 – THINKThere is no shortage of money on earth; the problem is we suffer from shortage of people who are ready to think out of the box

On this day, I am most grateful to my lecturer who has indeed open my eyes to see the realm of great possibilities.

Without much time I will simply pour his words to you, and the rest part be sure to read it on my blog
His Words -(Refined a little bit though)

Being studious is not the only criteria for your success, one of the area u have to look out for is your self doubt which can be very limiting..

SELF-DOUBT

Just like negative confessions and fear, doubt is another powerful success buster. Self-doubt can cause you to give up on your dreams and aspirations, and therefore is a force to be contended with if you are to succeed.

Achieving your dreams and becoming successful at one point tend to be worthy of doubt right? Well, then it is at this point that you need to employ self confidence.

Letting doubt into your life would do nothing but hold you back; making decisions becomes a problem because you keep thinking it through, setting your mind more on the path of failure than the bright side; doubting your ability to carry it out well and finally disengaging yourself from whatever it is. A successful person is not afraid and doesn’t doubt his potentials; don’t let doubt find its way into your head. Try your best to BE OPTIMISTIC.

Another area is in your confession, I mean what you say with your mouth..

Family / How To Let Go Of Hate by Buildingthelife(m): 12:14am On Mar 05, 2015
You just cannot forget the bad things your friend, spouse or neighbor has done to you. The harsh words and discourteous acts continue to linger in your memory. As a result the relationship you once had has been thrown away into the ocean and replaced with hate, resentment and bitterness. You try to forgive and forget the issue, but at the sight of the person you could heat up higher than mercury’s boiling point. Hmm, well to tell you the truth hate and resentment is not worth your attention, it is high time you let go of it, after reading this short but powerful post, you would realize that hatred, bitterness or resentment does more damage to you than the one you harbor it for.

What You should Know About Hate

Harboring resentment is like using a cane to hit your head and expect others to feel the pain. The hate you reserve in your heart would only hurt you, leaving the one you hate free from hurt.

It is important that you know that hatred or resentment is not the result of a problem or quarrel, it is a life must situation, and so a problem in its own self. (I’m guessing you didn’t get this, read it again).

Resentment undermines the very qualities which a relationship should be built, including trust, loyalty and love, so it breaks relationships.
You cannot control what someone else says or does, but you can control the way you react to it. Therefore resentment is one of the options you get to choose from after a quarrel or feud, no person is responsible for the hatred you feel in your heart but yourself, so it is baseless to say someone else made you resentful.

Keep all these at the back of your mind, the next time that feeling tries to pop up.

What To Do When You Hate Someone

Ask yourself questions like “How easily do I get offended? Do I make mountains out of hills? Am I inclined to bitterness? “ If your answer is yes, then I suggest you lay this in your heart, “The one who keeps harping on a matter, separates close friends”. Learn to be more patient and develop tolerance with people whether it is your friend or enemy, neighbor or stranger, spouse or whatever.

It is easy to blame your friend, no doubt about that, but also remember that being hateful is a choice, y (not complete)

Putting off things, obnubilating from work, delays; synonyms to what we call procrastination, which can avert us from reaching more preponderant heights in life. Whether we would like to admit it or not, we all have been victims of the invasion of procrastination, at one point in our life. With miscellaneous activities such as social media chats, watching YouTube videos, checking emails and reading articles on blogs which we would gladly choose over filling documents and working in the field, there is no doubt that there’s no one who hasn’t fallen for it. Now, there are just some who are chronic procrastinators, if you fall under this group trust me it’s going to get you in trouble soon. I will be sharing a comprehensive but easy to understand list of ideas on how you can avoid procrastination, whether in your place of work or in school, this would help you.

First of all, let’s see most of the reasons why people procrastinate, I won’t be explaining much on this, as it is self explanatory.

Lack of interest
Lack Of Motivation
Fear of Large Work
Laziness
Entertained by Something Else
Attitude to Work
I’m sure you noticed some of those traits each time you procrastinate right? Well not to worry, I will be giving you a proper remedy to stop procrastination

PART 1 OF 2

Make The Burden Less

A common reason why we procrastinate is because we find a particular task difficult or overwhelming. If you have a very large task at hand, breaking it down into smaller parts would make it a lot easier. Make sure that it is broken into stages that suit you.

Focus on one task at a time. Do not try to complete numerous tasks at th. (Not Complete)

I wouldn't be posting a 1,154 word article here..But I will overtime tho. Any ways You can read this inspiring article by clicking this link >> http://buildingthelife.com/how-to-stop-procrastination-and-get-things-done/

Trust me you would be glad u read it..
Meanwhile I want to hear your contributions on how you can stop procrastination and get things done.. I almost forgot, your contributions here, if it is pleasing, it will be added to the original article on that page link I shared..Stay cool

To add to that list
Never fill your words with "like" or "um"

" I like um built my last company, um i increased their net worth, i was like their best staff"
Filling every sentence you make with like is only giving your interviewers the sense that you lack confidence.

Bro, I think you are just unnecessarily sentimental in passing your judgment and not being rational, sorry to say if you have people you are managing and this model happens to be your mgt style, u may not be principled and it will do your team no good if really this is how you think.

Lemme make it clear to you that as far as God is concerned everything he made is good, and he has good plan for very man, do not 4get that he gave man what they call free-will to now either work in that direction or not.

Mentioning Jonathan, I quite agree with you that luck is part of life and one person out of a million can just b lucky for such office but I think you will be making a big mistake by leaving out the rudiments which God works with, I'm sure if Jonathan was not educated and politically informed to a certain level he would neither have been known nor able to contest for election.

Moral of the topic is, God detests laziness and evn if his plan is to make u big and you refuse outrightly by being lazy that plan may be forfeited, rember dis same God said a lazy man does not deserve to eat.

I leave u with this - "Success in life is preparedness meets with opportunity.."

Totally well said bro. Success in life is an exclusive product of hard work. Working less while depending on God's grace to provide is just out of the context..

The last part of this proven self help.

#5 – Stay Away From Idleness

Spend Time with Friends Or Close Relatives

Relatives whom you love, friends whom you laugh and mess around with can change the mood you are in. As you know by now, laughter is the best medicine (can’t cure aids though); having a good time with friends and family would make you forget your circumstances little by little. Instead of staying idle wallowing in your thoughts, get up and hang. Whatever situation you find yourself, being with friends or close relatives is sure going to get you out of it.

Read And Write Something

Books can be very close friends too, try to cultivate the habit of reading and writing at least for few minutes every day. Get a book or your journal preferably; write whatever you want even if it makes little or no sense. Reading and writing helps you gain control over your mood and give you knowledge on why you feel the way you do.

#6 – Eat Healthy Foods

Increase your intake of foods that provide the body with energy, and foods rich in omega-3 fats such as mackerel, sardines and salmons. Foods like vegetables, fish and fruits can also improve your mood (yes, I said so). Talking about ingestion, it is of great importance that you desist from alcohol and cigarette as they are chronic depressants.

#7 – Seek Professional Help, If The Situation Is Beyond Control

Know when to seek additional help. If the situation worsens find a licensed therapist that will check you thoroughly and render professional advice.

I believe this tips should do the trick. Please note that this help tips are not as easy as this 915 word article portrays, it takes time, but with consistency you will overcome it.

As promised the continuation of this tutorial

#3 – Don’t Stay Indoors

Expose yourself to the fresh air and sunlight outside your house. While the fresh air can be helpful in cooling your body and keeping it relaxed, sunlight can also have a positive effect on your mood. Rather than sitting or lying indoors and wallowing in your thoughts, you could get a chair and sit outside in the confines of a tree for shade and embrace Mother Nature as she calms your nerves and lifts your burdens with her gentle touch.

#4 – Learn To Relax And Keep Yourself At Ease

I talked about the demerits of keeping your body dormant at the beginning of this post and now I am talking about learning to relax? Could I be more biased? Well hell no, you are terribly misunderstanding, while working is important, relaxing is also. When either of both is now done in excess or for a long span, then it becomes a foe to the recovery process. It is important that when dealing with depression you practice relaxation techniques. Meditate, try yoga or aim for a nap every day.

Health / How To Overcome Depression (tips That Work) by Buildingthelife(m): 1:23pm On Feb 27, 2015
Depression is a state of feeling despondent; depression in the medical sense is just like cancer which is a medical condition where one is in a continuous state of severe sadness. For me I like to see depression far from the medical perspective (after all I did not study medical science neither am I intending to J ) now read my definition, depression is another one of life drawbacks which is a condition of the mind when it has been drowned with thoughts of the situation surrounding it ,mostly tragic. A depressed person is always sad, discouraged and without hope owing to the fact that his/her vision has been devoid of success, comfort and happiness.

NOTE: The word vision is used there in place of life because it is impossible for one’s life to be rid of success, comfort and happiness. Only your vision can be devoid of that.

Alright now back to the matter, the road to depression recovery is far from easy, as it is also very far from impossible. While seeking professional help from either a counseling/clinical psychologist or a psychiatrist is important, you should also know that the only person who can truly overcome this condition is yourself. So why seeking medical help is important, self help is thrice as important. With experience and great research, I give you my self-help tips that would eliminate depression overtime.

#1 – Keep An Eye On Your Fitness

Your fitness is one area of your life you should keep your focus on when dealing with depression. I stumbled on this expression during my research and would like to share with you. “Use it or lose it’, well its true isn’t it? If your body is dormant for a long period of time, it is bound to get weak and as it does so does the mind. Exercise your body once in a while, indulge yourselves in activities such as running, jogging, swimming, or just having a walk around your vicinity. Exercises boost your mood and have been proven as dependable and helpful as medications.

#2 – Avoid Situations That Lead To Stress

Stress is a paramount depression trigger. To be stressed under depression is equivalent to carrying a very heavy stone on your head while walking under the sun, of course it’s uncomfortable. To overcome depression you have to stay clear every demanding situation. Have a time plan, and schedule your activities in other of needs, if any of the activities should prove demanding, break it into little segments. Stress would weigh you down and prolong the issue. Stay clear of it.

Career / 7 Things To Let Go If You Are To Succeed In Life by Buildingthelife(m): 11:09pm On Feb 24, 2015
For the few years I have been privileged to spend on this earth, I have virtually tried non-stop to live a triumphant life, now while this is far from difficult, I noticed that there are factors that blind people and have caused them to come to good terms with failure. Even as everyone would like to be successful, not all would like to work towards it, owing to various factors that have been imbibed over the years. This article is targeted to all who have made up their minds to be successful (YOU). To be successful you must struggle to overcome these factors.

#1 – NEGATIVE CONFESSION

Look here! I am not talking about the 42 negative confessions of the goddess of truth and justice(for those who know about that issue) or being religious, the negative confession in this case is simply making wrong declarations, and negative speaking. As it is said “there is power in words”, note that. When you make negative confessions, trust me it is bound to manifest (probably one of natures’ laws or something). Now for instance, you wrote an exam and your grade got an F, then you say to yourself “I never do anything right, this happens every year, and next year would be no different, I am a failure” (sounds familiar?). Next year comes and you fail yet again. What message am I trying to convey? Declarations follow you accordingly. You don’t expect something negative and expect the best, it just isn’t possible. Strive to oppose this factor by speaking positively even when situations are overwhelming. For example you could say, “I just have to put more effort, next year would have a pleasing result”. You would be surprised with how much power positive confessions have over your life.

#2 – FEAR

I read this quote once somewhere and it motivated me; I want to share it with you with the hope that it does the same.

“Fear will do one thing and one thing only; hold you back”.

People fear failure; and as a result they fail to succeed, they fail to realize that failure is but a means to an end. You should learn how to deal with failure and fear before it deals with you. Now let me clearly underline what fear is capable of doing to you. Fear causes you to refuse change in your life; fear keeps you on mute in situations when you should express yourself; fear is a success killer. It should be noted that for you to be successful, fear ought to be eliminated from your mind, and for you to do this you should change the way you think about fear, be bold and face your fear head on with a positive attitude.

I recommend you read this article on how to deal with failure: http://buildingthelife.com/how-to-deal-with-failure/

#3 – SELF-DOUBT
